  • IBM Worklight v6.1.0.1 : Error when using Ionic Framework with Worklight and run on IOS environment

    I have created demo app using Ionic with Worklight and it worked on Android but got error on IOS, when i used mobile browser simulator and debugged on IOS environment, i got the folowing error message: Uncaught InvalidCharacterError: Failed to execute 'add' on 'DOMTokenList': The token provided ('platform-ios - iphone') contains HTML space characters, which are not valid in tokens.   • Center aligned form with equal width labels

    I have a very simple web form which consists of labels and input fields, however I can not seem to find a way of aligning the form in the center of the page and for the labels to have an equal width so that they appear neatly next to each other, one under the other. The structure of my page is basically: <body> <div class="form"> <form method="post"> <fieldset> <label>Mobile:</label><input type="text" name="msisdn"><br/> <label>Code:</label><input type="text" name="code"><br/> <br/> <input type="image" src="submit-button.gif" alt="Submit"> <br/> <input type="checkbox" name="ts_and_cs"><label> Accept Terms and Conditions</label> <br/><br/> </fieldset> </form> </div> </body> Usually I would fix this by doing float:left on the label fields and setting a width on the labels, however for this I need the labels and input fields to be centered on the page. Also I am not able to set the width of the page (or any containing divs) as the page will be displayed on mobile devices with different screen sizes. Any suggestions as to how best style the form?   • Anchor tags are blank

    I'm having a problem where the my anchor tags sometimes aren't displaying their links. This is happening on Mobile Safari on multiple iPhones, and in the iPhone simulator. I'm using jQtouch r147, PhoneGap, and jQuery 1.4.2. When the list is blank, I see the debug.log() line show me 'html is blank', and I also see the log line show me that the variable 'name' does, in fact, contain a valid name. When I check for anchor.html() == null, I've also tried to .remove() the anchor tag, and re-create it. But it always comes back without the name displayed. This happens on the mobile device and in the simulator, but I've never seen it happen in Safari or in Chrome. Has anyone seen something like this? I can't find the cause, and I can't get it to stop.   • GSM Cell Towers Location & Triangulation Algorithm (Similar to OpenCellID / Skyhook / Google's MyLocation)

    Hi all, assuming I have a Fingerprint DB of Cell towers. The data (including Long. & Lat. CellID, signal strength, etc) is achieved by 'wardriving', similar to OpenCellID.org. I would like to be able to get the location of the client mobile phone without GPS (similar to OpenCellID / Skyhook Wireless/ Google's 'MyLocation'), which sends me info on the Cell towers it "sees" at the moment: the Cell tower connected to, and another 6 neighboring cell towers (assuming GSM). I have read and Googled it for a long time and came across several effective theories, such as using SQL 2008 Spatial capabilities, or using an euclidean algorithm, or Markov Model. However, I am lacking a practical solution, preferably in C# or using SQL 2008 :) The location calculation will be done on the server and not on the client mobile phone. the phone's single job is to send via HTTP/GPRS, the tower it's connected to and other neighboring cell towers. Any input is appreciated, I have read so much and so far haven't really advanced much. Thanx

  • jQuery ajax post of jpg image to .net webservice. Image results corrupted

    I have a phonegap jquery app that opens the camera and take a picture. I then POST this picture to a .net webservice, wich I've coded. I can't use phonegap FileTransfer because such isn't supported by Bada os, wich is a requirement. I believe I've successfully loaded the image from phonegap FileSystem API, I've attached it into an .ajax type:post, I've even received it from .net side, but when .net save the image into the server, the image results corrupted. It seems to me that two sides of the communication have different data type. Has anyone experience in this? Any help will be appreciated.   • Managing shared product backlog items across multiple platforms

    I am using TFS 2012 to develop a application that will be available as a website and a mobile application, i.e. Windows Phone, Android, etc. While I've been building up a list of features for this application I've noticed that a lot of them will be available across all platforms and I'm not to sure how to manage them within a product backlog. For example, there will be an option to sign in with a Facebook account and user will be able to do this on website and mobile applications. So my though was I would create a product backlog item "Sign in with Facebook account" and assign it to an area called "Website". I would then create another backlog item, with the same title, but this time assign it to an area called "Windows Phone". Therefore my backlog would have two items, both with the same title, but different areas. The idea is I could assign the "Sign in..." backlog item for the website to one sprint and then assign the "Sign in..." backlog item for Windows Phone to another sprint. Seeing as I'm new using Agile/Scrum would this be considered a viable way of managing a product backlog?

    EDIT: This question was initially too general, I think. So What I really need is a very good tutorial on how to implement the Load More function on Safari for iPhone just like the Twitter website(mobile.twitter.com) does. Just a wordpress plugin won't really help. But if the plugin is well explained, like if it is wptouch, home(that also has this function) that can also do. I know that it doesn't really matter that it is being displayed on a mobile device, but the point I am stressing is that if such a function is well explained, then it will be up to me to know how to customize it to suit me. I am using a javascript function to load entries that come from the database dynamically, so that content opens in the same page (like with twitter(tweets feed) and facebook(news feed)).     I'm getting the following error after a crash in an iPad app that uses CoreMIDI (The * are to blank out the app name): Dyld Error Message: Symbol not found: _MIDINetworkNotificationContactsDidChange Referenced from: /var/mobile/Applications/8F08B78E-929D-4C5A-9F02-08FD5743C17F/***.app/*** Expected in: /System/Library/Frameworks/CoreMIDI.framework/CoreMIDI in /var/mobile/Applications/8F08B78E-929D-4C5A-9F02-08FD5743C17F/***.app/*** Dyld Version: 179.4 When the app launches, I listen for MIDI Network Sessions using [[NSNotificationCenter defaultCenter] addObserver:self selector:@selector(sessionDidChange:) name:MIDINetworkNotificationSessionDidChange object:nil]; [[NSNotificationCenter defaultCenter] addObserver:self selector:@selector(sessionDidChange:) name:MIDINetworkNotificationContactsDidChange object:nil]; Which seems to be what is causing the crash. This is after I call session = [MIDINetworkSession defaultSession]; session.enabled = YES; session.connectionPolicy = MIDINetworkConnectionPolicy_Anyone; MIDIClientCreate(CFSTR("MidiManager"), midiNotifyProc, (void*)self, &midiClientRef); This kind of looks like CoreMIDI library has not been included in the build. Problem is, it IS included in the build as a required framework. (And the deployment target is set to 4.2). I can run the build fine on my iPad and have been testing extensively with other users' iPads also with no problems whatsoever. Also, this is an update to an existing app that has had several updates already with no problems. I just double checked my deployment build and the framework is definitely included, and I just installed that build onto my iPad (with a different provisioning profile from the store) and it works fine also. What could be happening? Could it be that Xcode just did a bad build for the one I sent to Apple, or am I missing something obvious? Could I change the MIDINetworkNotificationSessionDidChange notification symbol to a literal string (@"MIDINetworkNotificationSessionDidChange") to fix things for the mean time? Thanks for any help!

  • jQuery.data() works in Mac OS WebKit, but not on iPhone OS?

    I'm playing around with jQTouch for an iPhone OS app that I've been toying with off and on for a while. I wanted to try my hand building it as a web app so I started playing with jQTouch. For reference, here is the page+source (all my code is currently in index.html so you can just "View Source" to see it all): http://rpj.me/doughapp.com/wd/ Essentially, I'm trying to save pertinent JSON objects retrieved from Google Local into DOM objects using the data() method (in this example, obj is the Google Local object): $('#locPane').data('selected', obj); then later (in a different "pane"), retrieving that object to be used: $('#locPane').bind('pageAnimationEnd', function(e, inf) { var selobj = $(this).data('selected'); // use 'selobj' here ... } In Chromium and Safari on the desktop OS (Snow Leopard in my case), this works perfectly (try it out). However, the same code returns undefined for the call to $(this).data('selected') in the second snippet above. I've also tried $('#' + e.target.id).data('selected') and even the naive $('#locPane').data('selected'). All variants return undefined in the iPhone OS version of WebKit, but not on the desktop. Interestingly, the running this on Mobile Safari in the iPhone Simulator fails as well. If you look at the full source, you'll see that I even try to save this object into my global jQTouch object (named jqt in my code). This, too, fails on the mobile platform. Has anyone else ever ran into this? I'll admit to not being a web/javascript programmer by trade, so if I'm making an idiot's error please call me out on it.   • How best to implement support for multiple devices in a web application.

    Hello. My client would like a business application to support 'every possible device'. The application in question is essentially a web application and 'every possible device', I believe encompasses mobile phones, netbooks, ipad, other browser supporting devices, etc. The application is somewhat complex w.r.t. the data it captures and other functions it performs (reporting). If I continue to honor increasing complexity in the application, I guess there are more chances of it not working on other devices. I'd like to know how web applications support multiple devices conventionally? Are there multiple versions of presentation layer (like many times I find m.website.com dedicated for mobile devices)? Further, if my application is to take advantage of Java Script, RIA (Flash, SilverLight) then what are the consequences and workarounds? Mine is a .Net based application and the stack also contains Ext JS Java Script library. While I would like to use it for sure, considering that I would be doing a lot of work in Java Script rather than HTML, this could be a problem. The answer to the above could be descriptive. If there is something already prescribed out there, please share the link(s). Thanks.

  • Android: New app not showing on a sprint phone...

    I uploaded my app to the Android Market last week and people have been purchasing it with no problems. My carrier is T-Mobile. As soon as I uploaded my app to the Market I got on my phone (Nexus One), searched for it, and there it was - instantly! (Is that because I have a google phone?) My friends G1 found it instantly also. BUT, another friend has a Sprint Moment phone and when he tried to search for it - it just wasn't there - like it didn't exist. I then called T-Mobile and Sprint representatives and found some information that I didn't know. The Sprint dude said that Sprint goes to some sort of massive Android Market Database and that's how Sprint knows about new apps and is then able to list them. New apps are not instantly shown on Sprint phones, you have to wait till their database updates to Android's database. At least that is what I thought they were trying to say to me. Has anyone else come across this issue and/or does anyone know how long Sprint takes to update their database for new Android apps? Do other carriers follow these methods?

  • Should we EVER use dp values for width/height?

    I've come across a project done by some other team which I have to fix. They used dp values for images' width/height. When I tried to adopt the layout for some tablets and/or mobiles, I've faced a lot of troubles. For example, the image of 40x40 dp has top padding of 15dp. When such image is loaded by some new mobile screen, the image is not where is was supposed to be - it's either shifted or distorted or of the wrong size. Now I need to propose a redesign of the whole app and I need some advise from the more experienced community. Should I abandon such layout policy (described abobe) and do like this: make the image with the size of 40x40 px position the image for the mdpi screen set its height/width to wrap_content do like this for other images after I finish layout for mdpi, resize each image for ldpi, hdpi and xhdpi screens in case of a special mobile/tablet, make a special set of images + xml files Is there a way when you would advise to use the explicit size of some images? Do you advise setting the size of images in xml layout or setting size via photoshop or similar graphics tools and then resize images for other screen sizes or screen densities?

It gets stuck after I click the run button. This also happens when I run my handphone for debugging the program. Other programs are all working fine, only one is stuck. When I try to remove and import it again seem there is a classes.dex file which I cannot delete, I have to restart my computer for it to allow to delete and I have to force the program to close.     My site is: http://library.skybundle.com I feel like I almost have a responsive site. I did all the CSS styling myself. It is a Wordpress site but I completely edited the CSS of the original theme, so it is night-and-day different than it used to be. The original theme was mostly just for a canvas for me to work with, since I am not an expert in PHP and we wanted a Wordpress site for easy editing later on. Thanks to stackoverflow, I now have a footer that sticks to the bottom of every page and everything mostly looks good -- the way we want it anyway. The only thing missing now is the we want browser windows on MOBILE devices, such as on an iPhone, to automatically adjust the layout of the content in the body (wrapper). For example, on the main page (library.skybundle.com), I would like those two big icons two become vertically aligned as soon as the browser window sizes to a small, mostly vertical size, like that of a mobile phone. Take this site, for example: http://freedomsoundproductions.securesb.net/ This is what we would like it to do. So one a page with a sidebar, the content to the right of the sidebar should basically jump into the same "column" as the left sidebar and form one single long column. Just like in the example site above. This should all be possible via CSS. People in other forums seem to want me to use jQuery and stuff, but I can only use CSS, and I know that this must be possible without having to resort to jQuery, HTML, or other code.

    I found something contradictory in Oracle VM. Clustered server pool creation in Oracle VM would format my FC LUN as ocfs2 , and start o2cb & ocfs2 services to build cluster environment. After that, when I wanted to create repository on the serverpool, unexpectedly, it told me that the physical disk I chose which is also my FC LUN, already contains a file system. What a contradictory! So what, delete the file system in serverpool? If so, why created it before?!     I have an unusual problem with a Windows Server 2003 (Standard x86) box. It appears the machine will not accept connections to its shares (locally and from other domain member servers) by using its ip address in a UNC path. The error returned is: "no network provider accepted the given network path" This is the case with the machine's ip address: \\10.0.8.x and even the loopback address: \\127.0.0.1 \\localhost does not work... but using the hostname (fqdn or not) works: \\server & \\server.domain.local The local windows firewall for this server is off, ping/rdp/other services respond fine using the IP address. The following services are running and have been restarted: Computer Browser Workstation Server The server itself has been rebooted too. Event 8032 in the system log indicates that: The browser service has failed to retrieve the backup list too many times on transport \Device\NetBT_Tcpip_{29A6A925-AFB3-47E2-BA59-DDA086DEAE7A}. The backup browser is stopping. The domain controller has not been restarted, no other servers have experienced this problem, yet there are a number of browser (8021) related errors in the logs on this server. Does anyone have any suggestions? I would like to avoid rejoining this server to the domain if possible.

When I reboot my Windows 7 Ultimate (64-bit) macbook pro, the service never restarts automatically, even though that is how they are set: The only relevant events I can see are in the System Event Log: Error 6/9/2011 19:47 Service Control Manager 7001 None The Net.Tcp Listener Adapter service depends on the Net.Tcp Port Sharing Service service which failed to start because of the following error: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion." Error 6/9/2011 19:47 Service Control Manager 7000 None The Net.Tcp Port Sharing Service service failed to start due to the following error: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion." Error 6/9/2011 19:47 Service Control Manager 7009 None A timeout was reached (30000 milliseconds) while waiting for the Net.Tcp Port Sharing Service service to connect. This post suggests that it's something else blocking the port (in the post it's SCCM 2007 R3 Client which I don't use). What else could be the problem? If it's something else blocking the port, how do I figure out what? When I manually start the services, they start correctly. Dependencies are: Net.Tcp Port Sharing Service Net.Tcp Listener Adapter Still no luck, but I think the problem might be that my network connection takes too long to come up.   • Avoiding DNS timeouts when a dns server fails

    Hi there. We have a small datacenter with about a hundred hosts pointing to 3 internal dns servers (bind 9). Our problem comes when one of the internal dns servers becomes unavailable. At that point all the clients that point to that server start performing very slowly. The problem seems to be that the stock linux resolver doesn't really have the concept of "failing over" to a different dns server. You can adjust the timeout and number of retries it uses, (and set rotate so it will work through the list), but no matter what settings one uses our services perform much more slowly if a primary dns server becomes unavailable. At the moment this is one of the largest sources of service disruptions for us. My ideal answer would be something like "RTFM: tweak /etc/resolv.conf like this...", but if that's an option I haven't seen it. I was wondering how other folks handled this issue? I can see 3 possible types of solutions: Use linux-ha/Pacemaker and failover ips (so the dns IP VIPs are "always" available). Alas, we don't have a good fencing infrastructure, and without fencing pacemaker doesn't work very well (in my experience Pacemaker lowers availability without fencing). Run a local dns server on each node, and have resolv.conf point to localhost. This would work, but it would give us a lot more services to monitor and manage. Run a local cache on each node. Folks seem to consider nscd "broken", but dnrd seems to have the right feature set: it marks dns servers as up or down, and won't use 'down' dns servers. Any-casting seems to work only at the ip routing level, and depends on route updates for server failure. Multi-casting seemed like it would be a perfect answer, but bind does not support broadcasting or multi-casting, and the docs I could find seem to suggest that multicast dns is more aimed at service discovery and auto-configuration rather than regular dns resolving. Am I missing an obvious solution?

  • Windows Start Menu Not Staying on Top

    Hey everyone. I've had this problem since Windows Vista. I did a clean install with Windows 7 and hoped it would fix the problem. Also swapped out the video card just to rule out a strange driver issue. Here's what's happening. After running for some period of time (usually a few hours), the Start button/orb will loose it's "Chrome" and turn into a plain button that just says "Start." It will work fine for a while, but then the start menu will just stop showing. Additionally, when I hit Win+D to show the desktop, the entire taskbar completely disappears. I can get it back usually by moving/minimizing windows that may be overlapping where the start menu should show. Otherwise, it requires either a full reboot or I'll end up killing & restarting the explorer.exe process.
