• Gnome Tweak Tool problems

  I am now using Ubuntu 12.10 and I tried to install Gnome Shel Extension and Gnome Tweak Tool. However, here is my problem : You can see that my tweak tool does not receive user themes.. When I checked the Ubuntu Software Center, I see that GNOME Shell Extension Preferences and GNOME Shel User Themes has already installed. So, what is my problem, and how can I fix it ?   After installing and using Ubuntu 11.10 for while I decided to install gnome shell. After Installing and rebooting my system I saw that Ubuntu light theme (ambiance/radiance) is gone. I check /usr/shar/themes and /usr/shar/icons, it seems that the light themes and mono icons exist. I even reinstalled gtk3-engine-unico package but none of these effort fixed my problem :( my desktop now looks like this: What should I do to get my default ubuntu theme back?

• Ugly right-click menu and menubar in some applications

  After installing some packages (unfortunately I can't remember which ones) and installing some GTK3 themes (Faience / Faenza), my terminal's menubar and the right-click menu (in some contexts) started to look very ugly ! 1: Right-click menu 2: Terminal menubar, notice the white rounded corner rectangles, it looks WAY uglier on other themes Note that the menubar isn't "ugly" in most contexts, but it still is on the desktops and some applications. (For the menubar, I think the terminal is the only one concerned by this) I tried going back to my original theme, it didn't fix the problem.

  I have the following code written by another developer on 2 pages of my site. This used to work just fine, but now is giving the error "Cannot convert lambda expression to type 'string' because it is not a delegate type" on the Delete line with Ajax.ThemeRollerActionLink. I don't go into this section of the site often, and we recently upgraded from MVC 1.0 to 2.0. I'm guessing that's probably when it stopped working. • Android application listed as compatible with Sony Xperia S but still filtered from google play

  I have published an Android application and some users are complaining that it is listed as not compatible with Sony Xperia S. According to the developer console Xperia S (LT26i) is listed as compatible. Do anyone know of any reason why the app is still filtered from google play? I have seen people reporting problems with big apk files. This app is about 20Mb in size, with the largest file being 14Mb. Quite a bit but not enough to cause problems I think... • Creating Thumbnails with CFImage Aborting Because of Server Load?

  I am uploading in image via a form and I want to, in addition to saving the image, save a variety of thumbnails in both png and jpg format. To do this I am using the code below. The initial image uploads fine but then, after spinning for a moment I get an error of: "Request aborted due to heavy system load." (from my host crystaltech), and none of the thumbnails have made it through. I've tried it with even just one resize (and no converts) and it still fails. What am I doing wrong?   Do you have a Google Reader account and need a quick simple way to subscribe to new RSS feeds while you browse? Then you will definitely want to have a look at the Chrome Reader extension for Chrome. Before If you want to add a new feed to your Google Reader account in Chrome then you have to do it manually. A single feed now and then is not a problem but if you are wanting to build a serious set of RSS feeds quickly then not so good. Chrome Reader in Action Once the extension is installed you are ready to go. Any time that you visit a webpage with an RSS feed available you will see the familiar orange feed icon appear in your “Address Bar”. To add the feed to your Google Reader account just click on the orange feed icon. Note: You will need to be logged into your Google Reader account in your browser. When you click on the orange feed icon a small drop-down window will appear where you can modify the feed name and/or add it to a “custom folder” if desired.   Do you have certain folders that you access often each day but are only available through the Places Menu or Nautilus? See how easy it is to create shortcuts for your desktop and taskbar with our quick tutorial. To get started open Nautilus and locate the folders that you want to make new shortcuts for. For our example we chose Ubuntu One. Right click on the chosen folder and select Make Link. Your new shortcut will appear with the text Link to “Folder Name” and an Arrow Shortcut Marker attached. If you are happy with your new shortcut as is, then drag it to your desktop or taskbar as desired. We created the shortcut twice in our example…once for the desktop and once for the taskbar. For our example we decided to customize the taskbar shortcut a bit. To customize your shortcut right click on the shortcut and select Properties. • How to Send the Contents of the Clipboard to a Text File via the Send to Menu

  We have previously covered how to send the contents of a text file to the Windows Clipboard with a simple Send To shortcut, but what if you want to do the opposite? That is: send the contents of the clipboard to a text file with a simple shortcut. No problem. Here’s how. Copy the ClipOut Utility While Windows offers the command line tool ‘clip’ as a way to direct console output to the clipboard, it does not have a tool to direct the clipboard contents to the console. To do this, we are going to use a small utility named ClipOut (download link at the bottom). Simply download and extract this file to a location in your Windows PATH variable (if you don’t know what this means, just extract the EXE to your C:\Windows folder) and you are ready to go. Add the Send To Shortcut Open your Send To folder location by going to Run > shell:sendto Create a new shortcut with the command: CMD /C ClipOut > Note the above command will overwrite the contents of the selected file. If you would like to append to the contents of the selected file, use this command instead: CMD /C ClipOut >> Of course, you could make shortcuts for both. Give a descriptive name to the shortcut. You’re finished. Using this shortcut will now send the text contents copied to your Windows Clipboard to the selected file. It is important to note that the ClipOut tool only supports outputting text. If you had binary data copied to your clipboard, then the output would be empty. Changing the Icon By default, the icon for the shortcut will appear as a command prompt, but you can easily change this by editing the properties of the shortcut and clicking the Change Icon button. We used an icon located in “%SystemRoot%\System32\shell32.dll”, but any icon of your liking will do. As an additional tweak, you can set the properties of the shortcut to run minimized. This will prevent the command window from “blinking” when the send to command is run (instead it will blink in your taskbar, which is hardly noticeable). Links Download ClipOut Utility

• "file not found" error while commiting

  I have a working copy, checked out from SVN repository. When i'm trying to commit, i get following error: svn: File not found: revision 57, path '/trunk/path/to/my/file/logo-mini.jpg' I've found this file in the repo and noticed, that it has only one revision - 58. I don't understand, why SVN complains about this file, when it is presented and why it points to revision 57 instead of 58 ? I've also renamed the grand-grand-grand-parent folder of this file. Possible, this is an issue ... Update Detailed error description, that i've got from Cornerstone app (Mac OS X): Description : Could not find the specified file. Suggestion : Check that the path you have specified is correct. Technical Information ===================== Error : V4FileNotFoundError Exception : ZSVNNoSuchEntryException Causal Information ================== Description : Commit failed (details follow): Status : 160013 File : subversion/libsvn_client/commit.c, 867 Description : File not found: revision 57, path '/trunk/assets/themes/base/article-content/images/logo-mini.jpg' Status : 160013 File : subversion/libsvn_fs_fs/tree.c, 663 So, i've renamed "/trunk/assets/themes directory" to "/trunk/assets/skins", while improving project structure. I've tried following: updating /trunk/assets/themes directory cleaning deleting from filesytem and checking out again reverting entire /trunk/assets/themes directory to the HEAD revision. Even this does't helps. Still getting the same error. I've got no results.

• Exchange 2010 UR3 - customizing OWA logon page

  I have an Exchange 2010 UR3 deployment that I need to customize the OWA logon page for. I've created a new LGNTOPL.GIF file to replace the existing one in the folder: “C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V14\ClientAccess\Owa\14.3.158.1\themes\resources” When I bring up OWA, I still get the original “Outlook Web App” logo. I’ve searched and found a couple of other instances of LGNTOPL.GIF in the directories: “C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V14\ClientAccess\Owa\14.3.123.3\themes\resources” “C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V14\ClientAccess\Owa\14.3.146.0\themes\resources” “C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V14\ClientAccess\Owa\Current\themes\resources” I’ve replaced the LGNTOPL.GIF file in each of the above directories but got the same results. I’ve tried clearing my browser cache and even using multiple browsers from multiple PC’s but the same results. I’ve even tried making my GIF file the same pixel size as the original LGNTOPL.GIF logo but still the same results. I’ve tried restarting IIS on the CAS server and restarting the server but same results. Has something changed with Exchange 2010 UR3 when trying to customize OWA? I don't see anything documented about any change to OWA customization. Thanks

• How do I use jQueryUI's ui-states with JSF2's h:messages?

  It seems like it should be very simple to specify that the h:messages generated by JSF should be styled using jQueryUI's nice ui-states. But sadly I can't make it fit. It seems that the jQueryUI states require several elements (div,div,p,span) in order to make it work. • Win7 - Some pinned program's icons are corrupt, show default

  I have both FF 3.6 & Chrome pinned to my taskbar in win7. The icons for these two programs show up as the ugly default icon from yesteryear. Strange. Is there some way to force an icon refresh for pinned programs? When I first added them they showed properly, but several days later they reverted to this state Un-pinning the program causes the icon to show up properly, and re-pinning it causes it to break again. These other proggies show up fine: Media Center, Media Player Classic HC, Hulu Desktop, WMP, and the folders. I have 2 user accounts on this box, and both are showing this behavior. I have tried changing the taskbar icon size to 'small' and back, but to no effect. Edit (Add) The icons show up as broken in the start menu too, but I can navigate to the EXE directly. When I click "change icon" in the properties for the start menu entry I get the error : Can not find %ProgramFiles%\Google\Chrome...\chrome.exe.

• Volume keys not working after installing Silverlight

  I downloaded Silverlight for Safari to use Netflix. This download has caused my MacBook's volume keys to become non-functional, although I can still change volume through the icon in the menu bar or through system preferences. When I press the keys to change the volume, the transparent volume icon appears on the screen with a circle-slash icon at bottom center. Does anyone know how to make the keys functional again? I deleted Silverlight but still no sound.

• Is there a way to add a custom favicon to an App Tab?

  Since the release of Firefox "5", I've come to really love the new "App Tabs" feature. However, I've now realized that several internal websites at work do not have favicons. So, when I make an App Tab out of these sites, there's only a "blank page" icon in the tab. Perhaps I wouldn't mind so much if there was only one, but there's at least two or three of these. So, it's just a bit annoying to have to mouse-over the App Tabs to figure out which is what. I've tried using Favicon Picker 2 to change the bookmark icons, but it only does exactly that - changes the icon in the bookmarks folder. It doesn't change the favicon that's displayed next to the URL in the Address Bar, or the one next to the page title in tabs - the latter being that which is used for the App Tab icon. So, is there a plugin or other client-side (and preferably "Joe User" friendly) method to assign an icon to a web page or domain, that will be used in the tab bar?

• Thundrbird 3: can't change column width?

  I recently installed Thunderbird 3.0.3. Just noticed a suboptimal UI setting: in the upper pane, which lists the e-mails in the current folder, the Date column is about 200px wide. So when I keep the window at 480x600, all I see in a row is: | tree icon | favourites icon | attachment icon | read icon | junk icon | Date and time, followed by 5cm whitespace | ... | P Where "P" is the first letter of the name of the sender. And the "..." is actually shown this way, I have no idea which column it is meant to be. But I don't see neither the sender, nor the message subject, which makes scrolling a folder for a certain mail rather pointless. I see these when I maximize the window, actually the columns are then not only bigger, they are arranged in another sequence. But I feel that holding a mail client permanently maximised at 1600x1200 is a waste of screen real estate. My naive solution attempt was to try to go with the mouse cursor to the right edge of the date column and try to shrink it by moving the cursor left while holding down the left mouse button. Not only is this default behaviour for all resizable columns I've ever encountered in GUIs, the cursor actually turns into a horizontal double-headed arrow. But pulling has no effect at all. I cannot make a wide column narrow, and I cannot make the narrow columns wide. I didn't find anything in the preferences either. So can please somebody explain how to get the columns arranged sensibly?

• Windows 7: Notification area settings are lost on restart

  Recently noticed that my icons settings in notification area are getting reset on system restart. For example I specify Skype icon to always show icon and notification. After I restart Windows - it's hidden again. It's not just for one specific icon, it's for all of them. Checking box "Always shows icons and notifications" works, and all icons appear, but this is not an option. Please help. Thanks.

• Issue with "Games Folder" having stuck icons

  I have a Win7-64 with Home Premium. Recently I installed Torchlight via Steam on my PC and tried to keep the shortcut in my Games Folder. Instead, it make a blank icon (as in, default application icon) which doesn't launch the game and un-removable. Can anyone tell me how to get rid of the icon?
