    Is postresql capable of doing a full text search, based on 'half' a word? For example i'm trying to seach foor tree, but i tell postgres to search for 'tr'. I can't find such a solution that is capable of doing this. Currently i'm using this select * from test, to_tsquery('tree') as q where vectors @@ q ; But i like to do something like this: select * from test, to_tsquery('tr%') as q where vectors @@ q ;

    HI One of my requirement is to have prefix on all the tables of the django based project (Because db is hosted on shared server). I have used db_table Meta option to set the prefix for the tables which I have created. Now my query is how do I set the prefix for tables provided by django.contrib.     Hello, I have a table containing last_updated_1 and last_updated_2 columns, used respectively for text and images update time on a post. I wish I could get a result set of 10 rows based on all time last updated records contained in the 2 columns, ex. row 1 = last_updated_1 record, row 2 = last_updated_2 record, row 3 = last_updated_1 record, etc. How could I compare inside a MySQL query the both columns values, to get unique & mixed result set ?     Hello, my application (ASP.NET MVC) shows a page which loads data constantly, at certain intervals. The jQuery script calls a controller and this one renders a different partial view, based on certain conditions. This partial view is the appended to the DOM with jQuery; previous elements are removed with the empty() method. I've realized that after one day the browser loads something like 600Mb of memory. What am I doing wrong? Thanks Alberto

    I need to update a row with a formula based on the largest value of two DATETIME columns. I would normally do this: GREATEST(date_one, date_two) However, both columns are allowed to be NULL. I need the greatest date even when the other is NULL (of course, I expect NULL when both are NULL) and GREATEST() returns NULL when one of the columns is NULL. This seems to work: GREATEST(COALESCE(date_one, date_two), COALESCE(date_two, date_one)) But I wonder... am I missing a more straightforward method?

    I saw code which works like this: do_something($param) || warn "something went wrong\n"; and I also saw code like this: eval { do_something_else($param); }; if($@) { warn "something went wrong\n"; } Should I use eval/die in all my subroutines? Should I write all my code based on stuff returned from subroutines? Isn't eval'ing the code ( over and over ) gonna slow me down?

    I have been searching for ages now for a good .Net based VoIP library. After having tried conaito and SIP.Net I have still haven't found anything that truly fits my needs. Basically all of these are constructed using ActiveX. Unfortunately ActiveX and WPF don't play well together. And ClickOnce Deployment doesn't register Interop COM components. I need to find a good, pure .Net managed code implementation.

  • how to get around the command line length limit

    I've been working on a small and simple program that i drop files onto and based on certian rules they are moved to diffrent places. the program works fine unless i drop more than a few files on the program then it kicks back an error (that appears to be more windows than anything) that the start up command c:\myapp.exe \file \file \file is to long I realize i could set up a background proccess but i really would prefer that this program not run in the backround (where it would be idle 99.999999999% of the time) Can anyone think of any way around this limitation?
