  • Best practices to develop and maintaing code for complex JQuery/JQueryUI based applications

    - by dafi
    I'm working on my first very complex JQuery based application. A single web page can contain hundreds of JQuery related code for example to JQueryUI dialogs. Now I want to organize code in separated files. For example I'm moving all initialization dialogs code $("#dialog-xxx").dialog({...}) in separated files and due to reuse I wrap them on single function call like dialogs.js function initDialog_1() { $("#dialog-1").dialog({}); } function initDialog_2() { $("#dialog-2").dialog({}); } This simplifies function code and make caller page clear $(function() { // do some init stuff initDialog_1(); initTooltip_2(); }); Is this the correct pattern? Are you using more efficient techniques? I know that splitting code in many js files introduces an ugly band-bandwidth usage so. Does exist some good practice or tool to 'join' files for production environments? I imagine some tool that does more work than simply minimize and/or compress JS code.

  • Spring 3, Jersey (JSR-311) and Maven dependencies

    - by smeg4brains
    Hola guys! im currently struggling to integrate a REST Service based on Jersey and Spring. I'm using Spring 3.0.2-RELEASE and jersey-spring 1.2. But jersey-spring adds a dependency to Spring 2.5.6 to my project which of cause conflicts with the 3.0.2-RELEASE to give me thefollwing error: 11:58:25,409 ERROR org.springframework.web.context.ContextLoader:215 - Context initialization failed org.springframework.beans.factory.BeanDefinitionStoreException: Unexpected exception parsing XML document from class path resource [cloverjazz-web-context.xml]; nested exception is java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: org.springframework.beans.factory.xml.BeanDefinitionParserDelegate.getLocalName(Lorg/w3c/dom/Node;)Ljava/lang/String; at org.springframework.beans.factory.xml.XmlBeanDefinitionReader.doLoadBeanDefinitions(XmlBeanDefinitionReader.java:420) at org.springframework.beans.factory.xml.XmlBeanDefinitionReader.loadBeanDefinitions(XmlBeanDefinitionReader.java:342) at org.springframework.beans.factory.xml.XmlBeanDefinitionReader.loadBeanDefinitions(XmlBeanDefinitionReader.java:310) at org.springframework.beans.factory.support.AbstractBeanDefinitionReader.loadBeanDefinitions(AbstractBeanDefinitionReader.java:143) at org.springframework.beans.factory.support.AbstractBeanDefinitionReader.loadBeanDefinitions(AbstractBeanDefinitionReader.java:178) at org.springframework.beans.factory.support.AbstractBeanDefinitionReader.loadBeanDefinitions(AbstractBeanDefinitionReader.java:149) at org.springframework.web.context.support.XmlWebApplicationContext.loadBeanDefinitions(XmlWebApplicationContext.java:124) at org.springframework.web.context.support.XmlWebApplicationContext.loadBeanDefinitions(XmlWebApplicationContext.java:92) at org.springframework.context.support.AbstractRefreshableApplicationContext.refreshBeanFactory(AbstractRefreshableApplicationContext.java:123) at org.springframework.context.support.AbstractApplicationContext.obtainFreshBeanFactory(AbstractApplicationContext.java:422) at org.springframework.context.support.AbstractApplicationContext.refresh(AbstractApplicationContext.java:352) at org.springframework.web.context.ContextLoader.createWebApplicationContext(ContextLoader.java:255) at org.springframework.web.context.ContextLoader.initWebApplicationContext(ContextLoader.java:199) at org.springframework.web.context.ContextLoaderListener.contextInitialized(ContextLoaderListener.java:45) Is there a way to get around this issue? • DataTables - Remove DataTables from HTML Table created in different JavaScript File

    - by Matt Green
    So I have a site I visit everyday for work. The DataTables implementation on this site is atrocious. The DataTable is applied to an HTML table that is generated when the page is rendered and then the DataTable is initialized on it. I figured this is great because I can create a little TamperMonkey script to remove the horrible DataTable and create one that functions how I need it to. The DataTable is created via inline Javascript at the end of the document body. I tried the following per the DOCs for the destory() method. // ==UserScript== // @name // @version 0.1 // @description Makes the Invoice Table more user friendly // @include URL // @require http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.7.2/jquery.min.js // @require http://cdnjs.cloudflare.com/ajax/libs/datatables/1.10.1/js/jquery.dataTables.min.js // @copyright 2014+, Me // ==/UserScript== $(function() { var t = $('#customer_invoices').DataTable(); t.destroy(); }); It does not "remove those enhancements and return the table to its original un-enhanced state, with the data shown in the table" as stated in the docs. It does not appear to do anything. I think it is either because the table has not been Datatable initialized yet, or that I am not able to access the original DataTable initialization in a different scope. Any help is greatly appreciated as this has me banging my head on the desk.

  • Delphi 2009: How do I prevent network application from leaking critical section?

    - by eed3si9n
    As part of Vista certification, Microsoft wants to make sure that an application exits without holding on to a lock (critical section): TEST CASE 31. • C# Static constructors design problem - need to specify parameter

    - by Neil Dobson
    I have a re-occurring design problem with certain classes which require one-off initialization with a parameter such as the name of an external resource such as a config file. For example, I have a corelib project which provides application-wide logging, configuration and general helper methods. This object could use a static constructor to initialize itself but it need access to a config file which it can't find itself. I can see a couple of solutions, but both of these don't seem quite right: 1) Use a constructor with a parameter. But then each object which requires corelib functionality should also know the name of the config file, so this has to be passed around the application. Also if I implemented corelib as a singleton I would also have to pass the config file as a parameter to the GetInstance method, which I believe is also not right. 2) Create a static property or method to pass through the config file or other external parameter. I have sort of used the latter method and created a Load method which initializes an inner class which it passes through the config file in the constructor. Then this inner class is exposed through a public property MyCoreLib. public static class CoreLib { private static MyCoreLib myCoreLib; public static void Load(string configFile) { myCoreLib = new MyCoreLib(configFile); } public static MyCoreLib MyCoreLib { get { return myCoreLib; } } public class MyCoreLib { private string configFile; public MyCoreLib(string configFile) { this.configFile = configFile; } public void DoSomething() { } } } I'm still not happy though. The inner class is not initialized until you call the load method, so that needs to be considered anywhere the MyCoreLib is accessed. Also there is nothing to stop someone calling the load method again. Any other patterns or ideas how to accomplish this?

  • Android Custom View Constructor

    - by Mitch
    I'm learning about using Custom Views from the following: http://developer.android.com/guide/topics/ui/custom-components.html#modifying The description says: Class Initialization As always, the super is called first. Furthermore, this is not a default constructor, but a parameterized one. The EditText is created with these parameters when it is inflated from an XML layout file, thus, our constructor needs to both take them and pass them to the superclass constructor as well. Is there a better description? I've been trying to figure out what the constructor(s) should look like and I've come up with 4 possible choices (see example at end of post). I'm not sure what these 4 choices do (or don't do), why I should implement them, or what the parameters mean. Is there a description of these? Thanks. Mitch public MyCustomView() { super(); } public MyCustomView(Context context) { super(context); } public MyCustomView(Context context, AttributeSet attrs) { super(context, attrs); } public MyCustomView(Context context, AttributeSet attrs, Map params) { super(context, attrs, params); }

  • android compile error: could not reserve enough space for object heap

    - by moonlightcheese
    I'm getting this error during compilation: Error occurred during initialization of VM Could not create the Java virtual machine. Could not reserve enough space for object heap What's worse, the error occurs intermittently. Sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn't. It seems to be dependent on the amount of code in the application. If I get rid of some variables or drop some imported libraries, it will compile. Then when I add more to it, I get the error again. I've included the following sources into the application in the [project_root]/src/ directory: org.apache.httpclient (I've stripped all references to log4j from the sources, so don't need it) org.apache.codec (as a dependency) org.apache.httpcore (dependency of httpclient) and my own activity code consisting of nothing more than an instance of HttpClient. I know this has something to do with the amount of memory necessary during compile time or some compiler options, and I'm not really stressing my system while i'm coding. I've got 2GB of memory on this Core Duo laptop and windows reports only 860MB page file usage (haven't used any other memory tools. I should have plenty of memory and processing power for this... and I'm only compiling some common http libs... total of 406 source files. What gives? I closed some web browser windows and recompiled the same exact code with no edits and it compiled with no issue. this is definitely a compiler issue related to memory usage. Any help would be great.... because I have no idea where to go from here. • django customizing form labels

    - by Henri
    I have a problem in customizing labels in a Django form This is the form code in file contact_form.py: from django import forms class ContactForm(forms.Form): def __init__(self, subject_label="Subject", message_label="Message", email_label="Your email", cc_myself_label="Cc myself", *args, **kwargs): super(ContactForm, self).__init__(*args, **kwargs) self.fields['subject'].label = subject_label self.fields['message'].label = message_label self.fields['email'].label = email_label self.fields['cc_myself'].label = cc_myself_label subject = forms.CharField(widget=forms.TextInput(attrs={'size':'60'})) message = forms.CharField(widget=forms.Textarea(attrs={'rows':15, 'cols':80})) email = forms.EmailField(widget=forms.TextInput(attrs={'size':'60'})) cc_myself = forms.BooleanField(required=False) The view I am using this in looks like: def contact(request, product_id=None): . . . if request.method == 'POST': form = contact_form.ContactForm(request.POST) if form.is_valid(): . . else: form = contact_form.ContactForm( subject_label = "Subject", message_label = "Your Message", email_label = "Your email", cc_myself_label = "Cc myself") The strings used for initializing the labels will eventually be strings dependent on the language, i.e. English, Dutch, French etc. When I test the form the email is not sent and instead of the redirect-page the form returns with: <QueryDict: {u'cc_myself': [u'on'], u'message': [u'message body'], u'email':[u'[email protected]'], u'subject': [u'test message']}>: where the subject label was before. This is obviously a dictionary representing the form fields and their contents. When I change the file contact_form.py into: from django import forms class ContactForm(forms.Form): """ def __init__(self, subject_label="Subject", message_label="Message", email_label="Your email", cc_myself_label="Cc myself", *args, **kwargs): super(ContactForm, self).__init__(*args, **kwargs) self.fields['subject'].label = subject_label self.fields['message'].label = message_label self.fields['email'].label = email_label self.fields['cc_myself'].label = cc_myself_label """ subject = forms.CharField(widget=forms.TextInput(attrs={'size':'60'})) message = forms.CharField(widget=forms.Textarea(attrs={'rows':15, 'cols':80})) email = forms.EmailField(widget=forms.TextInput(attrs={'size':'60'})) cc_myself = forms.BooleanField(required=False) i.e. disabling the initialization then everything works. The form data is sent by email and the redirect page shows up. So obviously something the the init code isn't right. But what? I would really appreciate some help.

  • Linux C/C++ : How to reload dynamic modules?

    - by Arman
    Hi, Are there way to reload dynamic library? I am loading module by dlopen library: bool load_functions(){ std::string function_name="libfunction-factory.so"; void* handle = dlopen(function_name.c_str(), RTLD_NOW); //some initialization and usage // ''' // unload the library dlclose(handle); return true; } int main() { int i=0; for(;;) { cout<<"##prompt##"<<i++<<">"; if(std::cin.get()=='q') break; else { if(!load_functions()) std::cout<<"Failed to load Function Factory..."<<std::endl; } cout<<endl; } return 0; } after running I am editing library and trying to reload the library, but the new library does not load. Always the first loaded library is used. Are there way to force to reload library? Why dlclose does not unload library? Kind regards Arman.

  • How to setup prawn on heroku when installed as a git submodule

    - by brad
    I have a rails app that I am trying to deploy to heroku. This app generates pdfs using prawn. I installed prawn as a git submodule rather than as a gem as this is what is recommended on the prawn website (here). This has not worked well with heroku so far though. As stated on heroku's application constraints page submodules are not supported so I followed their instructions to track the submodule in the main project and tried again. This has not worked and when I access my application I get the following error: App failed to start An error happened during the initialization of your app. This may be due to a typo, wrong number of arguments, or calling a function that doesn’t exists. Check the stack trace below for specific details. Make sure the app is working locally in production mode, by running it with RAILS_ENV (for Rails apps) or RACK_ENV (for Sinatra or other rack apps) set to production. e.g. RAILS_ENV=production script/server. Original Error /usr/local/lib/ruby/site_ruby/1.8/rubygems/custom_require.rb:31:in `gem_original_require': /disk1/home/slugs/208590_03c9c22_67f5/mnt/app/controllers/invoices_controller.rb:37: syntax error, unexpected ')' (SyntaxError) ).to_pdf(@invoice) (and then a whole lot more that I'll spare you from) The .to_pdf function described in the last line is called in a controller in exactly the way described in the prawn how-to that I linked to above so my interpretation of the error message is that prawn is not being installed/detected. Does anyone know how I can address this? I'm new to heroku so have little idea how to approach this. Is the submodule approach for prawn dead in the water from the get-go? Do I need to install it as a gem instead. I'd rather keep it as a submodule just because that works for now and I don't want to break it.

  • iPhone: TableView inside UIScrollview, show vaccillating scrollbars around

    - by karim
    Hi, I have added some table and other vies in a scrollview. scrolling in tables are working fine. But in the parent scrollview, when scrolling, a vacillating vertical scrollbars are shown, sometimes it even come to the middle of the screen. sometime show at the left side of the screen. and not limited to the vertical scrollbar region. When I set tje showsVerticalScrollIndicator = NO, it is not shown. But do you know why the scrollbar is moving around. DashboardView is a subclass of UIScrollView. dashboard=[[DashboardView alloc] initWithFrame:fullScreenRect]; dashboard.contentSize = CGSizeMake(320,700); // must do! dashboard.showsVerticalScrollIndicator = YES; dashboard.bounces = YES; self.view = dashboard; @implementation DashboardView (id)initWithFrame:(CGRect)frame { if (self = [super initWithFrame:frame]) { // Initialization code } return self; } (void)drawRect:(CGRect)rect { // Drawing code } (void) layoutSubviews{ NSArray *views = self.subviews; [UIView beginAnimations:@"CollapseExpand" context:nil]; [UIView setAnimationDuration:0.5]; [UIView setAnimationBeginsFromCurrentState:YES]; [UIView setAnimationCurve:UIViewAnimationCurveEaseIn]; UIView *view = [views objectAtIndex: 0]; CGRect rect = view.frame; for (int i = 1; i < [views count]; i++ ) { view = [views objectAtIndex:i]; view.frame = CGRectMake(rect.origin.x, rect.origin.y + rect.size.height, view.frame.size.width, view.frame.size.height); rect = view.frame; } [UIView commitAnimations]; }

  • Java repaint is slow under certain conditions.

    - by Gabriel A. Zorrilla
    I'm doing a simple grid which each square is highlighted by the cursor: They are a couple of JPanels, mapgrid and overlay inside a JLayeredPane, with mapgrid on the bottom. Mapgrid just draws on initialization the grid, its paint metodh is: public void paintComponent(Graphics g) { super.paintComponent(g); Graphics2D g2d = (Graphics2D) g; g2d.setRenderingHint(RenderingHints.KEY_ANTIALIASING, RenderingHints.VALUE_ANTIALIAS_ON); for (int i = 0; i < h; i++) { for (int j = 0; j < w; j++) { g2d.setColor(new Color(128, 128, 128, 255)); g2d.drawRect(tileSize * j, i * tileSize, tileSize, tileSize); } } In the overlay JPanel is where the highlighting occurs, this is what is repainted when the mouse is moved: public void paintComponent(Graphics g) { super.paintComponent(g); Graphics2D g2d = (Graphics2D) g; g2d.setRenderingHint(RenderingHints.KEY_ANTIALIASING, RenderingHints.VALUE_ANTIALIAS_ON); g2d.setColor(new Color(255, 255, 128, 255)); g2d.drawRect((pointerX/tileSize)*tileSize,(pointerY/ tileSize)*tileSize, tileSize, tileSize); } I noticed that even though the base layer (mapgrid) is NOT repainted when the mouse moves, just the transparent overlay layer, the performance is lacking. If i give the overlay JPanel a background, its way faster. If i remove the mapgrid Antialiasing, its a bit faster too. I don't know why giving a background to the overlay layer (and thus, hiding the mapgrid) or disabling antialiasing in the mapgrid leads to much better performance. Is there a better way to do this? Why does this happen?

  • Socket errors of 10048 on the client? Possible causes?

    - by Earlz
    Hello, I'm writing a custom TCP server and client and on doing a ton of requests (60,000 to be exact) I begin to get this socket error of 10048, which should mean "the address is already in use." The error keeps happening unless I pause the process for like 2 or 3 minutes and then begin it again, and then it begins to bring up the same error a short while after restarting it. If I pause the client process and restart the server process, I still get the same error on the client. So it is a complete client side problem. This does not make sense though, this error only usually occurs when binding and this error happens on the client and not the server. What could be the possible reasons for it? A small excerpt of my initialization: TcpClient client = new TcpClient(); client.Connect("XXXXX -- some ip", 25000); client.NoDelay = true; NetworkStream clientStream = client.GetStream(); Also, everything else seems to be working fine(including the amount of time it takes to send back and forth) and this works perfectly when using 127.0.0.1 but when putting it on another LAN computer I begin to get the 10048 error. Is there something wrong with how I initialize it? What else could cause this error on the client side?

  • Why does Java's invokevirtual need to resolve the called method's compile-time class?

    - by Chris
    Consider this simple Java class: class MyClass { public void bar(MyClass c) { c.foo(); } } I want to discuss what happens on the line c.foo(). At the bytecode level, the meat of c.foo() will be the invokevirtual opcode, and, according to the documentation for invokevirtual, more or less the following will happen: Look up the foo method defined in compile-time class MyClass. (This involves first resolving MyClass.) Do some checks, including: Verify that c is not an initialization method, and verify that calling MyClass.foo wouldn't violate any protected modifiers. Figure out which method to actually call. In particular, look up c's runtime type. If that type has foo(), call that method and return. If not, look up c's runtime type's superclass; if that type has foo, call that method and return. If not, look up c's runtime type's superclass's superclass; if that type has foo, call that method and return. Etc.. If no suitable method can be found, then error. Step #3 alone seems adequate for figuring out which method to call and verifying that said method has the correct argument/return types. So my question is why step #1 gets performed in the first place. Possible answers seem to be: You don't have enough information to perform step #3 until step #1 is complete. (This seems implausible at first glance, so please explain.) The linking or access modifier checks done in #1 and #2 are essential to prevent certain bad things from happening, and those checks must be performed based on the compile-time type, rather than the run-time type hierarchy. (Please explain.)

    Hello, I have this Lazarus program: unit Unit2; {$mode objfpc}{$H+} interface uses Classes, SysUtils, FileUtil, LResources, Forms, Controls, Graphics, Dialogs, StdCtrls, ComCtrls; type { TForm2 } TForm2 = class(TForm) procedure OnTlacitkoClick(Sender: TObject); procedure FormClose(Sender: TObject; var CloseAction: TCloseAction); procedure FormCreate(Sender: TObject); tlac:TButton; private { private declarations } public { public declarations } end; var Form2: TForm2; implementation { TForm2 } procedure TForm2.OnTlacitkoClick(Sender: TObject); begin showmessage('helloworld'); end; procedure TForm2.FormCreate(Sender: TObject); var i,j:integer; begin tlac:=TButton.Create(Form2); tlac.OnClick:=OnTlacitkoClick; tlac.Parent:=Form2; tlac.Left:=100; tlac.Top:=100; end; initialization {$I unit2.lrs} end. but compiler says: unit2.pas(63,32) Error: Wrong number of parameters specified for call to "OnTlacitkoClick" in tlac.OnClick:=OnTlacitkoClick; expression. I have searched and think that this is legal expression in Delphi. I want simply to registrate OnTlacitkoClick as tlac.OnClick event,not to call this procedure. Is there somethink wrong with the code or must I do it different in Lazarus/Freepascal? Thanks.

  • How do you dynamically allocate a contiguous 3D array in C?

    - by Derek
    In C, I want to loop through an array in this order for(int z = 0; z < NZ; z++) for(int x = 0; x < NX; x++) for(int y = 0; y < NY; y++) 3Darray[x][y][z] = 100; How do I create this array in such a way that 3Darray[0][1][0] comes right before 3Darray[0][2][0] in memory? I can get an initialization to work that gives me "z-major" ordering, but I really want a y-major ordering for this 3d array This is the code I have been trying to use: char *space; char ***Arr3D; int y, z; ptrdiff_t diff; space = malloc(X_DIM * Y_DIM * Z_DIM * sizeof(char)) Arr3D = malloc(Z_DIM * sizeof(char **)); for (z = 0; z < Z_DIM; z++) { Arr3D[z] = malloc(Y_DIM * sizeof(char *)); for (y = 0; y < Y_DIM; y++) { Arr3D[z][y] = space + (z*(X_DIM * Y_DIM) + y*X_DIM); } }

  • Idiomatic Scala way to deal with base vs derived class field names?

    - by Gregor Scheidt
    Consider the following base and derived classes in Scala: abstract class Base( val x : String ) final class Derived( x : String ) extends Base( "Base's " + x ) { override def toString = x } Here, the identifier 'x' of the Derived class parameter overrides the field of the Base class, so invoking toString like this: println( new Derived( "string" ).toString ) returns the Derived value and gives the result "string". So a reference to the 'x' parameter prompts the compiler to automatically generate a field on Derived, which is served up in the call to toString. This is very convenient usually, but leads to a replication of the field (I'm now storing the field on both Base and Derived), which may be undesirable. To avoid this replication, I can rename the Derived class parameter from 'x' to something else, like '_x': abstract class Base( val x : String ) final class Derived( _x : String ) extends Base( "Base's " + _x ) { override def toString = x } Now a call to toString returns "Base's string", which is what I want. Unfortunately, the code now looks somewhat ugly, and using named parameters to initialize the class also becomes less elegant: new Derived( _x = "string" ) There is also a risk of forgetting to give the derived classes' initialization parameters different names and inadvertently referring to the wrong field (undesirable since the Base class might actually hold a different value). Is there a better way? Edit: To clarify, I really only want the Base values; the Derived ones just seem necessary for initializing the Base ones. The example only references them to illustrate the ensuing issues. It might be nice to have a way to suppress automatic field generation if the derived class would otherwise end up hiding a base class field.

  • Spring 3 & Jersey

    - by smeg4brains
    Hola guys! im currently struggling to integrate a REST Service based on Jersey and Spring. I'm using Spring 3.0.2-RELEASE and jersey-spring 1.2. But jersey-spring adds a dependency to Spring 2.5.6 to my project which of cause conflicts with the 3.0.2-RELEASE to give me thefollwing error: 11:58:25,409 ERROR org.springframework.web.context.ContextLoader:215 - Context initialization failed org.springframework.beans.factory.BeanDefinitionStoreException: Unexpected exception parsing XML document from class path resource [cloverjazz-web-context.xml]; nested exception is java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: org.springframework.beans.factory.xml.BeanDefinitionParserDelegate.getLocalName(Lorg/w3c/dom/Node;)Ljava/lang/String; at org.springframework.beans.factory.xml.XmlBeanDefinitionReader.doLoadBeanDefinitions(XmlBeanDefinitionReader.java:420) at org.springframework.beans.factory.xml.XmlBeanDefinitionReader.loadBeanDefinitions(XmlBeanDefinitionReader.java:342) at org.springframework.beans.factory.xml.XmlBeanDefinitionReader.loadBeanDefinitions(XmlBeanDefinitionReader.java:310) at org.springframework.beans.factory.support.AbstractBeanDefinitionReader.loadBeanDefinitions(AbstractBeanDefinitionReader.java:143) at org.springframework.beans.factory.support.AbstractBeanDefinitionReader.loadBeanDefinitions(AbstractBeanDefinitionReader.java:178) at org.springframework.beans.factory.support.AbstractBeanDefinitionReader.loadBeanDefinitions(AbstractBeanDefinitionReader.java:149) at org.springframework.web.context.support.XmlWebApplicationContext.loadBeanDefinitions(XmlWebApplicationContext.java:124) at org.springframework.web.context.support.XmlWebApplicationContext.loadBeanDefinitions(XmlWebApplicationContext.java:92) at org.springframework.context.support.AbstractRefreshableApplicationContext.refreshBeanFactory(AbstractRefreshableApplicationContext.java:123) at org.springframework.context.support.AbstractApplicationContext.obtainFreshBeanFactory(AbstractApplicationContext.java:422) at org.springframework.context.support.AbstractApplicationContext.refresh(AbstractApplicationContext.java:352) at org.springframework.web.context.ContextLoader.createWebApplicationContext(ContextLoader.java:255) at org.springframework.web.context.ContextLoader.initWebApplicationContext(ContextLoader.java:199) at org.springframework.web.context.ContextLoaderListener.contextInitialized(ContextLoaderListener.java:45) Is there a way to get around this issue? Does anyone know? Thanks!

  • Custom view with nib as subview doesn't seem to be loading

    - by Ben Collins
    I've created a custom view that loads its content from a nib, like this: /* PricingDataView.h */ #import <UIKit/UIKIt.h> @interface PricingDataView : UIView { UIView *contentView; } @property (nonatomic, retain) IBOutlet UIView *contentView; @end /* PricingDataView.m */ #import "PricingDataView.h" @implementation PricingDataView @synthesize contentView; - (id)initWithFrame:(CGRect)frame { if ((self = [super initWithFrame:frame])) { [[NSBundle mainBundle] loadNibNamed:@"PricingDataView" owner:self options:nil]; [contentView setFrame:frame]; [self addSubview:contentView]; } return self; } /* ... */ In the nib file I set PricingDataView as the type of the File's Owner, and connected the contentView outlet in IB. I placed a regular UIView from the Interface Library onto the full-sized view shown to the user, and then changed it's class name to PricingDataView. It all builds, but at runtime, nothing is rendered where my custom view is supposed to be. I put breakpoints in PricingDataView.initWithFrame, but they don't hit, so I know I'm missing something that would cause the view to be initialized. What I'm curious about is that int the process of loading my other views from nibs, all the initialization happens for me, but not with this one. Why?

  • Reference-type conversion operators: asking for trouble?

    - by Ben
    When I compile the following code using g++ class A {}; void foo(A&) {} int main() { foo(A()); return 0; } I get the following error messages: > g++ test.cpp -o test test.cpp: In function ‘int main()’: test.cpp:10: error: invalid initialization of non-const reference of type ‘A&’ from a temporary of type ‘A’ test.cpp:6: error: in passing argument 1 of ‘void foo(A&)’ After some reflection, these errors make plenty of sense to me. A() is just a temporary value, not an assignable location on the stack, so it wouldn't seem to have an address. If it doesn't have an address, then I can't hold a reference to it. Okay, fine. But wait! If I add the following conversion operator to the class A class A { public: operator A&() { return *this; } }; then all is well! My question is whether this even remotely safe. What exactly does this point to when A() is constructed as a temporary value? I am given some confidence by the fact that void foo(const A&) {} can accept temporary values according to g++ and all other compilers I've used. The const keyword can always be cast away, so it would surprise me if there were any actual semantic differences between a const A& parameter and an A& parameter. So I guess that's another way of asking my question: why is a const reference to a temporary value considered safe by the compiler whereas a non-const reference is not?

  • Mouse bugginess - SWFObject, Firefox 3 for Mac, and Flash

    - by justinbach
    I'm pulling my hair out over a problem I'm encountering on Firefox 3.5 & 3.6 on OS X. I'm using SWFobject to embed an AmMap of the US, which has rollover tooltips for various states. The rollovers are working fine in every other browser I've tested, but they're very buggy on FF for Mac--most of the time they don't show up at all, but if I persistently click a state that's supposed to have a hover event, I might catch a glimpse of the tooltip. Here's the code for the SWFObject embed (incidentally, this isn't being done in the document head due to templating reasons). The reason that the SWFObject initialization is wrapped in Jquery's document.ready handler is that the swf wasn't even appearing in FF 3.5.9 for mac until I added that in: $(document).ready(function() { var params = { quality: "high", scale: "noscale", allowscriptaccess: "always", allowfullscreen: "true", bgcolor: "#FFFFFF", base:"/<?php print LANG . "/locations/" ?>" }; var flashvars = { path: "", settings_file: "mapsettings", data_file:"mapdata" }; var attributes = { id: "flashmap", name: "flashmap" }; swfobject.embedSWF("/assets/flash/ammap.swf", "flashmap", "470", "300", "8", null, flashvars, params, attributes); }); Any feedback would be greatly appreciate...site goes live in 48 hours! Thanks!

  • Help me create a Firefox extension (Javascript XPCOM Component)

    - by Johnny Grass
    I've been looking at different tutorials and I know I'm close but I'm getting lost in implementation details because some of them are a little bit dated and a few things have changed since Firefox 3. I have already written the javascript for the firefox extension, now I need to make it into an XPCOM component. This is the functionality that I need: My Javascript file is simple, I have two functions startServer() and stopServer. I need to run startServer() when the browser starts and stopServer() when firefox quits. Edit: I've updated my code with a working solution (thanks to Neil). The following is in MyExtension/components/myextension.js. Components.utils.import("resource://gre/modules/XPCOMUtils.jsm"); const CI = Components.interfaces, CC = Components.classes, CR = Components.results; // class declaration function MyExtension() {} MyExtension.prototype = { classDescription: "My Firefox Extension", classID: Components.ID("{xxxx-xxxx-xxx-xxxxx}"), contractID: "@example.com/MyExtension;1", QueryInterface: XPCOMUtils.generateQI([CI.nsIObserver]), // add to category manager _xpcom_categories: [{ category: "profile-after-change" }], // start socket server startServer: function () { /* socket initialization code */ }, // stop socket server stopServer: function () { /* stop server */ }, observe: function(aSubject, aTopic, aData) { var obs = CC["@mozilla.org/observer-service;1"].getService(CI.nsIObserverService); switch (aTopic) { case "quit-application": this.stopServer(); obs.removeObserver(this, "quit-application"); break; case "profile-after-change": this.startServer(); obs.addObserver(this, "quit-application", false); break; default: throw Components.Exception("Unknown topic: " + aTopic); } } }; var components = [MyExtension]; function NSGetModule(compMgr, fileSpec) { return XPCOMUtils.generateModule(components); }
