    What I am trying to accomplish is using jQuery UI dialog method from my own JavaScript source code file. I have this kind of links in the Site.Master <script src="/Scripts/jquery-1.4.2.js" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="/Scripts/jquery.validate.js" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="/Scripts/jquery-ui.js" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="/Scripts/Common.js" type="text/javascript"></script> Common.js is my own helper file. jQuery works fine there, but when I try to call for example: $(document).ready(function() { $("#dialog").dialog(); }); I'll get "Microsoft JScript runtime error: Object doesn't support this property or method" Any ideas why this happens? jQuery Works fine, but jQuery UI doesn't.

  • Browser displays page without styles for a short moment (visual glitch)

    I have observed that, very infrequently, Internet Explorer (7 or 8, it does not matter) displays our web pages (www.epsitec.ch) a short time without applying the CSS. The layout appears completely broken, with everything displayed sequentially from top to bottom. When the page has finished loading, everything finally gets displayed properly. Our web pages do not use any fancy scripting, just two javascript inclusions for QuantCast and Google Analytics, done at the end of the page. By the way, we already had the issue before adding the QuantCast script.     I set my wordpress permalink structure to /%postname%/ but now when I go to a page other than the home page (for example if I went to somelink.com/about) I lose all javascript references. I think this happens because the links to the js files are no longer right as it is in the imaginary folder "about".   • drupal form textfield #default_value not working

    I am working on a custom module with multi-page form on drupal 6. I found that #default_value is not working when my '#type' = 'textfield'. However, when '#type'='textarea', it displays correctly with the '#default_value' specified. Basically, I wrote a FormFactory to return different form definition ($form) based on the post parameter received. Initially, it returns the display of directories list, user then selects from radio buttos until a specific directory contains a xml file, it will become edit form. The edit form will have text fields display the data (#default_value) inside the xml file, however the type 'textarea' works here rather than 'textfield'. How can I make my '#default_value' work in this case? Below is the non-working field definition: $form['pageset']['newsTitle'] = array( '#type' => 'textfield', '#title' => 'News Title', '#default_value' => "{$element->newsTitle}", '#rows' => 1, '#required' => TRUE, ); Then I changed it to textarea as shown below to make it work: $form['pageset']['newsTitle'] = array( '#type' => 'textarea', '#title' => 'News Title', '#default_value' => "{$element->newsTitle}", '#rows' => 1, '#required' => TRUE, );

  • Suggestions of the easiest algorithms for some Graph operations

    Hi, The deadline for this project is closing in very quickly and I don't have much time to deal with what it's left. So, instead of looking for the best (and probably more complicated/time consuming) algorithms, I'm looking for the easiest algorithms to implement a few operations on a Graph structure. The operations I'll need to do is as follows: List all users in the graph network given a distance X List all users in the graph network given a distance X and the type of relation Calculate the shortest path between 2 users on the graph network given a type of relation Calculate the maximum distance between 2 users on the graph network Calculate the most distant connected users on the graph network A few notes about my Graph implementation: The edge node has 2 properties, one is of type char and another int. They represent the type of relation and weight, respectively. The Graph is implemented with linked lists, for both the vertices and edges. I mean, each vertex points to the next one and each vertex also points to the head of a different linked list, the edges for that specific vertex. What I know about what I need to do: I don't know if this is the easiest as I said above, but for the shortest path between 2 users, I believe the Dijkstra algorithm is what people seem to recommend pretty often so I think I'm going with that. I've been searching and searching and I'm finding it hard to implement this algorithm, does anyone know of any tutorial or something easy to understand so I can implement this algorithm myself? If possible, with C source code examples, it would help a lot. I see many examples with math notations but that just confuses me even more. Do you think it would help if I "converted" the graph to an adjacency matrix to represent the links weight and relation type? Would it be easier to perform the algorithm on that instead of the linked lists? I could easily implement a function to do that conversion when needed. I'm saying this because I got the feeling it would be easier after reading a couple of pages about the subject, but I could be wrong. I don't have any ideas about the other 4 operations, suggestions?

    The class below contains the field city. I need to dynamically determine the field's name as it is typed in the class declaration i.e. I need to get the string "city" from an instance of the object city. I have tried to do this by examining its Type in DoSomething() but can't find it when examining the contents of the Type in the debugger. Is it possible? public class Person { public string city = "New York"; public Person() { } public void DoSomething() { Type t = city.GetType(); string field_name = t.SomeUnkownFunction(); //would return the string "city" if it existed! } } Some people in their answers below have asked me why I want to do this. Here's why. In my real world situation, there is a custom attribute above city. [MyCustomAttribute("param1", "param2", etc)] public string city = "New York"; I need this attribute in other code. To get the attribute, I use reflection. And in the reflection code I need to type the string "city" MyCustomAttribute attr; Type t = typeof(Person); foreach (FieldInfo field in t.GetFields()) { if (field.Name == "city") { //do stuff when we find the field that has the attribute we need } } Now this isn't type safe. If I changed the variable "city" to "workCity" in my field declaration in Person this line would fail unless I knew to update the string if (field.Name == "workCity") //I have to make this change in another file for this to still work, yuk! { } So I am trying to find some way to pass the string to this code without physically typing it. Yes, I could declare it as a string constant in Person (or something like that) but that would still be typing it twice. Phew! That was tough to explain!!   • Included php file calling Javascript function

    Hi there! Here's the deal. I've got index.php which links to an internal JS file in it's header. index.php then includes another .php file, which outputs this: + add file. addFile() is a Javascript function defined in the external JS file. By doing this nothing happens, the included php does not "see" the JS function. Encapsulating the JS in the included PHP makes it all work. But I don't want to do it that way. Any ideas?     I'm invoking a rest service that returns JSON like this: { "some.key" : "some value", "another.key" : "another value" } I would like to think that I can invoke this service with a java.util.Map as the response type but that's not working for me. I get this exception: org.springframework.web.client.RestClientException: Could not extract response: no suitable HttpMessageConverter found for response type [interface java.util.Map] Should I just specify String as the response type and convert the JSON to a Map?

    i'm trying to use the wave module to read wav files in python. whats not typical of my applications is that I'm NOT using a file or a filename to read the wav file, but instead i have the wav file in a buffer.     I have data on which I need to count +1 if a particular condition exists or another condition doesn't exist. I'm using SQL Server 2008. I shred the following simplified sample XML into a temp table and validate it: <product type="1"> <param type="1"> <item mode="0" weight="1" /> </param> <param type="2"> <item mode="1" weight="1" /> <item mode="0" weight="0.1" /> </param> <param type="3"> <item mode="1" weight="0.75" /> <item mode="1" weight="0.25" /> </param> </product> The validation in concern is the following rule: For each product type, for each param type, mode may be 0 & (1 || 2). In other words, there may be a 0(s), but then 1s or 2s are required, or there may be only 1(s) or 2(s). There cannot be only 0s, and there cannot be 1s and 2s. The only part I haven't figured out is how to detect if there are only 0s. This seems like a "not having" problem. The validation code (for this part): WITH t1 AS ( SELECT SUM(t.ParamWeight) AS S, COUNT(1) AS C, t.ProductTypeID, t.ParamTypeID, t.Mode FROM @t AS t GROUP BY t.ProductTypeID, t.ParamTypeID, t.Mode ), ... I'm sure there is a simple solution, but it's evading me right now. EDIT: I thought of a "cheat" that works perfectly.
