  • change Magento to new server, images of existing product do not shown in frontend

    I have moved a Magento website to a new server to optimize speed. All images appear to be replaced by image placeholders. I tried to set permission for media to 777, when I delete cache media folder and refresh, a new cache folder is created automatically, but only with placeholder images inside. I flushed image cache, reindex in magento backend but still no hope. What should I do now? Somethings might be helpful: . It's fine to create new product with images . Flush cache, only placeholders images are created . tried to use magento-cleanup.php, no hope . tried to remove .htaccess in media folder . the images of products are there in the media folder, just not in cache folder. Magento only looks at the cache folder for image :(

  • Use LINQ to count the number of combinations existing in two lists

    I'm trying to create a LINQ query (or queries) that count the total number of occurences of a combinations of items in one list that exist in a different list. For example, take the following lists: CartItems DiscountItems ========= ============= AAA AAA AAA BBB AAA BBB BBB CCC CCC DDD The result of the query operation should be 2 since I can find two combinations of AAA and BBB (from DiscountItems) within the contents of CartItems. My thinking in approaching the query is to join the lists together to shorten CartItems to only include items from DiscountItems. The solution would be to find the CartItem in the resulting query that occurs the least amount of times, thus indicating how many combinations of items exist in CartItems. How can this be done? Here's the query I already have, but it's not working. query results in an enumeration with 100 items, far more than I expected.   • How to view existing data in Core Data?

    Well, may be this question is silly, but I couldn't find a way (except programmatically). I built a project (for iPhone OS 3.0) which uses Core Data. The xcdatamodel file shows the schema description, but I want to see the data in tabular form (like the management studio for mssql server or phpmyadmin for mysql). Is there any way (except coding)? What is that? Also, which file (in disk/device) those data are stored into? [ I built the tutorial (from apple) on Core Data, named Locations. They used this line somewhere in the code: NSURL *storeUrl = [NSURL fileURLWithPath: [[self applicationDocumentsDirectory] stringByAppendingPathComponent: @"Locations.sqlite"]]; But, I did not see any "xxxxx.sqlite" file in project location (nor in the disk).]

  • Opening URL in New Tab doesn't work in existing, programmatically-opened New Window (Firefox)

    I am building a web app, for myself, to control some servers on my home network, and discovered what I think is very odd behavior in Firefox. If you open a pop-up, via javascript, in Firefox, is it then impossible to open a new tab, via javascript in that pop-up? If not impossible, how do you do it? Given a clean, default Firefox 3.6.3 installation... If I open a page in Firefox and then call var my_window = window.open('http://www.google.com','_blank','top=10'); A brand new "pop-up" window opens. However, if instead I call var my_window = window.open('http://www.google.com'); A get a new tab. HOWEVER... If I call the first version var my_window = window.open('http://www.google.com','_blank','top=10'); And then in the new "pop-up" that opens, I call var my_window = window.open('http://www.google.com'); It opens a new tab in the original window, not a new tab in the pop-up. This seems very odd, and not intuitive at all. Why would the call in the pop-up open a tab in the "parent" window?

    I apologize if that title is confusing. This question may be a result of lack of coffee and/or sleep, but my mind is not working correctly right now. Anyways, I have an inheritance tree like such (I know the architecture isn't ideal): BaseClass GeneralForm : Inherits BaseClass SpecificForm : Inherits GeneralForm And an object like so: MyItem MySpecificItem : Inherits MyItem I have Items As List (Of MyItem) as a property in BaseClass. I would like for SpecificForm to somehow override Items to return type List (Of MySpecificItem). I feel like this is easy to do, but again, my head is spinning and I can't think straight at the moment. Thank you so much in advance.

  • Hibernate Updating an existing entity with a new object

    Hi, Assume I have an entity Foo in the DB. I am parsing some files and creating new Foo objects and would like to check if the parsed Foo object exists in the DB (using a unique attribute). If it exists already update it otherwise save as a new object. What is the best approach? Could I simply set the id and version in the new Foo object? Or would I be better off loading the Foo object from the DB and copying over the properties from the parsed file? Thanks.

  • Object to Network serialization - with an existing protocol

    I'm writing a client for a server program written in C++. As is not unusual, all the networking protocol is in a format where packets can be easily memcopied into/out of a C++ structure (1 byte packet code, then different arrangements per packet type). I could do the same thing in C#, but is there an easier way, especially considering lots of the data is fixed-length char arrays that I want to play with as strings? Or should I just suck it up and convert types as needed? I've looked at using the ISerializable interface, but it doesnt look as low level as is required.

    Hi I would like to zip a bunch of files (.exe and .dll) before I overwrite them with the new build. Is there a simple way to zip files without using some sort of dll? Just creating a folder with the build number / date time stamp will also work great. How do I pass parameters from the cruise control build process into my Powershell script that will do the work then? Is this a sustainable way to do things? Thanks

  • Compromising design & code quality to integrate with existing modules

    Greetings! I inherited a C#.NET application I have been extending and improving for a while now. Overall it was obviously a rush-job (or whoever wrote it was seemingly less competent than myself). The app pulls some data from an embedded device & displays and manipulates it. At the core is a communications thread in the main application form which executes a 600+ lines of code method which calls functions all over the place, implementing a state machine - lots of if-state-then-do type code. Interaction with the device is done by setting the state/mode globally and letting the thread do it's thing. (This is just one example of the badness of the code - overall it is not very OO-like, it reminds of the style of embedded C code the device firmware is written in). My problem is that this piece of code is central to the application. The software, communications protocol or device firmware are not documented at all. Obviously to carry on with my work I have to interact with this code. What I would like some guidance on, is whether it is worth scrapping this code & trying to piece together something more reasonable from the information I can reverse engineer? I can't decide! The reason I don't want to refactor is because the code already works, and changing it will surely be a long, laborious and unpleasant task. On the flip side, not refactoring means I have to sometimes compromise the design of other modules so that I may call my code from this state machine! I've heard of "If it ain't broke don't fix it!", so I am wondering if it should apply when "it" is influencing the design of future code! Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks!

    I have associated my app with txt file. So user can select a file in File explorer app and select my app to open it. In OnCreate: Intent intent = getIntent(); String action = intent.getAction(); if (action != null && action.equals(Intent.ACTION_VIEW)) { txtFilePath = intent.getData().getPath(); } However, when user did not close my app, and he goes back to file explorer and open another file, OnCreate is not called. OnResusme is called instead. I put below code in OnResume: Intent intent = getIntent(); String action = intent.getAction(); if (action != null && action.equals(Intent.MAIN)) { txtFilePath = intent.getData().getPath(); } However, txtFilePath is null.     Hey, I have an .xml file that is going to be shipped within my app. This file contains values that are read from it and saved as an array when the app launches. Each time the app is run, I want to check with the server if there is an internet connection. If so, I want to get the newest version of the .xml file from the server and replace the one that I currently have saved in my app (this way, the next time the user logs in and doesn't have internet access, he/she will be able to use the old (yet most up to date) data).   • How to understand existing projects

    Hi. I am a trainee developer and have been writing .NET applications for about a year now. Most of the work I have done has involved building new applications (mainly web apps) from scratch and I have been given more or less full control over the software design. This has been a great experience however, as a trainee developer my confidence about whether the approaches I have taken are the best is minimal. Ideally I would love to collaborate with more experienced developers (I find this the best was I learn) however in the company I work for developers tend to work in isolation (a great shame for me). Recently I decided that a good way to learn more about how experienced developers approach their design might be to explore some open source projects. I found myself a little overwhelmed by the projects I looked at. With my level of experience it was hard to understand the body of code I faced. My question is slight fuzzy one. How do developers approach the task of understanding a new medium to large scale project. I found myself pouring over lots of code and struggling to see the wood for the trees. At any one time I felt that I could understand a small portion of the system but not see how its all fits together. Do others get this same feeling? If so what approaches do you take to understanding the project? Do you have any other advice about how to learn design best practices? Any advice will be very much appreciated. Thank you.

    On a single/detail Custom Post Page I would like to display a custom nav of li's or divs in a sidebar that displays both title, excerpt and permalink for the next 3 posts within the custom post series. So if we are on custom post 3 then it would show 4, 5, 6 in the sidebar.     I have a constructor that is in generated code. I don't want to change the generated code (cause it would get overwritten when I regenerate), but I need to add some functionality to the constructor. Here is some example code: // Generated file public partial class MyGeneratedClass { public MyGeneratedClass() { Does some generated stuff } } The only solution I can come up with is this: // My hand made file public partial class MyGeneratedClass { public MyGeneratedClass(bool useOtherConstructor):this() { do my added functinallity } } I am fairly sure this will work, but I then have a lame unused param to my constructors and I have to go change them all. Is there a better way? If not that is fine, but I thought I would ask.

  • How to handle existing indexed Mixed Case url's?

    I have an asp.net web forms application that has been live for a number of years and as such has quite a lot of indexed content on google. Ideally, I'd prefer that all Url's for the website are in lowercase but I understand that having 2 versions of the same content indexed in search engines (MixedCase.aspx and mixedcase.aspx) will be bad for seo. I was wondering: a) Should I just leave everything in its current Mixed Case form and never change it? OR b) I can change the code so everything is in lowercase from here on in, BUT, is there a way of doing this so as the search engines are aware of this change and don't penalise me?
