  I want pass a parameter of javascript functiona which is a string. This javascript function is a hintbox on mousehover.. and the string i am using is like this: Hemmed Finish: Every side/edge (1/2" to 2") of the banner are folded and glued (special vinyl solution) or heat pressed. This is the most common and best finish option. Stitched Finish: Every side/edge (1" to 2") of the banner are folded in the back and stitched/sewed with white thread. This is not a common option as thread can be seen on the banner. Now in the hintbox on mousehover the above given text has to be display as it is displayed above along with the paragraph break.. But when i pass the above as parameter in that function along with appending some backslashes to recognise some punctuation, iots till gives me javascript error of unterminated string... • Android: New app not showing on a sprint phone...

  I uploaded my app to the Android Market last week and people have been purchasing it with no problems. My carrier is T-Mobile. As soon as I uploaded my app to the Market I got on my phone (Nexus One), searched for it, and there it was - instantly! (Is that because I have a google phone?) My friends G1 found it instantly also. BUT, another friend has a Sprint Moment phone and when he tried to search for it - it just wasn't there - like it didn't exist. I then called T-Mobile and Sprint representatives and found some information that I didn't know. The Sprint dude said that Sprint goes to some sort of massive Android Market Database and that's how Sprint knows about new apps and is then able to list them. New apps are not instantly shown on Sprint phones, you have to wait till their database updates to Android's database. At least that is what I thought they were trying to say to me. Has anyone else come across this issue and/or does anyone know how long Sprint takes to update their database for new Android apps? Do other carriers follow these methods?

I have try with the FloodFill color but doing that i can only able to do color in to the perticular portion. as FloodFill only fill the color till the same pixwl color comes. If the touch place pixel color get change the it will not fill color on it. So Usinf FloodFill i got the result like below image, If i press on the hand, then only hand portion will fill with color, instead of it i want to fill color to the other hand and face also. So Please help me in this case. EDITED After some reply i got the solution like this one. But still there is a memory issue. It consume lots of memory to draw the color. So please can anyone help me for it ?

I can match what I need with two empty lines (I use regexp), because there is a pattern that allows recognize blocks of text after two empty lines. But the problem is that the whole text has Introduction part and some text in the end I do not need. The header file defines the class like this: class PlasmaTutorial1 : public Plasma::Applet { Similar to above, namespace Plasma and class Applet. But what's the public doing there? I fear that I already know the concept but don't grasp the C++ syntax/way of doing it. In this question I picked up that these are called "superconstructors", at least that's what stuck in my memory, but I don't get this to the full extend. If we glance back at the first snippet, we see Constructor::Class(...) : NS::SuperClass(...), all fine 'till here. But what are m_svg(this), m_icon("document") doing there? Is this some kind of method to make these particular functions known to the derivated class? Is this part of C++ basics or more immediate? While I'm not completly lost in C++, I feel much more at home in C :) Most of the OOP I have done so far was done in D, Ruby or Python. For example in D I would just define class MyClass : MySuperClass, override what I needed to and call the super class' constructor if I'd need to.

• Confusion with a while statement evaluating if a number is triangular

  I've been having troubles trying to figure out how to solve a function. I've been assigned the development of a little programme which tells if a number is "triangular" (a number is triangular when the addition of certain consecutive numbers in the [1,n] interval is n. Following the definition, the number 10 is triangular, because in the [1,10] interval, 1+2+3+4=10). As I see the function, it goes like this: I state that the input number in the initial state isn't triangular (triangular=false) and i=n (determining the interval [1,i] where the function is going to be evaluated While n is greater or equals 0 and the number isn't triangular, the loop starts The loop goes like this: if the addition of all the numbers in the [1,i] interval is n, the number is triangular, causing the loop to end. If that statement is false, i goes from i to (i-1), starting the loop again with that particular interval, and so on till the addition is n. I can't spot the error in my "algorithm", any advice? • Unable to parse variable length string separated by delimiter

  Hi, I have a problem with parsing a string, which consists only of directory path. For ex. My input string is Abc\Program Files\sample\ My output should be Abc//Program Files//sample The script should work for input path of any length i.e., it can contain any no. of subdirectories. (For ex., abc\temp\sample\folder\joe) I have looked for help in many links but to no avail. Looks like FOR command extracts only one whole line or a string (when we use ‘token’ keyword in FOR syntax) but my problem is that I am not aware of the input path length and hence, the no. of tokens. My idea was to use \ as a delimiter and then extract each word before and after it (), and put the words to an output file along with // till we reach the end of the string. I tried implementing the following but it did not work: @echo off FOR /F "delims=\" %%x in (orig.txt) do ( IF NOT %%x == "" echo.%%x//output.txt ) The file orig.txt contains only one line i.e, Abc\Program Files\sample\ The output that I get contains only: Abc// The above output contains blank spaces as well after ‘Abc//’ My desired output should be: Abc//program Files//sample// Can anyone please help me with this? • transferring binary files between systems

  Hi guys I'm trying to transfer my files between 2 UNIX clusters, the data is pure numeric (vectors of double) in binary form. Unfortunately one of the systems is IBM ppc997 and the other is AMD Opteron, It seems the format of binary numbers in these systems are different. I have tried 3 ways till now: 1- Changed my files to ASCII format (i.e. saved a number at each line in a text file), sent them to the destination and changed them again to binary on the target system (they both are UNIX, no end of line character difference??!) 2- Sent pure binaries to the destination 3- used uuencode sent them to the destination and decoded them Unfortunately any of these methods does not work (my code in the destination system generates garbage, while it works on the first system, I'm 100% sure the code itself is portable). I don't know what else I can do? Do you have any idea? I'm not a professional, please don't use computer scientists terminology! And: my codes are in C, so by binary I mean a one to one mapping between memory and hard disk. Thanks

• How come JFrame window size in Java does not produce the size of window specified?

  Hi all, I am just messing around trying to make a game right now, but I have had this problem before too. When I specify a specific window size (1024 x 768 for instance) the window produced is just a little larger than what I specified. Very annoying. Is there a reason for this? How do I correct it so the window created is actually the size I want instead of being just a little bit bigger? Up till now I have always just gone back and manually adjusted the size a few pixels at a time until I got the result I wanted, but that is getting old. If there was even a formula I could use that would tell me how many pixels I needed to add/subtract from my my variable that would be excellent! P.S.   I'm creating a large PHP project and I've a trivial doubt about how to proceed. In the second method should I check (again) if id is numeric ? Or can I skip it because is already taken care in the first method and if it's not an exception will be thrown? Till now I always wrote code with redundant checks (no matter if already checked elsewhere i'll check it also here) Is there a best practice? Is just common sense?   I have heaps of free text news docs in one big file. The structure of each news doc is like: (Header line) Category, Doc1, Date (day, month, year) (body text) ... ... ... (Header line) Category, Doc2, Date (day, month, year) (body text) ... ... ... If I extract each doc from the big file, it costs too much time and not efficient. Therefore, I decide to read the file line by line and feed information to lucene the same time. I write c# code to index each doc to lucene like: Streamreader sr = new Streamreader(file); string line = ""; while((line = sr.ReadLine()) != null) { How can I tell this line is a doc header line from text line and get the metadata and all the text lines of a doc for lucene to index. Also, the text is read by OCR which can not give correct line-separating. Captions are mixed with content text iterate the process till the end of the file } with thanks

Is it possible for me to create the MPI_type_struct vectors included and send the data? I tried reading through forums, but i am not able to get the clear picture from the responses given there. Hope i would be able to get a clear idea or approach to send the data PS: i can send the data individually , but its an overhead of sending the data using may MPI_Send/Recieve if we consider the domain very large(say 10000*10000)

The main db have about 330 table and 1720 stored procedure (SP) created from 01/2008 till now Many table names / Columns is very long and we want to short it we found SP names is written in 25 format :( , some of them are very complex and also we want to rename many SP parameters need to be renamed one of the biggest table is Registered user table, that will be spitted in more than one table for some optimization, many columns name will be changed I searched for the way that i can rename table names ,columns and i found SQL refactor tool but i still trying it .. my questions : Is SQl Refactor is the best tool for renaming ? or is there any other one ? if i want to make it manually, is there any references or best practice for that ? How can i do such changes in fast and stable way .. i search for recommendations and case studies if exist ?

  I am setting values in my database for tourneyID,Selected,Paid,Entered,date then separating each selection with a colon So I have a string that may look like this 187,S,,,09-21-2013:141,S,,,06-21-2013:144,S,,,05-24-2013 but it also could look like this 145,S,,,07-12-2013:142,S,,,05-24-2013:187,S,,,09-21-2013 and some times is looks like this 87,S,,,07-11-2013:125,S,,,06-14-2013 I am trying to find this sequence: 187,S,,,09-21-2013 I have data stored like that because I paid a programmer to code it for me. Now, as I learn, I see it was not the best solution, but it is what I have till I learn more and it is working. My problem is when using LIKE it returns both the 187 and 87 values $getTeams = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM teams WHERE (team_tourney_vector LIKE '%$tid,S,P,,$tourney_start_date%' OR team_tourney_vector LIKE '%$tid,S,,,$tourney_start_date%') AND division='$division'"); I tried this using FIND_IN_SET() but it would only return the the team id for this string 187,S,,,09-21-2013:141,S,,,06-21-2013:144,S,,,05-24-2013 and does not find the team id for this string 145,S,,,07-12-2013:142,S,,,05-24-2013:187,S,,,09-21-2013 SELECT * FROM teams WHERE FIND_IN_SET('187',team_tourney_vector) AND (team_tourney_vector LIKE '%S,,,09-21-2013%') Any thoughts on how to achieve this?

  Can someone professional experienced Magento developer tell me how to accomplish the following in Magento? I want to know what are the possible tags that can fit in the "global" tag of the "config.xml" page of every module's etc folder? I have tried searching for this answer at many places in Internet but in vain. Please provide the full details along with it for Magento version = 1.4.0.0, because I want at least the users accessing this website find it useful enough, instead of scratching their heads. I really want a detailed explanation, because every newbie like me gets totally confused at this point. From what I know till now, is that in this page, you can set routers, rewrites, cron jobs, admin html, front-end html and many more. But without any strong concepts, none can go ahead with the belief that his code is 100% correct w.r.t. the Magento MVC architecture. So please I want that strong fundamental concept, getting underlined here, with a detailed explanation about it, so that no one gets into this pitfall ever again. • Should I be worried if I don't get any internships by 3rd year's end?

  I am in some mediocre college in some corner of India. Am about to complete 3rd year C.S. in a month and a half. I have no idea how to go about "finding an internship" as everyone seems to put it. Looking at online advice, I find that a primary way is to "use your contacts". I am sad to say that I don't have many friends(those I have, I am trying to get help from them for all it's worth), and my family can't help me as they have no idea about the software industry. My college has no official facility for aiding students in this, and the few faculty members who had contacts in "whatever" part of the industry have favoured some students that they have personally come to know. (Though I hear that the "internships" they got involve them stocking equipment in some small companies.... still it's something?) I'm getting nervous. I am considering just spending the coming summer refining my skills in C++ and begin learning MySQL and C#, both of which I have zero experience in. Maybe work on my own project... like a library management system. Relative to those in my college, I think I am among the best programmers there, but that isn't saying much as a lot of students can barely write basic code. I have experience in teaching myself C++, and DirectX9 having created a Tetris clone, some basic 3D apps (bouncing balls), and a basic console-based, text-file-database-using library management system (which I plan to improve this summer). Is it alright if I spend my summer so? Will I be able to get a job later on? I know I have to improve my social skills to get anywhere in life, and I will try, but say I am stuck like this till 4th year's end... will such self studying, online learning help me in landing a decent job? Perhaps after I have learned a bit more, joining some open source project?

• Effect.toggle and AJAX Calls

  Hi, I am using the following code to capture all the AJAX calls being made from my app, in order to show a busy spinner till the call is completed. It works well when the requests are well spaced out. However, when the request are made in quick successions, some of the AJAX calls do not get registered, or the onCreate and onComplete actions get kicked off at the same time, and more often than not, the busy spinner continues to appear on the screen, after all the calls have successfully completed.
