    I have a set of websites that basically do the exact same thing in terms of functionality, the only thing that varies is the css and how the html is laid out. Is there a way to generate the html from a database (ie retreiving the html from a table) and then catching the controls (like buttons, textboxes etc) from the code behind?     Is there a framework or code already available that will give me more control over the code that gets generated based off my web references? I'm working at a new company. And the Web Services Proxies are all self contained in their own assembly. I would really rather generate this whole project. Every time they change something on the Services-side (Java) the WSDL references have to be dropped and re-added. (I can't figure out what those guys are doing on their end that messes with the WSDL bad enough that this needs to be done so much) Their are 10 of these references. I'd rather codegen the whole thing at compile time. Every time. What are my options?

  • ASP.NET MVC2 and Browser Caching

    Hi I have a web application that fetches a lot of content via ajax. For example when a user edits some data, the browser will send the changes using an ajax post and then do an ajax get to get fresh content and replace an existing div on the page with that content. This was working just find with MVC1, but in MVC2 I would get inconsistent results. I've found that MVC1 by default included an Expires item in the response headers set to the current time, but in MVC2 the Expires header is missing. This is a problem with some browsers (IE8) actually using the cached version of the ajax get instead of the fresh version. To deal with the problem I created a simple ActionFilterAttribute that sets the reponse cache to NoCache (see below), which works, but it seems kind of sillly to decorate every controller with this attribute. Is there a global way to set this for every controller? Is this a bug in MVC2 and it really should be setting the expires on every ActionResult/view/page? Don't most MVC programs deal with data entry where stale data is a very bad thing?   • VB.NET: Scrollbar "button"?

    I plan on using a scrollbar for, well, scrolling an image. The image is 200x500, however, the only visible area is 200x250. So I set the max value to 250, and the min value to 0. The idea is that if I drag the scrollbar's button to the bottom, 250 pixels will have moved for the image, right? But wait, the scrollbar's button is.... very small. And the scrollbar is actually pretty long. Is there a way to make the scrollbar's button longer?

  • Login time out when calling opening a new window from modal popup (ASP.NET)

    I have a weird problem. I have a window, on a button click I open a modal popup (using ModelPopupExtender), that let's you select a few criteria and then click a submit button. On click of submit button, I open a new window (using window.open()) that shows the status of what happened to your submitted request. However, every time this status window is opened, it goes to the login page. I am thinking the modal popup can't pass the authentication cookie to the newly opened window, but I'm not sure.
