  There are many solutions suggested on Stack Overflow but i did not find it one that satisfy my requirements. I was using Jquery Numeric plugin but i found that is not working (does not allow pasting) on FireFox 3.6 on Osx. It is probably worth pointing out that, like in the example provided above, the email addresses are shown alphabetically and the address being selected is the first alphabetically (just in case that matters). I would like to set the device to always select the reply address specified in the mailbox, or at least be able to ensure that the address I want is selected if I have to select it manually on the device, but cannot find any way to make this happen. Can anybody help?

• Cheapest Embedded System with Wireless Connectivity?

  Problem: I'm trying to capture some information coming from keyboard, mouse and barcode reader connected to some PC via PS/2, USB and/or RS-232, before information get to PC and send it over the Internet to some central server. I'm thinking to do so by using some kind of hardware interface (middleware, if you like) between PC and input devices. I thought this interface can be embedded PC, PDA or simply some mobile phone with wireless connectivity. PS/2 and RS-232 could be converted to USB using some USB convector/hub that connects to one of these interface systems. Then some special API programming take place to communicate between PC, input devices and wireless server, in the form of application running on the interface system. What's the cheapest solution that can achieve this? Or possibly any other solution?

• Skype 4.2 crashes when connecting to one specific person

  ok i have Skype 4.2 on Windows Vista 32 bit. Skype was working fine with no problems at all but a situation came up and i had to reformat my laptop. Since the reformat skype doesnt connect to just one person on my contacts list. Ive uninstalled reinstalled multiple times, even removed him from my contacts and readded but to no avail. He is on Skype mobile with his phone not sure if this is a prob as it wasnt before. any help or advice here would be much appreciated.

• Wireless WAN (WWAN) on a Lenovo T500 - built-in or do I need a WWAN modem?

  I use a Lenovo ThinkPad 2055-3AU at work and I want to get a Wireless WAN data plan with a local mobile telecom provider. I've read conflicting reports online about whether my system is "WWAN-ready" or not. How can I find out which wireless WAN providers (if any) my system can support without buying a separate modem? I looked through Device Manager for anything resembling a WWAN device and didn't see anything, but I also wiped the machine when I bought it and clean-installed Windows 7 with only out-of-the-box Windows and Windows-Update drivers, so it's possible that the device is there but the drivers aren't installed. FWIW, the support page at http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/quickPath.do?quickPathEntry=20553AU does not specfically list anything about Wireless WAN.

• Should I be using Windows Live Mail or Outlook?

  I have been using Windows Live Mail now for a few years, and like the interface, ect ect. Just having a clear out of my domains emails, and think I should set up the other accounts properly. I have Outlook (using 2010 beta), so I thought maybe I should use it? Can anyone give me reasons for and against both bits of software? I did look for some comparisons between the two, but can't find much. Plus I always value up to date information. Bit more background: Using 1 Hotmail and 5 IMAP accounts (possibly more). Use a Windows Mobile. Any way I can sync the calendar and tasks OTA to my hotmail and back down to outlook? I know this is probably more a discussion question (sorry), but I would argue that it can be answered, as it is a question relating to what I myself, in my circumstances would be best. • How do I connect to SDF on a Mobile device from desktop application?

  C# WinForms .Net 3.5 to SQL CE 3.5 on Mobile 6.1 Device I'd like to make a connection from a desktop application to a SDF database on my Windows Mobile device while it's connected via ActiveSync. Visual Studio lets me create a Data Connection to my device. The connections tests OK and I can view the data in the database using Visual Studio. I then create a form and try to fill a DataGridView. When I run the program I get an error that the path to the data base is not valid. How am I supposed to specify the Mobile device path in the connection string? In my App.Config, I've tried variations on the path, but none of them work: connectionString="Data Source=Mobile Device\Program Files\SqlCeViaActiveSync\Orders.sdf" connectionString="Data Source=\Mobile Device\Program Files\SqlCeViaActiveSync\Orders.sdf" connectionString="Data Source=Program Files\SqlCeViaActiveSync\Orders.sdf" connectionString="Data Source=\Program Files\SqlCeViaActiveSync\Orders.sdf" The full connection string section looks like this: <connectionStrings> <add name="SqlCeViaActiveSync.Properties.Settings.OrdersConnectionString" connectionString="Data Source=Mobile Device\Program Files\SqlCeViaActiveSync\Orders.sdf" providerName="Microsoft.SqlServerCe.Client.3.5" /> </connectionStrings> Also, I did make a reference to Microsoft.SqlServerCe.Client, as I found a few articles that mentioned it was necessary.   This tiny snippet of code show you how to have your select lists autopostback its containing form when the selected value changes. When the DOM is fully loaded, we get all select nodes that have an attribute of “data-autopostback” with a value of “true”. We wire up the “change” JavaScript event to all these select nodes. This event is fired as soon as the user changes their selection with the mouse.  When the event is fired, we find the closest form tag for the select node that raised the event and submit the form. $(document).ready(function () { $("select:[data-autopostback=true]").change(function () { $(this).closest("form").submit(); }); }); A select tag with autopostback enabled will look like this <select id="selCategory" name="Category" data-autopostback="true"> <option value='1'>Electronics</option> <option value='2'>Books</option> </select> The reason I am using “data-" suffix in the attribute is to be HTML5 Compliant. A custom data attribute is an attribute in no namespace whose name starts with the string "data-", has at least one character after the hyphen, is XML-compatible, and contains no characters in the range U+0041 to U+005A (LATIN CAPITAL LETTER A to LATIN CAPITAL LETTER Z). The snippet can be used with any HTML page.

• Codeigniter + JQuery + Processing.js to replace a Delphi App

  So, I've got a mandate to make our aged trillion lined Delphi app web based and it needs to make heavy use of the <canvas> element (HTML5 compatibility doesn't seem to be a big issue since we can just make our clients use a compatible browser the way we'd make them use a compatible version of Windows in the win32 environment). The Delphi app in question is almost completely database driven and will still pretty much continue to be developed as the main product. What I am tasked with is pretty much recreating a scaled down version of the program that performs the major functions of the whole program. I couldn't find any frameworks that simulate windows forms using the canvas element, I'm assuming this is probably by design since it is easier just to use HTML, well, be that as it may, I still think it would be cool to have a few of my cool controls on the web (TRichView and TVirtualTree, etc...) So my question is, to anyone who has tried this before, A.) What can we use for an IDE to code this web app (I just use emacs, but no one else in my company does)? B.) Is it a good idea to mix PHP and Processing.JS? It seems like I'm using a lot of AJAX to get anything to happen. 3 calls just for one dialog box to pop up, Loads the HTML for the dialog, Loads the XML to populate the database info on the form Loads the processing.js PJS file which draws the database info to the canvas. Is three a lot, do people usually combine all their gets into one?
