  • Chrome/IE table cell positioning help

    I am making a tiny script to make a HTML element editable. When you click on an element, it gets replaced with a textarea, and you can basically enter the new text. When you press enter, the textarea is replaced with the original element with its innerHTML updated. The demo of the script is here: http://iambot.net/demo/editable/ Now the problem is with the inline table editing. It works perfectly on FF 3.6, but on Chrome/Safari, once the value of a cell is updated, the position of the updated cell shifts to the right by the width of a cell.(Just try the demo in Chrome/Safari) It totally messes up the whole table. I am a beginner in CSS and not able to identify where exactly I'm going wrong. Any help/pointers appreciated! Thanks.

    Searching for some script or service for online image resizing. I should have the ability to throw my imagelink, like http://site.com/bigimage.jpg, and it must give me this image after resizing like http://site-were-image-resized.com/sdf4234f21f.png. It would be amazing, if I can give some values, like height and width. If I upload script on my own site, it should have the ability to resize external images from some domains. Tryed to use http://www.darrenhoyt.com/demo/timthumb/, but it doesn't work with external images.

  • iOS - How to pass information from the VIEW to the Controller?

    I am fairly new to programming in general, and have been following the CS193p videos on iTunesU. I am currently doing assignment 3, and am having trouble getting a bit of information from the View sent to the View Controller. I believe I have set up the whole delegation thing correctly, so the question really is to how to get my View Controller to see a bit of information (such as self.bounds.size.width), which is a property that only the View has. Would this involve using self.dataSource? And if so, through what means could I pass this bit of information? Thanks!!

    Firefox and seems to render a hyphen followed by   differently to other browsers. Here is some test code that demonstrates the problem: <html> <body> <div style="border: 1px solid blue;width: 50px"> This text can break. Do&nbsp;not&nbsp;-&nbsp;break&nbsp;this&nbsp;text. </div> </body> </html> Notice how in Firefox the second sentence does not break, but in Chrome and IE it breaks at the hyphen. Does anyone know a good workaround so that the break does not occur?

Suppose it's stored in public/flash, there must be a better way to path to the swf than what I've done below.   • Fancybox2 Inline Content Gallery

    I am trying to create a gallery of inline content with Fancybox 2, and am failing miserably. I checked out some other resources online and they seem to indicate doing this relatively easily, yet, I cannot seem to get it to work.   • Alignment issues with IE7-8

    I have major issues with cross browser compatibility. This picture illustrates the problem: What code do I put in for IE7-8 so that my menu aligns properly? Right now it looks right in firefox but nothing else. This the the menu code she had (there might be other code associated but I don't know, see actual site): .custom .menu { height:25px; border: 1px none; float:right; } I have tried things mentioned in other threads, overflow:hidden; / giving a width / margin: 0 auto etc. Nothing works and only ends up breaking Firefox as well.

    Hello, I have a page that uses multiple dialogs for different things. Some dialogs may have buttons that others do not while other may need to be a different height than another... All of them have a set of params that will not change. My question, can I have a default like: $('.someElement').dialog({ width: 999, show: 'slide', hide: 'slide', ETC: 'some other option' }); and use it for all of my dialogs, then pass buttons or height to it dynamically when I open a dialog? It just seems wrong to have something like the above for every dialog I need... Thanks!

  • youtube video will not display in desktop Chrome

    Youtube video does not show up in a modal window when viewed in a desktop version of Chrome. The modal window pops up but the youtube video does not. https://animalhealth.pfizer.com/sites/pahweb/US/EN/Products/Pages/ClarifideStories.aspx It works in IE and Firefox on Windows7, works in Chrome on Android ICS and iOS6 iPad. It is on a sharepoint site but if I open a version saved to my desktop it works fine in chrome.   • Full background using :cover; makes adds horizontal scroll

    I am working on a website which needs a header with full background image & 650 height. At the moment i am using background-size: cover; property with 100% width. While, it's working it leaves an awkward horizontal scroll of about 50px on right side. Which is lot more prominent in smaller resolutions.     I have been attempting to remove a repeating header on all of my webpages for customization purposes, but have been unsuccessful finding what is causing this header repeat. I came across this code in the header, and after researching it, I can not find what its purpose is. Could this be my culprit for the repeating patterns?   • Does the '#' modifier for cropping images in Paperclip work only for square images?

    It is very well documented that you can create square thumbnails with center cropping with Paperclip (4) and Rails (4). I would like to have an image of very specific dimensions (e.g. 200x100) and if input an image of let's say 800x200 it is first resized to 400x100 and then the width (400) is cropped down to 200 pixel from the center (i.e. 100px cut from the right and 100 px cut from the left). I tried with 200x100# and it does not appear to work (i.e. the '#' has no effect). I have found that I could adapt other solutions such as this, but I was wondering if '#' is supposed to work only for cropping to square images, or is a Paperclip bug or I am doing something wrong...

  • What options I have to show a sentence parts with different color?

    I have a longer sentence 200 characters. I need to show on the screen having parts of them in different color, like highlighting search results, each with different color. The text should auto wrap with screen width, and have no break sections between parts. I meant with this that I can put sections on a new line. They will have to continue the previous section, only wrap when the screen is off. The best would be an EditText, as I need to allow editing also, but I am wondering I am able to change the color of various sentence parts, or just as a whole. What do you think, with what UI elements can I achieve this view?

  • Bootstrap site mobile view not using full viewport

    I'm currently making a responsive blog using the bootstrap 3.0 framework. I'm using the 1197 Max-width container for my content and it renders fine on desktops. However, when I try opening the site on my phone (I'm using an Android Galaxy Note 2), there is a lot of extra padding on the right and left sides of the viewport. I've tried following the API docs and guides as close as possible, but still can't get this to work. Here is the site I am working on http://www.justinbar.net Does anyone know what is going on with this? Am I doing something wrong, or do I need to override default behavior (which sounds a bit hacky to me).
