    Hi, I am creating a custom StyleLabel by extending the UIView, which provides a link for particular type of strings. I have successfully implemented this functionality. I am using this label in TableViewCell along with UILabel.i set UILabel & StyleLabel background color is set to clearColor. UILabel works fine, but StyleLabel shows background in blackColor. I am not sure what is the problem with the following code.     I'm trying to do something like this: - (void)sectionChanged:(id)sender { [self.view addSubview:loadingView]; // Something slow [loadingView removeFromSuperview]; } where loadingView is a semi-transparent view with a UIActivityIndicatorView. However, it seems like added subview changes don't take effect until the end of this method, so the view is removed before it becomes visible. If I remove the removeFromSuperview statement, the view shows up properly after the slow processing is done and is never removed. Is there any way to get around this?

    I am trying to call up a modal table view controller using presentModalViewController but I am not sure what to do about the delegate. The following code gives me an error: MyRidesListView *controller = [[MyRidesListView alloc] init]; controller.delegate = self; [self presentModalViewController:controller animated:YES]; [controller release]; Error: Request for member 'delegate' is something not a structure or union Now, I realized there is no delegate property in my MyRidesListView class. So, how would I add a reference to my delegate there? What am I missing here?

    I am getting this error while I am trying to load the data into my table view. Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSInternalInconsistencyException', reason: 'Invalid update: invalid number of rows in section 0. The number of rows contained in an existing section after the update (73) must be equal to the number of rows contained in that section before the update (71), plus or minus the number of rows inserted or deleted from that section (3 inserted, 0 deleted). What could be wrong?     Hi, I have the following piece of code from a book. There is this function loadPrefs where the NSString *userTimeZone is being released before the end of the function. Why? The string was not created with alloc and I assume that the stringForKey function returns an autoreleased NSString. Is this an error or am I missing something? Is it an error in the book? (I new into objective-C) In the documentation for stringForKey the only thing it mentions is: Special Considerations The returned string is immutable, even if the value you originally set was a mutable string.     Hi, My problem is when trying to load a detail view through a table cell, the application constantly crashes. The error that comes up when running through debug is "__TERMINATING_DUE_TO_UNCAUGHT_EXCEPTION___" objc exception thrown. If anyone can help me it would be greatly appreciated.     I have created a view in interface builder that contains another view (content area) and a button bar at the bottom. The hierarchy is as: ->View --->mapContainer UIView ----->map MKMapView ----->OverlayView UIView --->ToolBar UIToolBar I would like the mapContainer to resize to full window when the ToolBar is hidden. I would like the map and the OverlayView to resize to the mapContainer size I have attempted the following code, but it has no effect.   • Compass - Lucene Full text search. Structure and Best Practice.

    Hi, I have played about with the tutorial and Compass itself for a bit now. I have just started to ramp up the use of it and have found that the performance slows drastically. I am certain that this is due to my mappings and the relationships that I have between entities and was looking for suggestions about how this should be best done. Also as a side question I wanted to know if a variable is in an @searchableComponent but is not defined as @searchable when the component object is pulled out of Compass results will you be able to access that variable? I have 3 main classes that I want to search on - Provider, Location and Activity. They are all inter-related - a Provider can have many locations and activites and has an address; A Location has 1 provider, many activities and an address; An activity has 1 provider and many locations. I have a join table between activity and Location called ActivityLocation that can later provider additional information about the relationship. My classes are mapped to compass as shown below for provider location activity and address. This works but gives a huge index and searches on it are comparatively slow, any advice would be great.     I was trying to find a way to see if my site's code was valid or not but I continuously going over to W3 Validator so I decided to make an "API" however it really isn't! I just wanted to know if anybody can find a better solution to the one I have made.   • Retexturing a model via API on the web

    I'm looking at creating a site where a user could see our product and configure the options or look of it and see an image that represents that. The way I'm doing it now is if you have Piece A selected and then you choose Texture X, I have an image on the filesystem that is A with X applied to it. I just swap out my default image with that specific one. One product has 8 areas, with 10-70 pieces per area, and about 200 textures for each piece. Programming the site was pretty simple but we are getting bogged down in rendering all these pieces/textures and entering them into the system. What I would love to do is build a model and have some way to apply the textures via API and render it to the browser. I would even settle for exporting a flat image and pulling that into the browser. Is that possible with something like SolidWorks, 3DSMax, or something else? If the rendering is too time intensive it would still help to batch create all my images and use them the way I am currently.

I am trying to login to Google/Youtube using clientLogin, retrieve an AuthSub token, exchange it for a multi-session token and then use it in our upload form. Just a note that we are not going to have other users logging into our (secure) website, this is for our use only (no multi-users). We just want a way to upload videos to our YT account via our own website without having to login/upload to YouTube. Ultimately, everything is dependent on the first step. My AuthSub token is always being returned as invalid (Error '403'). All the steps I used are below with username/password changed. Anyone have an insight on why my AuthSub is always invalid? I am spending an enormous amount of time trying to get this to work.
