Hi
I have a site running on IIS 6. I have turned on logging on the website tab of IIS and specified a directory for it to write to. Set it to an hourly schedule.
However no logs are ever created.
Have reset iis. checked disk space and permissions on the directory it is writing to but no logs are ever created.
I can see this did work once, as…
I have DNS, with a SPF TXT record, configured for a domain name. The primary user of the domain name now needs to be able to send both from our SMTP servers, and also from her GMail account. I've seen all the information about adding "include:_spf.google.com" to the SPF TXT record, but, as I look into it, it appears that record is outdated.
In…
I'm using netcat as a backend to shovel data back and forth for a program I'm making. I tested my program on the local network, and once it worked I thought it would be a matter of simply forwarding a port from my router to have my program work over the internet. Alas! This seems not to be the case.
If I start netcat listening on port 6666…
I have a public subnet with squid installed.
Let's say my subnet is from 1.2.3.2 to 1.2.4.254.
When I set the following:
http_port 50000
http_port 1.2.3.2:50000
it is working.
But when I set:
http_port 1.2.4.37:50000
it is not working.
It is only working with my first public IP from my subnet.
The error I get when it is not…
I have a small SharePoint 2010 farm (1 WFE / App Server & 1 SQL server)
Our organisation is currently mirgrating to our holding company's global domain, so we now have a new local DC on site with trusts between the current domain and the new domain.
I am going to need to move our SP Farm to the new domain and possibly rename…
I downloaded a TV season on iTunes (.m4v files), however the files are clustered into 3 episodes each. I'd like to chop these up so that each episode is in it's own file. Googling around a while didn't provide any promising leads.
What's the easiest way to split these files up?
Thanks in advance,
Cheers!
I have a network share mapped as a drive letter on a Windows 7 PC that's part of a simple home network. When I wake the PC from sleep, Explorer sometimes says the drive is disconnected. Doubleclicking the drive connects it instantly, as far as Explorer is concerned. But some other applications don't see the drive unless I take…
There are several screen capture tool questions already on this site, but I think I have a slight tweak to the usual. I'd like a handy screen capture utility that can:
Run in Windows 7
Capture a sub-region of the screen
Show the current state of the mouse cursor and any active menus
I'd like to use it for writing docs that…
Objective:
Trying to replace a Windows 2003 SBS domain controller with a windows server 2008 Standard Edition Domain Controller.
What I did:
used ADPREP. Then all user accounts and OUs are successfully replicated into the 2008 server. I have also managed to transfer all the DC roles (operations master, schema, pdc) into the…
I have a Lenovo S10 'netbook' that I've installed Fedora 17 ("LXDE spin") on. So far pretty much everything works great, except, the on-board Bluetooth. lsusb shows the controller present (0a5c:2101 Broadcom Corp. Bluetooth Controller), hcitool dev shows hci0 present, but when I put my mouse ("Lenovo Bluetooth Laser Mouse,"…
I've got basic disk OS managed disk mirroring setup in Windows 7 for a couple of volumes. After a power failure the mirrors are currently resynching. These are only small volumes of data but the sync has not completed after more than 24 hours.
Is there any way to stop this as it's driving me nuts? I need to get the…

We have a cisco asa 5505 that's new (in service for about 2 months) running 7.2(4) software. Every day around 10a it locks up for approx 10 minutes. We're monitoring it via snmp with stg, and snmp doesn't respond during that time. There's no output in the 'show crash' output. Internet connectivity is also dropped.…
I have had this issue with a few laptops now and it looks like it is some sort of user account problem.
Specifics of the system are:
Dell Laptop
Windows XP Pro SP3
Non-domain member computer
DLP Projector connected to laptop via VGA
I use this setup almost daily to do presentations, always the mirrored display…
(I originally posted a similar question on StackOverflow but readers recommended I post here instead)
When you create outgoing TCP connections, most applications let the operating system choose which port to use. Most OSes use the IANA recommended dynamic port range of 49152-65535 for this purpose. But in…
I own a Sony Reader PRS-600 ebook reader. I bought a ton of Manning Publications ebooks (DRM-free) recently. Many of the books are PDFs since not all the ones I wanted are available in epub format.
The problem: Some of the PDF books I purchased have incorrect or missing metadata. Making things worse,…

Unfortunately I have to support soap on my server for the Fedex webservice. I recompiled PHP enabling support and it works via CLI but not PHP-fpm. They both point to the same ini file and both show the module loaded, but only CLI shows the configuration values.
Output of php -i | grep -i soap

I am trying to set up a mysql master/slave configuration in two EC2 instances.
However, every time I reboot an instance, the IP address (and hostname) changes. I could assign an Elastic IP address, but would prefer to use the internal IP address.
I can't be the first person to do this, but I…
Under Windows 7 x64, when I'm ripping CDs with Exact Audio Copy, it spawns a Command Prompt window each time it invokes the external MP3 compression program I use, LAME.
While that's going on, I usually like to surf the web. However, I find it quite annoying that even when Firefox has the…
On one of the Windows XP machines I use regularly, there is a process that starts up periodically. I'd like to be able to kill the process – sometimes – because it occasionally runs when I'm busy doing something machine-intensive.
I've already tried dropping the process priority to "Idle"…
Backup Exec 2010 has just dropped, and I'm about to implement a new BEWS infrastructure, complete with CALs and new central servers.
When I specced this up last year, I ignored 2010 and focused on Backup Exec 12.5, since it's a mature product. In previous experience, major released of BE…
