• Construct sentences from tabular data

  I have a huge set of html files an have to retrieve the meaningful information from them. Most of the task is accomplished, now the problem is with HTML tables. I have some literature on how to extract meaningful tables from html, but my problem is with creating meaningful sentences from tabular data (or attribute value pairs extracted from a table). Are there any NLP/Machine learning techniques to do this? Here is what I expect. Suppose below is a sample table: col_Name: Sumeet col_year: 2011 col_winner: quiz Can this be made to something meaningful like "Sumeet won quiz in 2011"?

• Which is the appropriate content-type meta tag value ?

  I have a question about the meta tag content-type. When starting to build my site (HTML+PHP+JS), I copied a lot of the meta tags over from elsewhere, and I have, amongst others, the following: <meta http-equiv="content-type" content="application/xhtml+xml; charset=iso-8859-1" /> Now, I've seen that tag is being used a lot with the value "text/html". I've been searching the web but could not find a comprehensive explanation regarding what the difference between both is. The "text/html" intuitively sounds more straightforward to me. Should I change my tag to that, or might the "application/xhtml+xml" be an equivalent solution ? Alternatively, can anyone point me to a resource where the different values for these tags are listed and explained in a clear manner? Thanks in advance

• Joomla url issue with sh404SEF

  it's couple of months I've been using SH404SEF With my site. But in my site I'm getting url's in the form: http://www.downloadformsindia.com/Income-Tax-Forms/all-income-tax-return-itr-forms-2010-2011.html?task=view If I remove this suffix(?task=view), it takes us to the same page. I had raised this issue in SH404SEF forum, and I was told that this data is taken as parameter by search engines hence ignored. I want to redirect using RewriteMatch in .htaccess all such url's to the url's without ?task=view ones : ....downloadformsindia.com/Income-Tax-Forms/all-income-tax-return-itr-forms-2010-2011.html?task=view to be redirected to http://www.downloadformsindia.com/Income-Tax-Forms/all-income-tax-return-itr-forms-2010-2011.html So my question is: Will this redirection create 404's in the Google webmaster. I've thousand's of pages in the site

  We have our old site into core PHP and we have developed it again into Joomla 1.5 last year( because of some limitations we have to build it into 1.5). Now the problem is the URL of sites changed as we have use SEO URLS on joomla. In between we have use .htaccess to redirect user from old URL to new like this Redirect /pages/oldpage.php http://www.mydomain.com/products/category/new_page.html Is this good practice to redirect user to new URL or not?(we have used same server). One more thing, We have used splash page on our site, and to set up it we have made some changes and because of it one of the important link is not working, and it is http://www.mydomail.com/index.php How can I get rid of it? I have used DirectoryIndex splash.html home.html index.php in .htaccess to open splash page first when someone open my site http://www.mydomain.com. • What would you call the concept of CofeeScript or Sass to be?

  There is this rising trend with web development of making new pseudo languages to extend the functionality of JavaScript, CSS and HTML given that those are static and their metamorphosis or evolution is painfully slow due to the variety of browser providers. So I am currently having a concept dilema on how to categorize them for a book I was made to write by my employer as no one seems to have a name for these pseudo languages. A tiny list of them : JavaScript: LiveScript, Metalua, Uberscript, EmberScript. HTML: Razor, Java Scriptlets. CSS : LESS, Sass. I believe the concept of these pseudo languages and a language or an extension of a language is quite different. First these languages do not extend any functionality currently existing on HTML or CSS or JavaScript, they simply work around it. And also they do not "compile" to an intermediate language, they are merely 1-1 translated to something that only then can be compiled. What would you call them?

  I'm trying to set up a mobile redirect for a site with 2 subfolders, and I cannot get both to work at the same time. This is the structure of the site www.mysite.com/EN/ www.mysite.com/ES/ This is a bilingual site so each subfolder contains the files corresponding to each language version. Then I was using a 301 redirect, and setting up the index in /EN/ as the main index. Everything was getting redirected to it. I was using DirectoryIndex index.html Redirect /index.html http://www.mysite.com/EN/index.html and several Rewritecond to redirect mysite.com and old urls to the new URL. It worked fine before I decided to add a mobile version - m.mysite.com. I used the solution provided in http://stackoverflow.com/questions/3680463/mobile-redirect-using-htaccess, and it redirects my mobile version properly, but now the desktop is both working. Besides, my mobile version must be bilingual as well.

• How to populate a form list with buttons using javascript

  I made a script that, when you press one button(accessories) the selection(mylist) populates with one array(accessoryData), and when you hit the other button(weapons) the other array(weaponData) populates the selection. However, in the current state of the code the second button press is not re-populating the selection. What is wrong here? Also if there is a more efficient way to do this, that might be helpful. • Creating static NAT blocks outbound traffic Cisco ASA

  Hi Everyone, I have two web servers sitting behind a Cisco ASA 5505, which I don't have much experience with. I'm trying to create two static NATs. One static NAT that goes to xx.xx.xx.150 and another that goes to xx.xx.xx.151. I've created the static NAT for the .150 web server and it works FINE. Incoming and outgoing traffic work great. This is the staging web server. I now need to duplicate the setup for the production web server. So, I connect the webserver to the firewall, change the public IP address on one of the NICs reboot the server and I have outbound internet access. Then I run the command: static (inside,outside) xx.xx.xx.150 192.168.1.x which is successful. I then run the command: access-list acl-outside permit tcp any host xx.xx.xx.150 eq 80 Which is successful. I then try to browse the internet and I get nothing. I try to telnet in through port 80 and I get nothing (though I'm guessing because the response to the telnet request is being blocked). I've tried this with the production web server and then I tried it with another web server that is for internal testing and have the exact same problem. Both work fine until I run the static NAT rule and then no outbound internet access. I have a feeling that it's something simple that I'm missing, but my limited experience with this device is killing me. Below I've pasted the current configuration. I'm currently trying to get this to work on the .153 server which is the internal testing server. • Bad motherboard / controller / HDs?

  On a leased server, I am running into some timing issues with an application that requires precise timing. Server is a Dual Xeon E5410 running on a Supermicro X7DVL-3 motherboard under CentOs 5.5 x64. The application I am running is timer sensitive and keeps sensing drift whether under load or at idle, but especially under load. I did some investigating with atop and dd and found some mind-blowing numbers. Mind you, I am no Linux guru but something sure seems out of whack. I ran: dd bs=4096 if=/dev/zero of=/bigtestfile to generate disk activity. Regardless whether I wrote it to sda or sdb my DSK value in atop would go over 100%, at one time peaking at 1700%. Again it does not matter if I am writing to sda or sdb.   I'm trying to get connected to another ASA via Cisco VPN Client. I am behind an ASA 5505 myself and I am tryihng to VPN to a 5510. I get the message: Secure VPN Connection terminated locally by the Client. Reason 412: The remote peer is no longer responding. I can connect to the other ASA if I use a normal cheap Linksys. • Cisco ASA: Allowing and Denying VPN Access based on membership to an AD group

  I have a Cisco ASA 5505 connecting to an Active Directory server for VPN authentication. Usually we'd restrict this to a particular OU, but in this case users which need access are spread across multiple OUs. So, I'd like to use a group to specify which users have remote access. I've created the group and added the users, but I'm having trouble figuring out how to deny users which aren't in that group. Right now, if someone connects they get assigned the correct group policy "companynamera" if they are in that group, so the LDAP mapping is working. However, users who are not in that group still authenticate fine, and their group policy becomes the LDAP path of their first group, i.e. CN=Domain Users,CN=Users,DC=example,DC=com, and then are still allowed access. How do I add a filter so that I can map everything that isn't "companynamera" to no access? The configuration is as follows. I am working under the assumption that this is a Windows file sharing permission issue or a network access policy issue, but of course, I could be wrong. It is my understanding that the Data Collector runs in the security context of the SYSTEM account, which for domain members appears on the network as MYDOMAIN\machineaccount. It is also my understanding from reading numerous pieces of documentation that setting the ANONYMOUS LOGON permissions as I have above should allow these computer accounts and non-domain-joined computers to access the share. To test connectivity, I set up the Windows XP Mode virtual machine (VM) on ACT-Server. In the VM, I opened a command prompt running as SYSTEM (using the old "at" command trick). I used this command prompt to run explorer.exe. In this Windows Explorer instance, I typed \ACT-Server\ACT into the address bar, and then I was prompted for logon credentials. The goal, though, was not to be prompted. I also used the "net use /delete" command in the command prompt window to delete connections to the ACT-Server\IPC$ share each time my connection attempt failed. I have made sure that the appropriate exceptions are Since ACT-Server is a domain member, the "Network access: Sharing and security model for local accounts" security policy is set to "Classic - local users authenticate as themselves". In spite of this, I still tried enabling the Guest account and adding permissions for it on the share to no effect. What am I missing here? How do I allow anonymous logons to a shared folder as a step toward getting my ACT Data Collectors to deposit their data correctly? Am I even on the right track, or is the issue elsewhere?

I didn't found anything helpful by reading all related RFCs, there just NAS-IP-Addess or NAS-Identifier is required, but this attributes usually represents IP address of the NAS and this address can not be used as a robust identifier, because it's often possible to fall into the case when 2 different NASes are running on the same server and this attributes can not be customized. Any ideas?

  I'm trying to leverage NH to map to a data model that is a loose interpretation of the EAV/CR data model. I have most of it working but am struggling with mapping the Entity.Attributes collection. I can create an EntityAttribute entity and persist it directly so that part of the hierarchy is working. I'm just not sure how to map the EntityAttributes collection to the Entity entity. Note the EntityAttributes table could (and does) contain multiple rows for a given EntityId/AttributeId combination: EntityId AttributeId AttributeValue -------- ----------- -------------- 1 1 Blue 1 1 Green StringAttributes row looks like this for this example: StringAttributeId AttributeName ----------------- -------------- 1 FavoriteColor How can I effectively map this data model to my Entity domain such that Entity.Attributes("FavoriteColors") returns a collection of favorite colors?   Railroad is a great UML tool for Ruby on Rails. It can automatically generate class diagrams of models and controllers. For models, a railroad-generated class diagram shows attributes of each model and the associations between one model and another. A sample diagram can be found here. It is very useful for a developer to see attributes and associations of models. While attributes and associations reveal the inner states and relationships of models, methods specify their behaviours. They are all desirable in a class diagram. I would like railroad to generate a class diagram that also lists methods for models, which will help me to know what each model does. I know methods are displayed in a diagram that is generated for controllers, but I don't see such an option for a diagram of models. Does someone know how to do that with railroad? Or is that possible? Thanks!

• Refactoring a custom User model to user UserProfile: Should I create a custom UserManager or add use

  I have been refactoring an app that had customized the standard User model from django.contrib.auth.models by creating a UserProfile and defining it with AUTH_PROFILE_MODULE. The problem is the attributes in UserProfile are used throughout the project to determine the User sees. I had been creating tests and putting in this type of statement repeatedly: user = User.objects.get(pk=1) user_profile = user.get_profile() if user_profile.karma > 10: do_some_stuff() This is tedious and I'm now wondering if I'm violating the DRY principle. Would it make more sense to create a custom UserManager that automatically loads the UserProfile data when the user is requested. I could even iterate over the UserProfile attributes and append them to the User model. This would save me having to update all the references to the custom model attributes that litter the code. Of course, I'd have to reverse to process for to allow the User and UserProfile models to be updated correctly. Which approach is more Django-esque?

• How do I reduce number of redundant requests with mod_perl properly?

  In a fairly big legacy project, I've refactored several hairy modules into Moose classes. Each of these modules requires database access to (lazy) fetch its attributes. Since those objects are used pretty heavily, I want to reduce the number of redundant requests, for example for unchanged data. Now, how do I do that properly? I've got several alternatives: Implement caching in my Moose classes via a role to store them in memcached with expiration of 5-10 minutes (probably not too difficult, but tricky with lazy attributes) update: KiokuDB could probably help here, have to read up about attributes Migrate to DBIx::Class (needs to be done anyway) and implement caching on this level (DBIC will probably take most of the pain away just by itself) Somehow make my objects persist inside the mod_perl process (no clue how to do this :() How would you do this and what do you consider a sane way? Is caching data preferred on object or the ORM level?

  Hi Rails'ers, I encountered some problem while trying to translate my model's names and attributes in a Rails 2.3.5 app. I have the following model: class BillingPlan < ActiveRecord::Base validates_presence_of :billing_option_id belongs_to :order belongs_to :user belongs_to :billing_option end When validation fails, my models attributes are translated correctly, but the modelname itself is not.   I have 2 forms, A and B. On the Form A, I click a button and an Image is being loaded to a PictureBox located ona the Form B. • Python lazy property decorator

  Recently I've gone through an existing code base and refactored a lot of instance attributes to be lazy, ie. not be initialised in the constructor but only upon first read. These attributes do not change over the lifetime of the instance, but they're a real bottleneck to calculate that first time and only really accessed for special cases. I find myself typing the following snippet of code over and over again for various attributes across various classes: class testA(object): def __init__(self): self._a = None self._b = None @property def a(self): if self._a is None: # Calculate the attribute now self._a = 7 return self._a @property def b(self): #etc Is there an existing decorator to do this already in Python that I'm simply unaware of? Or, is there a reasonably simple way to define a decorator that does this? I'm working under Python 2.5, but 2.6 answers might still be interesting if they are significantly different.
