  So, right now I've got a number of columns the user can sort by (Name, County, Active) and that's easy but messy. Looks something like this... Select Case e.SortExpression Case "Name" If (isDescending) Then resultsList.OrderByDescending(Function(a) a.Name).ToList() Else resultsList.OrderBy(Function(a) a.Name).ToList() End If Case "County" ... and so on what I would LIKE to do, is something more ... graceful, like this Private Function SortThatList(ByVal listOfStuff As List(Of Stuff), ByVal isDescending As Boolean, ByVal expression As Func(Of Stuff)) As List(Of Stuff) If (isDescending) Then Return listOfStuff.OrderByDescending(expression) Else : Return listOfStuff.OrderBy(expression) End If End Function but it doesn't like the datatype (Of TKey) ... I've tired Func(Of stuff, boolean) (got something in c# that works nicely like that) but can't seem to get this one to do what I want. Ideas? What's the magic syntax?

  I have a various data.frames with columns of the same length where I am trying to multiple 2 rows together element-wise and then sum this up. For example, below are two vectors I would like to perform this operation with. > a.1[186,] q01_a q01_b q01_c q01_d q01_e q01_f q01_g q01_h q01_i q01_j q01_k q01_l q01_m 3 3 3 3 2 2 2 3 1 NA NA 2 2 and > u.1[186,] q04_avl_a q04_avl_b q04_avl_c q04_avl_d q04_avl_e q04_avl_f q04_avl_g q04_avl_h q04_avl_i q04_avl_j q04_avl_k q04_avl_l q04_avl_m 4 2 3 4 3 4 4 4 3 4 3 3 3` The issue is that various rows have varying numbers of NA's. What I would like to do is skip the multiplication with any missing values ( the 10th and 11th position from my above example), and then after the addition divide by the number of elements that were multiplied (11 from the above example). Most rows are complete and would just be multiplied by 13. Thank you!

  I've got a list of frequently used hex colors that I'd like to list under my jPicker bound input text field and I'd like to figure out how to change the value of the jPicker active color without opening the jPicker color selector palette. I've managed to create a function that updates the input field thats bound to the jPicker, but the colors of the background and picker.gif do not update. I'd like to force the background colors to update as if the color was selected from jPicker itself. • CakePHP: find neighbors, order on 'name' or 'order'

  Hi, I have a list of ordered items, ordered according to the int field order. I'm creating a gallery in CakePHP 1.2 that has a prev and next button and those should link to the previous and next item according to their ordering, not according to their id. In order to get this result I've included the 'order' parameter to the find function, and populated it with 'Item.order'=>'DESC'. Still the result is an id ordered list. My question is: what do I do wrong? My controller: $this->Item->id = 16; $neighbours = $this->Item->find('neighbors', array('order'=>array('Item.order'=>'DESC'), 'fields'=>array('id','name')));

  Having a ModelFormSet built with modelformset_factory and using a model with an optional ForeignKey, how can I make empty (null) associations to validate on that form?   I've just unwrapped my new MacBook Pro (yay!) and am now setting it up properly for development. Since I want to avoid clutter, I'm wondering if I really need to install the Xcode tools at all (I never use the IDE or Mac specific tools), since I'll install a newer version of GCC anyway, using MacPorts. So, is there any benefit in installing Xcode? Is it necessary? What kind of set-up does it do behind the scenes? Basically: can I skip this or will it come back to haunt me because some Unix development tools just assume that OS X is always set up in this way?

  I wrote a system call that opens a directory and gets the file object and the dentry struct. Im trying to list all entries including entries in subdirectories using the list_for_each() macro. The problem is its only displaying whats currently in the dentry cache. If I open the directory with nautilus then rerun the system call, all the entries are listed. • SSRS: Master-detail report with two datasources

  I have two local data sources that I can push into the report. Works no problem. But how do I set up the report? One data source contains a list of employees, and info about them. The other contains a bunch of working hours for each employee. I would like to use a table for the list of employees, and then have another table for the working hours beneath each employee (with their working hours). Is this even possible? Do I have to use a Sub-Report? Would I have to merge them into one datasource? =/

  I have around 50-60 components and some of the fields are readonly. Now I want to set the tab index only for the fields that are read/write. Now the problem for me is, some of the components will be added according to the selection in my dropdown list box. Those components that are newly populated also contains some read only text boxes.   I am currently developing an application that uses chart control to create a histogram. The histogram displays data correctly however I would like to center the data. Right now the Min and Max are automatically set. I would like the graph to always force its to be displayed symmetrically. Here is an example of what I'm trying to accomplish. Basically I would like it to look like a normal distribution graph. Does anyone know how I can do the the following: Get the graph to be displayed symmetrically? Always show a zero line. My Query: I want to invoke a view that show properties of custom object, when user double click on any row of ListView. The ListView double click command is binded to the ListViewDoublClick Command in the view model. The CustomObject is in the event argument of listview double click command. To acheive this I have to pass the custom object ( or an unique id property of custom object through which I can retrieve the custom object from the collection) as command parameter. • RenderAction not finding action method in current controller in current area

  I'm creating an ASP.NET MVC 2 (RTM) project that uses areas. The Index action of the Home controller of one area needs to use RenderAction to generate a sub-section of the page. The action called is also defined in the same Home controller. So the call should just be: <% Html.RenderAction("List") %> However, I get an exception: A public action method 'List' was not found on controller 'RareBridge.Web.Areas.Events.Controllers.HomeController'. Note that I'm not in the "Events" area! I'm in a completely different area. If I remove the "Events" home controller, then the exception still occurs but names a different controller (still not the one I want it to call). I've also tried providing the controller name and area to the RenderAction method, but the same exception occurs. What is going on here? BTW: I am using Autofac as my IoC container

• jQueryUI Ajax.NET Postback Bug

  Hi, I have this ASP.NET page with ASP.NET UpdatePanel and jQueryUI droppable and sortable components. The page works fine in all browsers, but doesn't in Internet Explorer (IE8 tested). After I try to call ASP.NET AJAX event (by pressing my asp.net button inside the UpdatePanel) my sortable list stops working properly inside IE browser and the browser throws the following error: Message: Unspecified error. Line: 145 Char: 186 Code: 0 URI: http://code.jquery.com/jquery-1.4.2.min.js I found out that the problem is caused by the code on line 66: $("#droppable").droppable(); If I comment it out, the sortable list works fine after ajax postbacks. But it doesn't make sense. Does anyone know what could be wrong? Thanks. P.S. I am using jQueryUI 1.8.1 and jQuery 1.4.2
