  • How to "undo" (revert) Ctrl+L?

    I'm on 12.04 Desktop. When browsing the file system, it's convenient to type Ctrl+L so as to get the file path "Location" to render as a string; I can then modify the file path or even paste something in and get redirected right where I want to go. But often, after typing Ctrl+L, I find myself wanting to revert back to the normal way Nautilus renders the file path (as a series of buttons/links). What's the magical shortcut to "undo" Ctrl+L and go back to "normal mode"? Thanks in advance!

  • Ctrl+Alt+T doesn't open Terminal (Compiz related?)

    Ctrl+Alt+T doesn't open the Terminal, and I'm pretty sure it's got something to do with Compiz. Compiz disabled the transparency on my launcher (using Ub.12.04LTS+Unity) and so I uninstalled it. But after I uninstalled Compiz, my UI was messed up, so I reinstalled it, now Ctrl+Alt+T doesn't open the terminal. System Settings Keyboard Shortcuts has the shortcut to terminal there, but it simply does not work. Any tips on what I could do? Thanks in advance!

    From the new Nautilus releases exist the ability to create shortcut/bookmarks simply by drag&drop folder onto the nautilus left panel; However, this behavior can unintentionally create additional bookmarks if you are not very accurate when dragging files to bookmarks, especially by people with little experience in the use of computer. How is possible to disable the drag&drop bookmarks creation? Or ideally should be planning to implement the drag & drop mode only if you are running in conjunction with the press of a key on the keyboard ..

  • WIX will not add HKLM registry setting during Windows 7 install

    Good Morning, I have written a WiX installer that works perfectly with Windows XP but when installing to a Windows 7 box I am running into difficulty with Registry Entries. What I need to do is add a HKLM entry as well as the registry entry for the program to show in the start menu.   • How do you disable a DataGridView's keyboard shorcuts?

    I've just noticed that DataGridViews have a default shortcut so that whenever you press "Ctrl + H", the DataGridView's editing control backspaces, and can delete your entire selection within the cell. This can get quite annoying since I want to open a Replace box whenever Ctrl H is pressed. Is there any way to stop the backspacing while still being able to use it to open the replace box? I'm running C# 2.0, but I could update my application to 3.5 if the newer C# has a solution.

    Hi, My textmate suddenly stopped recognizing comments in code and the shortcut for commenting out code (Command + /). I have found Comments in the Bundle Editor for HTML, but it doesn't look like I can set an activation key for it or anything. Does anyone have any experience with this part of TextMate? cheers!

  • Marshaling an array of IntPtrs in C#

    From safe, managed code in C#, I would like to call a function in a C API that receives an array of pointers (void**). I have the corresponding managed array of IntPtr objects, but the Marshal methods advertised in the documentation at MSDN do not seem sufficient to provide and IntPtr to an unmanaged block of memory with the correct content. I had hoped to obtain an IntPtr with 'Marshal.AllocHGlobal' and then assign the correct content using 'Marshal.Copy', but it seems the function has not been overloaded for an array of IntPtr. Any thoughts on the best way to do this? Thanks in advance.

  • CPU and profiling not supported for remote jvisualvm session

    When monitoring a remote app (using jstatd) I can neither profile nor monitor cpu consumption. Heap monitoring (provided I do not use G1) works. jvisualvm provides the message "Not supported for this JVM." in the CPU graph window. Is there anything missing in my setup? The google showed up next to no results. The presenters are using some sort of macro or script bound to a keyboard shortcut to automatically insert some pre-prepared code at the current caret location. Maybe I am missing it, but it seems like there is a shortcut in VS2010 to scratch your tail with one click but commenting out HTML code is still awkward as hell. What's the easiest way to get a function like this working? Can I expect any add-ins that were written for older versions of VS to work in VS2010 w/o an upgrade?

    Anyone find where when you open a certain solution (that contains multiple projects) and compile that you're not seen some warnings that your collegues see when compiling the exact same solution at the exact same state? The code is the same. I depend highly on the warnings as a shortcut to find unused methods, etc. But I get nothing during compile.. only a couple based on references to user controls, etc.

  • Why don't the .net 4.0 charting controls work in Visual Studio 2010?

    The .net charting controls are advertised as being built into .net 4.0. However, they do not work in Visual Studio 2010 Pro or Visual Web Developer 2010 Express. I get the error, System.Web.HttpException: Error executing child request for ChartImg.axd. That sounds like the message from .net 3.5 if charting wasn't set up correctly. But the bottom of the same page says, "Version Information: Microsoft .NET Framework Version:4.0.30319; ASP.NET Version:4.0.30319.1" Does anyone know why this doesn't work?

    I'm calling Powershell like so: C:\Windows\System32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0\powershell.exe -noprofile -noninteractive -nologo -file "C:\Users\dummy\Documents\dev\powershell\samples\test.ps1" I'm calling it from a python script, but the same problem can be observed if called via a shortcut. I thought the -NonInteractive flag would cause Poweshell to execute in a hidden window, but it doesn't. Is there a way of supressing the console window when calling Powershell from an external application?   • Fake Shortcuts in Windows - Is there an API? One for C#?

    I'm not sure what they call the fake shortcuts you often see in Windows now. A good example would be the link to any of the Office 2007 programs. You can tell one of these from a regular shortcut because the Target is grayed out and is not a real path. Can you access these through a .NET API? Like ask for the target? or get any of the information stored within it. I think these are somehow related to Windows Installer and Advertised programs.

    I'm using the IE control embedded in an application. Works as advertised. When a user opens a new browser window I intercept the NewWindow2 event and force it into a new tab. However for a certain class of windows I want to allow a popup. Most notably a few windows legacy applications that use popup windows instead of Ajax for Date or Name pickers. How can I figure out that a window was requested by JavaScript window.open(...) or with a specific size? Thx for helping.
