    Running: Linux ips-svf-1 3.0.0-22-server #36-Ubuntu SMP Tue Jun 12 17:56:20 UTC 2012 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux I'm trying to free space in /boot with apt-get -y purge, but every time I run the command I get an error about unmet dependencies: sudo apt-get -y purge linux-headers-3.0.0-12 Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree Reading state information... Done You might want to run 'apt-get -f install' to correct these: The following packages have unmet dependencies: linux-headers-3.0.0-12-server : Depends: linux-headers-3.0.0-12 but it is not going to be installed linux-image-server : Depends: linux-image-3.0.0-26-server but it is not going to be installed E: Unmet dependencies. Try 'apt-get -f install' with no packages (or specify a solution). However, I can't run apt-get -f install since /boot is full. I also tried running dpkg --purge and dpkg --remove manually, but both give the same unmet dependency error. Any suggestions on how I can successfully free space in /boot? Is there anything I can delete with rm?

  • Using nested public classes to organize constants

    I'm working on an application with many constants. At the last code review it came up that the constants are too scattered and should all be organized into a single "master" constants file. The disagreement is about how to organize them. The majority feel that using the constant name should be good enough, but this will lead to code that looks like this: public static final String CREDITCARD_ACTION_SUBMITDATA = "6767"; public static final String CREDITCARD_UIFIELDID_CARDHOLDER_NAME = "3959854"; public static final String CREDITCARD_UIFIELDID_EXPIRY_MONTH = "3524"; public static final String CREDITCARD_UIFIELDID_ACCOUNT_ID = "3524"; ... public static final String BANKPAYMENT_UIFIELDID_ACCOUNT_ID = "9987"; I find this type of naming convention to be cumbersome. I thought it might be easier to use public nested class, and have something like this: public class IntegrationSystemConstants { public class CreditCard { public static final String UI_EXPIRY_MONTH = "3524"; public static final String UI_ACCOUNT_ID = "3524"; ... } public class BankAccount { public static final String UI_ACCOUNT_ID = "9987"; ... } } This idea wasn't well received because it was "too complicated" (I didn't get much detail as to why this might be too complicated). I think this creates a better division between groups of related constants and the auto-complete makes it easier to find these as well. I've never seen this done though, so I'm wondering if this is an accepted practice or if there's better reasons that it shouldn't be done.

Tall (Keynote Highlights) Go to the JavaOne playlist on the YouTube Java channel for highlights of the JavaOne Keynotes.  Grande (Keynotes in Full) Go to the Oracle Media Network JavaOne 2012 channel to view the keynotes in full (Community Keynote coming soon). The code is scattered everywhere. There is code in the Controllers, in the models and even in the views. The application uses PROPEL as an ORM. What makes this really difficult is that the Controller may not be directly calling the table, but it may be instantiating a model class that calls that table. Is there an educated way to approach this crazy task? Note: Searching for the table name won't provide a solution because if a model uses that table I wouldn't know which Controller is using that model.
