• Set page size using WIA (with scanner)

  Hello, I'm using WIA to acquire images from a scanner with C#. I can scan the papers, but I can't set up the page size correctly, it always defaults to A4 and I need to use Letter or Legal sometimes. I tried with the WIA_DPS_PAGE_SIZE property, but when I try to set a value, I always get an error, that the value is out of the interval (tried a lot of possible values). I wan't to be able to use WIA_DPS_PAGE_SIZE = WIA_PAGE_AUTO (for automatic page size), but I can't find anything on the web related to this. Does anyone know a solution? thanks!

  Hi... Two questions: Is there a simple way to do the Curl page flipping animation? A Curl animation is animation of pages flipping, including the page above rolling and the shadows over the lower page. What is the recommended way to do a "gallery" that displays two pages at a time (just like a book)? Is it: Letting the adapter display a linear layout of two images at a time? (it won't let me show a page flipping over the other like a book) Using two pages, placing somehow one near the other, and then when it's time to animate -move the next two pages over? What is the better way that would enable displaying the left page flipping over the right page? Thanks Meymann

  Hello All, I'm trying to familiarize myself with Facebook's new Graph API and so far I can fetch and write some data pretty easily. Something I'm struggling to find decent documentation on is uploading images to an album. According to http://developers.facebook.com/docs/api#publishing you need to supply the message argument. But I'm not quite sure how to construct it.   Has anyone tried recreating the page flip effect with images like you commonly see in Adobe Flash with JavaScript and HTML 5's canvas tag? Are there any frameworks or JQuery plug-ins that do this type of effect? The page flip in Flash allows you to grab a corner of the simulated book page and flip the page like you would flip a real book's page. • Android ImageButton with a selected state?

  If I was using an ImageButton with a selector for its background, is there a state I can change which will make it change its appearance? Right now I can get it to change images when pressed, but there seems to be no "highlighted" or "selected" or similar state which lets me toggle it's appearance at will.   Hi, I am currently struggling to call a non python program from a python script. I have a ~1000 files that when passed through this C++ program will generate ~1000 outputs. Each output file must have a distinct name. The command I wish to run is of the form: program_name -input -output -o1 -o2 -o3 To date I have tried: import os cwd = os.getcwd() files = os.listdir(cwd) required_files = [] for i in file: if i.endswith('.ttp'): required_files.append(i) So, I have an array of the neccesary files. My problem - how do I iterate over the array and for each entry, pass it to the above command (program_name) as an argument and specify a unique output id for each file? Much appreciated, S :-)

• Decoding AAC using MediaCodec API on Android

  I'm trying to used the MediaCodec API on Android to decode an AAC stream. (It's raw AAC.) I tried using the MediaFormat.createAudioFormat() to create the format object to pass to MediaCodec.configure(), but I kept getting errors when using AAC (audio/mp4a-latm). (It works with MP3 (audio/mpeg) though...) Finally I created a MediaExtractor for an AAC file and looked at the format object it was producing. I saw that it included the key "csd-0" for a ByteBuffer composed of two bytes both with the value 0x12. If I include that key and value in the format object that I used to configure the AAC codec, everything works. Does anyone have an idea what is going on? The documentation states that I shouldn't configure that key. Does anyone have a pointer to MediaCodec examples to decode AAC files without using MediaExtractor to generate the format object?

  I have got IIS7 running on my Windows 2008 Server It works perfectly working for the sites and the folder that I hosted before. Now I am trying to host a folder which contains two subfolder(the subfolders contain some images). I have correctly set the IIS_IUSRS permissions on the site folder. Now its the time to start the file downloads. Here is what I need, a logged in user search and browse for Images and they should able to add the files in to a download basket (Let's say its a Download Shopping Cart). Finally the user should be able to download these file(s) from S3 probably as a zipped file. Is there any plugin/gem where I can use for this?

  I have a dll build with target framework 3.5 that manage reports; this dll use the version 10.5.3700.0 of CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine Now, I have created a new wpf application based on .NET framework 4.0 and I added the report dll reference to project. I had to install the Crystal Reports for Visual Studio 2010 library (http://www.businessobjects.com/jump/xi/crvs2010/default.asp) to build the application without errors...now it builds success, but the report print don't work. It's generate an error when set datasource...the message is: Unknown Query Engine Error Error in File C:\DOCUME~1\oli15\IMPOST~1\Temp\MyReport {4E514D0E-FC2C-4440-9B3C-11D2CA74895A}.rpt: ...   Im writing a small wcf/wpf app to resize images but wcf is giving me grief when I try to send an image of size 28K to my service from the client. The service works fine when I send it smaller images. I immediately assumed that this was a configuration issue and I've trawled the web looking at posts regarding the MaxArrayLength property in my binding configuration. Ive upped the limits on these settings on both the client and server to the maximum 2147483647 but still I get the following error: {"The formatter threw an exception while trying to deserialize the message: There was an error while trying to deserialize parameter http://mywebsite.com/services/servicecontracts/2009/01:OriginalImage. • Extra blank page when converting HTML to PDF using abcPDF.

  I have an HTML report, with each print page contained by a <div class="page">. The page class is defined as width: 180mm; height: 250mm; page-break-after: always; background-position: centre top; background-image: url(Images/MainBanner.png); background-repeat: no-repeat; padding-top: 30mm; After making a few changes to my report content, when I call abcPDF to convert the report to PDF, suddenly I'm getting a blank page inserted after every real report page. I don't want to roll back the changes I've just made to remove this problem, so I'm hoping someone may know why the extra pages are being inserted.

  So I have Image like this I want to get something like this (I hevent drawn all lines I want but I hope you can get my idea) I need algorithm for finding all straight lines on it by just reading colors of pixels. No hard math, no Haar, no Hough. Some algorithm which would be based on points colors. I want to give to algorithm parameters like min line length and max line distortion. I want to get relative to picture pixel coords start and end points of lines. So I need algorithm for finding straight lines of different colors on picture. Algorithm which would be based on idea of image of different colors and Lines of static colors. Yes - such algorithm will not work for images with lots of shadows and lights. But It willl probably be fast (I hope so). Is there any such algorithm?

• Couldn't find 'rspec' generator

  I'm trying to install RSpec as a gem after having it installed as a plugin. I've gone ahead and followed the directions found here http://github.com/dchelimsky/rspec-rails/wikis for the section titled rspec and rspec-rails gems. When I run ruby script/generate rspec, I get the error Couldn't find 'rspec' generator. Do only the plugins work? If so, why do they even offer the gems for rspec and rspec-rails? I'm running a frozen copy of Rails 2.1.2, and the version of rpsec and rspec-rails I'm using is the newest for today (Nov 7, 2008) 1.1.11. EDIT Nov 12, 2008 I have both the rspec and rspec-rails gems installed. I've unpacked the gems into the vender/gems folder. Both are version 1.1.11.

• jQuery button click refresh of jqGrid only firing once

My problem is, any other clicks past the first it seems to run through the jquery code when clicking the button but it never makes it to the POST page. • Correcting CS0009 Error When Creating Integration Services Project

  Tried to open an SSIS project I had been working on today and received this lovely error: Unable to generate temporary class (result=1) error CS0009: Metadata file 'c:\WINDOWS\assembly\GAC_MSIL\System.Xml\2.0.0.0_b77a5c561934e089\System.XML.dll' could not be opened -- 'No metadata was found.' Anyone know why this happens and how to correct it, I've Googled and haven't found any valid solutions relating directly to SSIS. It is only happening with BIDS 2008 and SSIS project types and I tried the same packages (as well as creating a new one) on my other machine and it was fine. Any ideas? Thank you.

• iPad UIWebView PDF rendering is giving me weird visual artifacts

  I am having some difficulty using a UIWebView to render PDF files on the iPad. Everything works fine in portrait mode, but turning the device to landscape produces strange visual quirkiness. Zooming in (but not out) even the slightest will correct it, but obviously that's not an ideal workaround. The issue occurs with any PDF file (I have tried several, all stored locally in the bundle, not retrieved from the web). I also created a clone of the project for iPhone, which seems to work just fine, so the problem is iPad-specific. The problem occurs both in the simulator as well as on a physical iPad. • IIS 7 Authentication: Certain users can't authenticate, while almost all others can.

  I'm using IIS 7 Digest authentication to control access to a certain directory containing files. Users access the files through a department website from inside our network and outside. I've set NTFS permissions on the directory to allow a certain AD group to view the files. When I click a link to one of those files on the website I get prompted for a username and password. With most users everything works fine, but with a few of them it prompts for a password 3 times and then get: 401 - Unauthorized: Access is denied due to invalid credentials. But other users that are in the group can get in without a problem. If I switch it over to Windows Authentication, then the trouble users can log in fine. That directory is also shared, and users that can't log in through the website are able to browse to the share and view files in it, so I know that the permissions are ok.
