    When trying to call wave.getState() in my Google Wave gadget, I get back null (no state object). How can I initialize the Wave state object? I am working in the Wave Sandbox. My ModulePrefs contains the following: <Require feature="wave" /> <Require feature="rpc"/> I got the "rpc" feature from some google groups post when searching for a fix, but it doesn't seem to be any help. This changes the visual appearance of the gadget when the user puts the gadget in Edit mode (CTRL+E), by hiding the view DIV and displaying the edit DIV. The newButtonClick callback (which is attached to the link "a.newButton" in the edit container) is supposed to add Jeremias (Nate's Shadowrun character) to the gadget state, so that he'll be appear as a table row in edit mode. I have verified that the initializer method is called, and the view/edit mode switch works just fine (except the state is null). When I click on the new button link (the link at the bottom in edit mode), and trigger the newButtonClick handler, I get an error because wave.getState() also returns null. How can I initialize the wave state so that I can work with it? The purpose of my gadget will be to keep track of combat initiative order in a Shadowrun tabletop game (4th Ed). The actual book page dimensions are around 6x9", but each scanned page is 8.5x11", the size of the scanner bed. For much smaller PDF files I could throw it into Photoshop and crop the page, but this is a huge file. What is the best way to losslessly crop all of the pages of the file, in either Windows or OS X?

    I've made a script which copies the alt attribute of an image and puts it into a <span>. It also formulates the information divided by a hyphen. It works like a charm, but only with one image. I would also like to wrap a <div> around the image to prevent unnecessary markup. This works well except that I want to scroll to next image on a scroll gesture (now it just scrolls past few images before decelerating). I have couldn't find a appropriate way to do this, should I be using a FrameLayout instead ? How do I scroll to the next (or previous) image on scroll gesture ? Any help is appreciated, thanks.

    I've been trying to track down why Spring Security isn't creating the SPRING_SECURITY_REMEMBER_ME_COOKIE so I turned on logging for org.springframework.security.web.authentication.rememberme. At first glance, the logs make it seem like the login is failing but the login is actually successful in the sense that if I navigate to a page that requires authentication I am not redirected back to the login page. However, the logs appear to be saying the login credentials are invalid. Any ideas as to what is going on? So what I need is a possibility to call a method on the backing-bean. Additionally, this method should be called with a car id as its parameter.   • Communicate with the local machine from a web page

    Hello. We have a web application. There are physical devices that we need to be able to communicate with, and we have access to all of our clients computers to install whatever software we need. Now, for the question: Is there a way to make this browser-agnostic? As in, not requiring ActiveX controls? One of my ideas was to install a custom made webserver on each client and then have javascript on our webpage that communicates with that webserver. This could be done by the same way that http://earlz.biz.tm javascript can access subdomains assigned to 127.0.0.1 such as http://loopback.earlz.biz.tm The problem with this of course is that the client's custom made webserver would be forced to run on port 80(which will have conflicts at least sometimes), or we would have to use a nonstandard port for our web application, which is quite undesirable. Does anyone else have ideas on how to do this?

The button behaves like a toggle button where gps is enabled or disabled depending on whether it is pushed and it may hold a small spinner component while the gps is finding your position. Does anyone know if this component can be easily constructed using default components? If no, what would be the best way to develop such a component? Is the crosshair/target icon a generic icon that I can re-use?

    I've had a set of legacy pages running on my IIS7 server for at least a year. Sometime last week something changed and now this line: Response.Write CStr(myRS(0).name) & "=" & Cstr(myRS(0).value) which used to return nothing more exciting than the string: 'Updated=true' (the sproc processing input params, stores them to a table, checks for errors and when that's all done returns a success code by executing this statement: select 'true' as [Updated] Now my pageside error handler is being involved and offers: myError=Error from /logQuizScore.asp Error source: Microsoft VBScript runtime error Error number: 13 Error description: Type mismatch Important to note that all lots of pages use the same framework - same db, same coding format, connecitonstrings and (so far as I can tell) all others are working. Troubleshot to this point: The call to the stored procedure is working correctly (stuff is stored to the given table). The output from the stored procedure is working correctly (i can execute a direct call with the given parameters and stuff works. I can see profiler calling and passing. I can replace all code with 'select 'true' as updated' and the error is the same. everything up to the response.write statement above is correct. So something changed how ADO renders that particular recordset. So i try: Response.Write myRS.Item.count and get: Error number: 424 Error description: Object required The recordset object seems not to be instantiating but the command object _did execute. The same example tested in IE8, FF and Chrome behaves exactly as expected. I've already tried updating the element's class but this does not work if the browser's window has been opened maximized and no further size changes were made to the window (which is about 90% of the use cases we have for our product.... :( ) I'm stuck with a CSS-based solution however I think that I can make an exception in this case if it can easily be made IE7-specific (which means that other browsers will behave in a standard way with this). Please help!

    I have created a Dynamic Data site against an Entity Framework Model I have 2 fields which are nvarchar(max) in the DB and they do not get rendered on the list view This is probably a sensible default But how do I overide this? Have tried adding various attributes to my MetaData class e.g [ScaffoldColumn(true)] [UIHint("RuleData")] But no joy with that Any ideas?

  • 404 Error - HEAD request on default page

    I am working on a project where we are about to go to internal release. So we are working to clean up the small problems before then. I was looking at our logs and noticed a high number of 404 errors. On further inspection it seems that all of them are related to HEAD requests. I haven't been able to find any substantive information about the preferred method for handling this in a standards compliant manner. Is there anything out there that can point out the proper way to handle that.
