  • How to change language/region in a YQL search.spelling/search.suggestion query?

    Hello, I'm trying to use YQL's spelling and search suggestions, but as much as I try I cant find a way to change the language/region for the query, how is this done? I want to look for spelling/suggestions in spanish/mexico ("es-MX") I'm pretty happy with the results I get for queries in English, but when looking in Spanish I get no results: select * from search.suggest where query="dolor de cabeza" <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <query xmlns:yahoo="http://www.yahooapis.com/v1/base.rng" yahoo:count="0" yahoo:created="2010-11-22T17:41:13Z" yahoo:lang="en-US"> <results/> </query> I've looked around for a way to change yahoo:lang="en-US" to yahoo:lang="es-MX" but I cant find andy documentation about it.   • How to format dates in Jahia 6 CMS?

    I am helping a friend of mine put up a site for his business. I’ve read different posts and sites trying to find the ideal CMS tool, but people have different views of what is the best, so I finally just picked one of them at random. So I went for an evaluation of Jahia 6.0-CE. As you’ve probably guessed by now, I don’t have so much experience with CMS tools. I just want to setup the CMS, write the templates for the site and let my friend manage the content from there on. So I extracted the sources from SVN and went for a test drive. I managed to create some simple templates to get a hang of things but now I have an issue with a date format. In my definitions.cnd I declared the field like so: date myDateField (datetimepicker[format='dd.MM.yyyy']) This is formatted in the page and the selector also presents this in the dd.MM.yyyy format when inserting the content. But how about sites in other countries, countries that represent the date as MM.dd.yyyy for example? If I specify the format in the CND, hard coded, how can I change this later on so that it adapts based on the browser’s language? Do I extract the content from the repository and format it by hand in the JSP template based on a Locale, or is there a better way? Thank you.

  • Grails: GGTS not running on Amazon AWS EC2 anyone else successful?

    Im just curious if anyone has had success trying to run the Groovy Grails tool suite on an Amazon AWS EC2 instance with its display exported into your windows machine. If so, I wanted to know which flavor of linux was used on the EC2. I am not having much success with it on the Amazon Linux but haven't tried their Ubuntu instances yet. I got all the way to getting GGTS installed and getting the display exported but when I launch GGTS I get log errors about libraries missing. This is most likely because I didn't use yum to install it so I am probably missing dependencies but I didn't have a choice its not offered as a yum package.     When I am going to upload a file, my $_POST variable knows the file name, but the $_FILES variable is null. I've used this code before, so I'm really stumped.   • Why is good UI design so hard for some Developers?

    Some of us just have a hard time with the softer aspects of UI design (myself especially). Are "back-end coders" doomed to only design business logic and data layers? Is there something we can do to retrain our brain to be more effective at designing pleasing and useful presentation layers? Colleagues have recommended a few books me including The Design of Sites, Don't make me think and Why Software sucks , but I am wondering what others have done to remove their deficiencies in this area?

  • Visual Studio 2008 - Assemblies are not loaded into Modules after relocating the website and project

    I recently moved the asp.net website solution folder (along with class projects) to different location. As the result, visual studio doesn't stop at break points, and I could not able to debug. I see none of my assemblies at Debug Windows Modules; only microsoft assemblies are loaded. I have also deleted all bin folder and re-referenced all projects. But still no luck. Thanks in advance!

  • Exposing console apps to the web with Ruby

    I'm looking to expose an interactive command line program via JSON or another RPC style service using Ruby. I've found a couple tricks to do this, but im missing something when redirecting the output and input. One method at least on linux is to redirect the stdin and stdout to a file then read and write to that file asynchronously with file reads and writes. Another method ive been trying after googling around was to use open4.   • CodeIgniter - the right way to create "block" elements on web page

    Hello. I've been searching for a solutions for this problem a while but haven't seen any "valid mvc" solution for this. I hope I can explain my problem clearly enough for you guys. I need to create a dynamic block of HTML on my website. (eg. a block containing user's latest blog comments). I have a template view file (a file containing header, content container and a footer) where I need to add some content AND this block element. The problem is that I don't want to duplicate this block code on every controller. It just feels stupid and I'm sure there's a better way to do this than just duplicating same stuff all over again on all the controller files? I can add view inside another view just fine, but what bugs me is how to actually generate that dynamic content to this block's view-file. I can't call controller from view file, controller from controller filem or model from view file because what I understand that just isn't the "mvc" way? Anyone got any tricks or tips for this?

    I want to style the :active state of a button that is represented by an . The tag has an inner (beacuse I want to add an icon to this button). I notice the :active state is triggered properly in everything but Internet Explorer. In IE, it appears that the area around the (the 's padding) triggers that :active state, but when clicking directly on the text within the , the :active state is not triggered. Is there a way to fix this without resorting to Javascript?

How to reproduce: Clear cookies in IE (not necessary if you never visited unisender.com). Visit unisender.com (exactly without www to reproduce!) and it will redirect to www.unisender.com Login with any valid username and password (I've registered username testmsdn with password testmsdn - feel free to use for testing) Run your favourite capture-the-traffic program (I prefer wireshark) Now click any menu link (e.g. "messages") Look at captured traffic - you will see that IE sends double PHPSESSID cookie (and you are logged out after click because of this).   • How to transfer visitors to the servers closes to them and where to place the servers?

    I am focusing on providing fast page refreshes for my visitors and I wonder where is the smartest spot to place my servers on? I understand that the best would be to place a server in every country or even city, but that is of course not doable with my economy. I am thinking of maybe setting up three servers, one in the middle of USA (Kansas?), one in Italy and one in Sweden. What do you think about that? I don't care about Africa since they haven't even got computers so I won't get traffic from there anyway. China, North Korea etc are probably just visiting chinese websites, they barely know english anway... The next problem is how do I redirect a visitor from Finland to the Swedish server? I don't want the visitor from Finland to be using the USA server or vice versa.

  • Virtual PC (XPMode) - How to access Webserver on guest from host

    I have Windows XP running inside Windows 7 via Virtual PC (XPMode) and installed Zend Server CE on the virtual XP guest. The webserver is running and can be accessed on the guest, but I cannot access the webserver from the Win7 host. I configured a static IP address and subnet of 255.255.255.0 on the guest and can ping this IP from the guest but not from the host. The other way it works fine, i.e. I can ping the host from the guest. I can also access the internet from the virtual XP guest. I tried different Network Options in the VirtualPC settings, but nothing helps. Googling the topic I couldn't find anything helpful yet. Any idea, what I could try to access the webserver on the virtual XP guest from the Win7 host?

    Hi, I would like to allow my users to authorise my app with their fb on registration. All of the examples i see redirect users to the fb canvas page after authorisation, but i only want this to be a step in the registration process. Essentially, i want an icon they can click that would open up a new window where they can login to fb and a simple postback to the registration page where i would detect the login and hide the login button. Any ideas on how I can achieve this using the facebook c# sdk? Thanks and Merry Christmas :)

  • Windows Service Start-Up Error 1069

    Hello, I am installing a new windows service coded in C# on a server. I installed the service fine on the server, but once i manually start up the service on a server, with the same login credentials that our other services use, i get the fatal error message notification: "Could not start the %service name% on Local Computer. Error 1069: The Service did not start due to a logon failure." I looked in the event log and i got a 7038 and 7000 event id error in that order. 7038 event id message: "The %service name% service was unable to log on as %login% with the currently configured password due to the following error: Logon failure: unknown user name or bad password. To ensure that the service is configured properly, use the Services snap-in in Microsoft Management Console (MMC)." 7000 event id message: "The %service name% service failed to start due to the following error: The service did not start due to a logon failure. " I have other services that are using the same exact login account and they work fine. Is there something simple I could be missing? Thanks

  • Slick PHP based image manager for managing user profile images

    Hi, I'm just throwing this out there as I'm plodding my way through creating a Member Photo album on a site i'm working on, where they can login and upload their photos to a personal gallery. I want this to be nice and lightweight, but still slick and "modern" with a modal based interface for the user. I'm surprised though that there is seemingly nothing open source out there which fits the bill - I've done a few searches on Google to no avail and can't seem to find anything. Lots of bloated photo galleries out there but nothing looks like it has been developed using more recent technologies. Is anyone aware of anything which might suit what I'm looking for? I'm fully prepared to try and code it myself but I'd be delighted if I didn't have to! Pure laziness you might say, but there's no point reinventing the wheel.
