  What I want to realize is the following: In a JSP x I have a 3 dropdownlists and a button called edit when user click this button a table dynamically should be displayed. Now this table is modified correponding the values in those 3 dropdownlists. So it can be 3 cols or 4 cols or even 6 cols, it depends on the selected values. So what I tried is to use the servlet to getParameter doing the if clause construct the html and then forward the response. Have you any the suggestion of the structure that I can use in JSP? Thank you.

I need to pass multiple values for this parameter in the URL query string when calling this report. Is there a way to pass multiple values for a parameter in the query string of a report? Or can you pass a parameter that will cause the Select All value to be selected?

• Three boolean values saved in one tinyint

  Hello, probably a simple question but I seem to be suffering from programmer's block. :) I have three boolean values: A, B, and C. I would like to save the state combination as an unsigned tinyint (max 255) into a database and be able to derive the states from the saved integer. Even though there are only a limited number of combinations, I would like to avoid hard-coding each state combination to a specific value (something like if A=true and B=true has the value 1). I tried to assign values to the variables so (A=1, B=2, C=3) and then adding, but I can't differentiate between A and B being true from i.e. only C being true. I am stumped but pretty sure that it is possible. Thanks

  Hello there, Im having trouble with some Java, How do I give in default parameter values in java?. for example I have this in c++ DVD(int i, string t, int y, string d="Unknown"): Items(i,t,y),director(d){} and in Java I tried public Dvd(int i, String t,int y, String d="Unknown"){ super(i,t,y); director = d; } which fails to build. So how do I go about giving in default values? also In my main testing class I tried giving in 3 arguments insead of 4 but this fails also. How do I get around this problem?.

  Is there a way to construct an XPath that evaluates whether an element's value is in a predefined list of values? Something akin to this: /Location/Addr[State='TX or AL or MA'] Which would match nodes whith State elements for Texas, Alabama, or Massachusetts? I know that I can unpack the expression: /Location/Addr[State='TX] or /Location/Addr[State='AL'], etc... But this is a bit cumbersome since the xpaths are quite long, as is the list of values. My google-fu isn't turning up much on the issue...

  I have a Flex component with a form and on creationComplete, I load some data onto the form textInputs. After the Form TextInputs have got their values, I want to trigger an event so the Parent of the component can validate the values on the TextInputs and based on the validation results, I perform some enable/disable of other interfaces. I have the following dispatch code: this.dispatchEvent(new PersonalDetailsEvent(PersonalDetailsEvent.LOADED_DATA_EVENT)); The event is dispatched and is captured by the parent. But upon performing the validation, some TextInputs always fail the validation. I thought it could be because of a race condition and so I used callLater() with same results. So in the end I am now using a timer to dispatch the event which is not ideal. Does anyone have a solution to this problem. It is really annoying that a timer needs to be used for this scenario.

  Hello, I have a xml where I got some empty complex elements and I need to access the attribute values of this element. <test> <a> <abc-metadata name="testData" value="This is a test"/> </a> </test> I want to get hold of the 'testData' and 'This is a test' values. I do read the document and I tried accessing it document.getElementsByTagName . I am sure there is some way to access attributes of element tags but somehow it throws me nullpointer exception.   My php reads in xml and I want to ouput the values within a given range. I have no way of knowing the size of the array or the range. However, I do know where to start; I have a $key that holds my current location. I also know where to stop; I have the word "ENDEVENTS" between each set. I want to get the values from my current position ($key) to my end position ("ENDEVENTS"). for example i may have an array set like this: Array( [0]=1 [1]=apple [2]=straw [3]=bike [4]=ENDEVENTS [5]=15 [6]=hair [7]=shirt [8]=nose [9]=kiwi [10]=ENDEVENTS ) My code knows when I'm on 15 (in this example $key=5). I want to print 6 through 9. I tried using foreach but it's thats causing issues with what I'm trying to produce. Any ideas?

  I'm way out of my league here... I have a mapping table (table1) to assign particular values (value) to a whole number (map_nu). My second table (table2), is a collection of averages (avg) (I couldn't figure out how to properly make a markdown table, please feel free to edit!) table1: table2: (value)(Map_nu) (avg) ---- ----- 1 1 1.111 1.045 2 1.2 1.09 3 1.33333 1.135 4 1 1.18 5 1.389 1.225 6 1.42 1.27 7 1.07 1.315 8 1.36 9 1.405 10 I need to find a way to match the averages from table2 to the closest value in table1. It only need to match to the 2 digit past the decimal, so I've added the Truncated function SELECT map_nu FROM `table1` JOIN table2 ON TRUNCATE(table1.value,2)=TRUNCATE(table2.avg,2) I still miss the values that don't match the averages exactly. Is there a way to pick the nearest truncated value? Thanks!

  Im trying to compare a hashed password value in a mysql database with the hashed value of an inputted password from a login form. However, when I compare the two values it says they aren't equal.   I'm using String.split to parse a command line string into an array of strings. The result is then used to call a function using the Function.apply API. If apply(null, ["17"]) is called with this function: static function test(foo:int):void { trace(foo, typeof(foo)); } it works as expected (output: 17 number). However, calling apply(null, ["false"]) or apply(null, ["0"]) with this function: static function test(foo:Boolean):void { trace(foo, typeof(foo)); } does not work (expected output: false Boolean; actual output: true Boolean). Is there a way to make it recognize "true" and "false" (or anything else) as Boolean values, just like it does with numerical strings? Ideally "true" and "false" should also remain valid string values.

  I have an app with two UITextFields, where the user enters an integer, and then a method is called with the values the user enters. But when I completely close the app, the values are deleted. I want to change it to save the value the user entered when it closes, and loads it up when the app is re-opened. I tried this with NSUserDefault, and it worked fine (with save and load button), but I want it to make it automatically, without pressing any buttons. I saw some other people do it with the basic methods in the AppDelegate.m, but I don't know anything about that, therefore I didn't understand it at all. I saw MANY tutorials online, but I didn't understand any of them, please help, and give a detailed answer, thanks :)

  Greetings to all This is my model: aov.fit<-aov(Y~A+B+C+D+E+A:C+A:E, data=dat) In summary(aov.fit) all F values are comptuted by eg MS(A)/MS(Residuals). This is not correct (or what I want), except for F(B) and F(A:E). I suppose P values are not correct either. Can I specify how the F computations will be done?   When MATLAB scans through cases in a switch/case block, does it remember the values that it skips, and is it possible to access that list? I have a few functions with long switch\case block and I would like to have them return a list of valid case values if they make it down to otherwise. For instance, I have a function that returns a set of optical constants for a material. It currently has about 20 different materials and it is growing as I consider new ones. I realize I can brute-force it and just re-type all of the valid cases into a cell array under otherwise and have the function throw an error and return the list of valid responses, but maintaining both lists without errors or laziness creeping in over time is challenging.

• [WPF] When Should I Retrieve Values from Textbox?

  Suppose I have a Window with TextBoxes I want to use the values. Right now I'm thinking of either: 1) Updating each associated value once the cursor is out of focus, and once the user presses Ok I start the program 2) Once the user presses Ok, I retrieve all the values at once then start the program I'm not sure which one is better though. First alternative seems more modular, but there's more semantic coupling since I each new box is supposed to be updating its respective value. I realize this isn't all that important, but I'm trying to understand when to centralize and when not to. Other better approachers are appreciated too.
