• VB.net 'cross-referencing' tables.

  Hello, I have a DataGridView that is being filled with data from a table. Inside this table is a column called 'group' that has the ID of an individual group in another table. What I would like to do, is when the DataGridView is filled, instead of showing the ID contained in 'group', I'd like it to display the name of the group. Is there some type of VB.net 'magic' that can do this, or do I need to cross-reference the data myself? Here is a breakdown of what the 2 tables look like: table1 id group (this holds the value of column id in table 2) weight last_update table2 id description (this is what I would like to be displayed in the DGV.) take care, lee BTW - I am using Visual Studios Express.

  Hello, I'm working on a soundboard, however I've got a problem when it come to drag the finger over the screen to play the sounds for the buttons I drag the finger over.   Hello I'm new to JPA and using persistence in Java anyway and I have two questions I can't quite work out: I have generated tags as: @JoinColumn(name = "UserName", referencedColumnName = "UserName") @ManyToOne(optional = false) private User userName; @JoinColumn(name = "DatasetNo", referencedColumnName = "DatasetNo") @ManyToOne(optional = false) private Dataset datasetNo; But in one of the constructors for the class, no reference is made to columns UserName or DatasetNo whereas all other columns in the class are referenced in the constructor. Can anyone tell me why this is? Both columns UserName and DatasetNo are 'foreign keys' on the entity Visualisation which corresponds to a database table of the same name. I can't quite work out the ORM. And when using entity classes, or POJO, is it better to have class variables like: private User userName; Where an instance of a class is specified or simply the key of that class instance like: private String userName; Thanks Mr Morgan.

So I'm currently working on an ePub reader application, and I've been reading through a bunch of regular XML files just fine with System.Xml and XmlDocument: XmlDocument xmldoc = new XmlDocument(); xmldoc.Load(Path.Combine(Directory.GetCurrentDirectory(), "META-INF/container.xml")); XmlNodeList xnl = xmldoc.GetElementsByTagName("rootfile"); However, now I'm trying to open the XHTML files that contain the actual book text, and they're XHTML files. Now I don't really know the difference between the two, but I'm getting the following error with this code (in the same document, using the same XmlDocument and XmlNodeList variable) xmldoc.Load(Path.Combine(Directory.GetCurrentDirectory(), "OEBPS/part1.xhtml")); "WebException was unhandled: The remote server returned an error: (503) Server Unavailable" It's a local document, so I'm not understanding why it's giving this error? Any help would be greatly appreciated. :) I've got the full source code here if it helps: http://drop.io/epubtest (I know the ePubConstructor.ParseDocument() method is horribly messy, I'm just trying to get it working at the moment before I split it into classes)

• How can I "remind" users to fill in cells on a worksheet

  Hello: I have a set of cells on a worksheet called "Docs". The cell range is (B13:C23). When users get taken to this page, they are meant to fill out each of these cells with a value from 0 through 6. My Question: Is there some code that I can attach to this sheet where, if a user does not fill in a cell with anything (ie. leaves it blank) and tries to leave the sheet or close the workbook, they are somehow reminded to fill it in? Or is there a way to not let them leave the sheet until it's completed? Thanks.. Allan

Could it be that the string A::getString() returns is being allocated in A.dll and freed in main.exe? If so, why - and what would be a safe way to pass strings between DLLs (or executables, for that matter)? Without using wrappers like shared_ptr with a custom deleter.

  Hello, I have a cmd command that needs to be executed, when the command starts it starts to fill a progressbar. When the cmd command is done the progressbar needs to fill up to 100. This is the code i use, but it gives me an error when the progressbar.Value = 100 comes up. VB gives me a suggestions about Cross Thread, but i don't know how i could make it work with this.

  Hello all I am working in Flex. I have an arraycollection which is used to fill a tilelist with images. I am using filter method of arraycollection to filter out certain images from tilelist based on a selected value from combobox. The issue is that when the images are filtered out they just vanish suddenly. But I want to give some effect to them when they are filtered out, say slow fade effect or zoom effect. I tried removedEffect, hideEffect etc. but in vain. Can anyone please help me out. thanks.

  Hello everyone, I am using Silverlight 3 + VSTS 2008. I have a image (Multiscale image control) and I place tooltip on this image. The function of Tooltip works fine. Since the image is big (about 500 * 500 size), and since end user could move mouse on the picture, and I want to display tooltip position along with the mouse (i.e. when mouse moves, I want to tooltip move along with the mouse). Currently, the tooltip displays at a fixed position. • Wordpress add a new page to admin section

  Hello. I have already developed my plugin for wordpress and I can manage it from admin. I have passed the access to the plugin file usin add_submenu_page. The problem is that the plugin is extending and I want to use another file that is linked from the main file. For example I have second_page.php?id=3. When I try to access this link, i get a "You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page." message. I want to "validate" this page also for using with this script and I don't know how. Ideas ?

• Get clientid in user control from external javascript file

  Hello, I am developing a user control (ascx) in ASP.NET which uses javascript for manipulating controls. Currently the javascript code is inlined and uses <%= somecontrol.ClientID %> to get the control it needs. I want to put the javascript file in external file but from external file I cannot use the above syntax for retrieving controls. I have read about possible solutions in this and this answers but the problem is that the user control can be placed multiple times on page. This means that the Controls array (mentioned in the answers) will be rendered several times with different items. As a result the script will not be able to retrieve the id it needs. If I put <%= ClientId %> in the name of array that holds items then I will have the same problem as I am trying to solve. Any ideas?

  Hello, I have several forms that are localized to multiple languages. If I do a change on one form (for example, changing the size of a textbox) the change is done only on the localized version of the Form that I have currently selected. Is there a way of extending the change I've done the different localized versions of the same Form to avoid having to go one by one doing the same change by hand? Thanks in advance for your help. EDIT: I'm talking about different forms when the real thign is that you have one form and several resources. The point is that at the end is just like if you have different forms for each locale because the form is built with the data from the resource. The problem is still the same because the edits done on the form are stored at one resource file and I have to put by hand those edits in all the resources.

  Hello, I am using .NET 2.0 & C# to develop a WinForm Mdi application. It will have a Main Window and a lot of mdi windows. I am thinking I should use which design pattern to manage mdi windows. Because I want only one instance for each window, if window is existed, I will show it on top, & otherwise I will create and show it. Note: a mdi window is opened from Menus of Main Window or open from another mdi window. An example is very good. Update: Menu's status is depended on mdi window's status. Ex: If Window 'A' is openned - menu 'A' - disabled. When window 'A' is closed - I update menu 'A' status to Enabled. Thanks.

  Hello guys, I was checking out the stocktwits.com website. While signing up I provided them with my twitter username. Now whenever I tweet and if my tweet contains $ and a stock ticker symbol - it instantly appears on Stocktwits.com I am interested in implementing something similar in my website. Just wanted an understanding of how this would work. This is how I'm assuming it would work at a high level: 1) On my website - require users to provide their twitter usernames 2) Run a cron job every few minutes to pull the latest tweets for each of the usernames provided using something like http://twitter.com/statuses/user_timeline/username.xml I've tried Stocktwits and they updates are almost instantaneous - so it does not appear like they are checking for updates every few minutes.   Hello, I have a form that is generated on a customer's website (lets say customer.com) with javascript that a user fills out and it sends to my site (app.com). I would like to be able to provide information to the customer such as how effective their AdWords campaign was and what search engines users used to end up filling out the form. I have started looking at the multiple domain linking option but I am not sure this is the right way. Is there a way to query what search engine and key words they used and pass this along with the form?
