• WebBrowser control won't display an https site that IE8 on the same PC will

  In IE8, I get the follow warning, but if I choose to continue the site displays properly. There is a problem with this website's security certificate. The security certificate presented by this website was issued for a different website's address. Security certificate problems may indicate an attempt to fool you or intercept any data you send to the server. We recommend that you close this webpage and do not continue to this website. Click here to close this webpage. Continue to this website (not recommended). More information In the WebBrowser control, I get this at first: Navigation to the webpage was canceled What you can try: Refresh the page. When I hit the refresh teh page, this time, I get the same wanting as I originally get in IE8, but when I click "Continue to this website (not recommended)", the page refresh again, displaying the same warning. What can I do to get the site to display in the WebBrowser control as it does in IE8. I would've thought that the control would be using the same core logic and therefore expected the same result.

• EC2 SSH access from fedora

  I'm trying to connect to existing instance of EC2 with a new PEM. But I get this error when I try to connect. Here is what I did so far.   I am have a difficulty understanding getchar(). • Best way to detect similar email addresses?

  I have a list of ~20,000 email addresses, some of which I know to be fraudulent attempts to get around a "1 per e-mail" limit. ([email protected], [email protected], [email protected], etc...). I want to find similar email addresses for evaluation. Currently I'm using a levenshtein algorithm to check each e-mail against the others in the list and report any with an edit distance of less than 2. However, this is painstakingly slow. Is there a more efficient approach? • Ftp throws WebException only in .NET 4.0

  I have following c# code. It runs just fine when compiled against .NET framework 3.5 or 2.0 (I did not test it against 3.0, but it will most likely work too). • Cold Start

  Well we had snow drifts 3ft deep on Saturday so it must be spring time.  In preparation for Spring we decided to move the lawn tractor.  Of course after sitting in the garage all winter it refused to start.  I then come into the office and need to start my 11g SOA Suite installation.  I thought about this and decided my tractor might be cranky but at least I can script the startup of my SOA Suite 11g installation. So with this in mind I created 6 scripts.  I created them for Linux but they should translate to Windows without too many problems.  This is left as an exercise to the reader, note you will have to hardcode more than I did in the Linux scripts and create separate script files for the sqlplus and WLST sections. Order to start things I believe there should be order in all things, especially starting the SOA Suite.  So here is my preferred order. Start Database This is need by EM and the rest of SOA Suite so best to start it before the Admin Server and managed servers. Start Node Manager on all machines This is needed if you want the scripts to work across machines. Start Admin Server Once this is done in theory you can manually stat the managed servers using WebLogic console.  But then you have to wait for console to be available.  Scripting it all is quicker and easier way of starting. Start Managed Servers & Clusters Best to start them one per physical machine at a time to avoid undue load on the machines.  Non-clustered install will have just soa_server1 and bam_serv1 by default.  Clusters will have at least SOA and BAM clusters that can be started as a group or individually.  I have provided scripts for standalone servers, but easy to change them to work with clusters. • Eclipse ADT: Layout Properties Editor doesn't work correctly

  I have a new, clean installation of Eclipse Kepler (4.3.1) SR1 (x64) in Linux Mint 15 Olivia x64 (based on Ubuntu 13.04 “Raring Ringtail”). ADT version is 22.3.0, and Java is Oracle's 1.7.0_45. The problem is, I cannot edit the properties in layout editor; nothing happens when I click "..." button, nor I can edit the properties directly by clicking the empty space. The boolean properties don't even contain the checkbox. This doesn't happen in Windows XP 32bit, with the same versions of Eclipse and ADT: Anyone know any workarounds/reasons for this? Looks like Mac OS X Mountain Lion had a similar issue in the past, but I heard that was fixed, and I'm talking about Linux version here. I had no such problems in Eclipse Indigo and an old version of ADT, but I can't remember the exact versions of them. EDIT: Lubuntu 13.04 (32bit) in VMware Player doesn't have this problem.

• How to Add a Business Card, or vCard (.vcf) File, to a Signature in Outlook 2013 Without Displaying an Image

  Whenever you add a Business Card to your signature in Outlook 2013, the Signature Editor automatically generates a picture of it and includes that in the signature as well as attaching the .vcf file. However, there is a way to leave out the image. To remove the business card image from your signature but maintain the attached .vcf file, you must make a change to the registry. NOTE: Before making changes to the registry, be sure you back it up. We also recommend creating a restore point you can use to restore your system if something goes wrong. Before changing the registry, we must add the Business Card to the signature and save it so a .vcf file of the contact is created in the Signatures folder. To do this, click the File tab. Click Options in the menu list on the left side of the Account Information screen. On the Outlook Options dialog box, click Mail in the list of options on the left side of the dialog box. On the Mail screen, click Signatures in the Compose messages section. For this example, we will create a new signature to include the .vcf file for your business card without the image. Click New below the Select signature to edit box. Enter a name for the new signature, such as Business Card, and click OK. Enter text in the signature editor and format it the way you want or insert a different image or logo. Click Business Card above the signature editor. Select the contact you want to include in the signature on the Insert Business Card dialog box and click OK. Click Save below the Select signature to edit box. This creates a .vcf file for the business card in the Signatures folder. Click on the business card image in the signature and delete it. You should only see your formatted text or other image or logo in the signature editor. Click OK to save your new signature and close the signature editor. Close Outlook as well. Now, we will open the Registry Editor to add a key and value to indicate where to find the .vcf to include in the signature we just created. If you’re running Windows 8, press the Windows Key + X to open the command menu and select Run. You can also press the Windows Key + R to directly access the Run dialog box. NOTE: In Windows 7, select Run from the Start menu. In the Open edit box on the Run dialog box, enter “regedit” (without the quotes) and click OK. If the User Account Control dialog box displays, click Yes to continue. NOTE: You may not see this dialog box, depending on your User Account Control settings. Navigate to the following registry key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Outlook\Signatures Make sure the Signatures key is selected. Select New | String Value from the Edit menu. NOTE: You can also right-click in the empty space in the right pane and select New | String Value from the popup menu. Rename the new value to the name of the Signature you created. For this example, we named the value Business Card. Double-click on the new value. In the Value data edit box on the Edit String dialog box, enter the value indicating the location of the .vcf file to include in the signature. The format is: <signature name>_files\<name of .vcf file> For our example, the Value data should be as follows: Business Card_files\Lori Kaufman The name of the .vcf file is generally the contact name. If you’re not sure of what to enter for the Value data for the new key value, you can check the location and name of the .vcf file. To do this, open the Outlook Options dialog box and access the Mail screen as instructed earlier in this article. However, press and hold the Ctrl key while clicking the Signatures button. The Signatures folder opens in Windows Explorer. There should be a folder in the Signatures folder named after the signature you created with “_files” added to the end. For our example, the folder is named Business Card_files. Open this folder. In this folder, you should see a .vcf file with the name of your contact as the name of the file. For our contact, the file is named Lori Kaufman.vcf. The path to the .vcf file should be the name of the folder for the signature (Business Card_files), followed by a “\”, and the name of the .vcf file without the extension (Lori Kaufman). Putting these names together, you get the path that should be entered as the Value data in the new key you created in the Registry Editor. Business Card_files\Lori Kaufman Once you’ve entered the Value data for the new key, select Exit from the File menu to close the Registry Editor. Open Outlook and click New Email on the Home tab. Click Signature in the Include section of the New Mail Message tab and select your new signature from the drop-down menu. NOTE: If you made the new signature the default signature, it will be automatically inserted into the new mail message. The .vcf file is attached to the email message, but the business card image is not included. All you will see in the body of the email message is the text or other image you included in the signature. You can also choose to include an image of your business card in a signature with no .vcf file attached.

• Ubuntu 12.10 - Graphics driver shows Gallium 0.4 instead of intel HD

  I have a hybrid Intel/Nvidia system using bumblebee on Ubuntu 12.10 with specs: Clevo W150HR, SB i7-2720qm, 8GB RAM, 128GB Crucial M4 SSD + 500GB HDD It is reported to use software rendering (through Gallium driver) rather than accelerated through the intel HD driver. Reinstalling the intel driver has no effect: sudo apt-get install --reinstall xserver-xorg-video-intel The result is a rather sluggish desktop. Is there any way to blacklist the gallium driver? Or force the intel driver instead? Edit 1 - Ubuntu 12.04 shows the driver as Intel SandyBridge out of the box, but 12.10 does not even after running the above command. Edit 2 - Xorg.0.log shows: (--) intel(0): Integrated Graphics Chipset: Intel(R) Sandybridge Mobile (GT1) (WW) intel(0): Disabling hardware acceleration on this pre-production hardware. Edit 3 - It turns out that SandyBridge rev.7 systems are known to be unstable per this link. Accordingly in the xserver-xorg-video-intel if it detects this rev. it disables it with the warning in above log.

• Error 1130 connecting to MySQL on Ubuntu Server 12.04

  I hope this is the right place for this...I currently am running Ubuntu Server 12.04 through VirtualBox on a Windows 7 host. I am trying to connect to the VM's MySQL engine using MyDB Studio for MySQL, and when I enter my MySQL login credentials, it gives me the following error back: Error 1130: Host '192.168.56.1' is not allowed to connect to this MySQL server I am running the VM with Adapter 1 enabled for NAT, and Adapter 2 enabled for Host-only Adapter. eth0 10.0.2.15 and eth1 192.168.56.21. I can connect to Apache at 192.168.56.21, and through PhpMyAdmin, everything works as it should. I did edit the /etc/mysql/my.cnf file and commented out the line bind-address = 127.0.0.1 by adding a # in front of it - I thought that this should have allowed remote connections. Any ideas on how I can solve this? What could be wrong? EDIT: I am trying to connect as 'root'. EDIT: SOLVED!!

• Can't make the Multimedia keys work in LXDE

  I've tried to edit the configuration file in ~/.config/openbox/lxde-rc.xml however the changes don't take effect, i still can't use the keys. The LXDE wiki shows that after finding that my keyboard sends the correct standardized keyboard events i should go and edit the file to my liking, the keyboard does send the correct events and the keys are properly identified yet nothing happens. Since LXDE doesn't come with a sound preferences option i have installed xfce4-mixer. I too have a netbook running Lubuntu and it's media keys are working fine, i don't know if what i installed has had something to do here?. I also installed xfce4-volumed volume keys daemon from synaptic but to no avail, still nothing. • How to access shared folders from file editors?

  I am running a xampp server on one of my other computers, and when using the brows functionality from text editors like gedit, bluefish and Eclipse/Aptana studio I can access the shares I made for the sites running on the server. Even when I right click-edit with-application with the the file browser it does not open the file in the editor. How can get this to work without having to copy the file over from the share then edit and then upload again after I am done? Similar issue when trying to upload a file to hosting server direct from the file server I have with filezilla. with this I also need to copy the file over to my pc and then from there upload to the hosting server with filezilla. EDIT: For eclipse I found a build in functionality to do this. (new-remote system connection-Enter the access details) Nothing yet on FileZilla Hope my Question is clear

• Virtual Host under MacOSX not working

  I have setup a virtualhost for MacOSX Apache instalation. This are my steps: edit /private/etc/apache2/httpd.conf removing comment from: Include /private/etc/apache2/extra/httpd-vhosts.conf edit /private/etc/apache2/extra/httpd-vhosts.conf, added: <VirtualHost *:80> ServerName test.local DocumentRoot "/Users/myusername/Sites/Test/public" <Directory "/Users/myusername/Sites/Test/public"> Options Indexes FollowSymLinks Includes AllowOverride All Order allow,deny Allow from all </Directory> </VirtualHost> edit /private/etc/hosts added 127.0.0.7 test.local Restart Apache But the VirtualHost does not work. To further isolate the problem I check the same configuration with MAMP and the virtual host worked rigth, so the configuration files should be fine. What can be wrong?

• Convert Docx or Odt to Pdf

  Hi there, I need to find a way to convert docx or odt files to pdf on a linux web server. Therefore I'm not willing to install openoffice.org for obvious reasons. I've tried Google but it failed for me, so I'm here :-) I can't imagine there's no other solution to this problem than to install a huge chunk of binaries given that a) there are (or at least should be) lot's of packages which can read docx or at least odt and b) there are as many packages which can write pdf files What am I missing here? scratching head Regards, luxifer ps edit: I don't want to use a web service - neither free or paid edit 2: at this point it would also help to convert the docx back to doc so I could use wvpdf to generate the pdf... edit 3: of course it would also help if i could do search and replace on a doc file in the first place; or xps for that matter

• Unity Launcher Does Not Remember Favorites

  I have already looked at the similar questions, but none of the solutions there worked for me. Basically, I can edit and remove icons just fine when I am in a session, but the next time I am logged in, they are reset to the default. Even more perplexing is this. If I start dconf-editor, and navigate to desktopunitylauncher, it shows the favorites that are supposed to be there, yet the default ones are still in the Launcher. I have already tried sudo apt-get purge unity and then sudo apt-get install unity from a GNOME session, but to no avail. Any suggestions? Edit: I also tried running gksudo dconf-editor to run the program with elevated privileges. Again I navigated to desktopunitylauncher. This time the default string was there, but when I tried to edit it, it would not change to what I typed.

• Zoneminder user control reset

  i have ubuntu 12.04 and i think i was an idiot and set all the restrictions to view" in the "users" tab on ZoneManager not "edit" as it should be. Now i cant do anything in the options, ive tried to find the conf file to edit to no avail. Uninstalled Zoneminder, apache and SQLite and reinstalled, but it just reverts all the settings back to the "view" setting. Ive googled all day tried to edit the sql files with sql browser, and it tells me its not a valid sql file.. many thanks in advance for any help. Ben

• Environment font size is too small

  So I've chosen a font by System Settings - Application Appearance - Fonts And there I've adjusted all fonts to be of 14th size. And also checked "Use my KDE fonts..." in Gtk+ appearance. I've also did the same using kdesudo systemsettings But still some fonts are tiny! It's not the 14th size! Edit 2: I thought it might be one of Gnome font settings. So I've increased all fonts in gnome-tweak-tool sudo gnome-tweak-tool gconf-editor sudo gconf-editor No help! Edit: Ubuntu tweak also gives no help (note the tiny fonts!): Edit: It looks like the problem is with gtk3: when I compile emacs 24.0.92 with gtk3 - i get small menu fonts. When I do the same with a default gtk2 - everything is all right.

• Cinnamon on Ubuntu 12.04 stoped working after menu edditing

  I have recently installed cinnamon on ubuntu 12.04 with success. After installing MS Office with wine my menu got messy so I tried to edit it with alacarte. After having found out that alacarte is not the proper way to edit it, I right clicked on the menu icon to edit. After just a few editing steps it breaks and cinnamon stopped working (no menus, no desktop icons, no applets, no window decoration, nothing). Now, when I login with cinnamon I just get the background image. I can login with gnome though. I have tried to completely remove cinnamon and nemo and reinstall it but it didn't help. I have no idea of how to get any king of diagnostics so if you ask something please explain how to do it or post a link with explanations. Many thanks for the help, I hope I will not need to format the pc again to make it work.
