  The title is more complicated than it has to be, here's the problem query. Not using quotes for the attributes doesn't throw an error but fails because it's not the actual XPath string I need. I don't see anything in the YQL docs about how to handle escaping. I'm aware of how edge-casey this is but was hoping they'd have some sort of escaping guide.

The purpose is to group by a set of variables and then show the last time this grouping occured in the db. I'm using Linqpad 4 to generate these results so the Timestamp gives me a string whereas FirstOrDefault gives me the whole object which isn't ideal. Update On further testing I've noticed that the number and type of SQLException is related to the class created in the groupby clause. So, ATable .GroupBy(x=> new {FieldA = x.FieldAID}) .Select(x=>new {FieldA = x.Key.FieldA, last_seen = x.OrderByDescending(y=>y.Timestamp).FirstOrDefault()}) results in SqlException: Invalid column name 'FieldAID' x 5

  Hi, I am looking for some examples of how to do model binding in ASP.NET MVC2 for COMPLEX objects. All the exmples I can find are of simple objects with no child collections or child objects. If I have an Expense object with a child ExpensePayment object. In rails, child objects are rendered with the HTML name attributes like this: expense[expense_payment][net] Rails uses fields_for to render child objects. • (ASP.NET) Problem with a repeater nested in a repeater, how to know when it is a itemCommand?

  I have the following problem: Keeping in mind the following structure: <repeater> <updatepanel> <div> <link id="fatherLink" /> </div> <div> <repeater> <link id="childLink"/> </repeater> <div> </updatepanel> </repeater> right? I am using updatepanel, so, when i click in the fatherlink, i put a click method in the server side, so it populates it's child repeater. no problems in there, but I need that the childLink to perform a action on the server side, like take in account some data and then sending to a given page to do something else. When doing this I happen to notice that there are three situations: 1 - First server call, is not a postback it populates the father repeater (no problems here). 2 - Second server call, when the father link is clicked i populate the child repeater. Something like a "fatherLink_Click" function (no problems here). 3 - Third server call, when the child is clicked: i can't seem to know that it is the child's item command, so i can't stop it from databinding all over again, which kills my itemcommand event... (the problem). What can I do?

  Hi Folks, First time poster here. A quick question about setting up a loop here. I want to set up a for loop for the first 1/3 of the main loop that will increase a value from .00001 or similar to 1. So I can use it to multiply a sample variable so as to create a fade-in in this simple audio file playback routine. My problem is I'm trying to figure out a way to loop the variable 'fade' so it either increases or decreases to 1, so as I can modify the output variable. I wanted to do this in say 3 stages: 1. From 0 to frames/3 to increace a multiplication factor from .0001 to 1 2. from frames 1/3 to frames 2/3 to do nothing (multiply by 1) and 3. For the factor to decrease again below 1 so as for the output variable to decrease back to the original point. How can I create a loop that will increase and decrease these values over the outside loop?

  I'm struggling to come up with the proper way to design a form that will allow me to input data for two different models. The form is for an 'Incident', which has the following relationships: belongs_to :customer belongs_to :user has_one :incident_status has_many :incident_notes accepts_nested_attributes_for :incident_notes, :allow_destroy => false So an incident is assigned to a 'Customer' and a 'User', and the user is able to add 'Notes' to the incident. I'm having trouble with the notes part of the form.   I have a DataGrid with multiple columns. The data grid has a style that changes the forecolor of text on a row where the mouse is over or the row has been selected. So the text color will change from black to white, for example. In one of the columns in the data grid, I have a ListBox. Is it possible for the items in the list box to have the foreground change to that of the data grid row, when you do mouse over or select the data grid row? I don't want to have a style for the list box that is specific to mouse over for the list items, I just want the foreground of the list items to change automatically to the forground of the data grid row when the mouse is over the row or selected the row. So even if the user moves their mouse over a different column (that doesn't contain the listbox) - I would want the foreground for the listbox to change. How can I go about doing this?   Hi all, A project that I've inherited has the following structure: Project A produces a static library. Project B produces a static library and links with library A. Project C produces the executable and links with library B. When I run app in debug mode, I can successfully debug code within the executable (project C) and the static library from project B. I can't, however, debug anything in the Project A library -- my breakpoints are ignored. I've checked and made sure that debug symbols are enabled and not stripped.   hi, i have a page with dynamic data loaded by some ajax and lots of javascript. the page contains a list from which the user can choose and each selected value loads new data to the page. one of these data items is a url provided to an iframe. i use jQuery BBQ: Back Button & Query Library to simulate the browser-back behavior. all works well besides the fact that when i click the back button for the first time the iframe goes back to its previous location and then i need to click back again to make the page go back. is there a way to disable the iframe's back behavior?

  I've looked all over SO and Google but I guess I'm not using the right search terms or something. Anyway, say I have three tables: Companies ----------------------------------------- id name user_id Users ----------------------------------------- id username usertype_id UserTypes ----------------------------------------- id typeofuser So ACME would be a company, it would have a user Moe and Moe would be a usertype of Stooge. In SQL, I would do something like: select * from companies c join users u on (u.id = c.user_id) join usertypes ut on (ut.id = u.usertype_id) where ut.typeofuser = 'Stooge' But I can't seem to figure out how to do that in a Criteria. I have tried: Criteria crit = io.getSession().createCriteria(Company.class); List<Company> list = crit.createCriteria("users") .createCriteria("usertypes") .add(Restriction.eq("typeofuser", "Stooge").list(); But I get back way too many records. And the results don't even come close to being accurate. I've also tried: Criteria crit = io.getSession().createCriteria(Company.class); List<Company> list = crit.createAlias("users", "u") .createAlias("u.usertypes", "ut") .add(Restriction.eq("ut.typeofuser", "Stooge").list(); Seems to bring back the exact same result set. I actually have read the user manual. And when I nest only one level deep (ie, searching by users is fine) but when I get two layers deep, I can't quite get it. And the manual is no help. I just can't relate cats and kittens to business objects. Maybe they should use cats, kittens and fleas? :-/ Thanks for any suggestions.
