  • Create new etherpad using PHP and CURL

    I'm trying to write a simple PHP script which automatically sets up new etherpads (see http://etherpad.com/). They don't have an API (yet) for creating new pads so I'm trying to figure if I can do things another way. After playing around some, I found that if you append a random string to etherpad.com to a not-yet-created pad, it'll come back with a form asking if you want to create a new etherpad at that address. If you submit that form, a new pad will be created at that URL. My thought then was I could just create a PHP script using CURL that would duplicate that form and trick etherpad into creating a new pad at whatever URL I give it. I wrote the script but so far I can't get it working. Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong? Doing my first tryouts with foreign keys in a mySQL database and are trying to do a insert, that fails for this reason: Integrity constraint violation: 1452 Cannot add or update a child row: a foreign key constraint fails Does this mean that foreign keys restrict INSERTS as well as DELETES and/or UPDATES on each table that is enforced with foreign keys relations?     I have a database (for tracking email statistics) that has grown to hundreds of megabytes, and I've been looking for ways to reduce it. It seems that the main reason for the large file size is that the same strings tend to be repeated in thousands of rows. The corresponding cell in the EmailInfo table contains an orphaned ToAddrRef value. If you do the INSERTs one at a time, you'll see that Alice's ID in the AddressLookup table changes! It appears that this behavior is documented: An ON CONFLICT clause may be specified as part of an UPDATE or INSERT action within the body of the trigger. However if an ON CONFLICT clause is specified as part of the statement causing the trigger to fire, then conflict handling policy of the outer statement is used instead. So the "REPLACE" in the top-level "INSERT OR REPLACE" statement is overriding the critical "INSERT OR IGNORE" in the trigger program. Is there a way I can make it work the way that I wanted?

    I have a WPF business line application with a tabbed userinterface, menus and toolbars. The application must be navigable through a keyboard, some users like to minimize mouse use. I have thrown together the included XAML sample to illustrate the problem of keyboard navigation. Using the tab key I can only get to the menu, and then to the toolbar. I have tried various attached properties for KeyboardNavigation and FocusManager, but I have not succeeded in the following goals: Navigate to the contents of the first tabpage using the keyboard. Disable tab key navigation from tabpage to menu and toolbar. This would seem to be OK... but I did some debugging, and inside the file /var/lib/gems/1.8/gems/shopify_app-4.1.0/lib/shopify_app.rb (at the top) by putting this: puts RUBY_VERSION exit It printed 1.8.7. **Why are ruby -v and RUBY_VERSION giving me different results? And am I correct in assuming this is the cause of my problems? Note: To upgrade Ruby I installed the later version with apt-get and then switched to it by using update-alternatives --config ruby and selecting option 2 like this: root@ubuntu:/usr/local/pete-shopify/cart# update-alternatives --config ruby There are 2 choices for the alternative ruby (providing /usr/bin/ruby).   • Can't use attached property on combobox inside hierarchical datatemplate WPF

    I'm hoping to use an attached property to assign a command to the selection changed event of a combobox that is embedded inside a treeview. I'm attempting to set the attached property inside the hierchical data template for the tree but the command is not set and does not fire when the item in the combobox is changed.     Hi All, I have an NSTableView working correctly except when I'm editing one of the table items. If the user is still in edit mode, and it presses the Sheet OK button, the tableiew doesn't update. How do I force the tableview to commit the changes when the user press the ok button (closesheet). Also, how do I handle the ESC Key to cancel the editing? Sorry if the questions looks absurd, but I've been only on developing on Mac for a month.

  • WCF Duplex Interaction with Web Server

    Here is my scenario, and it is causing us a considerable amount of grief at the moment: We have a vendor web service which provides base level telephony functionality. This service has a SOAP api, which we are leveraging to build up a custom UI that is integrated into our in house web apps. The api functions on 2 levels. You make standard client calls into the service to initiate actions, such as Login, Place Call, Hang Up, etc. On a different thread, the service sends events back to the client to alert the user of things that are occurring on the system (agent successfully logged in, call was disconnected, etc). I implemented a WCF service to sit between the web server and the vendor service. This WCF service operates in duplex mode, establishing a 2 way connection with the web server. The web server makes outbound calls to the WCF service, which routes them to the vendor's web service. Events are received back to the WCF service, which passes them onto the web server via a callback channel on the WCF client. As events are received on the web server, they are placed into a hash table with the user's name as the key, and a .NET queue as the value to hold the event. Each event is enqueued to the agent who owns it. On a 2 second interval, the web page polls the web server via an ajax request to get new events for the logged in user. It hits the hash table for the user key, dequeues any events that are present, and serializes them back up to the web page. From there, they are processed in order and appropriate messages are displayed to the user. This implementation performs well in a single user scenario. The second I put more than 1 user on the system, I start getting frequent timeouts with the following CommunicationException: A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond We are running Windows Server 2008 R2 both servers. Both the web app and WCF service are running on .NET 3.5. The WCF service is running under the net.tcp protocol in duplex mode. The web app is ASP.NET MVC 2. Has anyone dealt with anything like this scenario? Is there a more efficient way (or a widely accepted pattern) to implement this?

  • How Can I create different selectors for accepting new connection in java NIO

    I want to write java tcp socket programming using java NIO. Its working fine. But I am using the same selector for accepting reading from and writing to the clients. How Can I create different selectors for accepting new connection in java NIO, reading and writing. Is there any online help. Actually when I am busy in reading or writing my selector uses more iterator. So If more number of clients are connected then performance of accepting new coneection became slow.
