    I have a Winform application with 2 DateTimePicker's on it, initialized as follows: private void InitializeComponent() { ... this._StartDate.Format = System.Windows.Forms.DateTimePickerFormat.Short; .... this._StartTime.CustomFormat = System.Globalization.DateTimeFormatInfo.CurrentInfo.ShortTimePattern; this._StartTime.Format = System.Windows.Forms.DateTimePickerFormat.Custom; ... } My question is: When I pick a new region from "Regional and Language Options" in the Control Panel, the _StartDate display is updated to reflect the new regional settings, but the _StartTime is not. Why?

    I initially assumed that since tcp has a sequence number field of 32 bits and each byte sent on a tcp connection is labeled with a unique number, maximum number of bytes that can be sent on a tcp connection is about 2^32-1 or 2^32-2 (which?). but now I feel that since TCP is a sliding window protocol, the wraparound of sequence numbers during the connection should not have an affect on the maximum number of bytes that can be sent over a tcp connection as long as the when wraparound occurs the old packet is no longer in the network (it is sent after 2*MSL). What is the correct answer?

  • Forcing positive sign on double in .Net String.Format

    Context: .Net, C# I want to print a complex number made from two doubles. The sign needs to show on the imaginary part. I'd like to use the default double formatting for each part to minimize the number of characters. I tried using String.Format("{0:+G;-G}{1:+G;-G}j", real, imaginary) but this ended up printing: "+G-Gj". Not quite what I wanted. Is there any way to do this using the G specifier or do I need to do a custom format which would sacrifice auto-switching the exponent, e.g. {1:+#.######e###;-#.######e###}j"

    Hi, Is there a way to bind the hudson successful build's number in the C# WPF application? Meaning, on running the exe after building I want to show the build number say 10 in my application somewhere. In project configuration file, I have used ${BUILD_NUMBER}, that a hudson understands and creates a build with the revision number. If I build the Project revision # 10, I get 10.exe. Can I have something that will show this number somewhere in my application? Hope I am clear. Please help.

If those values were in the Decimal Degrees format then No problem, as I can do the way it was in that tutorial. But I don't see a way to get the global number of deletes. I can get the statistics for the entity, but I have one many-to-many mapped relationship that does not materialize in an entity, everything is done through a table that is not mapped to an entity. Is there a way to get this number?

    Hello, does anyone knows a file format for configuration files easy to read by humans? I want to have something like tag = value where value may be: String Number(int or float) Boolean(true/false) Array(of String values, Number values, Boolean values) Another structure(it will be more clear what I mean in the fallowing example) Now I use something like this: IntTag=1 FloatTag=1.1 StringTag="a string" BoolTag=true ArrayTag1=[1 2 3] ArrayTag2=[1.1 2.1 3.1] ArrayTag3=["str1" "str2" "str3"] StructTag= { NestedTag1=1 NestedTag2="str1" } and so on. Parsing is easy but for large files I find it hard to read/edit in text editors. I don't like xml for the same reason, it's hard to read. INI does not support nesting and I want to be able to nest tags. I also don't want a complicated format because I will use limited kind of values as I mentioned above. Thanks for any help.

    i was wondering if there is a data structure optimized to count frequencies against data that is stored in a database table-like format. for example, the data comes in a (comma) delimited format below. col1, col2, col3 x, a, green x, b, blue ... y, c, green now i simply want to count the frequency of col1=x or col1=x and col2=green. i have been storing the data in a database table, but in my profiling and from empirical observation, database connection is the bottle-neck. i have tried using in-memory database solutions too, and that works quite well; the only problem is memory requirements and quirky init/destroy calls. also, i work mainly with java, but have experience with .net, and was wondering if there was any api to work with "tabular" data in a linq way using java. any help is appreciated.

    Challenge Here is the task, inspired by the well-known British TV game show Countdown. The challenge should be pretty clear even without any knowledge of the game, but feel free to ask for clarifications. You are given 6 numbers, chosen at random from the set {1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, 25, 50, 75, 100}, and a random target number between 100 and 999. The aim is to make use the six given numbers and the four common arithmetic operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division; all over the rational numbers) to generate the target - or as close as possible either side. Each number may only be used once at most, while each arithmetic operator may be used any number of times (including zero.) Note that it does not matter how many numbers are used. Write a function that takes the target number and set of 6 numbers (can be represented as list/collection/array/sequence) and returns the solution in any standard numerical notation (e.g. infix, prefix, postfix). The function must always return the closest-possible result to the target, and must run in at most 1 minute on a standard PC. Note that in the case where more than one solution exists, any single solution is sufficient. Examples: {50, 100, 4, 2, 2, 4}, target 203 e.g. 100 * 2 + 2 + (4 / 4) e.g. (100 + 50) * 4 * 2 / (4 + 2) {25, 4, 9, 2, 3, 10}, target 465 e.g. (25 + 10 - 4) * (9 * 2 - 3) {9, 8, 10, 5, 9, 7), target 241 e.g. ((10 + 9) * 9 * 7) + 8) / 5 Rules Other than mentioned in the problem statement, there are no further restrictions. Is it possible for the client to read the TCP sequence number of the packet which will carry m, before sending m? In fact, I'd like to append this sequence number to m, and send the resulting packet. (Well, things are more complicated, but let's keep it that simple. In fact, I'd like to apply authentication info to this sequence number, and then append it to m.) Moreover, is it possible for the server to read the TCP sequence number of the packet carrying m?

    Here is my problem: Create a constructor for a telephone number given a string in the form xxx-xxx-xxxx or xxx-xxxx for a local number. Throw an exception if the format is not valid.     Hi, I have a moodle installation in which there is a column in mdl_user table called firstaccess whose type is bigint(10) and contains date in following format 1266839570. I am writing a query for accessing users according to date filters. For e.g. i want to check which users firstaccess is greater than '2010-04-12'. How can i convert the date? These two date formats are different. I think firstaccess is unix timestamp. Should i change the '2010-04-12' into unix timestamp or there is a way to convert firstaccess i.e 1266839570 to yyyy-mm-dd format. Please help me on this. Thanks

    Hello everyone, I want to find the largest square in the number, but I am stuck at some point. I would really appreciate some suggestions. This is what I've done so far: I take the number on the input, factorize into prime numbers, and put the sequence of prime numbers to ArrayList. Numbers are sorted, in a sense, thus the numbers in the sequence are increasing. For example, 996 is 2 2 3 83 1000 is 2 2 2 5 5 5 100000 is 2 2 2 2 2 5 5 5 5 5 My idea now is to count number of occurrences of each elements in the sequence, so if the number of occurrences is divisible by two, then this is the square. In this way, I can get another sequence, where the right most element divisible by two is the largest square. What is the most efficient way to count occurrences in the ArrayList? Or is there any better way to find the largest square? Many thanks in advance!

    I am trying to create a 2D array with vectors. I have a file that has for each line a set of numbers. So what I did I implemented a split function that every time I have a new number (separated by \t) it splits that and add it to the vector vector<double> &split(const string &s, char delim, vector<double> &elems) { stringstream ss(s); string item; while (getline(ss, item, delim)) { cout << item << endl; double number = atof(item.c_str()); cout << number; elems.push_back(number); } return elems; } vector<double> split(const string &s, char delim) { vector<double> elems; split(s, delim, elems); return elems; } After that I simply iterate through it. int main() { ifstream file("./data/file.txt"); string row; vector< vector<double> > matrix; int line_count = -1; while (getline(file, row)) { line_count++; if (line_count <= 4) continue; vector<double> cols = split(row, '\t'); matrix.push_back(cols); } ... } Now my issues is in this bit here: while (getline(ss, item, delim)) { cout << item << endl; double number = atof(item.c_str()); cout << number; Where item.c_str() is converted to a 0. Shouldn't that be still a string having the same value as item? It works on a separate example if I do straight from string to c_string, but when I use this getline I end up in this error situation, hints?
