• Actionscript problems with social share encoding

  Hi, I'm trying to make some "social share" buttons at my site, but the urls I generate just don't get decoded by this services. One example, for twitter: private function twitter(e:Event):void { var message:String = "Message with special chars âõáà"; var url:String = "http://www.twitter.com/home?status="; var link:URLRequest = new URLRequest( url + escape(message) ); } But when twitter opens up, the message is: Message with special chars %E2%F5%E1%E0 Something similar is happening with Facebook and Orkut (but these two hide the special chars). Someone know why is this happening?

• Converting kernel image from ELF to PE

  I am using Msys to build a home brew kernel that I wrote under Linux. Linux used ELF for its binary format and Msys uses PE. I have the source setup to allow it to be booted by Grub using the Multiboot spec. At the end of the build, I get some undefined symbols: init.o:init.S:(.text+0x14): undefined reference to `edata' main.o:main.c:(.text+0x121): undefined reference to `_alloca' main.o:main.c:(.text+0x126): undefined reference to `__main' ../../lib\libkern.a(mem.o):mem.c:(.text+0x242): undefined reference to `_end' ../../lib\libkern.a(mem.o):mem.c:(.text+0x323): undefined reference to `_end' These appear to be ELF oriented symbols. If anyone can advise me on how these should be dealt with in the PE world, e.g. if there are equivalents, it would help me out a lot!

I only want to show the very top level, so for example if I have the following forums: Main - Sub Forum 1 - Sub Forum 2 --- Sub Forum 2.1 --- Sub Forum 2.1 - Sub Forum 3 Community - Sub Forum 1 - Sub Forum 2 --- Sub Forum 2.1 --- Sub Forum 2.1 - Sub Forum 3 Only Main and Community would appear on the home page. • VSS: How do I recover from "File <foo> has been destroyed, and cannot be rebuilt."?

  We're running Visual SourceSafe 6.0 (build 8163). In one project, there's an old label I want to do a Get on, but a few files have been added and destroyed since that label was created. Now everytime I try to do a Get on the label - for each destroyed file - I get the warning "File has been destroyed and cannot be rebuilt, do you want to continue?", (which seems completely stupid, since the destroyed files never existed before the label was set). I've tried adding files with the same name, but that didn't help. I also tried deleting (not destroying) those added files, but that didn't help either. I really want to be rid of the warning, since the home-cooked building app we use to build all the projects doesn't handle this error/warning, and hence can't Get the label requested and build that project. Help! (and no, running VSS is not by choice, trust me, I was hoping never to see it again after the first time I was forced to use it, which was ten years ago)

  I am running a JSP/Servlet Web application and out of nowhere we experienced some random problems that don't make any sense. • 'client_errors' warning in output from cron job that runs PHP on GoDaddy

  Hi. I have several cron jobs that I've set up on my GoDaddy hosting account through their control panel. The commands look like this: /web/cgi-bin/php5 "$HOME/html/myfolder/cron_do_stuff.php" The jobs runs as scheduled, and the scripts work perfectly, and the output from the scripts always gets sent to my email address. I would love a way to disable this (since the PHP script can send it's own emails if it's necessary). But my real question is about the output, which always contains this on the first line: /web/cgi-bin/php5: Symbol `client_errors' has different size in shared object, consider re-linking Looks like a server configuration error to me, and after talking with GoDaddy they said it's a benign warning and not to worry about it. I was just curious if anyone had ideas for fixing it.

• wordpress user uploads, any solution?

  I need to build a solution which will allow registered users of a Wordpress site upload videos to the server and have them moderated before being published on the site. Failing that, I would like to let users upload their file, then the Admins would check the video is appropriate, upload it to youtube, and manually embed it into a post. This has to look transparent - so I don't want to make the users into contributers. Does anyone know of any plugins or home-made solutions that are available for this? edit: the closest I have found is this http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/all-in-one-video-pack/ but the unknown 3rd party hosting is a deal breaker.

• Letting a new PHP page know a new POST value is an Array?

  I have a page that creates an associative array, then passes it as a hidden value to a new PHP page. I have a foreach loop waiting to iterate through it but it coughs up an "invalid argument" error, as if the page doesn't know the value it's working with is an array (Despite "print" showing simply "Array"). This is essentially what I have: //Hidden input to be passed to the next page print "<input type=\"hidden\" name=\"price_list\" value=\"$item_list\"> //Code on the second page for the foreach loop extract($_POST); foreach($price_list as $name=>$price) { ... } But I am simply given "Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/cut/mg299/public_html/PHP/invoice.php on line 17". The array works fine, as I can iterate on the previous page, and other values are parsed fine to this second page. Do I need to 'reinitialise' this array value?

• In Oracle 10g, how do I see tables in schemes other than system

  In the hr schema there's a table emloyees, I can query data from it specifying it implicitly SELECT count(*) FROM hr.employees while logged in as system, but when I navigate to Home-Object Browser in the browser I can't see the table employees and other tables in other schemas. Can I manage tables in schemas other than system while logged in as system? Maybe there's some setting which enables me to group tables by schema. My Oracle Database version is 10.2.0.1 Express Edition. IIRC I could see all tables in Oracle Database 10.1.x.y. Thanks.

  I'm looking for something that applies the collaboration focus (one location/URL, always up-to-date, multi-person online read/write access anywhere) of google docs / google spreadsheets to wireframing. Bonus points if, like Google Docs, it needs only a browser yet also works offline. More bonus points if it supports automatic revisions. Even more bonus points if you can hand out login-less 'invitation' URLs like Flickr does, instead of forcing people into signing up for accounts or using their home accounts. To start off, there's one called iPlotz, but it didn't enchant me -- ironically, mostly because of its akward UI, which can't hold a candle to omnigraffle (don't let that prevent you from giving it a try though). And no, paper prototyping, wonderful as it is, does not qualify: it does not combine being instantly globally shareable & editable very well :-)

• What's the diffrence btw System property and system environment variable

  Hi all I am not clear about this. When I run a java App or run an Applet in applet viewer,( in the IDE environment), System.getProperty("java.class.path") give me the same as System.getenv("CLASSPATH"), which is the CLASSPATH env variable defined. But when I deploy my applet to webserver and access it from the same computer as a client, I get different result for the two (System.getProperty("java.class.path") only point to jre home and System.getenv("CLASSPATH") return null). And here is some other things that make me wonder: For the applet part, the env var JAVA_HOME, i get the same result when deploying the applet in a browser as well as Applet Viewer. And if I define myself a env variable at system level, and use getenv("envName") the result is null. Is there anyway I can define one and get it in my java program? Thanks a lot Regards K.

  hey, i saw this on a site a couple of days ago and i cant seem to find it again. in any case, this is what was on the site: the page opened regularly when you entered the url. upon clicking one of the links on the page, it "transitioned" to the next page (there was a color change). and the url in the address bar was changed to reflect that. eg: if the background was blue on site.com, when clicking on the about link, the background would change to green and the browser would show site.com/about. and so on. also, if the url entered was site.com/about, the bg would be green and on cliking the home page, the site would transition from green to blue and browser would show site.com im interested in finding out how this was done. searching on google got me the meta-refresh tag, but the ffect was much more complex and worked on all browsers. is there any other method out there?

I've found instructions for install an run Cassandra in Windows, and it's already up and running; I've also found the thrift executable for Windows and generate the C# interfaces, but... when I try to compile that generated code in Visual Studio I got : "The type or namespace name 'Thrift' could not be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?)", so I'm missing something else, but I cannot find what...   I am using Asp.Net MVC 2 - RC w/ Areas. I am receiving an ambigious controller name exception due to having same controller name in two different areas. I've read Phil Haack's post I can't figure out the syntax when trying to use UrlHelper (I have an extensions class). e.g. public static string MyAreaHome(this UrlHelper helper) { return helper.RouteUrl("ARoute", new { controller = "Home", action = "Index" }); } I've tried the obvious of adding namespace="mynamespace" but that didn't work, it just added the namespace to the url. Thanks for any help.

  Getting started with Nexus S NFC/RFID. Can anyone provide any guidance? I'm interested in creating some home brew demos using the nexus s NFC/RFID hardware. I think I need to find the appropriate tags and how to encode urls into tags that the nexus s can read by it's tags app. Not sure about iso 14443 tags or mifare etc Does nexus s support all of libnfc? If I root the device can I get access to write functionality? Thanks

  Hi All, i've configured FBConnect and it uploads to the wall, but what i want to do is take a screenshot and then upload the screenshot to FB. In the below code there is an image but as a url. Can i intersect this and put in my screenshot image?   We use a home-grown Registration System for our software but I'd like to update it fixing a number of things including adding the ability to remotely activate/deactivate it (to facilitate Saas). Feel free to suggest any good (in your opinion) VB6- compatible option. I can check out whether it meets our other criteria below. Required Features: Activate multiple programs (Ok if it generates a separate code for each one) Works with VB6 and VB.net. A VB6-compatible DLL should be fine. Still supported (nice to have but not absolutely required Compatible with Windows 2000 through 7. Nice-to-have features (but not required) * Work without internet access * Works through a firewall (this may be a tough one) Any suggestions?
