• Flash AS3 Coloring Book - Movieclip only clickable in certain spots (Event Listeners)

  I am working on a coloring book and have a movieclip (outlines) containing many movieclips that can be changed to whatever color the user has selected. However it seems like some of the movieclips can be clicked anywhere and work great, and others you need to click a certain spot for it to color in. I have an example here: http://jeffkilroy.com/hosted/softee/coloring.html Notice the three sections of the icecream (top, middle, bottom). The middle is clickable from anywhere inside the movieclip, however the top and especially bottom require you to click on specific spots in order for you to activate the event listener. Not sure if it is a depth issue because I would assume if that is the case it would activate at least a different movieclip but it just seems nothing happens at all.   I apologize if this is a noob question, but I can't seem to figure this one out. I have defined an object that defines a music track (NOTE: originally had the just ATTRIBUTE vs self.ATTRIBUTE. I edited those values in to help remove confusion. They had no affect on the problem) class Track(object): def __init__(self, title, artist, album, source, dest): """ Model of the Track Object Contains the followign attributes: 'Title', 'Artist', 'Album', 'Source', 'Dest' """ self.atrTitle = title self.atrArtist = artist self.atrAlbum = album self.atrSource = source self.atrDest = dest I use ObjectListView to create a list of tracks in a specific directory ....other code.... self.aTrack = [Track(sTitle,sArtist,sAlbum,sSource, sDestDir)] self.TrackOlv.AddObjects(self.aTrack) ....other code.... Now I want to iterate the list and print out a single value of each item list = self.TrackOlv.GetObjects() for item in list: print item.atrTitle This fails with the error AttributeError: type object 'Track' has no attribute 'atrTitle' What really confuses me is if I highlight a single item in the Object List View display and use the following code, it will correctly print out the single value for the highlighted item list = self.TrackOlv.GetSelectedObject() print list.atrTitle

  Hello, I am getting the following exception when I typo the SQL driver name or the database server is offline, basically any SQLException. I can't determine where the UndeclaredThrowableException is coming from.   How does one combine two GCC compiled .o object files into a third .o file? $ gcc -c a.c -o a.o $ gcc -c b.c -o b.o $ ??? a.o b.o -o c.o $ gcc c.o other.o -o executable If you have access to the source files the -combine GCC flag will merge the source files before compilation: $ gcc -c -combine a.c b.c -o c.o However this only works for source files, and GCC does not accept .o files as input for this command. Normally, linking .o files does not work properly, as you cannot use the output of the linker as input for it. • Error while installing dependencies for PyGTK on Mac OS 10.6.3

  I tried to install the following dependencies for PyGTK 2.16.0 (the Python GIMP Tool Kit) on Mac OS 10.6.3: glib 2.25.5 gettext-0.18 libiconv-1.13.1 When I tried to install glib, I got the following error message: gconvert.c:55:2: error: #error GNU libiconv not in use but included iconv.h is from libiconv The libiconv web page talks about a circular dependency between gettext and libiconv---build one, then build the other, then build the first again. I tried to do this, though possibly incorrectly. (Will the following work: make distclean; ./configure; make; sudo make install?) The author of a posting had the same problem, and he solved it by installing libiconv-1.13.1. Could anyone explain the error in more detail, and how to correct it?

  I've tried searching but couldn't come up with a defined way on how to add your own packages to a GWT project. My tree structure looks like this: -com.mycompany -public MyApplication.html MyApplication.gwt.xml -com.mycompany.client MyApp.java -com.mycompany.gui TableLayout.java The answer I've seen out there says to add the packages relative to the root directory of the gwt.xml file, like so: <module> <inherits name="com.google.gwt.user.User" /> <entry-point class="com.mycompany.client.MyApp" /> <source path="client" /> <source path="gui" /> </module> It then complains: Unable to find type 'com.technicon.client.MyApp' Hint: Previous compiler errors may have made this type unavailable Hint: Check the inheritance chain from your module; it may not be inheriting a required module or a module may not be adding its source path entries properly Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong and how to fix this?

(directory structure of the original rpcbind source) # find rpcbind-0.2.0 -type d rpcbind-0.2.0 rpcbind-0.2.0/src rpcbind-0.2.0/man (directory structure of the patch download) # find debian -type d debian debian/patches debian/source [EDIT] I've figured out how to apply the individual patches in the patches directory: # patch -p1 < ../debian/patches/01-usage-fix.patch patching file src/rpcbind.c (and so on for each patch file) ... but I'm not sure what do with the patch-related files in the root debian folder.   I use GNU make, I want my source files and object files to be in different folders. As a first step, I want the source files at the root of my project folder, and the object files in a subfolder (say Debug/). The inference rule would be: .ss.obj: echo Assembling $*.ss... $(ASSEMBLY) $(2210_ASSEMBLY_FLAGS) $*.ss -o Debug\$*.obj but in that case, make rebuilds all files all the time, since there are no .obj in the root folder. Is there a way to include a folder for the target in the line .ss.obj? I also tried: $(OBJS_WITH_PATH):$(SRC) echo Assembling $<... $(ASSEMBLY) $(ASSEMBLY_FLAGS) $< -o $@ with $(SRC) as a list of all my sources, $(OBJS_WITH_PATH) built that way: OBJS_WITH_PATH = $(patsubst %.ss,Debug\\%.obj,$(SRC)) but that builds a dependency on all source files for all object files. What I would like is to modify the inference rule I wrote first, to take Debug/*.obj files. What it says now is no rule to make target Debug/asdfasdf.obj.

  I can't seem to call this executable correctly in my psake deploy script. If I do this: exec { "$ArchiverOutputDir\NServiceBus.Host.exe /install" } It simply outputs this (and is clearly not calling the executable - just outputting the value of that expression): c:\ReloDotNet2_ServiceEndpoints\Archiver\NServiceBus.Host.exe /install But if I do this: exec { c:\ReloDotNet2_ServiceEndpoints\Archiver\NServiceBus.Host.exe /install } I get the expected output from the executable. How do I correctly call an executable with a variable in the path to the executable in psake? If this is actually a PowerShell issue, please feel free to correct the question to reflect that insight.   I want to add support for Arabic (or other languages which are currently unsupported) to the applications supplied by android platform (e.g. Browser) without having root-access. To add Arabic support (at least displaying only) in a normal application (using developer SDK), I will need to: Add fonts Modify (reshape) the characters to be rendered For illustration, if I have string a aaa, I will need to change a aaa into a bcd because letter a at the beginning, middle, and end of a word need to be changed to b,c and d respectively) But now I want to compile android's Browser (and other apps). I am planning to get the source codes for these applications and their dependencies and bundle them as stand-alone applications which do not require root-access, and thus do not void the warranty. Other solutions which void the warranty can be obtained here. My Questions: Is the application's (e.g. Browser's) source code + 'developer SDK' enough to accomplish this? Do I need to get the source code + the development environment for the android platform? Any tips?

  I am able to auto-generate a SQL Server CE 4.0 *.sdf file using code-first generation as explained by Scott Guthrie here. I spend three hundred hours designing a logo and designing the layout. • Using Bundler along with preinstalled gems

  So I've got thin installed the old fashioned way: gem install thin I put an app on the server and installed all of its required gems via bundler: bundle install But, when I tried to start the app with thin start, it can't find any of the bundler-installed gems since they're not installed in the default gems directory. My question is: how do I make this work? Do I need to install thin via bundler as well? Will that still set up the thin executable in /usr/bin so I can start it from the command line like normal? • Installing Ruby On Rails - Issues with gem (and no RVM)

  I'm having this issue whenever i run "gem install rails": usr/local/lib/ruby/1.9.1/yaml.rb:56:in `<top (required)>': It seems your ruby installation is missing psych (for YAML output). To eliminate this warning, please install libyaml and reinstall your ruby. ERROR: Loading command: install (LoadError) cannot load such file -- zlib ERROR: While executing gem ... (NameError) uninitialized constant Gem::Commands::InstallCommand Ruby and Rubygems were both installed from source. I've installed libyaml from source and from apt-get. I'm running ubuntu 12.04. I am NOT running RVM as far as I know (trying "rvm" returns "bla bla bla not installed apt-get". I'm pretty sure this speaks of 2 separate issues but I need solutions to both. Thanks.

• Click Once doesn't create StartMenu entry and Shortcut on Windows 7 x64

  I've application that I deploy to share with ClickOnce so other users can install it and use it on their own machines. It worked fine till i noticed that when i install this app on my own machine (Windows 7 x 64) it doesn't add StartMenu (even thou it installs correctly and I have it in Control Panel / Programs). I didn't had that problem when my development machine was Windows XP. Application also deploys fine on other Windows XP computers. Also during installation (when i rerun setup) even thou I already have Net Framework 3.5 it always wants to install one (it starts that and terminates few seconds later - probably installer sees that it's already there). I can run application straigit from share just a bit of pain to do it. Are there some special settings I should do? Or some patches? I have Visual Studio 2008 and system with all optional updates installed. Application is written in C# and uses NET 3.5.

  I've got a bunch of overlapping triangles from a 3D model projected into a 2D plane. I need to merge each island of touching triangles into a closed, non-convex polygon. The resultant polygons shouldn't have any holes in them (since the source data doesn't). Many of the source triangles share (floating point identical) edges with other triangles in the source data. What's the easiest way to do this? Performance isn't particularly important, since this will be done at design time.

  say a company is using Open source libraries, or programs, and packaging it into a proprietary solution. or perhaps, the engineers have copy pasted certain section of those open source libraries and have compiled it now, into a very useful "proprietary" software suite. what legal troubles will this company face if any ? are you allowed to do this ? i mean the customer doesn't see the source codes, only runs the binary files on their computer. for example, i find an excellent NLP library in python, and decide to use it in my program that i am selling for $4000 USD (i write like 10 lines of code and let the library do the work). could i get into trouble ? would i need to write the NLP library myself from scratch to be considered "proprietary" ? danke

  Hello, My team is small, only two programmers.We both share one source ,but we live in different places.The problem is that Meanwhile I make changes on our project,the other team worker makes changes as well.It's very hard to write down every change,at least for us. When we decide we've made an important change,we contact each other sending the whole project's source. This is not good,because: The files sent from one do not contain the changes that the other worker has been working on meanwhile. We host the source on free servers,thus makes it possible for other to see the files.It will be VERY much better if only few(those that are changed) files are being uploaded rather than the whole project. My question: Are there any tools that could make our lives easier? Thanks in advance! EDIT: We use Delphi 2009.

  first off, is there a such thing as a random access random number generator, where you could not only sequentially generate random numbers as we're all used to, assuming rand100() always generates a value from 0-100: for (int i=0;i<5;i++) print rand100() output: 14 75 36 22 67 but also randomly access any random value like: rand100(0) would output 14 as long as you didn't change the seed rand100(3) would always output 22 rand100(4) would always output 67 and so on... I've actually found an open-source generator algorithm that does this, but you cannot change the seed. I know that pseudorandomness is a complex field; I wouldn't know how to alter it to add that functionality. Is there a seedable random access random number generator, preferably open source? or is there a better term for this I can google for more information? if not, part 2 of my question would be, is there any reliably random open source conventional seedable pseudorandom number generator so I could port it to multiple platforms/languages while retaining a consistent sequence of values for each platform for any given seed?
