I've seen various tools which are pretty complex. I am open to existing third-party solutions, but my hope is that there is something which is very simple to use or build. Thanks.     In our oroject we already have a lots of tables (100+). Some of them contains a lot of columns (50-100) and we are facing the need of adding more columns from time to time. What do you think is best - from maintenance and performance point of view - to split these huge tables in smaller entities or to keep the tables the way they are ? We are using an ORM tools, so we don't need to write custom request.

  • File upload-download in its actual format.

    hi, I've to make a code to upload/download a file on remote machine. But when i upload the file new line is not saved as well as it automatically inserts some binary characters. Also I'm not able to save the file in its actual format, I've to save it as "filename.ser". I'm using serialization-deserialization concept of java. Thanks in advance.

    As an ASP.NET developer, I'm used to working with how VS/C# transparently autogens proxy classes for web references (yes, I know, we're spoiled), but now that I'm creating documentation for more than one coding platform I'm trying to discover what the equivelant to that is in any other framework. So is there a similar way to work transparently with web reference proxy classes for say, RoR, PHP, and Python? And if there's nothing integrated, are there tools you recommend to autogen the proxy classes, or do you recommend to roll custom classes?

    I'm trying to add an automatic post-build trigger to run NDepend after an automated team build in TFS 2010. NDepend's website provided code for integrating this capability, and so I have pasted their code into my .csproj file where they said for it to go, but I receive errors on the build. The errors refer to two of the three "BuildStep" tags I have in the code snippet. I probably missed that, Is it possible to generate it again

    Is there a way to see how many context switches each thread generates? (both in and out if possible) Either in X/s, or to let it run and give aggregated data after some time. (either on linux or on windows) I have found only tools that give aggregated context-switching number for whole os or per process. My program makes many context switches (50k/s), probably a lot not necessary, but I am not sure where to start optimizing, where do most of those happen.

    Hi, I have a question about ruby and wsdl soap. I couldn't find a way to get each method's params and their type. For example, if I found out that a soap has a methods called "get_user_information" (using wsdlDriver) is there a way to know if this method requires some params and what type of params does it require (int, string, complex type, ecc..)? I'd like to be able to build html forms from a remote wsdl for each method... Sorry for my horrible English :D

    Finding it a little bit tedious migrating to the new Mysql Workbench (5.2.22) even though it has many more features than the older GUI tools. Right now I'm confused why I can't find an SQL reference when I open the Doc Library. Is there a way to access this info within the workbench, I'd prefer not to have to open a browser to access reference info on the web.

  • Connection to mysql works through php but not through a form submission?

    I have a download.php file that connects to a remote mysql database. If I run it using php download.php it works fine. But if I create another php file form.php and then submit the form to this download.php, it complains the following: Can't connect to MySQL server on '<IP_ADDRESS>' (13) Does anyone know why this might be happening? I can't see a reason why this works directly but fails to work upon form submission...

    I have been writing embedded C applications for almost 20 years. In the last few years I have written quite a few PC based GUI interfaces in Visual C so I could interface my embedded systems to a PC. Although my primary work will still be in deeply embedded C, I have finally decided to move my PC based tools into Ruby - (for quick scripting type stuff) and C++ or C# for GUI based interfaces and applications. Should I bother with C++ or just move straight to C#?
