• PropertyChanged doesn't work properly

  Hello, I have a Silverlight application in which I implemented MVVM pattern. In my application there is a child window on which I have ComboBox. I bound ItemsSource and SelectedItem of my combobox to a property (typeof ObservableCollection) and property of MyType appropriately. MyType is a "MODEL" derived from INotifyPropertyChanged. When my window is loaded I set values to this properties. But my combobox doesn't display selected item. I found that when I set property which is bound to selected item (in ViewModel), the PropertyChanged event is null. Can anyone help me. Thanks.

• IE8 BHO tab problem

  I am developing an IE8 BHO in C#. One of the functions of the BHO is to maintain a list of website pairs visited by the user. I add the pair (url1, url2) to the list if the user visits url2 by clicking on a link present at url1. I will be using this info to show the ie history in a nice way as opposed to the default behaviour of showing a long list of visited websites (something along the lines of the Firefox addon Voyage ). In my BHO, I am currently using the BeforeNavigate2 event to find the URL the user is going to visit. This works fine as long as the page is opened in the same tab. But, how to find if the user opens the link in a new tab/new window? Is there a way (other than IPC) in which we can find the url from which the user came from? Thanks, simil

• Mark row as deleted in dataTable on UserDeletingRow

  I have a datatable bound to a winforms dataGridView via a BindingSourceControl. I want to be able handle the UserDeletingRow event from the dataGridView and mark the row in my dataTable as deleted. I need to then be able to retrieve the rows marked as deleted from the datatable so that I can delete them from my database when a Save button is clicked. Please not I dont want to delete from the database on each firing of UserDeletingRow, only mark that row as deleted in my dataset. Can anyone point out how to do this?

• Compatibility issues with <a> and calling a function(); across different web browsers

  Hi, I am new to javascript. I wrote the following function rollDice() to produce 5 random numbers and display them. I use an anchor with click event to call the function. Problem is, in Chrome it won't display, works fine in IE, in firefox the 5 values display and then the original page w/anchor appears! I am suspicious that my script tag is too general but I am really lost. • Need help on Coda slider tabs to move inside an overflow:hidden div

  I'm not too good at javascript. and hope I can get a bit of help. I'm using Coda Slider 2.0, and have designed it to where the tabs are another slider to the right of the main slider, and each item. • ScrolledWindow and wx.EVT_LEAVE_WINDOW

  Hi everyone! I have a frame with a textctrl. When the mouse enters the textctrl (EVT_ENTER_WINDOW) I show a PopupWindow on top of the textctrl, and when the mouse leaves the popup (EVT_LEAVE_WINDOW) I hide it again. Everything works fine, except when inside the PopupWindow there's a ScrolledWindow with shown scrollbars. The EVT_LEAVE_WINDOW gets fired when I move the mouse on top of a scrollbar, so it looks like wxPython thinks the scrollbars are not part of the scrolledwindow.. :/ I tried binding the event to the popup or the scrollwindow itself, but nothing changes.. Is there a way I could get around this? Many thanks! (wxPython 2.8.8.0 on Xubuntu 8.10)

• Resizing JPopupMenu and avoiding a "flicker" issue

  Hi, I am trying to implement a search results popup list similar to the style found here: http://www.inquisitorx.com/ (I'm not trying to implement a Google search, I'm just using this as a rough example of the style I'm working on.) In any event, I am implementing this by using a JList contained within a JPopupMenu which is popped up underneath a JTextField. When a user enters search terms, the list changes to reflect different matching results. I then call pack on the JPopupMenu to resize it. This works, however, it creates a slight flicker effect since it is actually hiding the popup and showing a popup. (See the private method getPopup in JPopupMenu where it explicitly does this.) Is there any way to just get it to just resize itself (aside from using a JWindow)?

• jQuery UI: Drag and clone from original div, but keep clones

  I have a div, which has jQuery UI Draggable applied. What I want to do, is click and drag that, and create a clone that is kept in the dom and not removed when dropped. Think of a deck of cards, my box element is the deck, and I want to pull cards/divs off that deck and have them laying around my page, but they would be clones of the original div. • Debugger does not break when debugging PowerShell console

  I'm developing a binary PowerShell module. I have a post build event that copies that module into the 'modules' directory in my "Documents\WindowsPowerShell" folder. I then have the project set to launch PowerShell.exe. My module is loaded via Import-Module and off I go. The problem is my break points are never hit and the debugger does not break on exceptions. If I run PowerShell outside of Visual Studio and then attach the debugger to the process I can break just fine. The other strange this is that my break points are not empty. Typically if different source versions are loaded they will be. I'm running Visual Studio 2010 on a Win 7 box. My module is currently targeting .NET 3.5. I've tried running both the x64 and x86 versions of PS with no luck.

  My application that wraps around Oracle Data pump's executables IMPDP and EXPDP takes random amounts of time for the same work. On further investigation, I see it waiting for again random amounts of time with the event 'wait for unread message on broadcast channel'. This makes the application take anytime b/w 10 minutes to over an hour for the same work. I fail to understand if this has something to do with the way my application uses these executables, or it has got something to do with Load on my server or something totally alien to me.

  I have a tricky problem. I am in a situation where I need to use a method defined in a .cs file from a javascript function. The problem is we are using .NET 1.1 and AJAX cannot be used for the application. Also, I will need to pass a string from the javascript to the server side method. The page where I am implementing the javascript is a .as Any ideas? I have tried doing a post back and creating a RaisePostBack event handler method (both in the .aspx page and the .ascx user control) but no luck.   Hey Overflow, I have an application which serves as a user interface for a spartan/command line program. I have the program running on a separate process, and my application monitors it to see if it is responding and how mush CPU it is utilising. Now I have a list of files in my program (listbox) which are to be sent to the application, which happens fine. But I want to be able to read text from the com-line so as to determine when the first file has been processed. Com-line says one of "selecting settings", "unsupported format" and "cannot be fixed". What I want to be able to do is when it says one of these three things, remove item(0) in listbox1. Is this possible? I thought of programming an event which handles com_exe.print or something or other, if possible.

• Error when running MSpec - how do I troubleshoot?

  I am following this guide to installing and using MSpec, but at the step where he runs MSpec for the first time, I get the following error: Could not load file or assembly 'file:///[...]\Nehemiah\Nehemiah.Specs\bin\Debug\Nehemiah.Specs.dll' or one of its dependencies. This assembly is built by a runtime newer than the currently loaded runtime and cannot be loaded. I have - to my knowledge - done everything more or less exactly like he did up to this step, except where differences arise because he's using VS2008 and I'm using VS2010, and everything has worked so far. The project Nehemijah.Specs (and the entire solution) builds without problem, both in Visual Studio and on my build server, and I can't find anything useful in Event Viewer (although I might not be looking in the right place here...) What to do?

  I recently became interested in iPhone app development, so I've been looking at online tutorials, and also reading a book, trying out the examples as I go along. I'm getting better, but one of the things I still find quite annoying about the usual development model is that I really have no idea what the SDK is really doing behind the scenes to make the app "work" because Apple protects me from this. For example, when I make connections on interface builder, this presumably corresponds to code being generated somewhere... Where that code is and what it does and how it works are not obvious (to me). So I'm wondering, is it possible to create an iPhone app entirely programmatically? That is, have execution start in some main method, which will then programmatically create any views, register event listeners, etc. And if yes, what are some good resources for something like this?

• Removing views from UIScrollView

  I have two UIScrollViews that I move images between. The user can drag and forth between the scroll views. I am trying to animate the movement of the image from one scroll view to another. In -touchesMoved (handled in my UIViewController which has two custom UIScrollViews that intercept touch and sends to my UIViewController), I am trying to set the "center" of my UIImageView that is being moved. As it is moved, the image gets hidden behind the UIScrollView and not visible. How do I make it appear on top of the UIScrollView? I am able to handle the -touchesEnded properly by animating in the destination scroll view. I am also confused about -convertPoint:fromView: usage in the iPhone Programming Guide (See Chapter 3, Event Handling). If the touch coordinates are in window coordinates, to change my view (UIImageView inside a UIScrollView which is inside a UIView and inside a window) center don't I have to use -convertPoint:toView:, i.e., imageView.center = [self.view.window convertPoint:currentTouchPosition toView:imageView]; What am I missing?

  Hi, I'm currently working on an Extension for Safari 5 and I want to run a listener function whenever Settings changes are made. Apple provides an example for that, but it doesn't work for me.   Is it possible to extend the gap between spoken words when using text to speech with SAPI5 ? The problem is that esp. with some voices, the words are almost connected to each other, which makes the speech more difficult to understand. I'm using python and pyTTS module (on windows, since it's using SAPI) I tried to hook to the OnWord event and add a time.sleep() or tts.Pause(), but apparently even though all the events are caught, they are being processed only at the end of the spoken text, whether i'm using the sync or async flag. In this NON WORKING example, the sleep() method is executed only after the sentence is spoken: tts = pyTTS.Create() def f(x): tts.Pause() sleep(0.5) tts.Resume() tts.OnWord = f tts.Speak(text)

  Outside of the actual SWT listener, is there any way to ignore a listener via code? For example, I have a java program that implements SWT Text Widgets, and the widgets have: SWT.Verify listeners to filter out unwanted text input. ModifyListeners to wait for the correct number of valid input characters and automatically set focus (using setFocus())to the next valid field, skipping the other text widgets in the tab order. focusLost(FocusEvent) FocusListeners that wait for the loss of focus from the text widget to perform additional input verification and execute an SQL query based on the user input. The issue I run into is clearing the text widgets. One of the widgets has the format "####-##" (Four Numbers, a hyphen, then two numbers) and I have implemented this listener, which is a modified version of SWT Snippet Snippet179. The initial text for this text widget is " - " to provide visual feedback to the user as to the expected format. Often, I use SWT MessageBox widgets in this code to communicate to the user, or wish to change the text widgets back to an empty state after verifying the input. The problem is that messageboxes seem to create a focusLost event, and using the .setText(string) method is subject to SWT.Verify listeners that are present on the text widget. • ASP.NET MVC project won't start under IIS 5.1 on Windows XP SP3

  I've a ASP.NET MVC 2 project that runs fine under Windows 7 and will start on Windows XP if I use the Visual Studio Development Server, however, starting under IIS generates an error: Unable to start debugging on the web server With the message The specified procedure could not be found No errors in the system event viewer. If I start without debugging I get an "HTTP 500 Internal Server Error" The reason I run it under IIS is the project also includes some WCF wsHttp web services that use certificates, so the VS Development Server is not adequate for hosting those. I have already seen the links on SO that talk about adding the wildcard mapping. I've already done that, just as I've done on Windows Server 2003 where I successfully host ASP.NET MVC RC2 for quite a while.

• SelectedValue of DropDownList is not the one I selected when Enabled=false

  Hiya, I have a few DropDownLists on a webform each pointing to a SqlDataSource. Some of these datasources use one of these DropDownLists for a select parameter, filtering the list to specific categories. For certain users two of these DropDownLists are to be automatically set and disabled. When I submit the form with the drop downs enabled it works fine but when they are disabled the SelectedValue of the DropDownList is being reset to the first one in the list.   I am trying to make an information label that should display the events the application doing. deleting data, reading data, writing data, connection to db. etc.. I've added a label to my form and I am changing its text property for each operation like: label1.Text = "stored procedure is being executed.."; But, in the run time the text of the label does not change. I've tried to add the method Application.DoEvents(); to every place I've changed the label's text property. It works fine. But it looks silly. So I've tried to add this method to my label's "TextChanged" event. But it does not work! Am I doing something wrong? Or, is there any efficient way to make an information label?
