  I had to reinstall Windows XP on my Aspire 5720 and now I'm reinstalling the drivers. There are two touchpad drivers and I don't know how to find out which is the right one for my system. I've run the program Acer provides that looks at your hardware, but it doesn't tell me which touchpad I have. The two drivers are Alps and Synaptics -- is there any way I can determine which one I need? Thanks!

Lately I've been thinking in terms changing it to a dual monitor so that I can use one console for documentation/help/sample code/whatever, the other one to play with code. Assuming this board can handle a PCI GPU, can an AGP4x board coexist with a PCI GPU?

How can I modify pipelining so that I won't have to use 2 commands, but just a single one liner? Is there any other commandline tool that would do the same and can work directly on pdf files?

I know that the correct way to render an animation, is to first render it as images, but this is overkill when rendering short animations of a work in progress for the client to comment on. I have one client that views the vids on Windows and another that views them on iPad and iPhone. I'm hoping I could render just one video instead of rendering in two different formats.

  Hi I need to sum 9 cells of data, each one on a separate sheet, but always in the same location. I only want a figure returned when all the cells have data, even if it's a 0. But, if one of the cells is blank I want a blank return. I'm trying to get my head around, making it up actually, where the IFs and ISBLANK and SUMS would go.   I've always found that just developing in Windows, and using Safari for Windows has been sufficient. However, Safari 6 has now been released, and I've got at least one user who has contacted me, saying he's experienced problems with one of my sites on his new ipad. The trouble is that Safari for Windows only goes up to 5.1.7. Do I have to go out and buy a new mac/ipad/iphone in order to test my code, or is there another way?

  I'm running a Windows 7 on my reasonably modern laptop, when I open the context menu in Windows Explorer it really takes it time to show up (~10 seconds). There are some programs that have their commands added to it (an archive manipulation utility, an antivirus, a version control system and such). I think one of them freezes the operation. Is there a benchmark tool to measure it somehow or a tool to turn them off by one in Explorer without uninstalling them (which would be a penultimate measure, because use them)?

  Are there any tools that can be used to connect to windows 2008 servers, and get a comparison of the installed patches/updates on the servers, showing what is installed on one and not on the other? This is to help isolate an issue we are seeing on a specific windows server, in a load balanced setup.
