• Interpretation of empty User-agent

  How should I interpret a empty User-agent? I have some custom analytics code and that code has to analyze only human traffic. I have got a working list of User-agents denoting human traffic, and bot traffic, but the empty User-agent is proving to be problematic. And I am getting lots of traffic with empty user agent - 10%. Additionally - I have crafted the human traffic versus bot traffic user agent list by analyzing my current logs. As such I might be missing a lot of entries in there. Is there a well maintained list of user agents denoting bot traffic, OR the inverse a list of user agents denoting human traffic?

• Plymouth did not install properly

  I was installing the plymouth manager in hopes of making a custom loading screen. While the terminal was working, my computer unexpectedly powered off. I can open up the manager and it appears to do what it is supposed to (minus the fact that I can't make my own theme) and the screen only shows on powering down. Anyway, all of the advice I have seen so far have resulted in errors and nothing getting fixed. I do not have permissions to simply select the folder and delete it for some reason and I have not been able to find out how to grant myself those permissions. I guess my question then is how do I get rid of the plymouth manager so I can reinstall it properly? • Can't get past the Ubuntu loading screen when installing

  I'm trying to install Ubuntu 11.04 onto some custom made PC that my father in law tried building. It had Windows on it, but he wants Ubuntu so he asked me to do it. I've installed Ubuntu 11.04 on a few computers no issues, but on this computer I get to the all purple screen with the Ubuntu logo and the orange and white dots that light up. Like this: The fan is also super, super loud and sounds like the whole thing is going to explode and has been running like this for 15 mins ish. Then, after about 15 mins the dots stop animating from orange to white and usually just stick at all orange. Any ideas?

  i have seen through other questions on the topic but most are a bit old. I looking for a good editor for developing on PHP in Linux(ubuntu). Here is my requirements Basic editor features Free Light-Weight Syntax highlighting Code Folding (class,function,if/else/while/foreach block) Code completion Invalid Syntax/Error highlighting as you type Auto code intending Snippet support(pieces of custom or language specific codes that i can insert) Extendable support It would be great if it had the following Debugging support WYSIWYG Code formatting Framework support(cakephp/yii/zend/smarty) Testing support Todo Native look and feel(Gnome) Flex/ROR support is welcome but not a requirement Mysql support I have tried the following editors Netbeans - it bloated, resource hogging and doesnt not have a native look and feel. Eclipse is okay but i cant fold if/while blocks and slow. Gedit can be extended and i have tried it but still i could not fold code or show error. I currently use Geany but it doesn't inform me of syntax errors as i type. If you have ways to solve the problems with above editors they too are also welcome

• WPA2 authentication fails using USB network devices (Linksys and Rosewill)

  Decided to reduce the clutter in the house and replace a wired connection with a wireless one on my wife's system using USB network device Rosewill RNX-X1. I can see and connect to unprotected network, but WPA2 authentication repeatedly fails. Tried the same with a Linksys USB network adapter. Both failed to authenticate. Worth noting that I recently switched from Comcast to CenturyLink and so switched routers. The system connected successfully to previous router (Linksys EA4500) using WPA2. Would think it is the router (Actiontec C1000A) but all other devices (TV, iPad, Windows, Blackberry, and Squeezebox) connect ok. Would appreciate some diagnostic guidance and insight (phrased for a newbie!) As far as I can see and according to System - Administration - Hardware drivers the install was successful and the card + driver is up and running. Abstract follows: Beyond basic Oracle-to-Oracle ETL, data warehousing customers need to integrate data from multiple data sources spanning multiple database vendors, file formats(csv, xml, html) and unstructured data sources like pdf's and log files. This session describes experiences extending OWB 11gR2 to extract data from Postgres, SQL Server, MySQL and Sybase, PDF documents, and more for a major banking client's data warehousing project supporting IT operations. This included metadata extraction, custom knowledge module-based ETL and replacing ad-hoc perl and java extraction code with a manageable ETL solution built on OWB's extensible plaform.   I am making game and need to prepare view for level selection. Could you recommend me some opensource library which could I use? I need icons to vibrate after long pressing one of them, some callbacks after choosing them, possibility to prepare custom icon's view, page control and horizontal scrolling. I was trying to use OpenSpringBoard but weirdly couldn't see scrollview and pagecontrol working in this project - it seems that there's possibility to use only one page. On the other hand, myLauncher(https://github.com/dlinsin/myLauncher) isn't so easy to include in project, as I need a seperate view with some delegate methods. I need to be compatible with iOS 4.2

  We have a website which we want to show adverts in - However, these are custom adverts uploaded by the webmaster, not the Google adverts, or any adverts the network chooses. Ideally, there would be both options. We were considering developing our own advert-management system, but looking at the big picture, it might be better to consider other alternatives. Website is currently developed in C# / ASP.Net (Web Forms) Are there any recommendations to some open-source delivery networks and/or external hosted advert delivery networks? Personally I've used Google's DFP, however sometimes it is not so easy to get a Google AdSense account approved, especially while developing a new website and it not yet being launched. Not sure if this is the best place to ask this kind of question!

  I like the extnesibility point of MVC, allowing view models to implement IValidatableObject, and add custom validation. I try to keep my Controllers lean, having this code be the only validation logic: if (!ModelState.IsValid) return View(loginViewModel); For example a login view model implements IValidatableObject, gets ILoginValidator object via constructor injection: public interface ILoginValidator { bool UserExists(string email); bool IsLoginValid(string userName, string password); } It seems that Ninject, injecting instances in view models isn't really a common practice, may be even an anti-pattern? Is this a good approach? Is there a better one?

• How to block third party cookies in firefox?

  This seems to be discussed in many places. But I don't get it or it does not work for me. So let me explain. I use Firefox 24.0 on Lubuntu 12.04. In privacy settings, I have selected 1. Use custom settings for history 2. accept cookies from sites 3. never accept third party cookies. But then when I check (e.g. in show cookies in firefox preferences or in lightbeam), it still shows me many third party cookies (e.g. google.com, facebook, etc.). What additional steps I have to take to block them?

• Is there an RSS feed of Ubuntu Release torrent files

  A lot of torrent search engines have the ability to provide an RSS feed of matches, allowing you to set up torrent programs to download items which are published on the feed. This is useful for watching releases of things. The problem with doing this through a random search engine for Ubuntu is that you usually get too many torrents as it picks up different custom versions, and other software with the name in the title/description. See: http://www.mininova.org/rss/ubuntu So I was wondering if there was an RSS feed somewhere that only loads up the official torrent files for releases?
