On Saturday Tomas announced the feature complete MySQL 5.6 Release Candidate that is now available for Community adoption and testing. This announcement marks the sprint to GA that should be ready for release within the next 90 days. You can get a quick summary of the key 5.6 features here or better yet download the 5.6 RC (under “Development Releases”), review what's new and try it out for yourself! There were also product related announcements around MySQL Cluster 7.3 and MySQL Enterprise Edition . This latter announcement is of particular interest if you are faced with internal and regulatory compliance requirements as it addresses and solves a pain point that is shared by most developers and DBAs; new, out of the box compliance for MySQL applications via policy-based audit logging of user and query level activity. This is mainly due to how web-based applications have evolved from nice-to-have enablers to mission-critical revenue generation and the important role MySQL plays in the new dynamic. In today’s virtual marketplace, PCI compliance guidelines ensure credit card data is secure within e-commerce apps; from a corporate standpoint, Sarbanes-Oxely, HIPAA and other regulations guard the medical, financial, public sector and other personal data centric industries. For supporting applications audit policies and controls that monitor the eyes and hands that have viewed and acted upon the most sensitive of data is most commonly implemented on the back-end database. While the supporting docs are very complete and provide working code samples, writing an audit plugin requires time and low-level expertise to develop, test, implement and maintain. To help those who don't have the time and/or expertise to develop such a plugin, Oracle now ships MySQL 5.5.28 and higher with an easy to use, out-of-the-box auditing solution; MySQL Enterprise Audit. MySQL Enterprise Audit The premise behind MySQL Enterprise Audit is simple; we wanted to provide an easy to use, policy-based auditing solution that enables you to quickly and seamlessly add compliance to their MySQL applications. MySQL Enterprise Audit meets this requirement by enabling you to: 1. Easily install the needed components. Installation requires an upgrade to MySQL 5.5.28 (Enterprise edition), which can be downloaded from the My Oracle Support portal or the Oracle Software Delivery Cloud. After installation, you simply add the following to your my.cnf file to register and enable the audit plugin: [mysqld] plugin-load=audit_log.so (keep in mind the audit_log suffix is platform dependent, so .dll on Windows, etc.) or alternatively you can load the plugin at runtime: mysql> INSTALL PLUGIN audit_log SONAME 'audit_log.so'; 2. Dynamically enable and disable the audit stream for a specific MySQL server. A new global variable called audit_log_policy allows you to dynamically enable and disable audit stream logging for a specific MySQL server. The variable parameters are described below. 3. Define audit policy based on what needs to be logged (everything, logins, queries, or nothing), by server. The new audit_log_policy variable uses the following valid, descriptively named values to enable, disable audit stream logging and to filter the audit events that are logged to the audit stream: "ALL" - enable audit stream and log all events "LOGINS" - enable audit stream and log only login events "QUERIES" - enable audit stream and log only querie events "NONE" - disable audit stream 4. Manage audit log files using basic MySQL log rotation features. A new global variable, audit_log_rotate_on_size, allows you to automate the rotation and archival of audit stream log files based on size with archived log files renamed and appended with datetime stamp when a new file is opened for logging. 5. Integrate the MySQL audit stream with MySQL, Oracle tools and other third-party solutions. The MySQL audit stream is written as XML, using UFT-8 and can be easily formatted for viewing using a standard XML parser. This enables you to leverage tools from MySQL and others to view the contents. The audit stream was also developed to meet the Oracle database audit stream specification so combined Oracle/MySQL shops can import and manage MySQL audit images using the same Oracle tools they use for their Oracle databases. So assuming a successful MySQL 5.5.28 upgrade or installation, a common set up and use case scenario might look something like this: Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Table Normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-priority:99; mso-style-qformat:yes; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0in 5.4pt 0in 5.4pt; mso-para-margin-top:0in; mso-para-margin-right:0in; mso-para-margin-bottom:10.0pt; mso-para-margin-left:0in; line-height:115%; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:11.0pt; font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif"; mso-ascii-font-family:Calibri; mso-ascii-theme-font:minor-latin; mso-hansi-font-family:Calibri; mso-hansi-theme-font:minor-latin; mso-bidi-font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-bidi-theme-font:minor-bidi;} It should be noted that MySQL Enterprise Audit was designed to be transparent at the application layer by allowing you to control the mix of log output buffering and asynchronous or synchronous disk writes to minimize the associated overhead that comes when the audit stream is enabled. The net result is that, depending on the chosen audit stream log stream options, most application users will see little to no difference in response times when the audit stream is enabled. So what are your next steps? • ffmpeg: Could not find codec parameters for stream 0 (Video: h264) unspecified size

    - by dempap
I try to convert a video from .raw to .mp4. For this reason I did download, build and install both x264 and ffmpeg. However, command: ffmpeg -f h264 -i output.raw -vcodec copy output.mp4 fails with error (shown in picture below). Is there any way to fix this? Commands I also run: 1 root@beagleboard:/# v4l2-ctl --list-formats ioctl: VIDIOC_ENUM_FMT Index : 0 Type : Video Capture Pixel Format: 'YUYV' Name : YUV 4:2:2 (YUYV) Index : 1 Type : Video Capture Pixel Format: 'MJPG' (compressed) Name : MJPEG 2 root@beagleboard:/dev# v4l2-ctl --set-fmt-video=pixelformat=0

  • PHP suddenly failed after IIS update

    - by James Hay
All my application pools were stopped this morning after I got to work. I can restart them, but when I try to load the website the app pool crashes again. Update: I've looked in the GAC as the error below suggests and it seems that the file is not there. How do I get it back? Update 2: I found a further error in the event log saying The Module name FastCgiModule path C:\WINDOWS\System32\inetsrv\iisfcgi.dll returned an error from registration. The data is the error. So following the information from here http://forums.iis.net/t/1153937.aspx I removed CGI and my sites are working again. This has fixed the initial problem, but now I don't have FastCGI so I'm fairly sure that PHP will no longer be working (I don't have any PHP at the moment to test). Original Post I'm getting this error in the event viewer: IISMANAGER_ERROR_LOADING_PROVIDER_TYPE IIS Manager could not load type 'Web.Management.PHP.PHPProvider, Web.Management.PHP, Version=1.2.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=8175de49a9aec91d' for module provider 'PHP' that is declared in %windir%\system32\inetsrv\config\administration.config. • Code Contracts with Interfaces: "Method Invocation skipped. Compiler will generate method invocation

    - by Jörg Battermann
Good evening, I just started playing with Microsoft.Contracts (latest version) and plugging it on top of a sample interface and right now it looks like this: namespace iRMA2.Core.Interfaces { using System; using System.Collections.Generic; using System.ComponentModel.Composition; using System.Diagnostics.Contracts; /// <summary> /// Base Interface declarations for iRMA2 Extensions /// </summary> [InheritedExport] [ContractClass(typeof(IiRMA2ExtensionContract))] public interface IiRMA2Extension { /// <summary> /// Gets the name. /// </summary> /// <value>The name of the Extension.</value> string Name { get; } /// <summary> /// Gets the description. /// </summary> /// <value>The description.</value> string Description { get; } /// <summary> /// Gets the author of the extension. 'blured' out visually with the tooltip saying "Method Invocation skipped. Compiler will generate method invocation because the method is conditional or it is partial method without implementation" and in fact the CodeContracts output does not count/show them... What am I missing & doing wrong here? -J

  • asp.net mvc Ajax.BeginForm

    - by Bala R
Hello, I'm having some difficulties with Ajax.BeginForm I have something like this in a view <% using (Ajax.BeginForm("ActionName", null , null, new { id = "FormName" })) {%> <input type="hidden" value = '<%= Html.Encode( Model.id) %>' name="id"/> <textarea id="message" name=message rows="4" style="width: 90%"> </textarea> <% }%} And the action method is something like this [AcceptVerbs(HttpVerbs.Post)] [Authorize] public ActionResult ActionName(int id, string message) { .... } I'm trying to pass the 'id' and 'message' to the action method. I'm passing 'null' for routeValues but I dont know what to pass. Ideally I was trying to find an overload that did not require route values but took actionName and htmlattributes (for form name) but I could not find one.I don't want to add 'message' to the view-model and I do need the FormName in there for jquery operations. What is the best way to work around this problem ?

  • Issues with Android TabHost Example

I have been attempting to implement the 'advanced' tabwidget example from google. But, when it tries to call tabHost.addTab(spec); I get a stack trace from the debugger. Sorry, I don't have the stack trace here, but I'm wondering if others have had this same issue (as this code had a number of typo's and missing information that stopped me from even compiling. Can anyone point me to a corrected/running version of this code? The updated information needed are: <activity android:name=".ArtistsActivity"></activity> <activity android:name=".AlbumsActivity"></activity> <activity android:name=".SongsActivity"></activity>

  • ASP.NET MVC:Why does the CheckBoxFor render an additional input tag and how can I get the value usin

    - by Nikron
Hi, In my ASP.NET MVC app I am rendering out a checkbox using the following code: <%= Html.CheckBoxFor(i=>i.ReceiveRSVPNotifications) %> Now I see that this renders both the checkbox input tag and a hidden input tag. The problem that I am having is when I try retrieve the value from the checkbox using the FormCollection: FormValues["ReceiveRSVPNotifications"] I get the value "true, false". When looking at the rendered out HTML I can see the following: <input id="ReceiveRSVPNotifications" name="ReceiveRSVPNotifications" value="true" type="checkbox"> <input name="ReceiveRSVPNotifications" value="false" type="hidden"> So the FormValues collection seems to join these two values since they have the same name. Any Ideas?

  • Model binding nested collections in ASP.NET MVC

    - by MartinHN
    Hi I'm using Steve Sanderson's BeginCollectionItem helper with ASP.NET MVC 2 to model bind a collection if items. That works fine, as long as the Model of the collection items does not contain another collection. I have a model like this: -Product --Variants ---IncludedAttributes Whenever I render and model bind the Variants collection, it works jusst fine. But with the IncludedAttributes collection, I cannot use the BeginCollectionItem helper because the id and names value won't honor the id and names value that was produced for it's parent Variant: <div class="variant"> <input type="hidden" value="bbd4fdd4-fa22-49f9-8a5e-3ff7e2942126" autocomplete="off" name="Variants.index"> <input type="hidden" value="0" name="Variants[bbd4fdd4-fa22-49f9-8a5e-3ff7e2942126].SlotAmount" id="Variants_bbd4fdd4-fa22-49f9-8a5e-3ff7e2942126__SlotAmount"> <table class="included-attributes"> <input type="hidden" value="0" name="Variants.IncludedAttributes[c5989db5-b1e1-485b-b09d-a9e50dd1d2cb].Id" id="Variants_IncludedAttributes_c5989db5-b1e1-485b-b09d-a9e50dd1d2cb__Id" class="attribute-id"> <tr> <td> <input type="hidden" value="0" name="Variants.IncludedAttributes[c5989db5-b1e1-485b-b09d-a9e50dd1d2cb].Id" id="Variants_IncludedAttributes_c5989db5-b1e1-485b-b09d-a9e50dd1d2cb__Id" class="attribute-id"> </td> </tr> </table> </div> If you look at the name of the first hidden field inside the table, it is Variants.IncludedAttributes - where it should have been Variants[bbd4fdd4-fa22-49f9-8a5e-3ff7e2942126].IncludedAttributes[...]... That is because when I call BeginCollectionItem the second time (On the IncludedAttributes collection) there's given no information about the item index value of it's parent Variant. My code for rendering a Variant looks like this: <div class="product-variant round-content-box grid_6" data-id="<%: Model.AttributeType.Id %>"> <h2><%: Model.AttributeType.AttributeTypeName %></h2> <div class="box-content"> <% using (Html.BeginCollectionItem("Variants")) { %> <div class="slot-amount"> <label class="inline" for="slotAmountSelectList"><%: Text.amountOfThisVariant %>:</label> <select id="slotAmountSelectList"><option value="1">1</option><option value="2">2</option></select> </div> <div class="add-values"> <label class="inline" for="txtProductAttributeSearch"><%: Text.addVariantItems %>:</label> <input type="text" id="txtProductAttributeSearch" class="product-attribute-search" /><span><%: Text.or %> <a class="select-from-list-link" href="#select-from-list" data-id="<%: Model.AttributeType.Id %>"><%: Text.selectFromList.ToLowerInvariant() %></a></span> <div class="clear"></div> </div> <%: Html.HiddenFor(m=>m.SlotAmount) %> <div class="included-attributes"> <table> <thead> <tr> <th><%: Text.name %></th> <th style="width: 80px;"><%: Text.price %></th> <th><%: Text.shipping %></th> <th style="width: 90px;"><%: Text.image %></th> </tr> </thead> <tbody> <% for (int i = 0; i < Model.IncludedAttributes.Count; i++) { %> <tr><%: Html.EditorFor(m => m.IncludedAttributes[i]) %></tr> <% } %> </tbody> </table> </div> <% } %> </div> </div> And the code for rendering an IncludedAttribute: <% using (Html.BeginCollectionItem("Variants.IncludedAttributes")) { %> <td> <%: Model.AttributeName %> <%: Html.HiddenFor(m => m.Id, new { @class = "attribute-id" })%> <%: Html.HiddenFor(m => m.ProductAttributeTypeId) %> </td> <td><%: Model.Price.ToCurrencyString() %></td> <td><%: Html.DropDownListFor(m => m.RequiredShippingTypeId, AppData.GetShippingTypesSelectListItems(Model.RequiredShippingTypeId)) %></td> <td><%: Model.ImageId %></td> <% } %>

In my code I have to add a new element with attribute associated with the name the space and I am doing it like the following XElement customHeading = new XElement("Row", new XAttribute(_spreadSheetNameSapce + "AutoFitHeight", "0")); It creates the XElement properly but it does insert xmlns="" entry also in the same element. I do not want that element to be created. How can I create the Xelement without the empty name space or how can I remove the namespace after the element is created? Thanks a lot.

  • WebBrowser control HTMLDocument automate selecting option drop-down

Anybody recommend how to select a item from a drop-down, given this html example: <SELECT id="term_id" size="1" name="p_term_in"><option value="">Select Another Term<option value="201050">Summer 2010<option value="201010">Spring 2010<option value="200980">Fall 2009</SELECT> For others that can learn from entering values to textboxes and invoking click events here's how you do it: webBrowser1.Document.GetElementById("<HTML ELEMENT NAME>").SetAttribute("value", "THE NAME"); Invoke button or hyperlink click: webBrowser1.Document.GetElementById("<BUTTON>").InvokeMember("click"); So I've solved entering values and invoking click, but I have not solved selecting a drop-down value.

  • How to code Microsoft Excel "Shift Cells Up" feature in SQL

    - by user293249
Take a simple table like below: Column Headings: || Agent's Name || Time Logged In || Center || Row 1: Andrew || 12:30 PM || Home Base Row 2: Jeff || 7:00 AM || Virtual Base Row 3: Ryan || 6:30 PM || Test Base Now lets say that a single cell is deleted so the table now looks like this: Column Headings: || Agent's Name || Time Logged In || Center || Row 1: Andrew || 12:30 PM || Row 2: Jeff || 7:00 AM || Virtual Base Row 3: Ryan || 6:30 PM || Test Base Notice that "Home Base" is missing. Now in excel you can delete the cell and shift the rest so the finished product looks like below: Column Headings: || Agent's Name || Time Logged In || Center || Row 1: Andrew || 12:30 PM || Virtual Base Row 2: Jeff || 7:00 AM || Test Base Row 3: Ryan || 6:30 PM || And you can see we are left with a blank cell last row. How do I code this procedure of shifting the cells up in SQL? I've been struggling on this problem for weeks! Thank you!

  • ASP.Net error: “The type ‘foo’ exists in both ”temp1.dll“ and ”temp2.dll" (pt 2)

    - by Greg
I'm experiencing the same problem as in this question, but none of the answers fixed my problem. (edit: Setting the web.config batch attribute works, but that's a coverup, not a solution) The problem I'm having is with a User Control that I moved from the root directory to a subdirectory within the same Web Application project. It used to work fine before I moved it. When I moved it it started giving me the error message. It's saying that the class name exists in two dll files in Temporary ASP.NET Files. Sure enough, when I open Reflector, it's in two dlls. If I rename the class and ascx file, everything works fine. No usages of the original name exist within any of the files in my entire application. When I rename the file, I opened all of the dll files in Temporary ASP.NET Files with Reflector, and no references to the original class name exists. So where's this phantom reference coming from how can I fix this?
