    I am trying to monitor a log file using Zabbix 1.8.4. I created an item using the following details: Host: Zabbix server Description: logger_test Type: Zabbix agent (active) Key: log[/tmp/scribetest/test3/test3_current,error,,100] Type of Infromation: Log Update interval (in sec): 1 sec Keep history (in days): 90 Status: Active Applications: Log files I created a trigger and attached it with the item logger_test using the following details: Name: logger_test_trigger Expression: {Zabbix server:log[/tmp/scribetest/test3/test3_current,error,,100].str(error)}=1 Severity: disaster The above settings works fine for the first time but next time the trigger shows ZBX_NOTSUPPORTED and after that item also shows "not supported" message. Can you please tell me if anything I am doing wrong here ?

In your opinion, what is best available scripting language to manage massive amounts of files and file types? We would like to easily design and run efficient user-friendly scripts to search for and retrieve/create copies of files that may be located in different directories according a single static hierarchy. However, what I want to express is that I want the Events where Data CONTAINS the word "Error" . . . how do I express that? I've Goggled around, but I can find no references to Regular Expression like pattern matching in the Event Viewer. XPath has "contains", but if Event Viewer will support it, I cannot seem to figure out the syntax for invoking it.

    I'm using Netbeans to add a JToolbar to my window which also has a JMenuBar. Here is the design-time look: .. but during run-time I get this: With the toolbar seemingly partially hidden under the menu names. This is on the Mac, btw. Is there something stupid I've forgotten to do or some layout trick I should be using? EDIT: I'll add that the area below the toolbar is a SplitContainer.

  • How can I bulk rename files in a RAR or ZIP archive on the mac?

    I have a set of archive files -- both zip and rar formats -- inside of which I need to rename some files. Specifically, I want to do something like this: for each archive file in a directory for each file in the archive if the file name matches the regular expression /(.* - [0-9]{2})([0-9]{2} - .)*/ rename the file as \1-\2 The trick isn't so much in the generation of the new name; I can do that with either bash or sed or anything else. It's the set of commands to manipulate the files in the archives using rar/unrar or unzip/zip (If it makes a difference, I'm re-formatting some CBR/CBZ files to get the double-page spreads to come up in the right order in SimpleComic -- it interprets page 0203 as page 203, which makes the story a bit hard to follow)

  • Single page Web App in Java framework or examples?

    I have a Visual Studio 2008 C# .NET 2.0 CF project with an abstract class derived from Component. From that class, I derive several concrete classes (as in my example below). But, when I go to exit my Form, though the Form's Dispose() member is called and components.Dispose() is called, my components are never disposed.   • VWD 2008 Express : where can i set absolute positioning as a default?

    So when I used Visual Web Developer 2005 Express edition, in the ribbon there was a menu option for "Layout", which you could go through and select positioning and set absolute to default. I am using Visual Web Developer 2008 Express now, and I see that you can select format from the menu bar, and set position absolute, for each individual control that you add to the design surface, but is there a place I can just set absolute as the default, like in 2005?   • How to manage multiple versions of the same record

    I am doing short-term contract work for a company that is trying to implement a check-in/check-out type of workflow for their database records. Here's how it should work... 1) A user creates a new entity within the application. There are about 20 related tables that will be populated in addition to the main entity table. 2) Once the entity is created the user will mark it as the master. 3) Another user can make changes to the master only by "checking out" the entity. Multiple users can checkout the entity at the same time. 4) Once the user has made all the necessary changes to the entity, they put it in a "needs approval" status. 5) After an authorized user reviews the entity, they can promote it to master which will put the original record in a tombstoned status. The way they are currently accomplishing the "check out" is by duplicating the entity records in all the tables. The primary keys include EntityID + EntityDate, so they duplicate the entity records in all related tables with the same EntityID and an updated EntityDate and give it a status of "checked out". When the record is put into the next state (needs approval), the duplication occurs again. Eventually it will be promoted to master at which time the final record is marked as master and the original master is marked as dead. This design seems hideous to me, but I understand why they've done it. When someone looks up an entity from within the application, they need to see all current versions of that entity. This was a very straightforward way for making that happen. But the fact that they are representing the same entity multiple times within the same table(s) doesn't sit well with me, nor does the fact that they are duplicating EVERY piece of data rather than only storing deltas. I would be interested in hearing your reaction to the design, whether positive or negative. I would also be grateful for any resoures you can point me to that might be useful for seeing how someone else has implemented such a mechanism. Thanks! Darvis

  • How do I define and standardize units in my 3D app?

    I'm starting to design my object graph for an OpenGL ES 1.1 on Android. What's advisable when it comes to actually drawing my triangles when it comes to controlling their size? Should I store all the vertices in units relative to each other and then multiply them by a value I pass during a draw(GL10 gl)? Would this approach have any impact when it comes time to do frustum culling?
