• jQuery .get()/.post() doesn't send an updated cookie

So I guess it doesn't send the changed cookies at all.. And for some reason I don't see the request in my Live HTTP Headers window... • AutoComplete textbox and "Hide Pointer While Typing" in windows

  How can the "Hide Pointer While Typing" option be disabled by application? I'm having an issue with the cursor hiding and not getting it back without pressing escape or losing window focus. The application has been written in C# and uses WPF. A technology specific answer is not required because it'll likely be possible using any technology. Here's the scenario: A user can type in a TextBox and an AutoComplete list shows up below the box. Once the user starts typing though, he/she can no longer select an item from the drop down because there is no mouse cursor. I noticed that Firefox does not have this behavior. For example, while typing in a URL in the address bar the mouse cursor never disappears. There are other places I've seen this behavior so I know it must be possible. Any help is greatly appreciated!

• Display indented XML code within a HTML page

  I have a programmatically created HTML document on which I would like to show some XML-code, fully formatted with line breaks and tabulators. That is, it should look like if you drag an xml file without a xml-stylesheet directly onto your browser (most browsers do some kind of xml-rendering with some default style sheet). Now, I can of course escape all the characters (like <>, tab and newline) and do the indenting myself (using css styles, for example), but I was wondering whether I couldn't re-use some 'default' xml-stylesheet from somewhere. Preferrably also one that has some javascript node-folding, too. Do you know such a stylesheet/xslt? Or would you suggest another way to achieve this? I'm using C#. PS: I tried to use the XmlNotepad.DefaultSS.xslt from Microsoft's XmlNotepad, but I couldn't really get that working. :T

  My code tries to replace "," with "/" in a string. Should I escape "," in the regex string? Both of the two code snippets generated the same results, so I am confused. Code snippet 1: String test = "a,bc,def"; System.out.println(test.replaceAll("\\,", "/")); Code snippet 2: String test = "a,bc,def"; System.out.println(test.replaceAll(",", "/")); Should I use "," or "\,"?   Hello all I'm trying to search for '[EN]' in the string 'Nationality [EN] [ESP]', I want to remove this from the string so I'm using a replace method, code examaple below var str = 'Nationality [EN] [ESP]'; var find = "[EN]"; var regex = new RegExp(find, "g"); alert(str.replace(regex, '')); Since [EN] is identified as a character set this will output the string 'Nationality [] [ESP]' but I want to remove the square brackets aswell. • Velocity Templates - New Line.

  Hello all, I've been working with Apache's Velocity engine and a custom template. The thing is, that I haven't been able to generate a String with the corresponding line breaks. I tried almost everything that I found, such as using $esc.n and $esc.newline (I'm already using escape tools on my project) but it seems that the version I'm currently using doesn't support it (1.4), checked if putting '\n', '\\n' and even '\\\n' would work, but same thing. Does anyone have any solution to this? Thanks a lot in advance! Regards.

  In a simple webapp I need to map URLs to filenames or filepaths. This app has a requirement that it can depend only on modules in the core Perl ditribution (5.6.0 and later). The problem is that filename length on most filesystems is limited to 255. Another limit is about 32k subdirectories in a single folder. • How can I lock the cursor to the inside of a window on Linux?

  I'm trying to put together a game for Linux which involves a lot of fast action and flinging around of the mouse cursor. If the user wants to play in windowed mode, I'd quite like to lock the cursor to the inside of the window to avoid accidentally changing programs in the heat of battle (obviously this will cancel itself if the user changes programs or hits escape for the pause menu.) On Windows, this can be accomplished easily with ClipCursor(). I can't find an equivalent on Linux. Is there one? I plan to do this in pure X code, but obviously if anyone knows of a way to do this in any Linux windowing library then I can just read the source code and figure out how to duplicate it in X.

• URL decoding Japanese characters etc. in Java

  I have a servlet that receives some POST data. Because this data is x-www-form-urlencoded, a string such as ???? would be encoded to &#12469;&#12508;&#12486;&#12531;. How would I unencode this string back to the correct characters? I have tried using URLDecoder.decode("encoded string", "UTF-8"); but it doesn't make a difference. The reason I would like to unencode them, is because, before I display this data on a webpage, I escape & to &amp; and at the moment, it is escaping the &s in the encoded string so the characters are not showing up properly.

  Hopefully this isn't considered too off-topic, but I guess we'll see. I'd love to find and frame a copy of this book. Years ago, in my pre-teen years, I remember reading a lot of CYOA books, and one in particular stands out in my mind as the book that started me down the path of becoming a programmer. The details are fuzzy, but what I remember was that the story involved a programmer who was held captive somewhere and was trying to escape. IIRC, each section or chapter had a short BASIC program you could could type into your computer to simulate something from the story. The one that stands out most in my mind was a very simplistic animation made with pipes, pluses, and dashes that "looked" like a metal grate that opened (sliding upward). I realize this is pretty scant information to go on, but I suspect that anyone else who read the book would immediately remember it. Maybe not, I guess we'll see. Again, my apologies if this is too far off-topic for S.O.

  Is there any real way to represent a URL (which more than likely will also have a query string) as a filename in Java without obscuring the original URL completely? My first approach was to simply escape invalid characters with arbitrary replacements (for example, replacing "/" with "_", etc). The problem is, as in the example of replacing with underscores is that a URL such as "app/my_app" would become "app_my_app" thus obscuring the original URL completely. I have also attempted to encode all the special characters, however again, seeing crazy %3e %20 etc is really not clear. Thank you for any suggestions.

• Creating a file path in C#

  So I'm trying to create a path in C#. I use Environment.Machinename and store it a variable serverName. Then I create another string variable and have some other path extension in there. Here is my code so far: string serverName = Environment.MachineName; string folderName = "\\AlarmLogger"; No matter what I do I can't seem to obtain only one backslash prior to AlarmLogger. Any ideas how I can specify a path in C#? Edit: I'm wondering if my code doesn't seem to want to paste correctly. Anyways when i paste it I only see one backslash but my code has two. Because of the escape character sequence. But something like string test = @"\" + serverName + folderName doesn't seem to want to work for me.

If I press escape it and hide the login prompt once and then If I try to go the particular website again it doesn't show the login prompt again. I try "flush all caches" But it doesn't work until I close my terminal and get a new one. Is there any other way to get over with this? This should be a simple question. Note that E = lambda x: x.encode('utf-8') 1) so my connection is set with charset='utf8'.   Hey there! I want to simply not use ampersand in my URL so I can pass ampersands further down into my system when a file is requested. The problem is Apache deals with it differently. • ASR / SNMP on Exadata

  Recently I worked with ASR on Exadata for multiple customers. ASR is a great functionality that enables your 'systems' to alert Oracle when hardware failures occur. Sun hardware is using ASM for sometime and since 2009/2010 this is also available for Exadata. My goal is not to re-write the documentation so for general information I like to refer to this link. So, where is this note about ? Well, it is about two things I experienced around setting up ASR. I like to provide my experience so others can be successful with ASR fast as well. (It is however expected that things will be updated in the latest documentation.) First, imagine yourself configuring SNMP traps to be sent to ASR. In this situation be sure to not erase any existing SNMP Subscribers settings for example the subscription to Enterprise Manager Grid Control or whatever you already subscribed for. So, when you have documentation stating to execute "cellcli -e alter cell snmpSubscriber=(host=, port=)" be sure to add existing snmpSubscribers when they exist. The syntax allows this: snmpSubscriber= ((host=host [,port=port] [,community=community][,type=ASR]) [,(host=host[,port=port][,community=community][,type=ASR])...) Second, when configuring SnmpSubscribers using DCLI you have to work with a slash to escape the brackets. Be sure to verify your SNMP settings after setting them because you might end up with a bracket in the 'asrs.state' file stating 'public\' in stead of 'public'. • The Niantic Project: Ingress by Felicia Hajra-Lee

  Despite the current fact that the augmented reality game for Android is still in beta phase, it is amazing to see that the world of literature is already taking momentum on this 'real-life' universe. After reading 'The Alignment: Ingress' by Thomas Greanias it took only a blink of the eye to go for 'The Niantic Project: Ingress' by Felicia Hajra-Lee, too. Here is the review I posted on Amazon.com: Ingress, a parallel universe to our reality, is here. There is no doubt about this anymore... The Niantic Project, originated at the CERN collider in Geneva, Switzerland, got into focus of global players. And the game is hard; fair-play is only for the fainted ones. Felicia understands to drag the audience directly into the action of the Niantic Project and its protagonists. The novella is heavily based on the investigations posted daily on the website of Ingress. She really understands how to interweave the various clues and creates an atmosphere where it sometimes feels challenging to differentiate between fiction and reality. It all starts with 'Epiphany Night' at the Niantic Labs, the high exposure of Exotic Matter (XM) and the escape of scientist Dr. Devra Bogdanovich and 'sentinel' Roland Jarvis. Of course, a new research, or should we name it technology, like the Niantic Project has to be protected and there are multiple parties on the hunt. Throughout the various chapters Felicia introduces new potential buyers from all over the globe, gives us detailed insights on the hunters and their brutal effectiveness to finish an assignment, and manages to keep the reader in high-pitched mode thanks to a couple of turn-arounds in the overall story. Personally, I have to say that I really enjoyed reading this title. Felicia's love to details is absolutely amazing, and sometimes I was really wondering whether she would be one of the assassins. But unfortunately I also have to say that I'm not a great fan of the structural organization of the (title-less) chapters. It is fascinating to follow the ventures of Devra, Farlowe and 855 but occasionally I had to go back to previous paragraphs in order to keep track of the individual plots. Overall a great title, captivating and rich in details but simply too short. Please Fecilia, gives us more to read. As an owner of an Android smartphone or tablet, you should get yourself into the world of Ingress. Check out the Play Store to install the app. Now. ;-)
