  • c# - PubNub JSON serialization code works in example project but not in my project

    I am making a Winamp plugin with the single function of sending the details of the song being played over HTTP to a webpage. It works like this: Winamp song event triggered - check for new song - publish to webpage using PubNub (C# API). So far I got to the stage where everything works exactly as it is supposed to, except for the PubNub code which doesn't serialize the object I'm passing for publishing into JSON. All I keep getting in the PubNub console is a mere {} - an empty JSON object. A little background on the project structure: I am using Sharpamp which is a custom library that enables making Winamp plugins with C#. I am also using the PubNub C# API. The gen_notifier_cs project is the C++ plugin wrapper created by Sharpamp. notifier_cs is where all my code resides. The two other projects are self explanatory I assume. I have referenced the PubNub API in notifier_cs, and also have referenced Sharpamp in both notifier_cs and PubNub API. So, the objects that need to get serialized are of a class Song as defined in Sharpamp: public class Song { public string Title { get; internal set; } public string Artist { get; internal set; } public string Album { get; internal set; } public string Year { get; internal set; } public bool HasMetadata { get; internal set; } public string Filename { get; internal set; } } So let's say if I have a song object with song data in it, I would go pubnub.publish("winamp_pipe", song); to publish it and PubNub will automatically serialize the data into JSON. But that's just not working in my solution. To test why it wasn't serializing, I copied that class to the example code file in the PubNub API. Visual Studio changed the class to this (notice the public Song() method): public class Song { public Song() { return; } public string Album { get; set; } public string Artist { get; set; } public string Filename { get; set; } public bool HasMetadata { get; set; } public string Title { get; set; } public string Year { get; set; } } On the same example file I initiated a default song object with some values: Song song = new Song(); song.Album = "albumname"; song.Artist = "artistname"; song.HasMetadata = true; song.Title = "songtitle"; song.Year = "2012"; And published it: pubnub.publish("winamp_pipe", song); and it worked! I got the JSON object in the PubNub channel! {"Album":"albumname","Artist":"artistname","Filename":null,"HasMetadata":true,"Title":"songtitle","Year":"2012"} So, I tried replacing the "new" Song class with the original one defined in Sharpamp. I tried adding another class definition in the notifier_cs project but that clashes with the one in Sharpamp which I have to rely on. I have been trying so many things as far as I could come up with. Needless to say none prevailed. Still, all I get is an empty JSON object. I have been pulling out my hair for the last day. I know this post is super long but I appreciate your input nonetheless.     I need to convert videos for use in both a flash player and the iphone/ipod touch.   • Recommend a good db4o viewer

    I'm playing around with db4o, and I have the Object Manager viewer thingy for Visual Studio. It seems okay, but not exactly on par with tools like HeidiSQL/SQL Studio/etc., not to mention that it locks the db4o file--I can't use my db4o app and Object Manager at the same time. Maybe I'm using it wrong, but regardless, I'd like to know what else is out there. What tools would you recommend for looking at and manipulating db4o files?

  • Operation not permitted when starting Unicorn

    I've created an nginx/unicorn/capistrato setup on Ubuntu (Amazon EC2) by following mostly this guide. I guess everything is set up like it should but when I start Unicorn I get (a LOT of) this error in the log: E, [2012-09-08T08:57:20.658092 #12356] ERROR -- : Operation not permitted (Errno::EPERM) /home/deployer/apps/bridgekalenderen.no/shared/bundle/ruby/1.9.1/gems/unicorn-4.3.1/lib/unicorn/worker.rb:82:in `initgroups' I see it's related to the user's permissions but I just can't figure out what I've left out. The server starts up nicely if I start it with sudo (or, rvmsudo, really). The user has sudo capabilities, I have chmod'ed the app several times so the file permissions there should be ok. The unicorn socket in /tmp is owned by the deployer user, so that shouldn't be the problem either. Does anybody have a clue where to look?

  • Python Ctypes Read/WriteProcessMemory() - Error 5/998 Help!

    Please don't get scared but the following code, if you are familiar with ctypes or C it should be easy to read. I have been trying to get my ReadProcessMemory() and WriteProcessMemory() functions to be working for so long and have tried almost every possibility but the right one. It launches the target program, returns its PID and handle just fine. But I always get a error code of 5 - ERROR_ACCESS_DENIED. When I run the read function(forget the write for now). I am launching this program as what I believe to be a CHILD process with PROCESS_ALL_ACCESS or CREATE_PRESERVE_CODE_AUTHZ_LEVEL. I have also tried PROCESS_ALL_ACCESS and PROCESS_VM_READ when I open the handle. I can also say that it is a valid memory location because I can find it on the running program with CheatEngine. As for VirtualQuery() I get an error code of 998 - ERROR_NOACCESS which further confirms my suspicion of it being some security/privilege problem. After dd'ing the image to the USB stick, I plug it into the internal USB header and turn the machine on. After selecting from GRUB, it displays the following: , bss=0x0 It sits there for 2-4 minutes, then finally boots the OS and displays the following: WARNING: Couldn't read ACPI SRAT table from BIOS. lgrp support will be limited to one group. I've tried this with two different USB sticks. I've seen some mentions on the SmartOS website about people running it on an N40L, booting from USB, so maybe it's just broken hardware?     So I have a project where there is some automatic initialization going on through some classes that are created automatically as global variables (yeah they are static instances). At a point inside this (it has no relation with the C# GUI for the user, so it isn't derived from any C# class) I need to see if a flag is set or not. I use toolstrip menu with checked and unchecked status in order to set or unset the flag. The problem is that I have difficulties to see if the flag is checked or not from this static class. My class is inside a different project/namespace and a DLL is created what later is linked to the GUI of the application. The GUI depends from this Manager class so making the Manager class to depend from the GUI is not an option.   • Linux - Only first virtual interface can ping external gateway

    I created 3 virtual interfaces with different mac addresses all linked to the same physical interface. I see that they successfully arp for the gw and they can ping (the request is coming in the packet capture in wireshark). However the ping utility does not count the responses. Is there any way to force the GC to give priority in collection of these JNI proxies? I mean is there a way to cause GC to concentrate on a particular kind of object, namely the JNI proxies? Thanks.

I'm only paying about $5 USD per month, so I don't expect <0.1 loads, but ~10 is worrisome. Is it not? What have I done until now?
