  I successfully implemented an application that works on ipad as well as on iphone. In that I provided option to user to send the screen shot of the application as mail attachment. Even that is functioning well. But my code is taking screen shot irrespective of orientation. The image i'm getting is always in portrait mode. I want to take the screen shot depending on the orientation of ipad/iphone and send the image as attachment. I'm using following code to take the screen shot.   hey all, well i want to have an autocompleting textbox like the one in the image below: this screenshot is from an accounting software. whenever the user focuses on a textbox and starts typing something the suggestions just popup under the control (as seen in the image under the Purc type textbox).This autosuggest functionality even works in the cells of the grid shown in the picture.Moreover the fields in which this autosuggest is enabled allows only values from the autosuggest list to be filled up and nothing else. i want to emulate similar functionality in my app in vb6. so if you could please guide me in the right direction i would be very grateful. thanks in advance to all those who take out time to reply.

• Folder Permissions for new partition - can't move files

  I'm using Ubuntu 14.04. I used the install CD to repartition my HD by resizing /dev/sda1 and creating /dev/sda3 as a Primary Partition. I named it "Media". When I reboot from HD, when I try to move files from the home directory to the new partition, I get an error message "Error while copying. The folder “TV” cannot be copied because you do not have permissions to create it in the destination." The new partition shows up in Gparted as locked, with mount point /media/ian/Media and Label Media. I want to move my media files from the boot partition to a separate partition. Any advice?

• "mountall: Disconnected from Plymouth" error in VirtualBox

  I installed Ubuntu (from the 11.10 Alternate CD, selecting "command-line only" mode before installing) in Virtualbox (Mac OS X Lion host) like I've done numerous times before. Installation finished without any problems, and I rebooted into my new system. Got the splash screen, it loaded, and right where it should've given me a login prompt, I got (in orange) mountall: Disconnected from Plymouth. I can just hit control + alt (option) + F1 to get the login prompt on tty1, and the system acts normally. This happens on every boot. The disk has two partitions, a 250 MB /boot partition and a 99.75 GB encrypted partition. The encrypted partition has LVM on it. One volume group, 3 volumes (swap, / (root filesystem) , and /home. At first I thought the error was from one of the LVM volumes not mounting, but they are all accessible. It isn't a critical error, but it is annoying. Any ideas?

• Where are the systray icons for Dropbox in Ubuntu desktop 13.04 (minimal)?

  I reinstalled Ubuntu desktop using the minimal CD image and the following command: $ sudo apt-get install ubuntu-desktop --no-install-recommends After that I used Ubuntu Software Center to make sure Unity supports application indicators: http://i.imgur.com/bYF162w.png. Everything works great, except for Dropbox. For some reason the icon doesn't appear in the tray, even though the application is running. Steam on the other hand runs just fine, so it seems like there is nothing wrong with the tray itself. According to this post the tray icons should be in /usr/shared/icons/hicolor/22x22/status but it doesn't contain any Dropbox icons. Neither do any of the other resolutions. The answer is a bit outdated, so I'm not entirely sure it is still applicable to the current version of Dropbox. I did the usual thing of reinstalling dropbox with: sudo apt-get purge nautilus-dropbox sudo apt-get install nautilus-dropbox But that didn't solve anything either. Does somebody know how to fix this issue?

  I was trying to install JRE on my 64-bit ubuntu 10.04 installation. Just to be sure that that is what I really want, I need to run a .jar file. I downloaded java from this link. Then I chose linux x64 and downloaded the tar file, I extracted it and tried to compile the source code but had the error. I don't know whether I downloaded the wrong file or I ran the wrong commands in the terminal After I changed directory using the cd command to the extracted directory, I tried ./configure but I got this error: ./configure: command not found I know that there is an easier way to install java but I just want to understand how to install an application from source in linux as it seems that I will face this problem in the future.   Buenos Dias, Tengo un Notebook Intel(R) Atom(TM) CPU N270 1.60GHz Version de la BIOS Intel V1585, tenia un sistema operativo de windows xp e intente instalar ubunto 12.04 por medio de live USB debido a que no tengo la adaptación de CD segui todos los pasos y le di instalar completamente formateando el sistema anterior, terminando la instalacion me salio un problema que no encontraba el sistema de arranque o algo asi el hecho es que me salia algo de SDA donde aparecia el modelo del HDD y como es Hitachi HTS543212L9A300 le di en esa y le di finalizar, pero al reiniciar cuando debe iniciar el sistema operativo se queda en negro y no carga nada =S he intentado volver a arrancar la usb pero no me deja hacer nada se me traba =S. soy principiante en este sistema operativo y quiera saber que solución me pueden decir para sacarme de este embrollo. tampoco me sale nada despues de usar ctrl+alt+F1 =S...   My aim is to Install the Ubuntu 10.04 desktop version on a remote machine using PXE-BOOT. I'm trying to apply the steps given in PXE-BOOT for Ubuntu 9.10 . (I know this is for 9.10). In "Step 8. Setting Up Boot Files", it says cp -a /media/cdrom/install/netboot/* /tftpboot/ but I wasn't able to find the netboot folder in my Ubuntu 10.04 Desktop CD-Rom. Does that folder only exist in Ubuntu Server edition? Is it possible to do this in the Desktop edition?

• cannot boot Ubuntu after removing packages?

  I have problem now with booting into Ubuntu because I removed some packages from package manager and its dependencies by mistake. After I saw desktop removing applications one by one and the theme starting to disappear. After I tried to restart the login, I tried to fix it usinh recovery mode but it's not working. I am sure there are important packages removed, the problem is that I have no backup for my files .. Also, I need my firefox stored passwords. , I tried to boot to Ubuntu live CD but files encrypted in home folder and no access to it !! is there away to access it ?

• Sending BLOBs in a JSON service,... how?

  Hello I have a webservice (ie. servlet) implemented in Java. It gets some data from a MySQL table, with one column being of type BLOB (an image), and some other columns are just plain text. Normally I would store the file outside the database with a pointer to it in the database, but due to circumstance I now have to use this BLOB column... What is the proper way to send this? How to encode the image in a JSONObject, and how to parse (and RENDER!) it on the otherside ? I want to use JSONP, to avoid having to proxy it through the consumer's webserver. So that the consumer can just put in a tag pointing to the webservice, calling a callback. Any thoughts how to handle images in this situation? Also thoughts on performance etc. are interesting!

  I had windows XP and windows 7 previously. I wanted to keep windows XP and replace windows 7 by Ubuntu in a specific drive of hard disk. During installation of Ubuntu I found option replace windows 7 by Ubuntu and I did it. now I found that windows XP has also gone and Ubuntu is occupying the area of whole hard disk. Now I want to uninstall or format the hard disk because Ubuntu is new to me and I am not comfortable with Ubuntu only right now. I want to keep both windows XP and Ubuntu. so how can I uninstall Ubuntu or format hard disk?? please help....Is the formatting is possible by inserting windows XP CD?? Or is there any other way so that without uninstalling Ubuntu I can also install windows XP?

  Hello all, I'm writing a control that may have some of its parts transparent or semitransparent. Basically this control shows a png image (with alpha channel). The control's parent window has some graphics on it. Therefore, to make the png control render correctly it needs to get image of what the parent window would draw beneath it. Parent dialog might have WS_CLIPCHILDREN flag set, that means that the the parent window won't draw anything under the the png control and in this case png control won't work properly. This control has to work on Windows Mobile also, so it can't have WS_EX_TRANSPARENT

  To customize the visual look of a UISlider you can set the thumb and track images. Part of the track images gets stretched to the appropriate with. From the documentation: A stretchable region sits between two end cap regions. The end caps define the portions of the image that remain as is and are not stretched. The stretchable region is a 1-point wide area between the end caps that can be replicated to make the image appear longer. Now the problem I have is that my stretchable region needs to be more than 1-point wide. (It's a pattern) Unfortunately the 1-point width seems to be hard coded in the SDK. Anyone having an idea how to work around this? Or will I have to write my own slider from scratch for this?

  Hello. I have been playing with Compact Framework lately and i need some advice. I have a collection of items. One of the properties on each item is a string type that holds XML. This XML defines image, font, style etc... Im looking for a control (similar to listView) that would replace listBox control. Im not satisfied with listView control, because it is very limited on items level. The control has to be dynamic enough so that my parser could parse the XML and customise the control. For a start i would like to show an image and perhaps some font styles for each row in the control. Here is a sample what im trying to achieve: Any suggestions?

• How to create Windows XP LiveUSB using Ubuntu to replace it

  I am using an Acer Aspire One netbook with no CD-disk drive, and would like to uninstall Ubuntu 12.04 LTS and install Windows XP in its place. The problem here is that I can't seem to find a program that can put the windows boot files on a USB drive from an ISO file. I have Ubuntu fully installed and have tried using unetbootin. When I tried booting from unetbootin I got a screen with a blue box that had the word "default" in it highlighted. underneath the box there was a countdown that said "will boot from default in 10" after the countdown finished the number would revert to ten and nothing would happen. Can someone tell me another program that would be useful for this please?

• Unable to delete file locked by same process -- weird!

  I have an application written in PHP that uses a COM dll written in C#. The dll creates an image file by combining two other image files. The PHP script then takes over to do the housekeeping tasks of deleting the two source files and renaming the resulting combined file. The problem is the PHP script can't delete one of the source files because it's locked. The weird thing is that the process that has it locked is itself which in this case is the Apache Web Server. I have tried altering the C# dll to dispose of all bitmap and graphics objects prior to exiting, and yet the lock remains. My question is, what can I do to get the dll to let go and release the file locks. This is very frustrating.

• Monitor displays "No VGA signal" "Check DVI cable" after installing motherboard drivers

  I bought computer with all of the needed parts, got everything sorted out, installed windows 7 but my CD-ROM doesn't fit my motherboard. So I had to download the driver manually and install it using USB disc. My motherboard: ECS elitegroup H61H2-M2, I downloaded it's drivers, installed the BIOS map or something, and then the computer forced a reboot after it was complete, after the reboot my monitor just stopped working and displayed No VGA signal, No DVI cable I think I've just installed the wrong driver, well but how can I sort it out? This is the driver I installed. On the book, it tells me to install the drivers, without the driver it won't see the Internet connection cable. I'm 100% sure there is nothing wrong with the monitor or it's cables. it stopped working exactly after the reboot after the installation.
