  • Website often sticks, but clicking the link again everything loads fine

    Hi I have a website, which normally is very fast, however in the last week or two we're run into a problem whereby randomly if you click a link the browser will just sit there with the throbber spinning but the page doesn't appear to load If you click the link again it then responds straight away This doesn't seem to be limited to Chrome, Firefox or IE as we've tried all with all having same problems The site is build in ASP and connects to a MySQL database and runs on a dedicated windows 2003 server The firewalls were changed in the data centre recently to pixies but I've not been able to reproduce the problem outside of the office Within the office, we have 11 people (only 7 today and still experiencing problems) connected to a 7MB ADSL connection with Eclipse I have made some changes to the network in the office, namely wiring 4 desks back to the main 24 port switch rather than to small 5 port which then linked on to the 24 port switch... however we were having problems before this was done, and I did this to try and rule out an issue with the switch We have a backup ADSL connection, so I may try switching to that, or switching to a different router, but do you think this is a likely issue?   • Codeigniter ignoring query strings. Only loading index page.

    I have setup remote debugging in netbeans. It works except codeigniter only loads the default controller (home page). I have enabled query strings with $config['enable_query_strings'] = TRUE; The debugger opens up a page with the following url http://blinkfilms.ben.dev/myid/tests?XDEBUG_SESSION_START=netbeans-xdebug So codeigniter should fire up the controller in controllers/myid/tests.php

  • Is it possible to use Google Gears inside of another Firefox extension?

    Basically, i want to implement Offline/Online XUL application with ability to upload data to server. Yes, i know there is Mozilla Storage API, but it looks like it is much more easier with Gears to have local database and to upload local changes to server using WorkerPool. Without Gears, i have no ideas how to upload local changes to remote server. Any thoughts, friends? Thanks in advance for any help.

  • SQL UNION ALL problem after using UNION ALL more than 10 times

    I'm getting a formatting problem if I use more than 10 UNION ALL statements in my VBA Code. If I use 10 or less everything works great. What I'm trying to do is combine 12 worksheets (Excel 2007). I have a numerical column called SC that turns into string and date if I have more than 10 UNION ALL. If I try to use ROUND with more than 10 UNION ALL my last selection will change all the records by one unit. I'm using Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0 as my provider and my connection string has worked for several things in my code so far. Is there any limit for UNION ALL statements when using OLEDB?   • SQL Server Blocking Issue

    We currently have an issue that occurs roughly once a day on SQL 2005 database server, although the time it happens is not consistent. Basically, the database grinds to a halt, and starts refusing connections with the following error message. This includes logging into SSMS: A connection was successfully established with the server, but then an error occurred during the login process. (provider: TCP Provider, error: 0 - The specified network name is no longer available.) Our CPU usage for SQL is usually around 15%, but when the DB is in it's broken state it's around 70%, so it's clearly doing something, even if no-one can connect. Even if I disable the web app that uses the database the CPU still doesn't go down. I am unable to restart the SQLSERVER process as it is unresponsive, so I have to end up killing the process manually, which then puts the DB into Suspect/Recovery mode (which I can fix but it's a pain). Below are some PerfMon stats I gathered when the DB was in it's broken state which might help. I have a bunch more if people want to request them: Active Transactions: 2 (Never Changes) Logical Connections: 34 (NC) Process Blocked: 16 (NC) User Connections: 30 (NC) Batch Request: 0 (NC) Active Jobs: 2 (NC) Log Truncations: 596 (NC) Log Shrinks: 24 (NC) Longest Running Transaction Time: 99 (NC) I guess they key is finding out what the DB is using it's CPU on, but as I can't even log into SSMS this isn't possible with the standard methods. Disturbingly, I can't even use the dedicated admin connection to get into SSMS. I get the same timout as with all other requests. Any advice, reccomendations, or even sympathy, is much appreciated!

  • .NET Remoting switching channels by itself.

    Hi. We are having an odd problem with .NET Remoting. Basically, we have a server which registers two TcpChannels with ChannelServices.RegisterChannel(): one listens on port 50000, the other one listens on port 15000. We then have a client that registers a TcpChannel to be able to communicate with the server. We retrieve a an object from the server by calling Activator.GetObject() with the URI "tcp://serverip:50000/objectname" and this works fine, the client connects to the server on port 50000 and gets the object. However, when we start calling methods on that object, the connection to the channel on port 50000 is dropped, and a new connection is made to the channel on port 15000 automatically. This poses a real problem for us since we don't want traffic on port 15000 because that channel may not be bound to the same network adapter as the port 50000 channel on the server or that port may not be open in the firewall, which causes the remoting calls to fail naturally. This is very strange to us since the client has no knowledge in our code that there exists another channel on the server on port 15000 or what IP it listens on, yet it attempt to connect to it. Create a custom view or create an empty window with a backing NSWindowController and then add stuff to it when the window is opened? I've seen the examples on the O'Reilly Cocoa book and those effectively create a custom NSView. Is this the right way to do it, 8 year later?

    I am importing data from excel(.xls) to SQL Server 2008 using SSIS. I have included IMEX=1 in the connection string of excel connection manager. Hours exceeding allocation billed @ 1.5x hourly rate w/ 8-hr min Engr Dispatch: NBD to dispatch from Ciena's determination of need Per Incident On Site Support ASPP Engr Dispatch 12: Up to 12 dispatch (96 hours) per year.
