  • jQuery Draggable and overflow issue

    I am having an undesired effect when I drag a div from a container div which is set as overflow: scroll. I have found an example of someone else where they have had the issue but I have been unable to find a resolution Example on Paste bin What happens is that the scroll is just increased, I can see why this would be the desired behaviour if you wanted to drag to a destination within the scrollable div but I want to be able to take it outside of its scrolling grasp.     I have a ListView with several columns, let's say column A,B,C,D in that order, sorted by column A. In long lists I could press a letter on my keyboard and scroll down to the first item in column A that begins with the letter pressed. A new column has been inserted at the beginning, yet I still want to be able to press a letter on my keyboard and scroll according to the values in column A which is now the second column. How can I set the focus back to column A without making it the first column?

    Here is my problem: Given x, y, z and ratio where z is known and ratio is known and is a float representing a relative value, I need to find x and y. I know that: x / y == ratio y - x == z What I'm trying to do is make my own scroll pane and I'm figuring out the scrollbar parameters. So for example, If the scrollbar must be able to scroll 100 values (z) and the thumb must consume 80% of the bar (ratio = 0.8) then x would be 400 and y would be 500. Thanks

Not the scroll height, not the document height, the actual window height. I've tried window.innerHeight which returns undefined and document.documentElement.clientHeight which gives the scroll height.

    I have a div which is contained by another 960px-wide centered div. I'm adding a background to the inner div which should expand all the way to the window's edges horizontally, essentially escaping the boundaries of its container. If I apply a large negative margin and equal amount of padding, this works on the left side, but the right side causes a scroll bar to appear. Does anyone know how I can achieve this without causing scroll bars?

    In C# (.Net) you can create a panel and set autoscroll to true. you can then add controls into it, including beyond it's size, then it will scroll. I was wondering if when using the real WinAPI in c++ (not .net) how one could acheive the same result. Must I keep track of the controls inside and move them all when I scroll or is there an easier way like in C#. Thanks
