I have seen this type of effect on a visual thesaurus. Is there any open source code for this.
I don't care about the algorithm to match similar objects. I only am wondering about the effects.
I'd like to add one additional method for each service operation in my WCF client proxy code (i.e. the generated class that derives from ClientBase). I have written a VisualStudio extension that has an IOperationContractGenerationExtension implementation, but this interface only seems to expose the ability to modify the service interface, not the ClientBase-derived class.
Is there any way to generate new methods in the proxy client class?
I've got a cocoa application that reads in a text file. I'd like to display that text in a multi-line label, but I for the life of me can't figure it out. I opened up my .nib file and poped a multi-line label down but after that I'm stuck.
I don't have any experience working with XCode or Cocoa, mostly Eclipse, VisualStudio, and pretty much every other IDE except XCode which seems very foreign.
I'm trying to write a SAMPLER program, where each key has a different sound (a WAV file).
Can someone explain to me or give me a link to an explanation where i can learn how to play the WAV files?
If it matters, I'm working with Microsoft Visual C# and using WinForms.
I have an application which depends on the Team Foundation Server "Object Model", and looks for such binaries in the GAC. This means that clients of the app need to install VisualStudio, or the standalone TFS object model in order to use the application.
I would like the installer to detect that the TFS bits aren't installed, and fail to install appropriately if they are not.
Is such a thing possible?
i am writing a visual basic ide , and i need to add lines numbers to QTextEdit and highlight current line . i have found this tutorial but it is written in java and i write my project in c++

Surround.vim is a nifty vim extension that allows you to surround blocks of text with , brackets, braces, and pretty much any arbitrary "surround" character. It supports paragraph and word surround, but I frequently use it in visual mode.
I'm playing around with Emacs and wondering if there's something similar; something that will let me highlight a region and then have the marked region (or rectangle) enclosed with braces, brackets or tags.
When I rename a table column in Designer mode in SQL Server Management Studio 2008 (both R2 and non-R2) and generate a change script it looks like this:
EXECUTE sp_rename N'table.column', N'Tmp_columnNew', 'COLUMN'
GO
EXECUTE sp_rename N'table.Tmp_columnNew', N'columnNew', 'COLUMN'
GO
What for temporary column name is used? Why don't rename at once?
In vim, you can create a fold with zf, so if is %, you can neatly fold a delimited block.
is there a way to select some text in visual mode and automatically fold that?
I've noticed that if I select a closed fold and use dd to delete it, then go somewhere else and use P to paste it, the fold will disappear and the fold will be expanded. I want to cut the folded stuff and paste it and have it paste with the folds still intact and closed.
Hi,
I've got a WCF service that I'm hosting in IIS 7, which I connect to from a .NET page. The service and page work fine when I test it locally from VisualStudio, but when I put it on my staging server I get a TimeoutException.
Any suggestions on how I can debug this to work out what's going wrong?
I'm using the WCF Rest service application project template in visualstudio. I'm just learning about REST, and I was wondering how I would post a SampleItem object to the following method:
[WebInvoke(UriTemplate = "", Method = "POST")]
public SampleItem Create(SampleItem instance)
{
// TODO: Add the new instance of SampleItem to the collection
throw new NotImplementedException();
}
I get the general concepts of gets for the purposes of grabbing data, but I'm not sure how I would post the object in code (or just through a browser for testing) to the service.
Hi All
I have created a user control, and now I want to add custom properties to it so they will appear in the Properties toolbar in Vis. Studio. How can this be done?
My custom property will be: "Animation Type" with options "Fade | Blink | Scroll | Blend"
thank you
Which is a better choice on a development box if you primarily develop Asp.Net applications and SSRS reports. I have never had to use the Express editions, so I don't really know the pros or cons.
The cons I have listed for Standard+ editions are:
toll it takes on system resources
pain to attach database for projects
pain to detach unused databases
$$$
Pros:
You have everything you need
Management Studio features
Easy move to production
Hi,
I'm create program and save with Visual studio: test.exe
Then create created program: run.exe, with code:
using System.Diagnostics;
Process run = new Process();
run.StartInfo.FileName = "test.exe";
run.Start();
Why this progran don't start first program(test.exe)?
I have a Qt exe built from visualstudio 2005(after taking the .cpp, .h, .moc, ui_ files)
I have done some simple QSqlite queries. It works fine in my development pc. But in another pc it crashes for the line below:
QSqlDatabase mSqlDb
How to run the exe so that it can interact with sqlite from another pc. [Any other gui application runs just fine.]
So which things are necessary to deploy a sqlite-qt application ?
Hello,
I've installed:
Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86)
and got the following folders:
x86_microsoft.vc90.crt_1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b_9.0.21022.8_none_bcb86ed6ac711f91
x86_microsoft.vc90.crt_1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b_9.0.30729.4926_none_508ed732bcbc0e5a
I allready uninstalled the redistribute package but they continue overthere.
I want to remove them because I want to test my program without installing nothing (I've included those dll's when building it in another computer).
So, how can I remove those folders from C:\Windows\winsxs?
Thanks in advance :D
I need to build SSIS packages on a build machine, and do not want the overhead of installing SQL Server Management Studio on this machine. A SQL Server 2008 SDK would be ideal, but I could not find where to download it.
The dlls I require are (for example):
Microsoft.SQLServer.ManagedDTS
Microsoft.SqlServer.PipelineHost
Microsoft.SqlServer.DTSPipelineWrap
Microsoft.SQLServer.DTSRuntimeWrap
I could attempt to copy them to the build machine individually, but I would rather just use an SDK if possible.
Where can I get the SDK, or alternatively, what suggestions are there?
Is it possible to develop a Windows driver (specifically a PDF-like printer driver that displays the data on-screen instead of actually printing) without using Visual Studio? I'm thinking of using free C++ tools such as MinGW/gcc.
Hi all
I made a custom sharepoint workflow with Visualstudio, the workflow starts when a new item is inserted in a list
I assigned the title of the task to reference a field in the new item
TaskProps.Title = "Please prepare Hardware for project " + workflowProperties.Item["Contract"].ToString().Split('#')[1];
the task title is correct but i find the string (exteranl participant) concatenated the title of the task
what can be the reason for this ?
thanks
Hello,
I have a local sql express server with DB A and remote server uXXX.mssql.domainname.com with DB B.
using sql mangament studio 2008, I want to move copy DB A to DB B with all tables, data, dependencies and stored procedures.
how to figure out this problem? I only had understood table and table data copying(using Tasks-Import Data).
I'm looking for a PHP profiler that works with Zend Server (CE). From what I can tell, XDebug is a pain to setup with Zend Server. While Zend Debugger is free (as I understand it), the Profiler is only on Zend Studio.
Any other options?
I have some experience with Eclipse and Qt creator and am somewhat disappointed in their debuggers, less so in their editors. On Windows, I like VisualStudio for debugging and SlickEdit for editing (SE is also available on Linux). Is there an IDE that is somehow better than the two mentioned?
I have a Dell Studio 540, 64 bit OS Windows Home Premium. My CPU is supports Intel's virtualization technology, but I don't know how to enabled it on my machine. I saw that you can do it via the bios, but I didn't see this option when going through my BIOS. Is there another way to enabled this feature? Please let me know. I'm trying to installed Windows Server 2008 via Vircutal PC 2007.
Thank You,
I was recently wanting to do some profiling on an ASP.Net project and was surprised to see that VisualStudio (at least seems to be) lacking a profiler.
So my question is what profiler do you use for ASP.Net? Are there any decent ones out there that are free?
I've seen a few general .Net profilers but have yet to see one that can be used with ASP.Net..
