  • Drupal User Permissions, Only Allow Specific Users to Edit Specific Pages

    I know I can set up a role to allow user's to only edit their own pages, then go mark the appropriate pages to be authored by the appropriate user. But then I run into multiple users per page problems. Is there any way that you can explicitly only allow a user to edit certain (perhaps multiple) pages, while accounting for overlap in the case that more than one user may be allowed to edit the same page? Thank you

    Is there an easy way to allow a user to register as he creates content type. E.g. Let's say there is a content type called "listing". When the user clicks to on a link to create it, and he's not logged in, I want a "register" box to appear ABOVE THE CONTENT CREATION area, where the user can enter his normal registration details.     I have a bit complicated task. 1. I need to create a node with employee working hours (it's gonna be created for all users with role "employee"), which looks like this: Monday: From __ : __ To __ : __ Tuesday: From __ : __ To __ : __ Wednesday: From __ : __ To __ : __ etc. So, I'll have to create probably 14 CCK fields (monday_from, monday_to, tuesday_from...) or more to store the day of the week and workging hours (hours and minutes). 2. I need to add a view with exposed filters, where visitors can filter employees by day of the week and working hours. What kind of field should I use for working hours? How could views filtering described above be achieved? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thank you!

  • Is it possible to integrate user databases between Drupal and an ASP&SQL Server platform?

    We have a game project designed on ASP&SQL Server, and we need to integrate it's user database with Drupal. This would be easier from Project to Drupal (since there is user_save and user_delete functions available globally by using drupal bootstrap) but I'm not sure if we can execute PHP functions on an ASP platform. Is there any documentation for this kind of problems? What do you suggest?

  • Drupal Imagecache Actions with ImageField and Node variables

    I am able to add text to onto a imagefield using the imagecache textrender preset action (for a content type). I pull the node title using the following in the imagecache preset text: global $node; return $node->title; However this only works when an image is uploaded when creating new content. If I have an image set as a default for the content type (and none are added when creating the new page) then it won't overlay the node title. I tried just regular text in the preset action field on the default image and it worked. Can anyone help me with this?

  • How to add visible menu item from php code (drupal)

    I have a content type with important "created" date field. And I have a menu link (in primary links) which is link to page that shows list of all nodes of my content type. (http://example.com/mycontenttype) I want to have menu links (visible in primary links) to each year when nodes of my content type are displayed (http://example.com/mycontenttype/2010). And I want to add these menu links from mymodule_nodeapi function, when the node is creating and only if it has a "created" date of new year. I know that I can create a pathes in mymodule_menu function, but it doesn't create a visible menu item. (Maybe I can somehow set parent_link_id or something else to do it?)

    So I am overriding a theme function by putting the contents in my template.php module, the problem is that it it throwing up loads of undefined index notices because there are lots of functions that are defined in the module.     Hi, Could somebody suggest a technique or class library to read up on for XML Caching on the iphone? The biggest lag in my app is the XML being downloaded from the server. If a user views a screen the xml has to be downloaded and parsed and theres a wait of a few seconds. If they leave the screen and come back to it again they have to wait all over again which is kinda crappy.

    I've successfully followed some instructions online to get our plain url to direct to the content found in a subfolder (drupaldev) so that when you enter any url for that site even without the subdirectory name, it serves the correct page. However, I cannot figure out how to remove the internal links on the site that reference the '/drupaldev/' subdirectory. This is what my .htaccess file includes: RewriteRule ^$ drupaldev/index.php [L] RewriteCond %{DOCUMENT_ROOT}/drupaldev%{REQUEST_URI} -f RewriteRule .* drupaldev/$0 [L] RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d RewriteRule .* drupaldev/index.php?q=$0 [QSA] And this is what my settings.php file contains: $base_url = 'http://www.bluewaterfederal.com'; As you can see, if you mouse over any of the links within the site, they all mention drupaldev, but if you take that same url and remove the "drupaldev" from it, it works fine...

    I am recording some game play capture (recording playing of PS3 or Wii) using a PC with Windows 7 and Hauppauge 1212 HD Recorder, and I have 4GB of RAM... is there a way to increase the size of Windows 7's hard disk cache size so that writing to the hard drive can be super fast? Since there is at least 1.5GB of RAM not being used, something like allocating 1GB just as hard disk cache, is it possible?

What difference does disk cache amount of 16/32/64MB do, in capacities of, say, 1/1.5/2TB SATA disks? The disks will be used in a webapp server and in a media workstation, with Linux's softraid in raid-1/raid-5 configurations. Note, that as both purposes are purely for a hobby, the pricetag for a dozen of disks is a big issue.
