Does anyone has any experience wherein the requested file to download (HTTP) content length in the header does not equal to the actual file length (size) when downloaded?
What's the maximum length of an HTTP GET request? Is there a response error defined that the server can/should return if it receives a GET request exceeds this length?
Is there a standard convention when designing business objects for providing consumers with a way to discover constraints such as a property's maximum length?
It could be used up in the UI layer to, for example, set a Textbox's MaxLength property according to the maximum length limit back in the business object.
Is there a standard design approach for this?
I need to create a user scripts in xcode where I can sort a selection of multiple lines, by their length (number of characters)
I know of this macro variable PBXTextLength, but not sure how to write the script.
this is the sort selection script in Xcode:
echo -n "%%%{PBXSelection}%%%"
sort <&0
echo -n "%%%{PBXSelection}%%%"
how can i modify that script to sort the selection by the length of the line (PBXTextLength)?
thanks
How do you verify what the delimiter for a file is?
I'm using eclipse to edit a script file on my windows system that I use to deploy on my unix server. The script specifies file names and I'd like to be certain that eclipse is saving the files with unix end of line delimiters.
I've set my preferences to use the Unix Line Delimiter on new files using:
Window > Preferences > General > Workspace > "New text file line delimiter"
And have changed my script file's line delimiter using.
File -> Convert Line Delimiters To
Is there a way (preferably with the eclipse IDE) to check that there is no "\r"?
ascii85 has a function to get the maximum length of an encoding MaxEncodedLen().
I think that it should have too a function to get the length at decoding like it has in Base64.

I am testing a USB device connected to a windows PC. When the device is connected then windows has another network interface going through the device. I need to get the bytes transffered for that specific interface, basically I need the data shown in the networking tab in the task manager for my interface adapter. I found this question which helped to get this info: ms windows network activity bytes send and receive in command line
However I have a problem when I run multiple tests - each time I disconnect and connect the device there's another line for the interface, like below. In the task manager networking tab I only see one record for my interface but I don't know how I can know from command line which is the lastest and current instance (it's not like the first line or last line is always the current interface, I noticed it's not consistent):
wmic path Win32_PerfRawData_Tcpip_NetworkInterface Get Name,PacketsReceivedPerSec,PacketsSentPerSec,BytesReceivedPersec,BytesSentPersec

Hi,
I'm using a seekbar in my android application to set the volume. However the length of the seekbar is unesthetically too short. So is there a way to customize the length of a seek bar ?
Hi!
I have a file
line a - this is line a
line b - this is line b
line c - this is line c
line d - this is line d
line e - this is line e
The question is: How can I output the lines starting from "line b" till "line d" using bash commands?
I mean, to obtain:
"line b - this is line b
line c - this is line c
line d - this is line d"
Hi All,
I am an amateur using Python on and off for some time now. Sorry if this is a silly question, but I was wondering if anyone knew an easy way to grab a bunch of lines if the format in the input file is like this:
"
Heading 1
Line 1
Line 2
Line 3
Heading 2
Line 1
Line 2
Line 3
"
I won't know how many lines are after each heading, but I want to grab them all. All I know is the name, or a regular expression pattern for the heading.
The only way I know to read a file is the "for line in file:" way, but I don't know how to grab the lines AFTER the line I'm currently on. Hope this makes sense, and thanks for the help!
This is kinda like my earlier question:
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2451175/c-vector3-type-wall
Except, now, I want to do this to a builtin rather then a user created type.
So I want a type "Length" that behaves just like float -- except I'm going to make it's constructor explicit, so I have to explicitly construct Length objects (rather than have random conversions flying around).
Basically, I'm going into the type-a-lot camp.
Is there a preferred (not ugly) way of outputting a list length as a string? Currently I am nesting function calls like so:
print "Length: %s" % str(len(self.listOfThings))
This seems like a hack solution, is there a more graceful way of achieving the same result?
In which class the length variable is defined in java(one used for printing array length)?
Will I be able to see it defined say in Object class?
EDIT : Why was this field so designed(any thing related with security or memory efficiency)?
In R, what is the most efficient way to count the length between 2 values. for example, i have vector x , which are all randomly choose from 1 to 100, how can i find out the length between the first"2" and first"40",
x=(1,2,3,4,5,6,7,40,1,2,3,21,4,1,23,4,43,23,4,12,3,43,5,36,3,45,12,31,3,4,23,41,23,5,53,45,3,7,6,36)
for this vector, the answer should be 5 and 6
somehow couldn't find this with a google search, but I feel like it has to be simple...I need to convert a string to a fixed-length byte array, e.g. write "asdf" to a byte[20] array. the data is being sent over the network to a c++ app that expects a fixed-length field, and it works fine if I use a BinaryWriter and write the characters one by one, and pad it by writing '\0' an appropriate number of times.
is there a more appropriate way to do this?
Hi,
Is there a way to get the length of a collection from this?
ParallelQuery<string> Lines = File.ReadAllLines("Topics.txt").AsParallel<string>();
This has no length property. There is a count method but it takes a Func. If I don't pass a Func paremeter, I could get all the properties in the collection, but how could I not pass one in?
Thanks
I am looking for a plugin or code with a functionality like the "line count" or "line number" in common editors.
The line number usually is shown on the left border of the editors content.
Anyone got an idea how to do it with TinyMCE?
Example:
line number | content
line number one
number two
3.
one line skipped (three is empty)
5.
contents end
I have a string of a variable length and at the end of the string are some digits. What would be the best / efficient way, to parse the string and get the number from the end as an Integer?
The String and the digits at the end can can be of any length. For example:
abcd123 -- 123
abc12345 -- 12345
ab4cd1 -- 1
Hello!
How do i get the actual max length of a specified column in php?
For instance, this table:
id - int(11)
name - string(20)
I want in php to select the maximum number of characters that a field can have, like
SELECT length(name) from table1
and it should then return 20 (since its the maximum number of characters for that field).
Content-Length header is missing when I try to download rar, exe, msi static files, though response for images contains Content-Length, but if I change rar extension to jpg it doesn't.
How do I solve this?
I'v written a plugin where it comes to parsing a XML tag. The content inside the tag is indented and when i copy the parsed string into the file it's gettting like:
Example line
This is part of the parsed line
Thats goes one
End of line
What I want is to remove all spaces in front of these lines, the final text should be
Example line
This is part of the parsed line
Thats goes one
End of line
I've tried to use = but it doesn't work the way U want. How can I do that with minimal key strokes ?
I am trying to write a recursive method to print n number of asteriks in a line and create a new line at the end.
So, TriangleOps.line(5);
would print
*****
This is the code I wrote:
public static void line (int n){
if(n>0){
System.out.println("*");
line(n-1);
}}
instead it prints
*
*
*
*
*
with a lot of space at the end. Can anyone tell me how to remove the line breaks?
Hello,
I would like to know how a variable length array is managed (what extra variables or data structures are kept on the stack in order to have variable length arrays).
Thanks a lot.
Is there a smart way to convert numbers to string and automatically add zeroes so the length is the same as the maximum?
like this:
for (var i=0; i<30; i++) {
var c = i.toString();
if (c.length == 1) {
c = '0'+=c;
}
}
But smarter
What do you think are the key factors in building and maintaining your company's reputation... Innovation? Price?
Surprisingly, according to the recent 2010 Edelman Trust Barometer, survey respondents in the US valued transparency of business practices as well as company trustworthiness as the two most important factors influencing corporate reputation.
What is trust? It's the confidence in a company's ability to do what is right for all its stakeholders -- shareholders, customers, employees, and the broader society at large -- and not just shareholders.
Trust is an increasingly important component to maintaining your company's reputation and brand, and Western countries have seen an increase in global trust. Global businesses headquartered in the United States in particular have seen an 18 point boost to 54 percent in global trust.
Whether this uptick represents the start of a new trend or a mere blip in the barometer remains to be seen. The Edelman report notes that the increase is "tenuous" as people expect companies to return to "business as usual" after the economy rebounds. This warning underscores the need for companies to continue engaging in open and frequent communications and business practices with its stakeholders across multiple channels and view trust as a "new line of business" to cultivate.
