  • DataTable Delete Row and AcceptChanges

    - by Pang
    DataTable DT num type name =================================== 001 A Peter 002 A Sam 003 B John public static void fun1(ref DataTable DT, String TargetType) { for (int i = 0; i < DT.Rows.Count; i++) { string type = DT.Rows[i]["type"]; if (type == TargetType) { /**Do Something**/ DT.Rows[i].Delete(); } } DT.AcceptChanges(); } My function get specific data rows in datatable according to the TargetType and use their info to do something. After the datarow is read (match the target type), it will be deleted. However, the row is deleted immediately after .Delete() execute, so the location of the next row (by i) is incorrect. For example, if TargetType is A. When i=0, the "Peter" row is deleted after .Delete executed. Then when i=1, I suppose it will locate the "Sam" row but it actually located "John" row because "Peter" row is deleted. Is there any problem in my codes?

  • Is it faster to do the pages first and CSS second, or should I do them at the same time?

    - by Fred Haslam
    I have been tasked with building a new web project from scratch, with the exception of reusing CSS files (the look and feel) from an existing project. In the past I have always completed development of the functionality and the web-ui before considering the appearance. This is mostly due to CSS development overlapping with the tail end of the project. I now have the opportunity to integrate a static set of CSS as I build the application. I have no experience with this circumstance. Would it be faster to develop the project and web-pages first, then integrate the CSS; or would it be faster to integrate the CSS as part of page development?

  • C#/.NET: Separation of multipage tiff with compression "CCITT T.6" very slow

    - by Alex B
    I need to separate multiframe tiff files, and use the following method: public static Image[] GetFrames(Image sourceImage) { Guid objGuid = sourceImage.FrameDimensionsList[0]; FrameDimension objDimension = new FrameDimension(objGuid); int frameCount = sourceImage.GetFrameCount(objDimension); Image[] images = new Image[frameCount]; for (int i = 0; i < frameCount; i++) { MemoryStream ms = new MemoryStream(); sourceImage.SelectActiveFrame(objDimension, i); sourceImage.Save(ms, ImageFormat.Tiff); images[i] = Image.FromStream(ms); } return images; } It works fine, butt if the source was encoded using the CCITT T.6 compression, separating a 20-frame-file takes up to 15 seconds on my 2,5ghz CPU. Saving the images afterwards to a single file using standard compression (LZW), the separation time is under 1 second. Is there a way to speed up the process?

  • Write a program that allows the user to enter a string and then prints the letters of the String sep

    - by WM
    The output is always a String, for example H,E,L,L,O,. How could I limit the commas? I want the commas only between letters, for example H,E,L,L,O. import java.util.Scanner; import java.lang.String; public class forLoop { public static void main(String[] args) { Scanner Scan = new Scanner(System.in); System.out.print("Enter a string: "); String Str1 = Scan.next(); String newString=""; String Str2 =""; for (int i=0; i < Str1.length(); i++) { newString = Str1.charAt(i) + ","; Str2 = Str2 + newString; } System.out.print(Str2); } }

  • Strange execution of get accesor in c#?

    - by Kenji Kina
    I set up a simple program just to test how the code inside a get accessor executes (since I had been having some issues in another project), and found something quite strange: class Program { static void Main(string[] args) { var test = new TestClass(); var testBool = test.TestBool; } } public class TestClass { private bool _testBool = true; public bool TestBool { get { if (_testBool) { Console.WriteLine("true!"); } else { Console.WriteLine("false! WTF!"); } _testBool = false; return _testBool; } } } I expected the output to be true! But what I got instead was true! false! WTF! Just what is going on here?

  • StremReader.ReadToEnd() returning an empty string

    - by axk
    I have a method private static String DecompressAndDecode(byte[] data) { GZipStream decompressor = new GZipStream(new MemoryStream(data), CompressionMode.Decompress); StreamReader decompressed = new StreamReader(decompressor, Encoding.UTF8); String result = decompressed.ReadToEnd(); return result; } I have some GZipped text as input and the result is supposed to be a String representation of this text. The problem is that the method returns an empty string. What is puzzling me is that when I step trough the method in debug mode and reach the return statement the result variable is an empty string but if I create a watch for the decompressed.ReadToEnd() expression it returns me the text. What I would expect at this point is the result variable to contain the text and the decompressed.ReadToEnd() expression evaluating to an empty string. (Reevaluating the decompressed.ReadToEnd() expression returns an empty string as expected). There must be something obvious I'm missing here.

  • Why my custom CStatic derived control does not receive WM_SIZE message?

    - by Michael P
    Hello everyone! I'm currently developing a custom control that derives from CStatic MFC class (Smart Device C++ project). I have created the control class using VC++ MFC class wizard, selecting CStatic class as its base class. I have used Class View to add OnSize event handler for my control class (I have selected WM_SIZE message from messages list), and new OnSize method has been created by Visual Studio along with ON_WM_SIZE() statement between BEGIN_MESSAGE_MAP(...) and END_MESSAGE_MAP(). The problem is that my control does not receive WM_SIZE thus OnSize method is never called - I used MoveWindow to change size of my control - its size changes as I have seen on dialog window but WM_SIZE message is never being sent. When I send WM_SIZE through SendMessage or PostMessage function - the control OnSize method is called normally. What do I wrong? I've read MSDN docs about CStatic control and there is no information that WM_SIZE message is never sent to a static control window. Sorry for my bad English.

  • Making change recursively: How do I modify my algorithm to print all combinations?

    - by cb
    I have an algorithm that recursively makes change in the following manner: public static int makeChange(int amount, int currentCoin) { //if amount = zero, we are at the bottom of a successful recursion if (amount == 0){ //return 1 to add this successful solution return 1; //check to see if we went too far }else if(amount < 0){ //don't count this try if we went too far return 0; //if we have exhausted our list of coin values }else if(currentCoin < 0){ return 0; }else{ int firstWay = makeChange(amount, currentCoin-1); int secondWay = makeChange(amount - availableCoins[currentCoin], currentCoin); return firstWay + secondWay; } } However, I'd like to add the capability to store or print each combination as they successfully return. I'm having a bit of a hard time wrapping my head around how to do this. The original algorithm was pretty easy, but now I am frustrated. Any suggestions? CB

  • Add Widget via Action in Toolbar

    - by Geertjan
    The question of the day comes from Vadim, who asks on the NetBeans Platform mailing list: "Looking for example showing how to add Widget to Scene, e.g. by toolbar button click." Well, the solution is very similar to this blog entry, where you see a solution provided by Jesse Glick for VisiTrend in Boston: https://blogs.oracle.com/geertjan/entry/zoom_capability Other relevant articles to read are as follows: http://netbeans.dzone.com/news/which-netbeans-platform-action http://netbeans.dzone.com/how-to-make-context-sensitive-actions Let's go through it step by step, with this result in the end, a solution involving 4 classes split (optionally, since a central feature of the NetBeans Platform is modularity) across multiple modules: The Customer object has a "name" String and the Droppable capability has a method "doDrop" which takes a Customer object: public interface Droppable {    void doDrop(Customer c);} In the TopComponent, we use "TopComponent.associateLookup" to publish an instance of "Droppable", which creates a new LabelWidget and adds it to the Scene in the TopComponent. Here's the TopComponent constructor: public CustomerCanvasTopComponent() {    initComponents();    setName(Bundle.CTL_CustomerCanvasTopComponent());    setToolTipText(Bundle.HINT_CustomerCanvasTopComponent());    final Scene scene = new Scene();    final LayerWidget layerWidget = new LayerWidget(scene);    Droppable d = new Droppable(){        @Override        public void doDrop(Customer c) {            LabelWidget customerWidget = new LabelWidget(scene, c.getTitle());            customerWidget.getActions().addAction(ActionFactory.createMoveAction());            layerWidget.addChild(customerWidget);            scene.validate();        }    };    scene.addChild(layerWidget);    jScrollPane1.setViewportView(scene.createView());    associateLookup(Lookups.singleton(d));} The Action is displayed in the toolbar and is enabled only if a Droppable is currently in the Lookup: @ActionID(        category = "Tools",        id = "org.customer.controler.AddCustomerAction")@ActionRegistration(        iconBase = "org/customer/controler/icon.png",        displayName = "#AddCustomerAction")@ActionReferences({    @ActionReference(path = "Toolbars/File", position = 300)})@NbBundle.Messages("AddCustomerAction=Add Customer")public final class AddCustomerAction implements ActionListener {    private final Droppable context;    public AddCustomerAction(Droppable droppable) {        this.context = droppable;    }    @Override    public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent ev) {        NotifyDescriptor.InputLine inputLine = new NotifyDescriptor.InputLine("Name:", "Data Entry");        Object result = DialogDisplayer.getDefault().notify(inputLine);        if (result == NotifyDescriptor.OK_OPTION) {            Customer customer = new Customer(inputLine.getInputText());            context.doDrop(customer);        }    }} Therefore, when the Properties window, for example, is selected, the Action will be disabled. (See the Zoomable example referred to in the link above for another example of this.) As you can see above, when the Action is invoked, a Droppable must be available (otherwise the Action would not have been enabled). The Droppable is obtained in the Action and a new Customer object is passed to its "doDrop" method. The above in pictures, take note of the enablement of the toolbar button with the red dot, on the extreme left of the toolbar in the screenshots below: The above shows the JButton is only enabled if the relevant TopComponent is active and, when the Action is invoked, the user can enter a name, after which a new LabelWidget is created in the Scene. The source code of the above is here: http://java.net/projects/nb-api-samples/sources/api-samples/show/versions/7.3/misc/WidgetCreationFromAction Note: Showing this as an MVC example is slightly misleading because, depending on which model object ("Customer" and "Droppable") you're looking at, the V and the C are different. From the point of view of "Customer", the TopComponent is the View, while the Action is the Controler, since it determines when the M is displayed. However, from the point of view of "Droppable", the TopComponent is the Controler, since it determines when the Action, i.e., which is in this case the View, displays the presence of the M.

  • Dynamic Spacer in ReportLab

    - by ptikobj
    I'm automatically generating a PDF-file with Platypus that has dynamic content. This means that it might happen that the length of the text content (which is directly at the bottom of the pdf-file) may vary. However, it might happen that a page break is done in cases where the content is too long. This is because i use a "static" spacer: s = Spacer(width=0, height=23.5*cm) as i always want to have only one page, I somehow need to dynamically set the height of the Spacer, so that it takes the "rest" of the space that is on the page as its height. Now, how do i get the "rest" of height that is left on my page?

  • C++ this as thread parameter, variables unavailable

    - by brecht
    I have three classes: class Rtss_Generator { int mv_transfersize; } class Rtss_GenSine : Rtss_Generator class Rtss_GenSineRpm : Rtss_GenSine Rtss_GenSine creates a thread in his constructer, it is started immediatly and the threadfunction is off-course declared static, waiting for an event to start calculating. the problem: all the variables that are accessed through the gen-pointer are 0, but it does not fail. Also, this-address in the constructer and the gen-pointer-address in the thread are the same, so the pointer is ok. this code is created and compile in visual studio 6.0 service pack 2003 ORIGINAL CODE no thread Rtss_GenSine::getNextData() { //[CALCULATION] //mv_transferSize is accessible and has ALWAYS value 1600 which is ok } NEW CODE Rtss_GenSine::Rtss_GenSine() { createThread(NULL, threadFunction, (LPVOID) this,0,0); } Rtss_GenSine::getNextData() { SetEvent(startCalculating); WaitForSingleObject(stoppedCalculaing, INFINITE); } DWORD Rtss_GenSine::threadFunction(LPVOID pParam) { Rtss_GenSine* gen = (Rtss_GenSine*) pParam; while(runThread) { WaitForSingleObject(startCalculating, INFINITE); ResetEvent(startCalculating) //[CALCULATION] //gen->mv_transferSize ---> it does not fail, but is always zero //all variables accessed via the gen-pointer are 0 setEvent(stoppedCalculaing) } }

  • Is there a lightweight multipart/form-data parser in C or C++?

    - by Hongli
    I'm looking at integrating multipart form-data parsing in a web server module so that I can relieve backend web applications (often written in dynamic languages) from parsing the multipart data themselves. The multipart grammar (RFC 2046) looks non-trivial and if I implement it by hand a lot of things can go wrong. Is there already a good, lightweight multipart/form-data parser written in C or C++? I'm looking for one with no external dependencies other than the C or C++ standard library. I don't need email attachment handling or buffered I/O classes or a portability runtime or whatever, just multipart/form-data parsing. Things that I've considered: GMime - depends on glib, so no go. libapreq - too large, depends on APR, badly documented, no unit tests. I've also looked at writing a parser with Ragel, but I can't figure out how to do it because the grammar is not static: the boundary can change arbitrarily.

  • Is it possible to create ICriteria/ICriterion from LINQ or HQL?

    - by adrin
    I am creating a method that can create filter understood by NHibernate (by filter i mean a set of ICriteria object for example) from my abstract filter object. public static IEnumerable<ICriterion> ToNhCriteria(this MyCriteria criteria) { // T4 generated function // lots of result.Add(Expression.Or(Expression.Eq(),Expression.Eq)) expression trees - hard to generate // Is there a way to generate HQL/Linq query here istead? } then i want to do something like session.CreateCriteria<Entity>().Add(myCriteria.ToNhCriteria()) to filter entities. The problem is that using Expression. methods (Expression.Or etc) is quite tedious (the method is generated and i have multiple or statements that have to be joined into an expression somehow). Is there a way to avoid using Expression.Or() and create ICrietrion / ICriteria using LINQ or HQL?

  • BuiltIn Function to Convert from Hex String to Byte

    - by Ngu Soon Hui
    This question is similar to the one here. One can easily convert from hex string to byte via the following formula: public static byte[] HexStringToBytes(string hex) { byte[] data = new byte[hex.Length /2]; int j = 0; for (int i = 0; i < hex.Length; i+=2) { data[ j ] = Convert.ToByte(hex.Substring(i, 2), 16); ++j; } return data; } But is there a built-in function ( inside .net framework) for this?

  • Making element draggable with Android WebView (ideally, just with Javascript) ?

    - by GJTorikian
    I'm building an app with a build target of 1.5 . I have a variable, WebView browser, that is calling loadUrl to load a static HTML page from my assets folder. In that HTML page, the following JavaScript is defined: var supportsTouch = ('createTouch' in document); ... var w = $('wrapper'); w[supportsTouch ? 'touchmove' : 'onmousemove'] = move; w[supportsTouch ? 'touchend' : 'onmouseup'] = function(event){ dragging = false; }; where move is another function that handles the dragging. Unfortunately, this doesn't seem to work. I cannot figure out a concise list of which touch events are available to Android--is it ontouchmove, or touchmove? Am I supposed to set up an onTouchEvent call back in my Java code, which then launches the JavaScript function?

  • Efficient mass string search problem.

    - by Monomer
    The Problem: A large static list of strings is provided. A pattern string comprised of data and wildcard elements (* and ?). The idea is to return all the strings that match the pattern - simple enough. Current Solution: I'm currently using a linear approach of scanning the large list and globbing each entry against the pattern. My Question: Are there any suitable data structures that I can store the large list into such that the search's complexity is less than O(n)? Perhaps something akin to a suffix-trie? I've also considered using bi- and tri-grams in a hashtable, but the logic required in evaluating a match based on a merge of the list of words returned and the pattern is a nightmare, and I'm not convinced its the correct approach.

  • C# Assembly Xna.Framework.dll does not load

    - by jbsnorro
    When trying to load Microsoft.Xna.Framework.dll from any project, it throws a FileNotFoundException. The specified module could not be found. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8007007E), with no innerException. Even the simple code like the following throws that exception: static void Main(string[] args) { Assembly.LoadFile(@"C:\Microsoft.Xna.Framework.dll"); } I run XP x64, but I've set the platform in the configuration manager to x86, because I know it shouldn't(doesn't) work on x64 or Any CPU. I've manually added the dll file to GAC, but that didn't solve the problem. I have also tried the M$ Assembly Binding Log Viewer to see if those logs had any useful information, but they didn't. Everything, the loading etc, was a success according to them. Any suggestions? please?

  • LINQ DefaultIfEmpty(), generating inferred argument error

    - by Refracted Paladin
    I am trying to get the below linq query to return -1 if there isn't any current value. I was looking at this article on MSDN, here, and it seemed that DefaultIfEmpty() was what I wanted. Unfortunately, I am getting a The type arguments cannot be inferred from the usage. Try specifying the type arguments explicitly. error. I guess I am not sure what that means or what it is telling me to do. Can someone explain, please. public static int CheckForDRIID(int personID) { using (var context = ConnectDataContext.Create()) { var masterIndex = (from applicationAssociation in context.tblApplicationAssociations where applicationAssociation.ApplicationID == 1 && applicationAssociation.PersonID == personID select applicationAssociation.PersonApplicationID).DefaultIfEmpty(-1).Single(); return Convert.ToInt32(masterIndex); } }

  • Why does the data binding in this validation example work?

    - by MartyIX
    I'm wondering how exactly the XAML sample (MSDN sample) works: <Style x:Key="textBoxInError" TargetType="{x:Type TextBox}"> <Style.Triggers> <Trigger Property="Validation.HasError" Value="true"> <Setter Property="ToolTip" Value="{Binding RelativeSource={x:Static RelativeSource.Self}, Path=(Validation.Errors)[0].ErrorContent}"/> </Trigger> </Style.Triggers> </Style> Questions: (Validation.Errors)[0].ErrorContent - Is this code somehow checked by WPF? Because Validation.Errors may be an empty collection and in ordinary C# code this code may throw an exception. If this data-binding returns null for valid input - the null value is then casted to empty string (in a text control for example)? The index 0 corresponds to the first error message. How can I return more error messages from Validate method? Thank you for responses!

  • How do I customize what a third party MSM does?

    - by sqlrob
    I'm trying to convert a project in Visual Studio 2008 from static linking of the CRT to dynamic linking. This was easy enough, and I added the CRT MSM and policy MSM to my Wix file with no problems. I am not that happy with the MSI that is output though, it is much larger than what I expected. Looking at the MSI with Orca shows three copies of the CRT DLLs that I need. From looking at the conditions, one of the sets is used for pre-XP installs. Since the system requirements are XP and later, how do I remove this component without touching the original MSM? This needs to be done in an automated build, so Orca isn't a possible solution. Plus, when I tried it with Orca, the filesize remained the same after deleting the File and Component rows. And somewhat related, how do I set the permanent attribute in the components that remain?

  • using C function in C#

    - by andrew

  • cross-user C# mutex

    - by Martin
    My app is forced to use a 3rd party module which will blue-screen Windows if two instances are started at the same time on the same machine. To work around the issue, my C# app has a mutex: static Mutex mutex = new Mutex(true, "{MyApp_b9d19f99-b83e-4755-9b11-d204dbd6d096}"); And I check if it's present - and if so I show an error message and close the app: bool IsAnotherInstanceRunning() { if (mutex.WaitOne(TimeSpan.Zero, true)) return (true); else return (false); } The problem is if two users can log in and open the application at the same time, and IsAnotherInstanceRunning() will return false. How do I get around this?
