  • Thesaurus software needed for Windows XP

    Can anyone recommend (free) Thesaurus software for Windows XP (that isn't WordWeb)? It has to work with British English. I want to install standalone software that gives me easy access (right click, keyboard shortcut or something) to alternatives to the selected word when I'm writing, whether it's an email, a text doc in notepad, on an internet forum or whatever. I've tried WordWeb but found it pretty horrible - I want something that acts more like the Thesaurus in MS Word, giving a dozen or so decent alternatives to the selected word.

    In Windows XP we can search for files witch contains a defined keyword (inside all files types) Windows 7 can look inside files for a keywords, okay, but only for text files. (*.doc,*.txt, *.inf, ...), not (*.conf, *.dat, *.*, ...) Microsoft search filters don't contain any filter I can use for this. Any idea?

Where is it?

From the man page, it seems like it is possible to create a secure proxy using netcat by which I could point my web browser to like a proxy server , that could fork/drive my web traffic through the proxy.   • having issue while making the client calls persession in c# wcf

    1.) I have a main method Processing, which takes string as an arguments and that string contains some x number of tasks. 2.) I have another method Status, which keeps track of first method by using two variables TotalTests and CurrentTest. which will be modified every time with in a loop in first method(Processing). 3.) When more than one client makes a call parallely to my web service to call the Processing method by passing a string, which has different tasks will take more time to process. so in the mean while clients will be using a second thread to call the Status method in the webservice to get the status of the first method. 4.) when point number 3 is being done all the clients are supposed to get the variables(TotalTests,CurrentTest) parallely with out being mixed up with other client requests. 5.) The code that i have provided below is getting mixed up variables results for all the clients when i make them as static. If i remove static for the variables then clients are just getting all 0's for these 2 variables and i am unable to fix it. Please take a look at the below code. Usually you want to use the same event handler for all download items, so it's a bit annoying to have to set the event handlers over and over again for each DownloadItem.     I though returning false would be enough to cancel the link action, but apparently it isn't. When I click the link in the code below I do get the 'click' message, which is expected.     Hi Guys, How do you generally proceed for your package installations on Linux, for packages that are not part of your distrib's repos? On my side I am used to install in /opt. But since, I saw this doc on the Internet: http://www.pathname.com/fhs/. Now I am confused: apparently /usr/local would be also a possibility. What is the difference between both?   • User given a login prompt when closing Word documents after viewing them in IE7

    When using IE7 to view Word documents on our CRM system (an ASP.NET 2.0 application running on Windows Server 2003 and IIS 6 and using Windows authenticaton) I'm finding that a prompt appears when the user closes the document. The Word document is originally opened by clicking a link in the CRM system. Are there permissions that I can set on the folder containing the Word documents to prevent this prompt? I've already tried only allowing the Read permission for the Users group (I've left Administrators with Full Control.) If there's another solution to this without using permissions please let me know. UPDATE: I ran Fiddler as suggested by JD and here is the output from the two responses after the request for the document. The first seems to be a DAV response and the second is the authentication request. How do I prevent the DAV response and just return the .doc on the server?     I am having a heck of a time returning an ArrayList of objects that implement IsSerializable via RPC. The IsSerializable pojo contains one variable, a String, and has a 0 parameter constructor. I have removed the .gwt.rpc file from my war and still I get: com.google.gwt.user.client.rpc.SerializationException: Type 'com.test.myApp.client.model.Test' was not included in the set of types which can be serialized by this SerializationPolicy or its Class object could not be loaded. For security purposes, this type will not be serialized.: instance = com.test.myApp.client.model.Test@17a9692 at com.google.gwt.user.server.rpc.impl.ServerSerializationStreamWriter.serialize(ServerSerializationStreamWriter.java:610) I am using GWT 2.0.2 with jdk 1.6.0_18. Any ideas on what might be going on or what I am doing wrong? Here is the code for the Test class and the remote method is returning ArrayList.   • DVD won't play in Ubuntu Jaunty after codes and css support has been added.

    Using Totem Video Player v2.26.1 on Ubuntu Jaunty 9.04, dvd's won't play after I've installed libdvdread4, added the Medibuntu packages, and run sudo /usr/share/doc/libdvdread4/install-css.sh If I click on the dvd I get an error *"Could not read from resource". If I navigate to one of the videos directly and run it, the movie will play, but with obvious degradation or encryption (like cable tv you aren't paying for).

I have the ToC set up fine, but is there a way to have it update automatically (at document open, save or otherwise)? Word help suggests that it should update upon opening the document, but that doesn't seem to happen. Any ideas?

(Extracting the entire archive & searching using Windows search is always one option)

Ideas?
