  In the past I've had some experience of Qt in C++. I've now started using PyQt, and finding it a bit bewildering. There doesn't seem to be any definitive source of documentation, apart from a small amount at Riverbank. I guess the first thing I'd like to know is that there's an initial hump with PyQt, and it does get easier. The Riverbank docs talk about new style signals and slots for PyQt, as well as old style. They suggest that the new style is better, but I was wondering if that is what most users of PyQt do.

• vb.net designing questions

  i have created a dynamic table through vb.net, so htmltable, htmltablerow, htmltablecell. I have added all style and properties in there. so eg. dim td as htmltablecell td.style.add("width","100px") td.style.add("color","blue") now what i want to do is add the tag to each row. this is because the first td of every row is a checkbox. and then textboxes follow. So when anyone clicks on the textbox, i want to checkbox to get checked. Any idea how I can do this?

I am using jQuery else where on the site, so it's available. I also need to deal with an image not being loaded right away as the images are larger.

Now on the TextView this one is triggered correctly, and on all empty area. Just on the Button it doesn't invoke the onClick method that I set. Is this normal? What do I have to do so that the onClick method is invoked everywhere on the LinearLayout?

  I'm having trouble with the MyClass::function(); style of calling methods and can't figure out why. Here's an example (I'm using Kohana framework btw): class Test_Core { public $var1 = "lots of testing"; public function output() { $print_out = $this->var1; echo $print_out; } } I try to use the following to call it, but it returns $var1 as undefined: Test::output() However, this works fine: $test = new Test(); $test->output(); I generally use this style of calling objects as opposed to the "new Class" style, but I can't figure out why it doesn't want to work.

• Design view disappeared from Interface Builder

  All of a sudden, the visual design window disappeared from my Interface Builder. It is a regular UIView, has some UIImageView, UILabel, and UIButtons on it. When I open IB, I can see the document window (with File's Owner, First Responder and View in it), Library and Inspector, but the visual design window disappeared. Double click on "View" in the document window doesn't do anything. If I go to List mode, I can see all the components on the view, but just can no longer find the visual design window. All other XIB can open just fine, only this XIB lost its design window. First I thought maybe it was hidden somewhere on the screen. Tried all kinds of things, even rebooting the computer, but nothing helped. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance! By the way, I'm running SDK 3.2 Beta 3.

  I have a splitview with a pop over master view using UINavigationController. The problem is I have some custom text views in the header of the nav controller and when it switches to the pop-over view the style of the nav bar changes. This makes the colors of the text clash since they are no longer using the correct settings for the new navbar style. How do you determine the proper default text colors for a given navigation bar (style)? The issue is because I'm using a split view in the iPad but you should be able to determine the proper colors for an iPhone nav bar too.

  Hi All, I am writing a tool which generates some Spreadsheet ML (XML) to create an Excel spreadsheet for my users. I have defined a style as follows: <Style ss:ID="GreenText"> <Font ss:FontName="Arial" ss:Size="9" ss:Color="#8CBE50" /> </Style> This works to an extent, but when I open it in Excel the colour rendered for the text isn't the one I specified - it's a brighter version. I can use the same colour reference for a cell border and the colour is rendered correctly. Can anyone shed any light on why the text colour isn't rendered correctly? Thanks!

• How do I debug a .NET executable at MSIL-level?

  I have a .NET executable file that I need to debug. I would like to step into it so that it stops on the first instruction and have a visual interface for single-stepping, breakpoints, etc. This seems like it should be easier but I haven't yet found a solution! I read about DbgCLR.exe on the web but I can't find that file on my system or online for the life of me. I also read somewhere that DbgCLR.exe is no longer necessary because Visual Studio can do the same thing. A Visual Studio .NET solution would be great, too! (Maybe there's a menu item that I overlooked?) Either will suit, so long as I can inspect the stack, set breakpoints, etc.

  Hello, I'm trying to read a css file with the Resources provided by Spring. My application looks like this: src src/com herer my classes inside packages WebContent WebContent/resources/style/myCSS.css -- the css I want to read WebContent/WEB-INF -- here is my application-context.xml I can get the css and read it by doing something like this: UrlResource file = new UrlResource("http://localhost:8080/myApp/resources/style/myCSS.css"); but it depends on the server and aplication names. I've tried to do it by other implementations of Resource Interface, but the file is not found cause I can't find out how to wite the path. I've tried with this: FileSystemResource file = new FileSystemResource("/WebContent/resources/style/myCSS.css"); I also tried with wildcards, but it doesn't find the file either. ApplicationContext ctx = new FileSystemXmlApplicationContext("classpath*:/WEB-INF/application-context-core.xml"); Resource file = ctx.getResource("file:**/myCSS.css"); How should I write the path to get the css.   I've created some functions / procedures with VB.NET and want to deploy them to a SQLServer. Within Visual Studio you can click right and select "deploy". An assembly will be created on the server and a lot of functions and procedures. It's really easy. Now I want to script the whole deployment process. What is Visual Studio doing when I make a deployment? Can Visual Studio autoscript all the deployment steps for me? Can I save it to a file and execute it manually?

  Hey, I'm trying to seek through a RandomAccessFile, and as part of an algorithm I have to read a line, and then seek backwards from the end of the line E.g String line = raf.readLine(); raf.seek (raf.getFilePointer() - line.length() + m.start() + m.group().length()); //m is a Matcher for regular expressions I've been getting loads of off-by-one errors and couldn't figure out why. I just discovered it's because some files I'm reading from have UNIX-style linefeeds, \r\n, and some have just windows-style \n. Is there an easy to have the RandomAccessFile treat all linefeeds as windows-style linefeeds?
