    Very simply, I want to be able to access the year from the select box as an integer.     Hello! I'm investigating Zend Framework and currently stucked in counting resulting rows of sql query... Every method I try (from documentation and some blogposts and tutorials) returns an error (like Call to undefined function) or simply gives the incorrect value. I've tried this: $checkquery = $db->select() ->from('users', 'COUNT(*)') ->where('login = ?', $login) ->where('password = ?', $password) ->query(); $checkrequest=fetchRow($checkquery)->num; ...then this one: $checkquery = $db->select() ->from('users', '*') ->where('login = ?', $login) ->where('password = ?', $password) ->query(); $checkrequest=count($checkquery->fetchAll()); and even: $checkquery = $db->select() ->from('users', '*') ->where('login = ?', $login) ->where('password = ?', $password) ->query(); $checkrequest=$checkquery->fetchAll()->num; Also rowCount() and count(fetchRow()) and count(fetchAll()->toArray()). But always I got an error message or duplicate inserts in db in further insert function. So what is the correct way to do the resulting row calculation in select clause in Zend Framework 1.9 (I use this one) ?

VARIABLE area NUMBER DECLARE radius NUMBER(2) := &s_radius; pi CONSTANT NUMBER := 3.14; BEGIN :area := pi * radius * radius; END; I understand that I can run this using SqlPlus, but I remember my teacher was running this from the web browser using Application Express. I try to run the same commands there, at HOME SQLSQL Commands, but I keep getting the error "ORA-00900: invalid SQL statement" . Can you help me run it in Application Express or point me to a way where I can use an editor to run these course exercises? Thanks!

I know that selectedIndex is the key to my problem, but I'm clueless of how to use it or how to use it on an if else statement. This query should do the trick: SELECT SUM(profit) FROM trades JOIN (SELECT DISTINCT tradeID FROM trades WHERE trades.corporationID = 1) ... unfortunately, DISTINCT JOINs seem crazy ineffective. Is there any alternative I can use to determine how much revenue a corporation has, taking into account that a corporation might be listed several times with the same tradeID?

    I'm trying to iterate over some elements in an XML document that may be nested, but as I iterate over them I may be removing some from the tree. I'm thinking the best way is to do this recursively, so I'm trying to come up with an XPath Query that will select all the top-level nodes relative to the current node. //foo[not(ancestor::foo)] works great at the document level, but I'm trying to figure out how to do this from a relative query. <foo id="1"> <foo id="2" /> <foo id="3"> <foo id="4"> <bar> <foo id="5"> <foo id="6" /> </foo> <foo id="7" /> </bar> </foo> </foo> </foo> If the current node is foo#3, I only want to select foo#4. When the current node is foo#4, I only want to select foo#5 and foo#7. I think I'm trying to select any descendant foo nodes of the current node, but without any ancestor foo nodes between the current node and the node I'm selecting. My conundrum is if we're already inside a foo node, not(ancestor::foo) doesn't help.

    I have a message queue named amq570queue, after accumulating 2 million messages it started to slow down. What broker settings do I need to adjust to fix this issue? I temporarily moved it into a new message queue(in the same broker) and it is working fine. I initially thought that the kahadb has reached its size limit that is why it is getting slow.     I'm trying to use javascript to give three divs a negative top position equal to their height. I've got it working, sort of (thanks to help from here!) but instead of calculating the height of each div and calculating the top position accordingly, each div is being assigned a negative top position of -367px: <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function() { //Get height of footer popup var pHeight = $('footer ul li > ul').outerHeight(); //Calculate new top position based on footer popup height var nHeight = pHeight + "px"; $('footer ul li > ul').css({ //Change top position to equal height of footer popup 'top' : "-" + nHeight }); }); </script> I've tried this using .height, .outerheight, and even .getheight which someone mentioned on the Jquery documentation for .height. I also tried using an each statement, though it didn't seem to work; I may have written it incorrectly. In addition (if possible), I'd like the negative position to take into account the height of a content being generated using the css :after psuedo-property, though I can always manually add that in to the calculation if javascript has no way to access that. EDIT: Added a test page link.
