  • Why does a Non-existant page returns 302 status when using a custom 404 page in asp.net

    I have setup custom 404 page custom404.aspx that returns a 404 Not Found error correctly, however the non-existant page that was initially requested returns a 302 Found status. So when I test thispagedoesnotexist.aspx, it returns a 302 Found then the custom404.aspx loads and returns a 404 Not Found status. I want to make sure that search spiders/bots understand that the requested page does not exist and should not show up in any search results. Is this the case? Cheers

  • Resources.resx in c# projects

    I have a problem using a Resources.resx - Resources.de.resx - combination in a C#/WPF project. The whole solutions contains several projects and some projects contains resource files. When starting the main project I can switch the language successfully from english to german. But the GUI elements from the sub projects still show the english text.   • Regular Expression - Match only 7 chars?

    I'm trying to match a SEDOL (exactly 7 chars: 6 alpha-numeric chars followed by 1 numeric char) My regex ([A-Z 0-9]{6})[0-9]{1} matches correctly but strings greater than 7 chars that begin with a valid match also match (if you see what I mean :)). For example: B3KMJP4 matches correctly but so does: B3KMJP4x which shouldn't match. Can anyone show me how to avoid this?

    Hello, i am using the Eclipse RCP trayitem, which is described in Vogellas tutorials here: http://www.vogella.de/articles/RichClientPlatform/article.html#systemtray The requirement now is not only to show the name of the app in the tooltip but also a percentage while doing lengthy operations. I understand that the trayitem attribute is a private from ApplicationWorkbenchWindowAdvisor, so I added a getter and setter method. The only thing missing is a possibility to access the trayitem instance from my ProgressMonitorDialog instance. Can you tell me, how you would solve this puzzle? Thanks

    I'm learning to apply MVP to a simple WinForms app (only one form) in C# and encountered an issue while creating the main presenter in static void Main(). Is it a good idea to expose a View from the Presenter in order to supply it as a parameter to Application.Run()? Currently, I've implemented an approach which allows me to not expose the View as a property of Presenter: static void Main() { IView view = new View(); Model model = new Model(); Presenter presenter = new Presenter(view, model); presenter.Start(); Application.Run(); } The Start and Stop methods in Presenter: public void Start() { view.Start(); } public void Stop() { view.Stop(); } The Start and Stop methods in View (a Windows Form): public void Start() { this.Show(); } public void Stop() { // only way to close a message loop called // via Application.Run(); without a Form parameter Application.Exit(); } The Application.Exit() call seems like an inelegant way to close the Form (and the application).   • Is it possible to add IPTC data to a JPG using python when no such data already exists?

    With the IPTCInfo module under Python (http://snippets.dzone.com/posts/show/768 for more info) it's possible to read, modify and write IPTC info to pictures. However, if a JPG doesn't already have IPTC information, the module simply raises an exception. It doesn't seem to be able to create and add this metadata information itself. What alternatives are there? I've googled for the past hour but to no avail whatsoever.

Currently i have the items templated so they show only the property Class.Name. so the ComboBox is full of Class.Name However i am required to give the user the option to display the property Class.Description instead. If it were just that easy i would be fine, but they want the option to switch back and forth between them at runtime. Any ideas?

    I'm using libnotify to show desktop notifications in my application; notify_notification_new() returns a NotifyNotification*, which should be passed as the first param to further function calls of the notification library. There is no notify_notification_free() which frees the pointer it returns. I looked up the source of notify_notification_new() and internally it does a g_object_new(), gets a GObject* and returns it as a NotfiyNotification*, so when my application does the clean up, should I call a g_object_unref() on the pointer returned by notify_notification_new()?

  • Using XAML + designer to edit Plain Old CLR Objects?

    I want to write a POCO in XAML, and use a DataTemplate to display that object in the GUI at runtime. So far, so good; I know how to do all that. Since I'll already have a DataTemplate that can transform my POCO into a WPF visual tree, is there any way to get the Visual Studio designer to play along, and have the Design View show me the POCO+DataTemplate's resulting GUI, as I edit the POCO's XAML? (Obviously the designer wouldn't know how to edit the "design view"; I wouldn't expect the Toolbox or click-and-drag to work on the design surface. That's fine -- I just want to see a preview as I edit.) If you're curious, the POCOs in question would be level maps for a game. (At this point, I'm not planning to ship an end-user map editor, so I'll be doing all the editing myself in Visual Studio.) So the XAML isn't WPF GUI objects like Window and UserControl, but it's still not something where I would want to blindly bang out some XAML and hope for the best. I want to see what I'm doing (the GUI map) as I'm doing it. If I try to make a XAML file whose root is my map object, the designer shows "Intentionally Left Blank - The document root element is not supported by the visual designer." It does this even if I've defined a DataTemplate in App.xaml's <Application.Resources>. But I know the designer can show my POCO, when it's inside a WPF object. One possible way of accomplishing what I want would be to have a ScratchUserControl that just contains a ContentPresenter, and write my POCO XAML inside that ContentPresenter's Content property, e.g.: <UserControl ...> <ContentPresenter> <ContentPresenter.Content> <Maps:Map .../> </ContentPresenter.Content> </ContentPresenter> </UserControl> But then I would have to be sure to copy the content back out into its own file when I was done editing, which seems tedious and error-prone, and I don't like tedious and error-prone. And since I can preview my XAML this way, isn't there some way to do it without the UserControl?
