Thread information: Thread ID: 14 Thread account name: OURDOMAIN\Account Is impersonating: True Stack trace: at System.Web.HttpMethodNotAllowedHandler.ProcessRequest(HttpContext context) at System.Web.HttpApplication.CallHandlerExecutionStep.System.Web.HttpApplication.IExecutionStep.Execute() at System.Web.HttpApplication.ExecuteStep(IExecutionStep step, Boolean& completedSynchronously) Other Specs: Windows Server 2003 R2 & IIS 6.0 We've narrowed it down to occuring when people try to access shares on the box from within the network, and have discovered (we think) that its due to the WebDAV web services extension being previously disabled by past staff. The exceptions are being thrown when trying to access directories that are virtual dirs in IIS, and plain old UNC network shares What the implications for enabling the WebDAV extensions on our live web server? And will this solve our problems with the exceptions in our event log?

  • How can I connect a Windows 8 PC to a Samba domain

    I am using Samba 3, and want to join my Windows 8 PC to the Samba domain. Windows 8 cannot join out of the box, so I added the following registry entries: HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\LanmanWorkstation\Parameters DWORD DomainCompatibilityMode 1 DWORD DNSNameResolutionRequired 0 And now it talks to the Samba server ok, however I get the following error: And I notice that the machine name created on the samba server does not match its name: win-8jq3fg1n74e$:x:30003:30003:Machine:/var/lib/nobody:/bin/false It is like it is using an internal name.   • Unknown Host Error, is this a registrar problem or a host problem?

    Hi guys, I am dealing with a barrel of weasels on this one. Ad agency registered the domain in mid-August with Network Solutions. 72 hours ago I updated the DNS to point to a host provided by an associate of the client whose credentials are dubious. The DNS servers are at NETSONIC.NET (NS1 and NS2) and respond to ping no problem. I can FTP to the server using its IP but the name is no go. The name is also no go for tracert and ping: tracert voodoobbqfranchise.com Unable to resolve target system name voodoobbqfranchise.com. ping voodoobbqfranchise.com ping: unknown host voodoobbqfranchise.com I called NetSol and of course their tier one guy swears it must be the host but I insist that an unknown host must be a NetSol issue. Otherwise we'd get somethng like an httpd_conf error after being routed to the Netsonic server. Am I right? Is this an issue at the registrar? TIA JG

Update: I have set up openDKIM on my server, everything works, gmail message headers say that dkim=pass, which means everything is set up correctly. Messages still end up in Spam folder.

  • Help make sense of a KillDisk error/log

    I have a hard drive that I've been trying to reformat. I tried reformatting it in the windows XP and 7 installers, and in an Ubuntu live cd with gparted. I tried using dd to 'zero' the drive as well with no success. Finally I ran across KillDisk after a search.     Can't find out, how to configure spamassassin to delete all spam messages. Currenly it's only mark messages as spam, but pass them throught IMAP to client.   • When DNS doesn't cache

    We've had some odd DNS problems over the past couple of days that I don't fully understand. Some of our DNS names stopped resolving for some of our customers due to some 'unknown' server reconfiguration at our DNS provider. The problem seemed to be intermittent i.e. stopped working and started working within a few minutes over a couple of days. I'm no expert on DNS, but I'd have expected DNS caches to prevent this sort of thing from happening - when we need to change an IP address for a DNS record, it can take 24 hours to propogate, so how can our DNS provider be breaking name resolution intermittently for our customers so easily? Shouldn't the DNS caches kick in here? We had a similar problem about a month ago when one of their nameservers 'decided to reload the DNS database from scratch' - this broke our name resolution too. Again, why didn't the caches satisfy the name resolution requests. Any guesses would be appreciated. John

  • Unable to restore from Shadow Copy due to long filename

    We have shadow copy enabled on our Windows SBS 2008 server. Attempting to restore a file from shadow copy gave the following error- The source file name(s) are larger than is supported by the file system. Try moving to a location which has a shorter path name, or try renaming to shorter name(s) before attempting this operation. The filename has 67 characters, and it's shadow copy path is 170 characters. These seem to be under the NTFS limits (260?). We tried- Copying to the shortest path possible (C:) Copying to the shortest path possible on both a client computer and the server itself Is it possible to rename files in a shadow copy, before doing the copy? Any idea why the error is appearing despite the filename size appearing to be within limits?

  • Virtual fiber channel HBA in Solaris

    We are trying to set up some virtual Fibre Channel HBA's in Solaris. This seems to be possible with NPIV. Creating NPIV's in a Solaris global zone works fine, but passing that NPIV to a zone didn't work at all. We tried to pass the NPIV as following: # zonecfg -z zone1 'info' zonename: studentz1 [...] device: match: /devices/pci@0,0/pci8086,25f9@6/pci8086,350c@0,3/pci1077,140@4/fp@1,0:devctl allow-partition not specified allow-raw-io not specified Wat we want to do is, set up an environment for SAN exercises. We don't have a physical host per student, so we try to virtualise that in some way (Solaris zones or VMware). It should be possible to display the WWN of the virtual HBA and mount the storage presented by the disk subsystem. Any ideas to pass the NPIV to a solaris zone or to virtualise this with vmware?

  • Ubuntu 10.04 not detecting multiple monitors

    I have 2 graphics cards, the output from the lspci: 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc RV770 [Radeon HD 4850] 02:00.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc RV710 [Radeon HD 4350] I have one monitor connected to the 4850 and 2 connected to the 4350. However when I go into System Preferences Monitors the only monitor shown is the one connected to the 4850. Is there something I need to enable for it to be able to use the other card? How do I get this to work. Thanks.   • dell u2410 3dMark Benchmark distortion problems

    Ive been doing burn in testing for a new system I have put together and I am running into some video distortion problems with running the 3DMark benchmark tools (Both 06 and Vantage). The graphics will be fine, then sometimes during a test switch the screen will light up with thin horizontal ranibow lines (Something that looks very "glitchy") If i turn the monitor off and back on it clears up. All the tests "pass" and my system gets good marks but it concerns me if I might have problems with games (The screen returns to normal if I dont resest monitor and just let tests pass). I want to return a problem component now before its too late if it is something with the new hardware. Also, I am monitoring temp with thermal laser gun and the card itself is not going above 65c. Any ideas? The documentation here is unclear to me, and the only mailing list conversation that I could find here does not shed any (comprehensible, to me) light on the matter either. I have a bunch of name-based virtual hosts declared like this: <VirtualHost *:80> ServerName example.com ... and I'd like to have an entry that fires when none of those match, i.e. when a request comes in without a virtual host name, or with a virtual host name that has not been declared. Should I use *:80 or default:80?

  • Windows authentication through IE - specify the domain

    This question really relates to allowing to logon to a SharePoint installation from home but I guess it's a general IIS security question. When the login box pops up to collect the windows credentials the user can just type in their user name on Safari/Chrome/FF and they can login correctly. On IE authentication fails as it seems to pass their local machine name by default and the user needs to replace this with domain\user. Not a big problem in some cases but we'd prefer it if the users didn't have to enter the domain name portion. Is this simply a feature of IE that we can't control or is their something we can do with IIS/AD etc that will allow us to provide a default domain if one isn't specified?

  • What to do if I can't ping my DNS?

    On my Windows XP SP3 machine I can only browse (with any browser) by putting in an ip address. If I put in any domain name it doesn't work. Skype and IM work. In command prompt nslookup works to resolve the name to an ip address, but ping does not work using a domain name, only using the ip address. Other computers on the same network can surf the net normally without any problems. I am not using a proxy. I already reset winsock and tcpip stack to no avail. Can anyone help me solve the problem?

  • Two different sites, same IP, same top-level domain, on IIS 7.5 -- one works and the other displays HTTP 404 error

    I'm running a Windows 2008 R2 box with IIS 7.5 as the web server. On IIS, I have two websites: mysubsite1.mysite.com and mysubsite2.mysite.com. There is only one IP on the server and both sites share this IP. Here is how I have the bindings configured: mysubsite1.mysite.com works fine. However, mysubsite2.mysite.com gives me the following error: Not Found HTTP Error 404. The requested resource is not found. Now, if I change the Host name field for mysubsite1.mysite.com to blank and restart the web server, both sites work! The question is why is the host name field for the first site causing an HTTP 404 error for the second site when both sites' Host name fields are filled? I would appreciate any insight. Thank you.

  • Managing DroboShare SSH usernames and passwords

    The default login for SSH on the droboshare is a user name of root with a password of giveit2me. With the command passwd the password can be changed. However I can't find anyway to change the default user name. Since any Unix based has a user named root this kinda bugs me as a minor security issue. Does anyone know how to change the user name for droboshare SSH logins? The SSH program being used is a variant of dropbear if that is any help.

    I have two machines, each configured identically as a firewall/load balancer for a busy website. I have set them up with CARP and pfsync on both the internal and external interfaces. The internal interface is behaving as expected (primary listed as MASTER and secondary listed as BACKUP) On both machines, the network interfaces are as follows: em0 - External interface bge0 - Internal interface bge1 - Crossover connection between both machines carp0 - Shared external interface for CARP carp1 - Shared internal interface for CARP I've rewritten the IP addresses and MAC addresses below.   • Wireless internet connection connects but internet does not work (no packets received). Wired does.

    When I connect my PC via ethernet cable to my ADSL router it works fine. When I connect via Wireless it connects and the internet will work for a random amount of time and then stop working. It stays connected with a strong signal but no packets are received. My laptop/iphone are right next to it and wireless works fine. If I open the Wireless USB status, it says it is connected to my SSID with full strength (54 mps - I am 3 meteres away from my router) and the activty shows as Packets 594 SENT and 105 RECEIVED (this goes up VERY slowly) I have tried the following: Turned off anitvirus and firewall completely. Tested the wifi signal- I am writing this on my laptop which is next to my PC and also has full wifi strength. Tried a different wireless adapter - I dug out an old PCI wireless card - it does the exact same thing. Compared all wireless settings to my laptop. I can ping google.com and it replies (sometimes with packet loss) When I reboot the PC it will connect for a minute or two (random time) and then just stops again. I tried Firefox, IE etc. no joy I have updated all latest versions (Netgear WG111v2) and drivers Checked Event Log - nothing unusual Ping the router (and even connect as admin for the few minutes when the internet does work) Changed the MTU down to 1200 using DrTCP Checked Device Manager for conflicts - none. I ping the router from the PC (192.168.0.10 - 192.168.0.1) and it replies with 4 packets. BUT, on my router admin page (which I access via http on my laptop wirelessly) - if I ping 192.168.0.10 all packets timeout (pinging my laptop 192.168.0.12 works fine) My router admin page shows the leased IP address for 192.168.0.10 (ie it is definitely talking to the router initially) Now I am out of ideas - please help. I think it is an OS/Software issue as I have tried 2 different wireless adapaters (PCI and USB) with the same result but all other wireless devices work fine around mine). It's not the firewall. It is getting assigned an IP address correctly (my PC gets 192.168.0.10, my laptop is .12) It is assigned by DHCP. As soon as I plug in the ethernet cable it all works fine. Repairing the adapter sometimes helps but it will always stop working after a random time. The wireless adapter always shows as connected with Excellent signal but the internet does not work. I am running Windows XP SP3 and have tried a Netgear WG111v2 USB adapter. Thanks in advance! UPDATE: The internet seems to be working, it is just either sending packets too small or slow to work (some small pages load bits of them very slowly but then hang).   • Strange failure audit in 2003 R2 X64 SP2

    our server is running 2003 R2 X64 SP2, we keep seeing this in clusters of around 4 rapid fire. Sometimes 2 hours, sometimes around 8 hours apart with slight variations. I am also seeing the same blank username and domain in an account locked out message, I have tried disabling all scheduled tasks, if anyone has any idea please let me know!
