  • vsftp on CentOS - unable to get a folder list of /var directory

    Hi, I'm just getting started with CentOS and running into a strange issue with vsftp. When I FTP in, then change directory to /var I don't get a folder list. Is there something about CentOS or vsftp in particular that I may be missing that causes this behavior? The permissions on the folder are like others that I am able to see while connected via FTP. Only few encounter some error message when they try to access to it. is not accessible. you might not have permission to use this network resource the network is not present or not started All 70 users same version of XP and in 192.168.1.0 /24 network.   • Helicon ISAPI_REWRITE for masking folder

    Hello, I would like to use the ISAPI_REWRITE module to rewrite a url: www.site.com/app/ to www.site.com So that the user doesn't see the folder where the application is... the reason why isn't important, but essentially I need to mask this folder due to an IIS structure change. Any help would be appreciated. I need to remap any requested file in the app directory and any related subdirectory to the main URL. Thanks.

    Due to company restrictions where I currently work, My windows users folder %USERPROFILE% is space restricted. I get a warning that I must delete files before I can log off. Because of that, I have moved everything else out of my profile folder (maven repository, IntelliJ configuration & cache). I need to tell Firefox to put userprofiles somewhere else on my machine (like for instance C:\ff_profiles\ ). How do I do that?

    I want my thunderbird in my dock show all of my unread mail (prefer show it separated) somthing like DockStar for Mail.app: I use gmail filter so some of my mail skip inbox and just get proper label and my thunderbird show them in the folder: My problem is that my thunderbird just notify me of my unread mail in my inbox and if I have many mail in folder that is new until I open thunderbird windows I don't notify of them: are there any solution for this problem?

    In XP, to ensure a folder opened in a new window, I held down CTRL when I opened (by mouse or keyboard) the folder. This action is so ingrained to me, I pretty much don't even realise I'm doing it at a conscious level. Unfortunately, this action apparently hasn't made it to Vista. Is there a new way to do this, or am I just missing something obvious?

    I was so excited to hear that Windows 7 Explorer now has a hotkey to create a new folder (ctrl+shift+N), but I tried it on my machine, and it doesn't work!! If I press ctrl+shift+N in a Windows Explorer window, it opens up my default web browser (Firefox) and tries to open the last downloaded file. How do I get Create New Folder functionality back? Notes: Windows 7, Firefox is default browser. Keyboard is MS Natural Ergonomic Keyboard 4000.

    I increased my application pool memory size from default to 500 mb. and i have IIS 7.5. My server sometimes falling down (service unavailable) and i don't know the reason. I did couple of changes at the same day that i changed memory size in iis and from that days i am getting this problem in one of my servers. What cmdlets should I be looking at considering that I am copying to a remote server? How do I read the parameters into variables? How do I restart IIS? Cosidering that I might want to copy multiple folders, how do I write a powershell script that invokes a powershell script?

  • User not able to change permissions on folder in network share for Windows Server 2003

    I have a user that has rights to change permissions within a certain folder on a Windows Server 2003 network share. Although I grant this person the rights to change permission and ownership this person cannot change any permissions. The network share is also set to allow everyone full control. (I understand it is bad practice yet this is how it was first configured) Is there any reason why this domain user cannot modify permissions on the folder and files they create?

  • DFS - Stop sync of large folder that has since been removed

    We have a site to site DFSR on Windows Server 2008 R2 that has been running perfectly between site A to site B until someone dumped a 20GB folder. This has overwhelmed the upload and make the internet almost useless at site A (the upload is low at the branch office). We have removed this folder from the DFS share on site A, however the internet is still really slow. Is there any way to cancel this sync or other way to get DFSR back in to a happy state?
