  • Is there a Java method that encodes a collection of parameters as a URL query component?

    - by Steven Huwig
Is there a widely-used Java library that does something like what dojo.objectToQuery() does? E.g. (assuming the use of HttpCore's HttpParams object, but any key-value mapping will do): HttpParams params = new BasicHttpParams() .setParameter("foo", "bar") .setParameter("thud", "grunt"); UnknownLibrary.toQueryString(params); should yield "foo=bar&thud=grunt". I know it's not hard to write but it seems like it should have already been written. I just can't find it.

  • Remove this URL string when login fails and simply show div error

    - by Anagio
My developer built our registration page to display a div when logins failed based on a string in the URL. When logins fail this is added to the URL /login?msg=invalid The PHP in my login.phtml which displays the error messages based on the msg= parameter is <?php $msg = ""; $msg = $_GET['msg']; if($msg==""){ $showMsg = ""; } elseif($msg=="invalid"){ $showMsg = ' <div class="alert alert-error"> <a class="close" data-dismiss="alert">×</a> <strong>Error!</strong> Login or password is incorrect! </div>'; } elseif($msg=="disabled"){ $showMsg = "Your account has been disabled."; } elseif($msg==2){ $showMsg = "Your account is not activated. Please check your email."; } ?> In the controller the redirect to that URL is else //email id does not exist in our database { //redirecting back with invalid email(invalid) msg=invalid. $this->_redirect($url."?msg=invalid"); } I know there are a few other validation types for disabled accounts etc. I'm in the process of redesigning the entire interface and would like to get rid of this kind of validation so that the div tags display when logins fail but not show the URL strings. If it matters the new div I want to display is <div class="alert alert-error alert-login"> Email or password incorrect </div> I'd like to replace the php my self in my login.phtml and controller but not a good programmer. What can I replace $this->_redirect($url."?msg=invalid"); with so that no strings are added to the URL and display the appropriate div tags? Thanks

  • nginx rewrite rule to convert URL segments to query string parameters

    - by Nick
    I'm setting up an nginx server for the first time, and having some trouble getting the rewrite rules right for nginx. The Apache rules we used were: See if it's a real file or directory, if so, serve it, then send all requests for / to Director.php DirectoryIndex Director.php If the URL has one segment, pass it as rt RewriteRule ^/([a-zA-Z0-9\-\_]+)/$ /Director.php?rt=$1 [L,QSA] If the URL has two segments, pass it as rt and action RewriteRule ^/([a-zA-Z0-9\-\_]+)/([a-zA-Z0-9\-\_]+)/$ /Director.php?rt=$1&action=$2 [L,QSA] My nginx config file looks like: server { ... location / { try_files $uri $uri/ /index.php; } location ~ \.php$ { fastcgi_pass unix:/var/run/php5-fpm.sock; fastcgi_index index.php; fastcgi_param SCRIPT_FILENAME $document_root$fastcgi_script_name; include fastcgi_params; } } How do I get the URL segments into Query String Parameters like in the Apache rules above? UPDATE 1 Trying Pothi's approach: # serve static files directly location ~* ^.+\.(jpg|jpeg|gif|css|png|js|ico|html)$ { access_log off; expires 30d; } location / { try_files $uri $uri/ /Director.php; rewrite "^/([a-zA-Z0-9\-\_]+)/$" "/Director.php?rt=$1" last; rewrite "^/([a-zA-Z0-9\-\_]+)/([a-zA-Z0-9\-\_]+)/$" "/Director.php?rt=$1&action=$2" last; } location ~ \.php$ { fastcgi_pass unix:/var/run/php5-fpm.sock; fastcgi_index index.php; fastcgi_param SCRIPT_FILENAME $document_root$fastcgi_script_name; include fastcgi_params; } This produces the output No input file specified. on every request. I'm not clear on if the .php location gets triggered (and subsequently passed to php) when a rewrite in any block indicates a .php file or not. UPDATE 2 I'm still confused on how to setup these location blocks and pass the parameters. location /([a-zA-Z0-9\-\_]+)/ { fastcgi_pass unix:/var/run/php5-fpm.sock; fastcgi_index index.php; fastcgi_param SCRIPT_FILENAME ${document_root}Director.php?rt=$1{$args}; include fastcgi_params; } UPDATE 3 It looks like the root directive was missing, which caused the No input file specified. message. Now that this is fixed, I get the index file as if the URL were / on every request regardless of the number of URL segments. It appears that my location regular expression is being ignored. My current config is: # This location is ignored: location /([a-zA-Z0-9\-\_]+)/ { fastcgi_pass unix:/var/run/php5-fpm.sock; fastcgi_index Director.php; set $args $query_string&rt=$1; fastcgi_param SCRIPT_FILENAME $document_root$fastcgi_script_name; include fastcgi_params; } location / { try_files $uri $uri/ /Director.php; } location ~ \.php$ { fastcgi_pass unix:/var/run/php5-fpm.sock; fastcgi_index Director.php; fastcgi_param SCRIPT_FILENAME $document_root$fastcgi_script_name; include fastcgi_params; }

  • How Do I get City State Zip in MVC 3 URL Route without writing a controller for every state and actions for each city

    - by OpTech Marketing
I have the need to have the urls in my bosses application look like: http://domain.com/Texas/Dallas/72701 However, I don't want to write a controller for every state and an action for every city. routes.MapRoute( "DrillDown", // Route name "{controller}/{action}/{ZipId}", new { controller = "State", action = "City", ZipId = UrlParameter.Optional} // Parameter defaults Can someone help me write a pattern for the routes that will accept State/City/Zip without destroying the ability for me to have regular routes with controller/Action/Param ? Looking all over and can't find any direction.

    - by MCardinale
Using ASP.NET MVC, I need to configure my URLs like this: www.foo.com/company : render View Company www.foo.com/company/about : render View Company www.foo.com/company/about/mission : render View Mission If "company" is my controller and "about" is my action, what should be "mission"? For every "folder" (company, about and mission) I have to render a different View. Anyone knows how can I do that? Thanks!

  • How can I extract URL and link text from HTML in Perl?

    - by anon
I previously asked how to do this in Groovy. However, now I'm rewriting my app in Perl because of all the CPAN libraries. If the page contained these links: <a href="http://www.google.com">Google</a> <a href="http://www.apple.com">Apple</a> The output would be: Google, http://www.google.com Apple, http://www.apple.com What is the best way to do this in Perl?

  • How to stop going to redirected URL in Google App Engine with Python?

    - by user1762586
I'm using urlfetch from google app engine, but it keeps going to the redirected final page even though I use: result = urlfetch.fetch(classUrl, payload=None, method=urlfetch.GET, headers={}, allow_truncated=False, follow_redirects=False) E.g. if classUrl was a searched term in Google (https://www.google.com/search?q=setInstanceFollowRedirects()+python&oq=setInstanceFollowRedirects()+python&sugexp=chrome,mod=0&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8) it would redirect me to www.google.com How do I stop this redirection? Thanks!

  • IIS redirects to url beginning with "http://http" although syntax in web.config file appears to be alright

    - by user1608920
    Here's what I have so far: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <configuration> <location path="osb"> <system.webServer> <httpRedirect enabled="true" exactDestination="true" destination="http://50.63.54.135/app/osb" httpResponseStatus="Permanent" /> </system.webServer> </location> </configuration> The above redirect works, but it takes me to http://http//50.63.54.135/app/osb instead of just http://50.63.54.135/app/osb This produces an 404 error. I tried to remove "http://" from destination. Same effect. What am I missing ?

  • How do I point a domain name to a Django url?

    - by username2
I have a subdomain m.example.com that I want to point to the same location as example.com/mobile running on an apache2/django1.3 installation. example.com is the landing page, and I have the urls.py configured such that urls that match /^mobile$/ will be served the mobile version of the page. I looked into <VirtualHost>, but I think it requires a physical location for me to point m.example.com at and with the django urls there is no physical location except for the root of the project directory. I am unsure if the configuration change is made on the apache side or the django side. I've also looked into the mod_rewrite module for Apache, but I would prefer if I didnt have to redirect m.example.com to example.com/mobile

  • Dont understand the concept of extends in URL.openConnection() in JAVA

    - by user1722361
Hi I am trying to learn JAVA deeply and so I am digging into the JDK source code in the following lines: URL url = new URL("http://www.google.com"); URLConnection tmpConn = url.openConnection(); I attached the source code and set the breakpoint at the second line and stepped into the code. I can see the code flow is: URL.openConnection() - sun.net.www.protocol.http.Handler.openConnection() I have two questions about this First In URL.openConnection() the code is: public URLConnection openConnection() throws java.io.IOException { return handler.openConnection(this); } handler is an object of URLStreamHandler, define as blow transient URLStreamHandler handler; But URLStreamHandler is a abstract class and method openConnection() is not implement in it so when handler calls this method, it should go to find a subclass who implement this method, right? But there are a lot classes who implement this methods in sun.net.www.protocol (like http.Hanlder, ftp.Handler ) How should the code know which "openConnection" method it should call? In this example, this handler.openConnection() will go into http.Handler and it is correct. (if I set the url as ftp://www.google.com, it will go into ftp.Handler) I cannot understand the mechanism. second. I have attached the source code so I can step into the JDK and see the variables but for many classes like sun.net.www.protocol.http.Handler, there are not source code in src.zip. I googled this class and there is source code online I can get but why they did not put it (and many other classes) in the src.zip? Where can I find a comprehensive version of source code? Thanks!

  • Automating Form Login

    - by Greg_Gutkin
Introduction A common task in configuring a web application for proxying in Pagelet Producer is setting up form autologin. PP provides a wizard-like tool for detecting the login form fields, but this is usually only the first step in configuring this feature. If the generated configuration doesn't seem to work, some additional manual modifications will be needed to complete the setup. This article will try to guide you through this process while steering you away from common pitfalls. For the purposes of this article, let's assume the following characteristics about your environment: Web Application Base URL: http://host/app (configured as Resource Source URL in PP) Pagelet Producer Base URL: http://pp/pagelets Form Field Auto-Detection Form Autologin is configured in the PP Admin UI under resource_name/Autologin/Form Login. First, you'll enter the URL to the login form under "Login Form Identification". This will enable the admin wizard to connect to and display the login page. Caution: RedirectsMake sure the entered URL matches what you see in the browser's address bar, when the application login page is displayed. For example, even though you may be able to reach the login page by simply typing http://host/app, the URL you end up on may change to http://host/app/login via browser redirect(s).The second URL is the one you will want to use. Caution: External Login ServersThe login page may actually come from a different server than the application you are trying to proxy. For example, you may notice that the login page URL changes to http://hostB/appB. This is common when external SSO products are involved. There are two ways of dealing with this situation. One is to configure Pagelet Producer to participate in SSO. This approach is out of scope of this article and is discussed in a separate whitepaper (TODO add link). The second approach is to use the autologin feature to provide stored credentials to the SSO login form. Since the login form URL is not an extension of the application base URL (PP resource URL), you will need to add a new PP resource for the SSO server and configure the login form on that resource instead of the original application resource. One side benefit of this additional resource is that it can reused for other applications relying on the same SSO server for login. After entering the login page URL (make sure dropdown says "URL"), click "Automatically Detect Form Fields". This will bring up the web app's login page in a new browser window. Fill it out and submit it as you would normally. If everything goes right, Pagelet Producer will intercept the submitted values and fill out all the needed configuration data in the Admin UI. If the login form window doesn't close or configuration data doesn't get filled in, you may have not entered the login page URL correctly. Review the two cautionary notes above and make any necessary changes. If the form fields got filled automatically, it's time to save the configuration and test it out. If you can access a protected area of the backend application via a proxied PP URL without filling out its login form, then you are pretty much done with login form configuration. The only other step you will need to complete before declaring this aspect of configuration production ready is configuring form field source. You may skip to that section below. Manual Login Form Identification Let's take a closer look at Login Form Identification. This determines how Pagelet Producer recognizes login forms as such. URL The most efficient way of detecting login forms is by looking at the page URL. This method can only be used under the following conditions: Login page URL must be different from the post login application URLs. Login page URL must stay constant regardless of the path it takes to reach the page. For example, reaching the login page by going to the application base URL or to a specific protected URL must result in a redirect to the same login page URL (query string excluded). If only the query string parameters change, just leave out the query string from the configured login page URL. If either of these conditions is not fullfilled, you must switch to the RegEx approach below. RegEx If the login page URL is not uniform enough across all scenarios or is indistinguishable from other page locations, PP can be configured to recognize it by looking at the page markup itself. This is accomplished by changing the dropdown to "RegEx". If regular expressions scare you, take comfort from the fact that in most cases you won't need to enter any special regex characters. Let's look at an example: Say you have a login form that looks like <form id='loginForm' action='login?from=pageA' > <input id='user'> <input id='pass'> </form> Since this form has an id attribute, you can be reasonably sure that this login form can be uniquely identified across the web application by this snippet: "id='loginForm'". (Unless, of course your backend web application contains login forms to other apps). Since no wildcards are needed to find this snippet, you can just enter it as is into the RegEx field - no special regular expression characters needed! If the web developer who created the form wasn't kind enough to provide a unique id, you will need to look for other snippets of the page to uniquely identify it. It could be the action URL, an input field id, or some other markup fragment. You should abstain from using UI text as an identifier it may change in translated versions of the page and prevent the login page logic from working for international users. You may need to turn to regular expression wildcard syntax if no simple matches work. For more information on regular expression, refer to the Resources section. Form Submit Location Now we'll look at the form submit location. If the captured URL contains query string parameters that will likely change from one form submission to the next, you will need to change its type to RegEx. This type will tell Pagelet Producer to parse the login page for the action URL and submit to the value found. The regular expression needs to point at the actual action URL with its first grouping expression. Taking the example form definition above, the form submit location regex would be: action='(.*?)' The parentheses are used to identify the actual action URL, while the rest of the expression provides the context for finding it. Expression .*? is a so-called reluctant wildcard that matches any character excluding the single quote that follows. See Resources section below for further information on regular expressions. Manual Form Field Detection If the Admin UI form field detection wizard fails to populate login form configuration page, you will have to enter the fields by hand. Use a built-in browser developer tool or addon (e.g. Firebug) to inspect the form element and its children input elements. For each input element (including hidden elements), create an entry under Form Fields. Change its Source according to the next section. Form Field Source Change the source of any of the fields not exposed to the users of the login form (i.e. hidden fields) to "Generated". This means Pagelet Producer will just use the values returned by the web app rather than supplying values it stored. For fields that contain sensitive data or vary from user to user (e.g. username & password), change the source to User (Credential) Vault. Logging Support To help you troubleshoot you autologin configuration, PP provides some useful logging support. To turn on detailed logging for the autologin feature, navigate to Settings in Admin UI. Under Logging, change the log level for AutoLogin to Finest. Known Limitations Autologin feature may not work as expected if login form fields (not just the values, but the DOM elements themselves) are generated dynamically by client side JavaScript. • Setting up a Reverse Proxy using IIS, URL Rewrite and ARR

Today there was a question in the IIS.net Forums asking how to expose two different Internet sites from another site making them look like if they were subdirectories in the main site. So for example the goal was to have a site: www.site.com expose a www.site.com/company1  and a www.site.com/company2 and have the content from www.company1.com served for the first one and www.company2.com served in the second one. Furthermore we would like to have the responses cached in the server for performance...Did you know that DotNetSlackers also publishes .net articles written by top known .net Authors? We already have over 80 articles in several categories including Silverlight. Take a look: here.

  • Repeated calls with random Javascript append to the URL

Is this a common occurence?

  • URL Rewriting on GoDaddy Virtual Server

    - by Aristotle
I migrated a Kohana2 application from a shared-hosting environment over to a virtual dedicated server. After this migration, I can't seem to get my .htaccess file working again. I apologize up front, but over the years I have never experienced so much frustration with anything else as I do with the dreaded .htaccess file. Presently I have my project installed immediately within a directory in my public folder: /var/html/www/info.php (general information about server) /var/html/www/logo.jpg (some flat file) /var/html/www/somesite.com/[kohana site exists here] So my .htaccess file is within that directory, and has the following contents: # Turn on URL rewriting RewriteEngine On # Installation directory RewriteBase /somesite.com/ # Protect application and system files from being viewed # This is only necessary when these files are inside the webserver document root RewriteRule ^(application|modules|system) - [R=404,L] # Allow any files or directories that exist to be displayed directly RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d # Rewrite all other URLs to index.php/URL RewriteRule .* index.php?kohana_uri=$0 [PT,QSA,L] # Alternativly, if the rewrite rule above does not work try this instead: #RewriteRule .* index.php?kohana_uri=$0 [PT,QSA,L] This doesn't work. The initial controller is loaded, since index.php is called up implicitly when nothing else is in the url. But if I try to load up some other non-default controller, the site fails. If I place the index.php back within the url, the call to other controllers works just fine. I'm really at my wits end, and would appreciate some direction here.

RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^(www\.)?(.+) RewriteRule ^ https://www.%2%{REQUEST_URI} [L,R=301] However, I want it to do this only when the url is of the format: something.com If the url is like: something.something.com I do not want the rule adding www. How do I change this?

  • Pagination, Duplicate Content, and SEO

    - by Iamtotallylost
Please consider a list of items (forum comments, articles, shoes, doesn't matter) which are spread over multiple pages. Different sort orders are supported (by date, by popularity, by price, etc). So, an URL might look like this (I use the query style here to simplify things): /items?id=1234&page=42&sort=popularity /items?id=1234&page=5&sort=date Now, in terms of SEO, I think I should be worried about duplicate content. After all, each item appears at least as many times as there are sort orders. I've seen Matt Cutts talking about the rel=canonical link tag, but he also said that the canonical page should have very similar content. But this is not the case here because page #1 in a non-canonical sort order might have completely different items than page #1 in the canonical sort order. For a given non-canonical page, there is no clear canonical page listing all the same items, so I think rel=canonical won't help here. Then I thought about using the noindex meta tag on all pages with non-canonical sort order, and not using it on all pages with canonical sort order. However, if I use that method, what will happen with backlinks that are going to non-canonical pages -- will they still spread their page rank juice, even though the first page googlebot (or any other crawler) is going to encounter is marked as "noindex"? Can you please comment on my problem and what you think is the best solution? If you think you have a better solution, please consider that 1) I do not want to use Javascript for this, 2) I do not want all the items to be on one page. Thank you.

  • Does Google consider my blog page as duplicate page if that page URL and that page URL with ‘showcomment’ cached separately?

    - by John Sanjay
While I’m searching all the index page of my blog I found that Google cached one of my blog page http://example.com/page.html as well as http://example.com/page.html?showComment=1372054729698 These two pages are showing while I searched site:http://example.com. I’m so afraid about it because these two pages are same with same content. Does google consider these two pages as duplicate? If so what can I do now? Is it really a big problem to my blog?
