• Obtain all keys of a Neo4j index

  I have a Neo4j database whose content is generated dynamically from a big dataset. All “entry points” nodes are indexed on a named index (IndexManager.forNodes(…)). I can therefore look up a particular “entry point” node. However, I would now like to enumerate all those specific nodes, but I can't know on which key they were indexed. Is there any way to enumerate all keys of a Neo4j Index? If not, what would be the best way to store those keys, a data type that is eminently non-graph-oriented? UPDATE (thanks for asking details :) ): the list would be more than 2 million entries. The main use case would be to never update it after an initialization step, but other use cases might need it, so it has to be somewhat scalable. Also, I would really prefer avoiding killing my current resilience abilities, so storing all keys at once, as opposed to adding them incrementally, would be a last-resort solution.

• How can I get an error or a warning from a PreparedStatement?

  I had an update like this: update table set col1=?,col2=?,col3=? where col4=?; and I filled it up like this: statement.setString(1,"some_value"); statement.setString(2,"some_value"); statement.setString(3,"some_value"); and I forgot to add a fourth value.I did a executeUpdate and of course nothing happened to the database. I spent about 1 hour debugging it, to see where it goes wrong. I then modified my code to print the SQLWarning object returned by the getWarnings method. It always returned null. I even modified the code to the buggy state it was, before I set the fourth parameter, and still no warning. Does anyone know how one can get an error/warning? If it matters, my Connection is set to autoCommit.

• Is it safe to use a subversion feature branch after reintegrate-merged to trunk?

  Must a feature branch be deleted after it's merged (reintegrated) back to trunk? I prefer to constantly merge changes back and forth from my feature branch - I believe this keeps the conflicts to a minimum. Yet I understand that once you use the reintegrate merge to trunk, a feature branch should be deleted. Is it so? Why? What can I do to circumvent this? Update I'm asking about technical problems that come from the tool, not "methodology concerns". I intend to keep working on the feature branch after the merge. Update the top answer indeed specifies a rather complex procedure (merge, delete & rebranch). Is there an easy way to accomplish this in TortoiseSVN? Shouldn't there be?

• Why aren't my JQuery .ajax requests being made in parallel?

  I am trying to make two ajax requests in parallel using jQuery like this: var sources = ["source1", "source2"]; $(sources).each(function() { var source = this; $.ajax({ async: true, type: "POST", data: {post: "data", in: "here"}, url: "/my/url/" + source, success: function(data) { process_result(data); } }); }); I got the basic structure from this question, but my requests still aren't being made in parallel. "source1" takes a while to complete, and I can see on the server that the second request isn't made until the first is completed. As far as I can tell, I don't have any other active requests, so I don't think it's a problem with the maximum number of parallel requests for the browser. Am I missing something else here?

  I'm running Sinatra 1.0 with HAML, my form has a number of checkboxes, for example books I like, and you would select all the books you want. The checkbox name is "books". In sinatra params['books'] there should be an array of all the books that were checked, but it only has the last item that was checked, not an array. How can I get all the checked items? • Would like help with LOGON Trigger

  I've created a logon trigger in MS SQL that needs to check dm_exec_sessions for a login. This login is the user listed in the connection string and has owner right to the database. If the login is verified, I need it to update a specific table and send an email. So far I've done just the following piece and it disabled my web site. The error I get is: "Logon failed for login 'dev' due to trigger execution. Changed database context to 'mydatabase'. Changed language setting to us_english." Any idea what I did wrong?   I've got some old Intel printer (Etherexpress XL ) print servers and they seem to be running an Intel OS called Cos aka Intel Client Os i86 I've found out that much just looking in the update files from Intel. It was at least partly written in C. How do I make a custom software image Intel Cos's boot loader will understand ? I know a host PC xmodem's the image to the client device, and I was wondering if anyone had already either reverse-engineered this or had original info ? or is my only recousre to reverse engineer the update file format ?

• Jquery and CSS switching - is this possible?

  I build a css file using PHP which allows me to easily customize the color of many elements. Is it possible for me to "rebuild" the stylesheet and apply it to the page in the DOM using Jquery? eg. <?php if (isset($_POST['mycolor'])){ $myColor = $_POST['mycolor']; } else { $myColor = "blue"; } ?> <style type='text/css'> .style1{ color:<?php $myColor;?>; } </style> Now on my page I have a link you can click called "change color to red" and when you click "red" it does a $.post to my php script, which rebuilds the css including .style1 - and allows the page to change the stylesheet. I haven't tested this but would it even work? If I echo'ed out the new stylesheet after the post into the dom... would it even apply to the page?

  Question: What is a good datatype to keep in session for a large collection of keys and values to frequently reference and update? Application: Updating an old .NET web app with a million pages and grids to have all the grids maintain their sort. They currently access helper code to format themselves graphically on load and on sort. I figured I could add to that code to check for a key based on the page and grid id in a collection in session to see if it has a previous expression on load. and the on sort update/add its appropriate item in the collection. • How do I write to command line from a WPF application?

  Hi I know how to write to console but if I write to console in my program and call my program from the command line it won't display anything. How do I make it so that when I say Console.WriteLine or Console.Out.Writeline ir prints to the command prompt from which it was called and not somewhere else? Once again I know how to do Console.WriteLine so it's not that :-p unless I'm doing it wrong. From what I can tell it's probably something to do with Console.SetOut(TextWriter t) this is a WPF application and I need it to post its data to the command line while still retaining the GUI at startup. I've triple checked and my code hits the print lines, I can actually see the lines being printed to the Visual Studio output window, it just won't display in the command line when I run it manually without VS. If possible I need to conditionally have the console display. ie if run from command line (or even with command arguments), display or post to the prompt, otherwise do not.

• What's the best way to debug AJAX to PHP calls?

  I'm having a miserable time debugging one small function on my new project. Essentially I'm having a user log out via an AJAX call to my log out script on my server called "userfFunctions.php" I'm using AJAX so that I don't have the headache of writing more regex to match my mod_rewrites. Anyway, every so often, it seems as though my Post data just flat out dies and since the PHP is running behind the scenes, I feel like I have no way of finding out where the data flow is being disrupted. BTW This function works 19 hrs of the day. For example.. in the page "Insert Post", "Edit Post".. I need to insert html! I read on web that's necessary to disable validaterequest directly in page with attribute validaterequest = "false" or in webconfig file! • Can I lock rows in a cursor if the cursor only returns a single count(*) row?

  I would like to restrict users from inserting more than 3 records with color = 'Red' in my FOO table. My intentions are to A) retrieve the current count so that I can determine whether another record is allowed and B) prevent any other processes from inserting any Red records while this one is in process, hence the for update of. I'd like to do something like: cursor cur_cnt is select count(*) cnt from foo where foo.color = 'Red' for update of foo.id; Will this satisfy both my requirements or will it not lock only the rows in the count(*) who had foo.color = 'Red'?

  I have a table column called post_tags within a table called posts where assigned tags are stored separated by the @ symbol. I also have a table called tags where all tag names are stored. I would like to design my database in a more normalized way but for the purpose I am trying to achieve this is the easiest option. • Form variable does not refresh with ajax call

• Visual Studio 2010 deploys views too late in deploy process

  I have a database project in my VS2010 solution. I recently changed a view and and changed a number of functions to use this view instead of going directly against a table. But now when I deploy I get errors on most of these functions because the column asked for does not exists in the view yet. The update of the view happends later than the update of UDF's. Is there any way to change this behaviour? Wouldn't the best thing be if the deploy script updated in this order: tables, views, SP and UDF. It seems like tables is updated first, but the views are just thrown in somewhere in the middle of the deploy script.

• Java Thread Message Passing

  I'm writing an Android app. I have a main method, which creates and runs a new Thread using an anonymous inner Runnable class. The run() method, when it's done, calls a method on it's parent class (in the main thread) that calls notifyDataSetChanged() so that the main thread can redraw the new data. This is causing all kinds of trouble (ViewRoot$CalledFromWrongThreadException). The thing is, this method being called from the worker thread is on the class that's created in the UI thread. Shouldn't that be running on the UI thread? Or am I missing something? • Using MySQL as a job queue

  I'd like to use MySQL as a job queue. Multiple machines will be producing and consuming jobs. Jobs need to be scheduled; some may run every hour, some every day, etc. It seems fairly straightforward: for each job, have a "nextFireTime" column, and have worker machines search for the job with the nextFireTime, change the status of the record to "inProcess", and then update the nextFireTime when the job ends. The problem comes in when a worker dies silently. It won't be able to update the nextFireTime or set the status back to "idle". Unfortunately, jobs can be long-running, so a reaper thread that looks for jobs that have been inProcess too long isn't an option. There's no timeout value that would work. Can anyone suggest a design pattern that would properly handle unreliable worker machines?

  Hi, In the python app engine docs, I see something called dbReferenceProperty. I can't understand what it is, or how it's used. I'm using the java interface to app engine, so I'm not sure if there's an equivalent. I'm interested in it because it sounds like some sort of pseudo-join, where we can point a property of a class to some other object's value - something like if we had: class User { private String mPhotoUrl; private String mPhone; private String mState; private String mCountry; .. etc .. } class UserLite { @ReferenceProperty User.mPhotoUrl; private String mPhotoUrl; } then if we had to update a User object's mPhotoUrl value, the change would somehow propagate out to all UserLite instances referencing it, rather than having to update every UserLite object instance manually, Thanks
